TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Honda and the Honda USA Foundation today announced more than $16.5 million in charitable giving to 223 individual programs led by nonprofit organizations and schools across the country that align with Honda core values and the company’s deep commitment to driving meaningful change. The contributions are part of the annual funding cycle for charitable giving, focusing on programmatic support for national and local organizations that serve communities where Honda associates live and work, and are expected to positively impact more than 35 million individuals.

Honda corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity is guided by five strategic pillars: Education, Environment, Mobility, Traffic Safety, and Community, each representing a key area where Honda aims to drive meaningful societal change.

“Honda charitable giving efforts are rooted in powering dreams and improving lives in the communities where we live and work,” said Bobbie Trittschuh, charitable giving manager for Honda and executive director for the Honda USA Foundation. “Through these contributions, we’re proud to support programming creating long-term, sustainable impact in key areas that align with Honda core values.”

Honda and the Honda USA Foundation’s support for these initiatives expands access to education, reduces environmental impact, enhances mobility for all, advances traffic safety, and uplifts local communities. Several notable programs were funded this year, including those featured below.

Education

To inspire the next generation of leaders and cultivate a future-ready workforce, Honda supports programs that build skills in design, engineering, production, and information technology. This funding is estimated to provide millions of hours of education and training to hundreds of thousands of individuals in local communities. Through these partnerships, Honda is helping young people discover pathways to success.

  • TechPoint Youth brings hands-on STEM activities to girls, underrepresented communities, and students from low-income backgrounds. Funding from Honda will allow TechPoint to serve schools in counties near the Honda Indiana Auto Plant and will be used to create new robotics teams, outreach, and recruitment.
  • West Central Ohio Career Network supports initiatives that connect students and schools to industry experts, encouraging students to explore the world of manufacturing. Funds received will be used to provide resources that help inspire the next generation through job shadowing and internships.
  • The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB), a longstanding Honda partner, provides education, rehabilitation, and support services for individuals who are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind, or multi-disabled. Honda support will allow AIDB to enhance its modern manufacturing program, empowering its students to pursue careers in industry and entrepreneurship, and educate tens of thousands of students in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and electric vehicle technology.

Environment

Toward its ambitious goals of decarbonization, clean energy, and resource circulation to reduce the environmental impact of its products and business operations, Honda supports habitat preservation, clean energy workforce development, and community-based sustainability efforts. Honda support helps reduce and prevent hundreds of thousands of metric tons of CO₂ emissions, generate millions of kilowatt hours of clean energy, and conserve vital resources such as water and compostable materials, improving the quality of life for local communities across the country.

  • The Nature Conservancy is a global leader in environmental conservation. With a relationship that spans nearly thirty years, the current funding from Honda will support critical habitat preservation and resilience projects to protect the planet.
  • GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles is a leading voice in low-income solar policy and the nation’s largest nonprofit solar installer. Funding from Honda will support a 13-week Installation Basics Training program, which engages young people in green career opportunities within the solar industry.

Mobility

Honda believes that mobility should be accessible to all, and the Honda USA Foundation supports programs that empower all people to fulfill their life’s potential, remove barriers, and expand access and opportunities to individuals with disabilities. This year’s awardees will positively impact tens of thousands of individuals annually through more than thousands of mobility modifications, therapeutic and adaptive services, and comprehensive care support services. These programs aim to enhance the joy and freedom of mobility, regardless of physical or developmental challenges.

  • Camp Twin Lakes in Georgia provides experiences for children with serious illnesses and disabilities. Through the Honda USA Foundation’s support of fully adaptive and medically supportive camp activities, children gain essential skills to navigate daily challenges more independently, while also fostering wellness, belonging, self-acceptance, and confidence.
  • Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center in North Carolina provides equine-assisted therapy. The Honda USA Foundation grant will support activities that help improve balance, coordination, motor development, self-confidence and executive function development for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses.

