Drill results outline mineralization over 200 metres of strike length, with room to expand

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Foremost Clean Energy Ltd. (NASDAQ: FMST) (CSE: FAT) (“Foremost” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce chemical assay results from its 2026 drilling program at the Hatchet Lake South Uranium Project (“Hatchet Lake”) in northern Saskatchewan (Figure 1). Results are highlighted by a high-grade intercept of 1.3% U₃O₈ over 1.0 metre in drill hole TF-26-30 at the Tuning Fork Uranium Zone (“TFUZ”). Taken together, the 2026 drill program identified uranium mineralization, above a cut-off grade of 0.05% U₃O₈, in eight drill holes across multiple drill fences spanning 200 metres of strike length.

Highlights

  • High-grade mineralization: TF-26-30 returned 1.3% U₃O₈ over 1.0 metre, including 4.5% U₃O₈ over 0.25 metres, within a broader interval of 0.36% U₃O₈ over 4.0 metres.
  • 200 metres of mineralized strike length: Notable uranium mineralization, above a cut-off grade of 0.05% U₃O₈, identified in eight drill holes spread across multiple drill fences.
  • Open to the north and south: The mineralized trend is sparsely tested, with approximately 600 metres open to the south and 250 metres open to the north.

David Cates, Interim CEO of Foremost, commented: “These high-grade results are an encouraging step forward in our evaluation of Hatchet Lake and showcase that the discovery potential of Foremost’s Athabasca Basin project portfolio is among the best in the sector. The highest-grade interval from TF-26-30 is comparable to the mineralization encountered at Cosa’s Cyclone target on the Murphy Lake North property and F3 Uranium’s Tetra Zone on the Patterson Lake North property – positioning the TFUZ as one of the most exciting pre-resource mineralized uranium prospects in the region.”

Cameron MacKay, P.Geo., Vice President of Exploration, added: “TF-26-30 demonstrates that the Tuning Fork system can concentrate uranium at high grades, which increases the potential for the discovery of a meaningful uranium deposit. Our next step is to understand the geological controls on that mineralization and identify where similar conditions may occur. Some of our most promising targets are located to the south of our existing drilling in an area that is virtually untested with sparse historical drilling that is interpreted to have missed the expected target area – making this an important priority for future follow-up drilling.”

High-grade uranium within a broader mineralized zone

TF-26-30 returned 1.3% U₃O₈ over 1.0 metre from 139.9 to 140.9 metres, including a high-grade subinterval of 4.5% U₃O₈ over 0.25 metres, within a broader composite interval of 0.36% U₃O₈ over 4.0 metres from 139.9 to 143.9 metres. Core from the high-grade interval is shown in Figure 2.

Uranium mineralization identified across 200 metres of strike

The 2026 Hatchet Lake program comprised 19 diamond drill holes totalling 3,848 metres, testing five drill fences spaced approximately 50 metres apart along 200 metres of strike at the TFUZ. Eight holes intersected uranium mineralization across four of these fences, demonstrating that uranium occurs at multiple locations along the tested trend (Figure 3). Chemical assay and radiometric equivalent results are presented in Table 1.

Open in both directions with priority targets to the south

The TFUZ mineralized area remains open to the north and south. On the northernmost drill fence, TF-26-36 returned 0.19% U₃O₈ over 2.8 metres (Figure 3), supporting further testing to the north, where approximately 250 metres of prospective strike remains inadequately tested. Four historical drill holes were completed in this area but were not positioned to evaluate the target areas currently identified for follow up. targets.

Approximately 600 metres of prospective conductive strike extends south of the current mineralized footprint. Only three holes have tested this area, and some of the Company’s most promising targets remain untested. Follow-up drilling is expected to prioritize extensions in both directions, with particular emphasis on the southern targets.

Figure 3 shows the drill collar locations for the completed drill holes in the area. Collar coordinates, orientations, final depths, and drill fence references for 2026 drill holes are provided in Table 2.

Sampling, analytical methods and QA/QC

Drill core samples were submitted to the independent Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) Geoanalytical Laboratories in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for preparation, processing and analysis. Mineralized intervals were generally sampled in 0.50-metre lengths, with shorter samples of approximately 0.25 metres selected in zones of strongly elevated radioactivity and shoulder samples collected above and below the elevated zones. Core was split, with one half retained for reference and the other half submitted for analysis.

