As a global fragrance leader, Bath & Body Works takes pride in crafting high quality products with ingredients that customers can trust. The brand also is committed to helping protect the environment, enhance livelihoods and build resilience of farmers and communities across its supply chain. A key part of how Bath & Body Works’ advances this commitment is through its partnership with Givaudan to support Madagascan vanilla farmers.

Vanilla is in many of Bath & Body Works’ most loved fragrances and is a priority ingredient for the brand when it comes to sustainable sourcing. Madagascar is the largest source of natural vanilla for Bath & Body Works and provides the majority of the world’s Vanilla Planifolia species. The country is rich in biodiversity, but the impacts of natural catastrophes, such as droughts, and economic conditions pose a risk to vanilla farmers.

In 2024, Bath & Body Works completed the first full year of its social impact partnership with the Givaudan Foundation. The two organizations came together to help improve living conditions of Madagascan vanilla farmers and contribute to the preservation of their natural resources with a goal of subsidizing 3,000 cookstoves over three years for farming households.

In the first full year of the partnership, with funding from the Bath & Body Works Foundation, 1,000 Madagascan-produced, energy-efficient cookstoves were distributed across 15 villages in the Sava region where most of the natural vanilla used in the brand’s products originates. The stoves save money and time spent collecting firewood while reducing smoke exposure from open cook fires.

“Since I started using the improved [wood-burning] stove, I feel like I’m using a charcoal stove because it produces much less smoke than the traditional wood stoves I’ve used before,” says Marinera Rasoa, Sava region resident, vanilla farmer and cookstove recipient. “Additionally, I no longer need to buy wood or cut down trees for cooking, as I can simply use small pieces of wood that have fallen to the ground.”

The partnership is also supporting the recruitment and training of local community members to serve as resellers of the stoves, creating jobs and additional income sources throughout the region.

“2024 was a pivotal year for our company — defined by action and impact,” says Jeff King, Group Vice President, Head of ESG. “We are part of a larger ecosystem and to make the greatest difference, we seek to partner with others beyond our walls. Our work with Givaudan is imperative to boosting the local communities that play a role in the products we provide to our customers.”

As the world celebrates Global Day of Parents (June 1), Gildan honours those employees who play parental roles, juggling responsibilities towards their families while simultaneously bringing passion to their work. To support parents with this endeavour and ensure the well-being of both employees and their families, the Company invests in multiple initiatives, such as offering support to first-time mothers, providing free health check-ups for employees and families at some facilities, and offering hybrid work policies at certain locations.

See some of these initiatives in action by meeting a couple at Gildan – Diana Florentino, Manager of Fabric Innovation, and Carlos Caceres, Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Operations – who share their experience of balancing parenthood with their life at Gildan in Honduras.

Can you tell us more about your work and respective roles at Gildan?

Diana: As the Fabric Innovation Manager, I’m responsible for leading the development and implementation of new fabric technologies and materials that align with the Company’s design, sustainability, and performance goals. My role involves researching and identifying emerging textile trends, collaborating with suppliers, and working closely with design and production teams to ensure the successful integration of innovative fabrics into our products. Additionally, I support the Circularity area of focus as part of Gildan’s Next Generation ESG strategy.

Carlos: Continuous improvement is part of our DNA at Gildan, and that is exactly what my role stands for. As the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Operations, I am responsible for leading Quality Assurance teams across several Company facilities to ensure that our products and processes meet the required standards and we deliver fabric with the expected quality performance. Moreover, my role challenges me to constantly assess our performance, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvements in our production systems.

What do you love most about being a parent?

Diana: For me, being a parent is all about the little things – I relish those moments when I’ve done something to bring happiness to my children.

Carlos: My favourite part about being a parent is to be there for my children through thick and thin, supporting them with their dreams and goals, and helping them become the best versions of themselves.

What has your experience been like balancing a full-time job at Gildan and being a parent?

Diana: There’s a famous saying – “it takes a village to raise a child” – and this is exactly what I have experienced. In addition to our close family and friends, Gildan too, has become a part of our village over time. Since the very beginning of my parenthood journey, my direct supervisors have always supported me in prioritizing my family, offering me flexibility in times of need and allowing me to be with my children during the most important moments.

