DETROIT, June 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Foxxtecca is making history with professional motorcycle drag racer Dystany Spurlock, who will become only the second Black woman ever to compete in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class. She makes her debut Juneteenth weekend, June 20–22, at her home track, Virginia Motorsports Park, during the Virginia NHRA Nationals.
Spurlock joins trailblazer Peggy Llewellyn in one of motorsports’ most exclusive and underrepresented clubs, women of color competing at the sport’s highest level.
“Since 2021, I’ve been working behind the scenes with Dystany Spurlock to help her reach the next level in her career,” said Chris Harris, co-founder of Foxxtecca, a media and mobility company focused on culture and equity. “In my eyes, she checks every box. Unfortunately, many of the companies we approached weren’t willing to provide the financial backing needed to take that next step, so my partner and I, Kellie Crawford, made the decision to invest in her ourselves.
“We’re not shying away from the DEI conversation, we’re embracing it fully as we continue to break barriers. Foxxtecca may be a small company with limited resources, but we believe in Dystany and understand the impact of her visibility at this level. Our hope is that this moment inspires larger companies to recognize her talent and come alongside her for a full-time campaign in 2026.”
Spurlock will debut as part of Arana Racing, a respected father-son team led by Hector Arana Sr. and Hector Arana Jr., both champions and innovators in motorcycle drag racing. The partnership marks a powerful cultural milestone, bringing together Black and Hispanic excellence on one of drag racing’s biggest stages.
“This moment has been years in the making,” Spurlock said. “I’ve faced every kind of roadblock imaginable, but I’ve never stopped chasing this dream. I’m proud to represent my community, and I’m beyond thankful to Foxxtecca for believing in me when so many didn’t. This isn’t just about me racing, it’s about showing the next generation what’s possible.”
The Virginia NHRA Nationals will take place June 20–22 in North Dinwiddie, Va., at Virginia Motorsports Park. Spurlock’s debut is expected to draw fans, supporters, and media eager to witness a pivotal moment for motorsports, culture, and representation.

TORONTO and DALLAS, June 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ – Refugee Girls Worldwide (RGW) and MedGlobal have entered into a new partnership to extend essential services to more displaced families and communities in need.
This partnership brings together two organizations focused on responding to crises within health care. RGW supports refugee girls and women affected by displacement. MedGlobal delivers healthcare in places where medical systems have collapsed or are severely limited. Together, they can expand their reach and respond to a wider spectrum of needs across diverse regions.
About the Organizations
Refugee Girls Worldwide (RGW) supports refugee girls through access to education, health care, and protection programs. The organization is dedicated to rebuilding lives and restoring dignity for women and girls affected by displacement.
MedGlobal is a humanitarian organization that provides medical aid in fragile and underserved areas. Their teams work with local partners to support clinics, train healthcare workers, deliver urgent services in response to ongoing emergencies as well as providing sustainable long-term healthcare solutions.
Expanding Impact Through Strategic Partnership
RGW has supported over 220,000 people across more than ten countries. In recent years, they’ve opened schools, distributed food and hygiene kits, built recovery housing, and launched clean water projects in post-disaster areas. More than 50,000 patients have received care at RGW clinics. Thousands of girls have enrolled in scholarship programs or vocational training.
With MedGlobal, RGW will be able to expand these services and introduce new layers of support. This includes better-equipped clinics, additional recovery programs, and greater capacity to respond during times of acute need.
The partnership will also allow both organizations to bring increased impact in shared regions including Gaza, Syria, Ukraine and Sudan. It reflects a shared vision that deeper collaboration strengthens humanitarian work, especially in areas where systems are strained and needs remain high.