Analyses were completed by ICP-MS and ICP-OES using total (HF:HNO₃:HClO₄) and partial (HNO₃:HCl) digestions, with boron determined by fusion and U₃O₈ weight-percent assays performed by ICP-OES using higher-grade uranium standards. Control samples were included at a frequency of approximately 5%.

Downhole radioactivity was measured using a Mount Sopris QL40-GR Natural Gamma probe calibrated on July 17, 2025 at the Grand Junction, Colorado calibration test pits. Measurements were collected at 0.10-metre intervals and converted to radiometric equivalent uranium grades (eU₃O₈). Core radioactivity was measured using a handheld RS-125 scintillometer.

Within mineralized intervals, where core was not recovered, radiometric equivalent grades are substituted.

Probe depths rely on a wireline depth wheel. Depth correction of the probe data has resulted in offsets between the probe depths and the core depths, which accounts for the differences between the chemical assay and radiometric intervals in Table 1. The chemical assays and radiometric estimates also cover different interval lengths. Radiometric estimates are not chemical assays.

Reported intervals are downhole lengths; true widths have not been determined.

Forward-Looking Statements

Except for the statements of historical fact contained herein, the information presented in this news release and oral statements made from time to time by representatives of the Company are or may constitute “forward-looking statements” as such term is used in applicable United States and Canadian laws and including, without limitation, within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995, for which the Company claims the protection of the safe harbor for forward-looking statements. These statements relate to analyses and other information that are based on forecasts of future results, estimates of amounts not yet determinable and assumptions of management. Any other statements that express or involve discussions with respect to predictions, expectations, beliefs, plans, projections, objectives, assumptions or future events or performance (often, but not always, using words or phrases such as “expects” or “does not expect,” “is expected,” “anticipates” or “does not anticipate,” “plans,” “estimates” or “intends,” or stating that certain actions, events or results “may,” “could,” “would,” “might” or “will” be taken, occur or be achieved) are not statements of historical fact and should be viewed as forward-looking statements. Such forward-looking statements involve known and unknown risks, uncertainties and other factors which may cause the actual results, performance or achievements of the Company to be materially different from any future results, performance or achievements expressed or implied by such forward-looking statements.

Such forward-looking statements include, among others, statements with respect to: the potential of the TFUZ and Hatchet Lake to host a meaningful uranium deposit; the discovery potential of the Company’s Athabasca Basin project portfolio and the positioning of the TFUZ relative to other pre-resource uranium prospects in the region; the interpretation of drill results, including the ability of the Tuning Fork system to concentrate uranium at high grades; the potential extension of mineralization to the north and south of the current drilling; the Company’s plans to understand the geological controls on mineralization and identify where similar conditions may occur; the prioritization, scope and timing of follow-up drilling, including the emphasis on southern targets; the completion of the transaction with Denison announced on October 22, 2026 and the Company’s ability to increase its interest in the properties under option from Denison, including Hatchet Lake; and the long-term growth in demand expected for carbon-free energy sources.

In making the forward-looking statements in this news release, the Company has applied several material assumptions, including, without limitation, that: the Company’s interpretation of drill results, assay and radiometric data, geological models and historical data is accurate; drilling results are indicative of the presence of mineralization beyond the drilled intervals; follow-up drilling will be carried out as expected and will yield results supporting further exploration; the transaction with Denison will be completed on the terms and within the timeframes currently anticipated; the Company will have access to sufficient capital, on acceptable terms, to fund its exploration programs and to satisfy the requirements to increase its interest in the properties under option from Denison; all required permits and approvals will be obtained, and any required consultation with Indigenous communities will be completed, in a timely manner; there will be no material adverse change in uranium prices, general economic, market or industry conditions; and exploration and permitting activities will not be materially delayed by weather, regulatory or other factors.

Forward-looking information is subject to certain risks, trends and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those projected. Many of these factors are beyond the Company’s ability to control or predict. Important factors that may cause actual results to differ materially and that could impact the Company and the statements contained in this news release include, among others: the inherent uncertainty of mineral exploration and the speculative nature of exploration-stage properties; the risk that drill results are not repeated or that exploration does not result in the discovery or delineation of a mineral resource; the risk that radiometric equivalent grades, which are estimates and not chemical assays, differ from assay results; uncertainties in the interpretation of geological data and in the depth correction of probe data; the risk that follow-up drilling is delayed, reduced in scope or does not extend mineralization; the risk that the transaction with Denison is not completed on the anticipated terms or timeline, or at all; the Company’s inability to complete the expenditures and other requirements to increase its interest in the properties under option from Denison; the availability of capital to fund programs and the resulting dilution caused by the raising of capital through the sale of shares; continuity of agreements with third parties, including Denison; fluctuations in uranium and other commodity prices and in the market price of the Company’s common shares; risks and uncertainties associated with the environment; and delays in obtaining governmental approvals, permits or financing.