Carlos: Balancing work and parenthood has never been a 50-50 endeavor – for me, it has always meant giving a hundred percent of my effort towards both responsibilities, and Gildan creates exactly the kind of environment which allows me to prioritize both. The Company supports parents in their parenting journeys through different means and activities, such as organizing health fairs, which offer free medical services from healthcare professionals in gynecology, pediatrics, urology, dermatology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and dentistry, and hosting the Gildan Family Day, where employees and their families come together to participate in recreational and educational activities. In fact, a lot of my children’s school supplies come from the Company’s Back-to-School kits, and my son specifically loves the lunchboxes!

What is your children’s general perception of your work and Gildan?

Diana: Recently, we had the opportunity to take our son to Gildan Family Day in Honduras, and he was thrilled to see his mom and dad’s workplace and meet all our colleagues. Even at such as young age, he understood the importance of our work and his pride in mom and dad was clearly visible on his face.

Carlos: Indeed, I see my children’s pride in our hard work even at home. On mornings when I don’t find my badge, I always know that I can find it pinned on my son’s clothes. He is also always enthusiastic to put on my headset and sit at my desk on the weekends, pretending to be in a meeting. I take immense comfort in these little acts of his, knowing that we are setting good examples of what it means to work hard and be present parents.

What’s your advice to other parents when it comes to balancing work and family?

Diana: My advice to parents is to bring your best self to work and home. Continue to empower yourself at work, while communicating openly with your supervisors and peers, because when you do so, you can attain the peace of mind necessary to spend quality time with your children.

Carlos: It also helps to work at a Company whose values I resonate with. For instance, the motto “quality and safety is always first,” something I live by at work, is also something I teach my children. So, my advice for parents is to stay true to your values in both your personal and professional life, because this is ultimately what your children learn.

In a world where attention is a precious commodity, capturing the hearts and minds of an audience has never been more challenging or more critical. As social feeds flood with headlines, causes, and calls to action, even the most urgent messages can get buried in the scroll. For organizations committed to social impact, the question isn’t just what you stand for, but how you get people to stop, listen, and act.

That’s exactly the topic explored in a recent episode of the RENEWables podcast featuring Eric Ressler, founder and creative director of Cosmic, a creative agency focused on empowering mission-driven organizations to rise above the noise.

A Podcast for the Impact-Driven Age
In this episode, Ressler shares his belief that strong brand strategy and compelling digital experiences aren’t optional for today’s change-makers—they’re essential. While many nonprofits and advocacy organizations still treat branding as secondary, Ressler argues that in the age of information overload, your visual identity, messaging, and online presence may be the most powerful tools you have.

And it’s not just about looking polished. It’s about making sure your message resonates, your mission is clearly understood, and your audience feels inspired to engage. When attention spans are short and distractions are endless, the organizations that communicate clearly and authentically are the ones that make the biggest impact.

“If we want to compete in the digital space where attention is limited, we need to meet people where they are—with a message that breaks through.” — Eric Ressler

Why This Matters More Than Ever
While the episode focuses on storytelling and branding, its underlying relevance is hard to miss. Across the globe, nonprofits are navigating tighter budgets, donor fatigue, and increased competition for engagement. At the same time, they’re being asked to respond to complex issues like climate change, equity, education and mental health with speed and scale.

In this context, effective communication isn’t a luxury, it’s a strategic necessity.

Cosmic’s work bridges this gap by helping social impact organizations clarify their theory of change, craft purposeful content, and create experiences that connect emotionally and visually. It’s a holistic approach to brand-building that doesn’t just support the mission—it amplifies it.

Listen & Learn
If you’re leading, supporting, or partnering with a mission-driven organization, this episode is a must-listen. Whether you’re a marketer looking for sharper messaging, a nonprofit executive rethinking your outreach, or simply someone who believes in the power of good design for good causes—Eric Ressler’s insights offer fresh perspective and practical takeaways.

We are thrilled to report that Workiva was named a “leader” in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide ESG Reporting and Compliance Management Applications 2025 Vendor Assessment!

The IDC MarketScape noted the following strengths for Workiva:

Integrated reporting

“The Workiva platform seamlessly connects sustainability metrics with financial data, providing a holistic view of performance and helping organizations align their sustainability efforts with financial reporting for more comprehensive decision-making“

Comprehensive sustainability reporting

“The Workiva platform integrates automated data collection, framework alignment, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. This enables organizations to seamlessly comply with global ESG regulations and standards, including the CSRD, GRI, TCFD, and others, while maintaining data accuracy and consistency across multiple reporting frameworks.”

