COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, September 16 , 2026 – BioPorto A/S (“BioPorto” or “Company”) (CPH: BIOPOR) today announced the enrollment of the first patient as part of the ProNephro AKI U.S. Adult Urine NGAL Validation Study, marking an important milestone in the company’s clinical efforts to expand ProNephro AKI (NGAL) to the adult population. The ProNephro AKI U.S. Adult Urine NGAL Validation Study is designed to validate the clinical performance of ProNephro AKI (NGAL) for risk assessment of moderate to severe Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in adult patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The study follows BioPorto’s recently completed adult AKI cut-off study and represents the next phase of clinical evaluation for a potential adult indication in the United States.

CEO Carsten Buhl commented: “Today’s first patient enrollment marks another major milestone in BioPorto’s strategy to expand ProNephro AKI into the U.S. adult market. Following the successful completion of the AKI cut-off study, we are now advancing into the validation phase with a study designed to enroll approximately 900 patients across leading U.S. hospitals. Together with ProPharma, our clinical research partner from the preceding study, we are taking the critical steps toward generating the clinical evidence needed to support an adult indication in the United States.”

First patient enrollment for the ProNephro AKIU.S. Adult Urine NGAL Validation Study

The first patient in the ProNephro AKI U.S. Adult Urine NGAL Validation Study has been enrolled at Massachusetts General Hospital. The study is expected to enroll approximately 900 patients across multiple U.S. clinical sites, creating a broad and representative clinical dataset to support the expansion of ProNephro AKI (NGAL) to adult patients.

BioPorto Continues with ProPharma as Clinical Research Organization

BioPorto will continue with ProPharma as the Clinical Research Organization in the study, following its involvement in the preceding AKI cut-off study. ProPharma also assisted BioPorto as the Clinical Research Organization in the ProNephro AKI U.S. Adult Urine NGAL cut-off Study.

ProNephro AKI (NGAL) is currently cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patients 3 months through 21 years of age. The ProNephro AK U.S. Adult Urine NGAL Validation Study is intended to support BioPorto’s clinical and regulatory pathway toward a potential adult indication in the United States.

About BioPorto

BioPorto is an in vitro diagnostics company focused on saving lives and improving the quality of life with actionable biomarkers – tools designed to help clinicians make changes in patient management. The Company uses its expertise in antibodies and assay development, as well as its platform for assay development, to create a pipeline of novel and compelling products that focus on conditions where there is significant unmet medical need, and where the Company’s tests can help improve clinical and economic outcomes for patients, providers, and the healthcare ecosystem.

The Company’s flagship products are based on the NGAL biomarker and designed to aid in the risk assessment and diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury, a common clinical syndrome that can have severe consequences, including significant morbidity and mortality, if not identified and treated early. With the aid of NGAL levels, physicians can identify patients potentially at risk of AKI more rapidly than is possible with current standard of care measurements, enabling earlier intervention and more tailored patient management strategies. The Company markets NGAL tests under applicable registrations including CE mark in several countries worldwide.

BioPorto has facilities in Copenhagen, Denmark and Boston, MA, USA. The shares of BioPorto A/S are listed on the Nasdaq Copenhagen stock exchange. For more information visit www.bioporto.com.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Valeura Energy Inc. (TSX:VLE, OTCQX:VLERF) (“Valeura” or the “Company”) announces an exploration discovery near its Manora(1) oil field and completion of a successful development and appraisal drilling campaign on its Jasmine field(2), in the Gulf of Thailand.

      (1)   Block G1/48, 70% operated working interest
      (2)   Block B5/27, 100% operated interest

Dr. Sean Guest, President and CEO commented:
“Our discovery of a new accumulation of oil very nearby our Manora field is a game-changer for Block G1/48. The results for net pay encountered exceed our pre-drill estimates and is likely to justify a new satellite facility development on the block. We are now moving into a development planning phase which will also include appraising the proximal Malida oil field. Additionally, the discovery of new and thicker reservoir sands in this structure points to other exploration upside in the vicinity. We expect that the development of this new field, which will be named ‘Suraphi’ will create a new lease on life for the greater Manora field area, by utilising the existing Manora-A processing facility for more oil than the Manora field alone.

Separately, we have also completed a successful development and appraisal programme on our Jasmine field, where we continue to add producible volumes and identify new opportunities for further organic development.