Additional factors that may cause actual results to differ materially and that could impact the Company and the statements contained in this news release can be found in the Company’s filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Although the Company has attempted to identify important factors that could cause actual actions, events or results to differ materially from those described in forward-looking statements, there may be other factors that cause actions, events or results not to be as anticipated, estimated or intended. There can be no assurance that such statements will prove to be accurate as actual results and future events could differ materially from those anticipated in such statements. Although the Company believes that the expectations reflected in such forward-looking statements are based upon reasonable assumptions, it can give no assurance that its expectations will be achieved. The Company assumes no obligation to update or supplement any forward-looking statements whether as a result of new information, future events or otherwise, except as required by applicable securities laws. Accordingly, readers should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements contained in this news release and in any document referred to in this news release. This news release shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy securities. DENVER, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Simply Good Foods Company (Nasdaq: SMPL) (“Simply Good Foods,” or the “Company”), a leader in the Nutritional Snacking category, today reported financial results for the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 29, 2026.

Fourth Quarter Summary:(1)

  • Net sales of $333.3 million versus $369.0 million
  • Net income of $30.5 million versus net loss of $12.4 million
  • Earnings per diluted share of $0.34 versus loss per diluted share of $0.12
  • Adjusted Diluted EPS(2) of $0.44 versus $0.46
  • Adjusted EBITDA(3) $57.5 million versus $66.2 million

Fiscal Year 2027(4) Outlook:

  • Net sales expected to decline between 13% and 17% year-over-year
  • Gross margins (GAAP) expected to increase between 250 and 300 basis points year-over-year
  • Adjusted EBITDA expected to decline between 9% and 14% year-over-year

“Fiscal 2026 was a year of decisive action. We recognized that our performance was not where it needed to be and moved quickly to reset the business. We aligned the organization around a focused set of priorities, accelerated work to improve our cost structure, strengthened our financial flexibility, and overhauled our marketing approach across Quest, Atkins, and OWYN. We delivered on the modest financial commitments we made following our second quarter reset, continued to generate significant cash flow despite lower net sales, and completed much of the foundational work necessary to improve the long-term trajectory of the business,” said Joe Scalzo, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Scalzo continued, “Fiscal 2027 will be a challenging but important year in our turnaround. While we expect significant declines in net sales and Adjusted EBITDA, we are taking the actions necessary to restore the economic foundation of the business and rebuild brand momentum. We are reinvesting a portion of our margin recovery behind our brands, with new marketing strategies designed to strengthen consumer connection and improve underlying brand health. We expect performance to improve over the course of the year as our marketing investments take hold, the volume impact of pricing eases, and year-over-year comparisons become more favorable. We believe these actions will position us to exit fiscal 2027 with stronger momentum, improved profitability, and a healthier foundation for long-term growth.”

Fourth Quarter 2026 Results(1)

Net sales of $333.3 million decreased $35.7 million, or 9.7%, versus the comparable year ago period driven by a decline for Atkins and OWYN of 14.9% and 20.6%, respectively. The Company’s net sales performance was largely driven by softer retail takeaway and velocity-related distribution pressure.

Total Simply Good Foods fourth quarter retail takeaway(5) decreased about 8% driven by declines for Atkins, OWYN, and Quest of approximately 23%, 7%, and 2%, respectively.

Gross profit of $113.3 million decreased 10.5% versus the comparable year ago period, driven by volume declines, higher input costs, and restructuring costs. Gross margin was 34.0%, a decline of 30 basis points versus prior year, which was largely driven by higher input costs.

Selling and marketing expenses were $32.4 million for both the fiscal fourth quarter and comparable year ago period.

General and administrative (“G&A”) expenses of $30.6 million, which contain $1.9 million in restructuring costs, decreased 24.8% versus the comparable year ago period, which includes $8.7 million of integration expenses.

Net interest expense of $4.7 million reflected a 28.7% increase versus the comparable year ago period due to a higher debt balance.

The effective tax rate was 25.6%.

Net income of $30.5 million compared to net loss of $12.4 million for the comparable year ago period.

Adjusted EBITDA of $57.5 million decreased 13.2% versus the comparable year ago period.