In-platform XBRL® tagging

“Workiva is one of the few vendors offering in-platform XBRL tagging. The platform provides standardized, machine-readable tags for ESG data, ensuring consistency and accuracy across reports.”

Audit capabilities

“With a foundation in compliance management, the Workiva platform has robust audit capabilities built in. The platform ensures full auditability, tracking changes, approvals, and historical data to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the ESG reporting process.”

Criteria Evaluated in the IDC MarketScape evaluation

The evaluation, authored by IDC’s veteran analyst Amy Cravens, leverages her deep expertise in ESG reporting, sustainability management, and governance, risk, and compliance.

This IDC MarketScape report noted, “In evaluating ESG reporting software, factors that should be evaluated include:

  • “Data management, data verification, and data auditability: As companies face increasing regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder demands for transparency, having a single, unified system to collect and manage ESG data helps eliminate errors, duplication, and gaps in reporting. Reported metrics will need to be “data backed” and reported in a transparent, traceable, and auditable format.”
  • “Dashboards and workflows: ESG reporting is becoming an increasingly dynamic process, requiring more frequent review of data and progress with the insight and input of multiple personas across the organization.”
  • “AI and automation: AI solutions are emerging that will automate aspects of ESG reporting by streamlining data collection, analysis, and reporting. AI-powered tools can automatically gather and process vast amounts of ESG data from various sources, reducing the time spent on manual data entry and minimizing human error.”

We invite you to explore the IDC MarketScape excerpt. If you’d like to see the Workiva platform in action, please join us for a live demo.

Can you describe your journey to becoming a Senior Security Engineer and what inspired you to choose this career path?

My journey into cybersecurity has been an exciting one. I started my career over a decade ago, focusing initially on infrastructure monitoring, application monitoring, and other related areas. In those early years, I developed a strong foundation in managing and maintaining critical IT systems. As I learned more about the growing risks in the digital world, I found myself drawn to cybersecurity. The idea of protecting systems and data from evolving threats fascinated me. Over the years, I transitioned from monitoring to protecting, working hands-on with evolving threats and building defenses.

Today, as a Senior Security Engineer at GoDaddy, I focus on building and fine-tuning threat detection strategies to protect our environment. What continues to inspire me is the dynamic nature of this field—there’s always something new to learn, and the work we do directly contributes to keeping organizations secure.

Can you share a memorable experience that reflects a value of our company?

One experience that stands out was when our team was working on building a comprehensive Detection Library and a Data Dictionary from scratch. It was a huge challenge, but we believed in “Owning Outcomes” and “Building Value” for the organization.

We worked together across teams—Detections, Monitoring, IR, CTI, and SOC analysts—to create over 1,100+ detections that improved our security posture. There were tight deadlines and technical hurdles, but we stayed committed, constantly sharing ideas, and helping each other out. This collaboration was a great example of “Joining Forces” and “Working Courageously”, because we weren’t afraid to try new approaches. Looking back, the success of that project made me realize how passionate and driven our teams are. It truly embodied the spirit of GoDaddy’s values.

I definitely can’t take all the credit for this. It was a complete team effort, and I was lucky to work alongside some amazing colleagues.

What makes GoDaddy different than any other company in India?

For me, what makes GoDaddy stand out is its culture of ownership and collaboration. Every individual here is encouraged to take responsibility for their work and make meaningful contributions. At the same time, there’s a strong sense of teamwork.

People are always willing to help each other, share knowledge, and work together to solve complex problems.

Another thing that makes GoDaddy special is its focus on innovation and learning. The leadership team is committed to enhancing employees’ skills and consistently supports the exploration of new ideas or methods to improve security. This environment motivates me to do my best every day.

How do you approach constant learning in the field of security, and what resources do you find most valuable?

In cybersecurity, standing still isn’t an option—threats evolve daily. Personally, I make it a habit to read blogs, whitepapers, and research articles regularly. Some of my favourite resources include blogs from SANS Institute, MITRE ATT&CK updates, and cybersecurity communities like Medium’s InfoSec section and Reddit’s NetSec. At GoDaddy, I’m lucky to have teammates who share knowledge freely, so our discussions often turn into learning sessions. For me, it’s about staying proactive and soaking up as much as I can from diverse sources.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I take great interest in playing cricket and badminton. I am fortunate to be a part of GoDaddy, a company that actively promotes a healthy work-life balance and encourages employee well-being. Additionally, I dedicate time to reading, which not only offers me relaxation but also broadens my perspective and supports my continuous personal growth. I like to listen to podcasts, especially those related to tech, personal growth, or storytelling.