Traffic Safety

Building on its global “Safety for Everyone” philosophy and ambitious vision of zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda and Acura vehicles, Honda supports programs that promote safe driving, biking, and pedestrian practices. Programs funded by Honda are expected to deliver tens of millions of hours of safety education, distribute hundreds of thousands of safety products, and reach millions more through public awareness campaigns.

  • Safe Kids Worldwide is a global nonprofit dedicated to preventing childhood injuries through research, education, and advocacy. Funding from Honda will support key programming in teen driver, pedestrian and bicycle safety, equipping thousands of individuals with life-saving knowledge and safety devices.
  • The Texas A&M Foundation Teens in the Driver Seat® program is a peer-to-peer traffic safety initiative that empowers young people and promotes safe driving habits, aiming to reduce teen crashes and improve roadway safety. Honda support will help educate thousands of young drivers.

Community

Honda believes in empowering communities across America and supports programs that address critical needs. These programs are expected to support social services, disaster preparedness and response, and food security, and provide proactive and strategic opportunities for Honda associates to engage in local communities.

The Pre-Series A Funding Marks Transition from Breakthrough Research to Prototyping, Validates LENR as a Scalable Clean Energy Alternative

HYDERABAD, India, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — HYLENR, a clean energy startup harnessing patented Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (LENR) to develop scalable, carbon-free heat energy systems for industrial heat and power, today announced the successful closure of around USD 3.0 Million strategic Pre-Series A funding round to accelerate product commercialisation.

The round was led by Valour Capital and Chhattisgarh Investments Limited, early-stage investors focused on deep-tech/energy transition technologies. Individual investors Karthik Sundar Iyer and Anant Sarda also participated. PwC served as the company’s advisor on the transaction, while Samvad Partners was their legal advisor.

The fresh capital injection enables HYLENR to fast-track from pilot to market launch, signaling growing investor confidence in LENR as a viable alternative to fossil fuels amid rising interest in its breakthrough heat energy amplification and scalable commercial systems.

Karan Goshar, Partner at Valour Capital, commented, “HYLENR’s LENR technology is disruptive; it represents a leap forward in redefining how the world approaches industrial heat and energy generation. What excites us most is the scalability and safety profile of their systems, coupled with the perfect mix of technological and entrepreneurial expertise within the team, which positions HYLENR to play a key role in the global energy transition. We are thrilled to back a team delivering transformative technology.”

“We believe LENR has the potential to be the safest and most energy-efficient thermal and electrical generation technology of the future,” said Siddhartha Durairajan, Chairman and Managing Director of HYLENR. Adding, “Our recent lab results show unprecedented energy gain ratios, and this round gives us the momentum to focus on our product roadmap. We have begun early proof-of-concept tests, with several government bodies and large corporations showing interest in our LENR systems. The next phase will focus on scaling manufacturing and expanding globally.”

“This round is a vote of confidence in both our technology and our mission,” expressed Ram Ramaseshan, Co-Founder, Executive Director and CEO of HYLENR. “We have moved beyond proof-of-concept into a phase where LENR can begin to address real-world energy challenges. This funding allows us to accelerate product development and market reach, addressing industry needs for clean, high-yield thermal and electrical energy solutions in the US, Europe, India and Japan markets.”

Pilot projects are already underway with leading government institutions and industrial players, aimed at replacing conventional fossil-based systems with sustainable, next-generation alternatives. The company’s product pipeline includes products ranging from 7.2KW for domestic consumption all the way to 1MW for large-scale industrial applications.

With its next fundraising round of USD 25 Million targeted with strategic investors and with Clean Energy focused funds from the U.S. and Europe, HYLENR aims to build on this momentum and expand its R&D, engineering, and international partnerships. The company is seeking mission-aligned investors who recognize LENR as a foundational pillar of the post-carbon energy era.

The inspiration for LENR technology comes from HYLENR’s Chief Innovation Officer, Padma Shri Dr. Prahlada, renowned as the Missile Man of India for his work on the Akash missile, and Dr. Varaprasad, the company’s Chief Scientific Officer.