Reported earnings per diluted share was $0.34 versus reported loss per diluted share of $0.12 in the comparable year ago period.

Adjusted Diluted EPS was $0.44 versus $0.46 in the comparable year ago period.

Weighted average diluted shares outstanding of 88.5 million declined modestly versus the comparable year ago period, reflecting share repurchases.

Fiscal Year 2026 Summary:

  • Net sales were $1,356.5 million versus $1,450.9 million
  • Net loss of $155.9 million versus net income of $103.6 million
  • Loss per diluted share of $1.69 versus earnings per diluted share of $1.02
  • Adjusted Diluted EPS(2) of $1.70 versus $1.92
  • Adjusted EBITDA(3) of $225.9 million versus $278.2 million

Net sales of $1,356.5 million decreased 6.5% versus the comparable year ago period, driven by declines for Atkins and OWYN of 20.9% and 9.7%, respectively, partially offset by Quest growth of 0.7%. Atkins distribution-related declines were largely as expected. OWYN’s net sales decline was the result of poor velocities, including on newly expanded distribution.

Total Simply Good Foods retail takeaway decreased approximately 5% driven by declines for Atkins of approximately 22%, partially offset by Quest and OWYN growth of about 3% and 1% respectively.

Gross profit of $442.4 million decreased 15.9% versus the comparable year ago period, driven by higher input costs. Gross margin was 32.6%, a 360-basis point decline versus the comparable year ago period, driven mainly by $6.5 million of one-time OWYN integration expenses and $5.7 million of restructuring costs.

Selling and marketing expenses of $129.4 million decreased 3.6% versus the comparable year ago period driven by planned marketing declines for Atkins, which more than offset increases to support growth for Quest and OWYN.

G&A expenses of $143.9 million, which includes restructuring costs of $12.7 million, integration expenses of $4.1 million, and term loan transaction fees of $3.0 million, decreased 7.7% versus the comparable year ago period, which included $20.5 million of integration expenses and $0.7 million of term loan transaction fees.

As part of the Company’s process to evaluate the carrying value of our brands, prior to the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 we recognized $331.0 million non-cash, impairment charges related to Goodwill, and the Atkins and OWYN brand intangible assets. The impairment is largely the result of current fiscal year performance, updated projections of future revenue, and declines in stock price.

Net interest expense of $18.5 million reflected a 10% decrease versus the comparable year ago period due to lower interest rates.

The effective tax rate was 21.3%.

Net loss of $155.9 million compared to net income of $103.6 million for the comparable year ago period.

Adjusted EBITDA of $225.9 million decreased 18.8% versus the comparable year ago period.

Reported loss per diluted share of $1.69 versus reported earnings per diluted share of $1.02 in the comparable year ago period.

Adjusted Diluted EPS was $1.70 versus $1.92 in the comparable year ago period.

Weighted average diluted shares outstanding of 92.4 million declined modestly versus the comparable year ago period, reflecting share repurchases.

Balance Sheet and Cash Flow

At the end of fiscal year 2026, the Company had cash of $138.4 million and an outstanding principal balance on its term loan of $350.0 million, bringing the Company’s quarter-end trailing twelve-month Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA ratio to 0.9x(6). Cash flow from operations was about $181.0 million versus $178.5 million in the comparable year ago period. Capital expenditures were approximately $24.1 million.

Fiscal Year 2027 Outlook

The Company anticipates the following in fiscal year 2027:

  • Net sales expected to decline between 13% and 17% year-over-year
  • Gross margins (GAAP) expected to increase between 250 and 300 basis points year-over-year
  • Adjusted EBITDA expected to decline between 9% and 14% year-over-year

The Company expects net interest expense in the range of $18 to $20 million. The Company expects capital expenditures in the range of $15 to $20 million.

For the first quarter of fiscal year 2027:

  • The Company expects net sales to decline between 19% and 22% year-over-year
  • Gross margins (GAAP) expected to increase by approximately 100 basis points year-over-year
  • Adjusted EBITDA expected to decline between 28% and 33% year-over-year

The foregoing outlook assumes current economic conditions, consumer purchasing behavior and prevailing tariff rates remain generally consistent across the Company’s fiscal year.