Are you enjoying this series and want to know more about life at GoDaddy? Check out our GoDaddy Life social pages! Follow us to meet our team, learn more about our culture (Teams, ERGs, Locations), careers, and so much more. You’re more than just your day job, so come propel your career with us.

Pannawish Tanthawichian was a participating high school student in the Otis Made to Move Communities™ challenge in 2022-23. Now he’s leaving his home in Thailand with a scholarship to study computer science at University of Toronto in Canada, and he credits his experience with Otis for helping him get there.

His pursuit of an education in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field exemplifies one of the core objectives of the Made to Move Communities program – to inspire a lifelong interest in STEM, and advance STEM and leadership skills to help build the next generation of talent.

Tanthawichian’s team from Kamnoetvidya Science (KVIS) Academy won the Otis Asia-Pacific region competition in the Made to Move Communities challenge with their design of a computer program that forecasts floods in Thailand. The solution was personal for him – his grandparents’ home in Phuket was damaged by floods.

In his application to the University of Toronto, Tanthawichian highlighted his experience with the Made to Move Communities program, describing the skills learned and developed through the program. The university accepted him and awarded him the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship. Tanthawichian will attend the University of Toronto starting this fall.

“I’m really thankful for the opportunities made possible by taking part in the MTMC challenge,” Tanthawichian said.

About the Made to Move Communities program

Launched in 2020, the Made to Move Communities program engages young minds to explore real-world mobility challenges and develop innovative solutions with the potential to create more connected communities and improve mobility for all. This initiative brings together students, educators, and Otis colleagues as mentors with the purpose of advancing STEM and leadership skills to help build the next generation of talent, ensuring future workforce readiness, and sustaining innovation.

Each year, the program focuses on a different theme that aligns with global priorities, such as sustainability, accessibility or technology. This year’s theme challenged students to incorporate AI into their inclusive mobility solution. The program encourages students to think critically and creatively, applying STEM principles to address mobility-related issues. Through workshops, mentorship, and collaboration, participants gain valuable insights and skills that prepare them for future careers while making a positive impact on society. Each participating school receives a grant at the conclusion of the program to support ongoing STEM education in their schools.

PORTLAND, Ore., June 2, 2025 /3BL/ – The Global Electronics Council® (GEC) today announced the launch of the Supplier Engagement Program (SEP) for EPEAT®, a new global resource platform designed to accelerate sustainable leadership across electronics supply chains. The program equips suppliers of EPEAT Participating Manufacturers with resources to help meet the updated EPEAT criteria, drive responsible manufacturing practices, and position themselves as indispensable partners to leading electronics brands.

As electronics brands face growing expectations for environmental and social accountability, over 40% of the updated EPEAT Criteria now extend into the supply chain, requiring more collaboration with EPEAT Participating Manufacturers and their suppliers to achieve EPEAT product registration.

Launching this month, the Supplier Engagement Program for EPEAT delivers:

  • A dynamic training hub featuring presentations, videos, and curated e-learning resources on EPEAT Criteria and implementation best practices
  • Actionable implementation tools and templates to help suppliers efficiently meet required and optional EPEAT criteria
  • Exclusive live and on-demand webinars, regional seminars, and workshops offering direct access to GEC and EPEAT experts
  • Recognition for participating suppliers, signaling leadership in responsible, sustainable electronics

“Brands can’t achieve their sustainability goals alone,” said Bob Mitchell, CEO of the Global Electronics Council. ” It takes a connected, capable supply chain. The Supplier Engagement Program for EPEAT further enables suppliers as partners in sustainable product development, giving them the tools and recognition they need to lead alongside EPEAT Participating Manufacturers.”

The program is open to all tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers of EPEAT Participating Manufacturers in the electronics value chain, regardless of size, product category, or location.

“Asus is very excited about this new opportunity to streamline value chain training on the new EPEAT criteria and increase supplier collaboration to boost further development of sustainable electronics” a representative from the company commented.