I am very pleased to see our drilling programme continue delivering value through all facets of operations – development, appraisal, and exploration. With these successes, we are facing an expanded set of organic investment opportunities, while at the same time continuing to pursue aggressively, our inorganic growth ambitions.”

Suraphi Oil Discovery
Valeura discovered the Suraphi field by drilling the Manora-9 open water exploration well and associated sidetracks, approximately 4.5 km to the northeast of its Manora A platform. Several prospects were targeted in the operation, each within a distinct fault block. The E prospect identified several oil-bearing sandstone intervals within the 600-series lacustrine sands, and intersected oil over a gross column measuring 626 ft (162 ft net oil pay). The D prospect encountered a similar oil-bearing reservoir section in the adjacent fault block, within a gross column measuring 849 ft (172 ft net oil pay). A third sidetrack tested a shallower and riskier play which was not hydrocarbon-bearing. However, success in the D and E fault blocks has effectively de-risked a third adjacent fault block (F), which is well-imaged on 3D seismic.

Based on the Company’s mapping, as calibrated by pressure data collected during drilling, there is evidence to suggest that all three fault blocks could be filled to their spill point, thereby constituting a ‘best case scenario’ discovery within these prospects. The Company estimates that even when measured more conservatively, by only considering the deepest oil demonstrated in the wells, the discovery would likely still justify a satellite facility development on the block.

Valeura believes an additional satellite platform to develop the Suraphi field also creates an opportunity to develop the otherwise-stranded Malida field, 3.5 km to the east. In addition, as this oil discovery has encountered a thicker than expected reservoir interval and has demonstrated oil migration into the area, it derisks a number of nearby exploration prospects, thereby adding to the total potential magnitude of this discovery.

This theme is consistent with the characteristics of the Company’s other fields in the Gulf of Thailand, all which have exceeded their original oil recovery expectations through ongoing exploration, appraisal, and development. In addition, by creating a satellite facility tied in to the Manora wellhead and processing platform, Valeura anticipates an extension to the productive life of the Manora field, thereby adding tail oil production which would otherwise be considered uneconomic and not produced.

Valeura is moving immediately into a development planning phase, to establish a plan to maximise the value of the discovery, and to provide scope for future development in the vicinity. Concurrently, the Company will conduct studies to plan for appraisal of the Malida field and to re-evaluate the nearby exploration prospects for inclusion in future drilling campaigns.

Jasmine Development and Appraisal Drilling Success
Prior to the Manora-9 well, Valeura completed a successful development and appraisal drilling campaign on its Jasmine field. A total of four successful wellbores were completed, two on the Jasmine-C platform and two on Jasmine-D. This includes two horizontal development wells and two dual-objective deviated wells drilled for both development and appraisal targets. Both of the multi-objective wells successfully appraised several new zones, which will now be studied as potential future development candidates.

As a result of this drilling campaign, the Company has recorded a net increase in the amount of organic investment opportunities at Jasmine. In addition, the immediate impact has been an up-tick in oil production, offsetting the near-term impact of natural production declines. Oil production rates have increased from approximately 7,570 bbls/d (before royalties) in the seven-day period before the new wells were brought onstream, to rates in the seven-day period after bringing all wells onstream of approximately 8,250 bbls/d (before royalties).

Further Drilling
Valeura will shortly demobilise the Borr Mist drilling rig and subsequently release it from its contract. The Company intends to resume Gulf of Thailand drilling operations in early November 2026, when it begins its charter of the Shelf Drilling Enterprise rig to initially conduct a drilling programme on its Nong Yao field (Block G11/48, 90% operated working interest), followed by development drilling on the Wassana field (Block G10/48, 100% interest).

Businesses accelerate their climate adaptation investments
yet just 15% have fully quantified the financial impact of climate-related risks

  • Nearly 7 in 10 executives are prioritizing climate adaptation to boost business resilience
  • Share of organizations falling behind on net zero goals up to 11% in 2026, from 1% in 2025
  • Access to critical resources is becoming a stronger driver of sustainability decisions than emissions-reduction targets for more than 7 in 10 organizations

Paris, September 16, 2026 – Climate disruption, water stress, resource constraints, and geopolitical volatility are increasing pressure on business operations, supply chains and growth. According to the fifth edition of the Capgemini Research Institute’s A World in Balance: The resilience reset report, organizations are responding by placing greater emphasis on climate adaptation and business resilience1. In addition, nearly two-thirds of organizations say they use AI to advance their sustainability agenda. However, the research also reveals a widening gap between ambition and delivery, as more organizations fall behind on net zero commitments and struggle to measure climate- and AI-related impacts.