(4) The Company does not provide a forward-looking reconciliation of expected Fiscal Year 2026 Adjusted EBITDA to Net Income, the most directly comparable GAAP financial measure, because we are unable to provide such a reconciliation without unreasonable effort due to the unavailability of reliable estimates for certain components of consolidated net income and the respective reconciliations, and the inherent difficulty of predicting what the changes in these components will be throughout the fiscal year. As these items may vary greatly between periods, we are unable to address the probable significance of the unavailable information, which could significantly affect our future financial results.
(5) Combined Quest, Atkins, and OWYN Circana MULO++C-store and Company unmeasured channel estimate for the 13 and 52-weeks ending August 29, 2026, vs. the comparable 13 and 52-week year ago period.
(6) Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA is a non-GAAP financial measure which Simply Good Foods defines as the total debt outstanding under our credit agreement with Barclays Bank PLC and other parties (“Credit Agreement”), reduced by cash and cash equivalents, and divided by the Company’s trailing twelve month Adjusted EBITDA, as previously defined. The Company does not provide a forward-looking reconciliation of Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA to Net Debt to Consolidated Net Income, the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures, expected for Fiscal Year 2026, because we are unable to provide such a reconciliation without unreasonable effort due to the unavailability of reliable estimates for certain components of consolidated net income and the respective reconciliations, and the inherent difficulty of predicting what the changes in these components will be throughout the fiscal year. Reconciliation of EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA

EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA. EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are non-GAAP financial measures commonly used in our industry and should not be construed as alternatives to net income as an indicator of operating performance or as alternatives to cash flow provided by operating activities as a measure of liquidity (each as determined in accordance with GAAP). Simply Good Foods defines EBITDA as net income or loss before interest income, interest expense, income tax expense, depreciation and amortization, and Adjusted EBITDA as further adjusted to exclude the following items: loss on impairment, stock-based compensation expense, business transaction costs, purchase price accounting inventory step-up, integration expense, term loan transaction fees, restructuring and other costs, and other non-core expenses. The Company believes that EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA, when used in conjunction with net income, are useful to provide additional information to investors. Management of the Company uses EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA to supplement net income because these measures reflect operating results of the on-going operations, eliminate items that are not directly attributable to the Company’s underlying operating performance, enhance the overall understanding of past financial performance and future prospects, and allow for greater transparency with respect to the key metrics the Company’s management uses in its financial and operational decision making. The Company also believes that EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA are frequently used by securities analysts, investors and other interested parties in the evaluation of companies in its industry. EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA may not be comparable to other similarly titled captions of other companies due to differences in the non-GAAP calculation.

The following unaudited table provides a reconciliation of EBITDA and Adjusted EBITDA to its most directly comparable GAAP measure, which is net income, for the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 29, 2026, and thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 30, 2025:

Reconciliation of Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share

Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share. Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share is a non-GAAP financial measure commonly used in our industry and should not be construed as an alternative to diluted earnings per share as an indicator of operating performance. Simply Good Foods defines Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share as diluted earnings per share before depreciation and amortization, loss on impairment, stock-based compensation expense, business transaction costs, purchase price accounting inventory step-up, integration expense, term loan transaction fees, restructuring and other costs, and other non-core expenses, on a theoretical tax effected basis of such adjustments. The tax effect of such adjustments to Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share is calculated by applying an overall assumed statutory tax rate to each gross adjustment as shown in the reconciliation to Adjusted EBITDA, as previously defined. The assumed statutory tax rate reflects a normalized effective tax rate estimated based on assumptions regarding the Company’s statutory and effective tax rate for each respective reporting period, including the current and deferred tax effects of each adjustment, and is adjusted for the effects of tax reform, if any. The Company consistently applies the overall assumed statutory tax rate to periods throughout each fiscal year and reassesses the overall assumed statutory rate on annual basis. The Company believes that the inclusion of these supplementary adjustments in presenting Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share, when used in conjunction with diluted earnings per share, are appropriate to provide additional information to investors, reflects more accurately operating results of the on-going operations, enhances the overall understanding of past financial performance and future prospects and allows for greater transparency with respect to the key metrics the Company uses in its financial and operational decision making. The Company also believes that Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share is frequently used by securities analysts, investors and other interested parties in the evaluation of companies in its industry. Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share may not be comparable to other similarly titled captions of other companies due to differences in the non-GAAP calculation.

The following unaudited tables below provide a reconciliation of Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share to its most directly comparable GAAP measure, which is diluted earnings per share, for the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 29, 2026, and the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 30, 2025:

(1)This line item reflects the aggregate tax effect of all non-tax adjustments reflected in the preceding line items of the table. The tax effect of each adjustment is computed (i) by dividing the gross amount of the adjustment, as shown in the Adjusted EBITDA reconciliation, by the number of diluted weighted average shares outstanding for the applicable fiscal period and (ii) applying an overall assumed statutory tax rate of 25% for the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 29, 2026, as well as the thirteen and fifty-two weeks ended August 30, 2025.
(2)Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share amounts are computed independently for each quarter. Therefore, the sum of the quarterly Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share amounts may not equal the year to date Adjusted Diluted Earnings Per Share amounts due to rounding.

Reconciliation of Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA

Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA. Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA is a non-GAAP financial measure which Simply Good Foods defines as the total debt outstanding under our credit agreement with Barclays Bank PLC and other parties (“Credit Agreement”), reduced by cash and cash equivalents, and divided by the trailing twelve months of Adjusted EBITDA, as previously defined.

The following unaudited table below provides a reconciliation of Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA as of August 29, 2026:

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Anfield Energy Inc. (“Anfield” or the “Company”) (TSX.V: AEC; NASDAQ: AEC; FRANKFURT: 0AD) is pleased to provide an update on the license renewal and site preparation activities at its Shootaring Canyon Mill (“Shootaring” or the “Mill”) in Garfield County, Utah. On October 21, 2026, the Utah Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (“DWMRC” or the “Division”) provided the Company with draft copies of both the proposed renewed radioactive materials license for the Mill (the “Draft License”) and the proposed groundwater discharge permit for the Mill (the “Draft Permit”). Shootaring is one of only three licensed, permitted, and constructed conventional uranium mills in the United States and remains central to Anfield’s hub-and-spoke strategy.

Corey Dias, Anfield CEO, commented: “Receiving both the draft renewed license and draft groundwater discharge permit from DWMRC is meaningful progress on the Shootaring reactivation pathway and moves us one significant step closer to securing the renewed license. We appreciate the Division’s continued work on our application and look forward to the 45-day public comment process potentially commencing by the end of 2026.

In the interim, our team continues to remove legacy equipment from the mill under our existing license so that the mill is ready for refurbishment as soon as the renewed license is received, which we are targeting for the second quarter of 2027. Our goal remains to restore domestic conventional uranium and vanadium milling capacity in the United States.”

License Renewal Progress

Receipt of both the Draft License and Draft Permit is an important step in the renewal of the Mill’s radioactive materials license, which the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Anfield Resources Holding Corp., applied for in its application dated April 5, 2024. Anfield has submitted all materials requested by the Division in connection with the application, and these materials and additional responses to the Division’s queries have informed both the Draft License and Draft Permit. The Company is reviewing both documents and expects to discuss them further with Division staff in the coming weeks.

Based on its discussions with Division staff to date, the Company currently anticipates that the documents will be ready for public notice and comment around the end of 2026, with the 45-day public comment period beginning either in late 2026 or early 2027. The timing of the public comment period is determined by the Division and remains subject to change.

Key Terms of the Draft License

As currently drafted, and subject to change before any final decision, the Draft License would, among other things:

  • authorize the possession of natural uranium and 11e.(2) byproduct material at the Shootaring Canyon uranium milling facility; and
  • provide that the mill production rate shall not exceed 1,500 tons – that is, 3 million pounds – of yellowcake per year.

The Draft License would also require the Company to maintain a financial surety and a valid groundwater discharge permit at all times. In addition, it sets out the groundwater monitoring network, compliance monitoring and reporting requirements, and best available technology performance standards for the Mill’s process ponds, South Cell and decontamination pad.

Planned Mill Upgrades

Separately from the terms of the Draft License, the Company’s refurbishment plans for Shootaring target a throughput capacity of 1,000 tons per day and the addition of a new vanadium circuit, supporting the Company’s plan to process both uranium and vanadium ore from multiple project sources through Shootaring as the central hub.

Site Preparation Activities

The Company continues site preparation work within the Mill’s leach area under its existing license. This work focuses on removing equipment that Anfield intends to replace as part of the refurbishment, including leach tanks, associated piping, electrical systems, pumps, motors and related infrastructure.

Subject to the issuance of the renewed license, Anfield is targeting the start of major refurbishment work in the second quarter of 2027. The Company expects the site preparation completed under the existing license to help shorten the overall refurbishment timeline after the renewed license is issued.

Qualified Person

Douglas L. Beahm, P.E., P.G., is the Company’s qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (“NI 43-101”) and has reviewed, verified and approved the scientific and technical information contained in this news release. Mr. Beahm is not independent of the Company, as he is the Company’s Chief Operating Officer.