Sustainability strategies increasingly focus on resilience, business continuity, and access to critical resources
Nearly nine in 10 organizations report that climate-related events have disrupted their supply chains. In response, 68% of executives say their organization actively prioritizes climate adaptation, up from 56% in 2025. The way business leaders perceive sustainability is evolving, stretching beyond reporting and compliance and increasingly being seen through the lens of measurable business outcomes, resilience, continuity, and access to critical resources. Nearly two-thirds of executives identify energy- and critical-resource security as a key driver of sustainability investment. More than seven in 10 say that securing access to critical resources – including energy, water, and materials – now has greater influence on sustainability decision-making than emissions-reduction targets.

This transition is also reshaping organizations’ strategic priorities, with more than three-quarters of executives saying their organization is accelerating efforts to integrate energy and resource resilience into business and sustainability strategies. Alongside energy security, water-related risks are a growing concern – 61% of executives believe water scarcity will present a greater constraint on business growth than energy availability over the next five years.

While awareness of these risks is growing, operational readiness remains inconsistent. Just 15% of organizations have fully quantified the financial impact of climate-related disruptions, with just over one in four executives say their organization has assessed climate risks across its extended value chain or deployed climate-risk analytics tools or platforms. Nevertheless, there are signs that adaptation capabilities are maturing – the share of executives who say their organization is underprepared for climate impacts has fallen from 54% in 2025 to 44% in 2026.

“Climate change disruptions have become our new normal, and yet there is still a wide gap between business leaders’ awareness of the risks and actual implementation. In order to protect their supply chains, operations, infrastructure, and access to essential energy, water, and materials, they can no longer defer climate action,” said Cyril Garcia, Global head of Sustainability services and Corporate Responsibility, and Member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini. “It is encouraging to see organizations prioritize adaptation and resilience for sustainable growth. But as climate and political risks evolve, organizations must continue to embed sustainability into their core business strategy and day-to-day operations.”

Sustainability investments continue to demonstrate a positive ROI
Nearly seven in 10 organizations say their sustainability initiatives have generated a net-positive return on investment. Almost two-thirds of executives (64%) say sustainability investments have boosted sales, up from 47% in 2025, and 74% acknowledge that sustainable practices have enhanced their brand equity.

Looking ahead, 83% say their organization will increase climate adaptation spending over the next 12-18 months, reflecting a trend that is already visible today: organizations spent 1.04% of revenue on sustainability initiatives last year, exceeding the 0.8% they initially allocated. This investment is also helping organizations manage business disruption, as nearly two-thirds of executives from manufacturing or asset-intensive sectors say these investments have improved operational efficiency under supply constraints, while slightly over half say they have enhanced their ability to anticipate and respond to operational and supply-chain disruptions.

Businesses struggle to follow through with their net zero commitments
While most organizations have sustainability goals, the research suggests that implementation remains challenging. In 2026, 84% of organizations say they have set science-based targets, up three points since 2025. Yet only 42% say they are on track to meet their 2030 or interim targets. The execution gap is particularly visible in net zero programs. The number of organizations falling behind on their net zero goals has increased more than tenfold since last year. Moreover, 29% say they have postponed their net zero objectives, compared with just 8% last year.

Nearly two-thirds of organizations acknowledge that aligning sustainability efforts with science-based targets is challenging. Data availability, measurement, and value-chain visibility remain challenging. The proportion of organizations able to measure and collect data across all Scope 3 emissions has fallen to 34%, from 54% in 2025, underscoring the difficulty of tracking and managing emissions beyond direct operations.

AI supports sustainability initiatives, but environmental impact is hard to measure
AI is also increasingly considered as a tool to help turn sustainability ambition into action. Nearly two-thirds of organizations say they use AI to advance their sustainability agenda, and more than a third use or plan to use agentic AI for sustainability initiatives. At the same time, the environmental implications of AI are increasingly being recognized at senior levels. Seven in 10 organizations say AI’s sustainability implications are discussed in the boardroom.

However, oversight and disclosure of the technology remain limited. Nearly half of executives say AI has significantly increased greenhouse gas emissions. Yet concern about AI’s environmental impact appears to be outpacing organizations’ ability to measure it: just over a third of executives say their organization measures the energy consumption of AI systems and workloads, and the associated carbon footprint.