About HYLENR Technologies

Founded in 2024 and based in Hyderabad, HYLENR Technologies is at the forefront of next-generation energy innovation. The company’s proprietary LENR-based hybrid heat systems aim to revolutionize thermal energy generation across industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, district heating, and clean water desalination. Their breakthroughs in LENR are now protected by two patents — one for the product architecture, and another for the underlying process innovation. https://www.hylenr.com

ADNOC Gas on track for entry into FTSE Index in September 2025

ABU DHABI, UAE, Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — ADNOC Gas plc and its subsidiaries (together referred to as “ADNOC Gas” or the “Company”) (ADX: ADNOCGAS) (ISIN: AEE01195A234), a world-class integrated gas processing and sales company, today announced Q2 2025 results, with net income rising by 16% year-on-year (YoY) to a record $1.385 billion and EBITDA increasing by 8% YoY to $2.256 billion.

ADNOC Gas Logo

Q2 2025 saw a strong performance across ADNOC Gas’ product portfolio, especially in the local gas market. The Company serves local customers under long-term contracts with competitive prices and improved underlying margins. ADNOC Gas also capitalized on opportunities to sell additional volumes at favourable prices, in the local gas market and in the export market as Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). The Q2 results show that the Company’s product portfolio is resilient to oil price volatility.

The Board of Directors approved an interim dividend of $1.792 billion, up 5% YoY, scheduled for distribution in September.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas, said: “We are pleased to report the highest quarterly net income in ADNOC Gas’ history, fueled by our strong local market business and improved operational efficiency. This performance shows that we are well on our way to achieving our ambition of over 40% EBITDA growth between 2023 and 2029*, as outlined in our strategy update last November. With healthy cashflows and robust margins, we remain well-positioned for long-term growth, and our resilient business model continues to deliver strong returns.”

In the first half of 2025, ADNOC Gas increased Capex by 49% YoY. The Company made significant progress with its strategic initiatives, including the $5 billion Final Investment Decision on the first phase of its Rich Gas Development project (RGD), which takes the committed Capex to $20 billion.

In the near and medium term, the Company expects to deliver the Integrated Gas Development Expansion – Phase 2 (IGDE-2), Maximizing Ethane Recovery and Monetization (MERAM), and to take the investment decision on the remaining two phases of the RGD project.

Furthermore, ADNOC Gas is progressing other growth projects, like the Ruwais LNG project to capture an increasing share of the LNG market. LNG is a valuable and growing part of the Company’s product portfolio.

Overall, the growth projects will further strengthen ADNOC Gas’ product portfolio allowing for additional revenue streams and improved margins.

Following its inclusion in the MSCI Emerging Markets Index in June 2025, ADNOC Gas experienced a significant net capital inflow of approximately $500 million. The Company is now on course to join the FTSE Index in September 2025, with market estimates of added inflows of over $200 million, further elevating its global investment profile and diversifying its investor base, thereby significantly enhancing liquidity and trading volumes.

GENEVA, Aug. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples faced calls to launch an independent investigation into the systemic mistreatment, exploitation, and violence faced by Indigenous women and girls across Canada today as international human rights expert J.R. Howell, a US-based attorney, filed a formal complaint.

Howell outlines a deeply troubling pattern of state-sponsored racism, gender-based violence, and child separation…

The filing calls out the failure of law enforcement to search the landfill where a serial killer disposed of the remains of four Indigenous women he murdered, Ashlee Shingoose, Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, and Rebecca Contois. The complaint also targeted the government’s failure to search for Tanya Nepinak, who was murdered more than 10 years ago and whose remains are still in the landfill. Howell made the filing with the United Nations on behalf of the affected families and human rights defenders who were targeted and harassed by government officials in their efforts to call for a search of the missing women.

In the filing, Howell outlines a deeply troubling pattern of state-sponsored racism, gender-based violence, and child separation—practices that he argues amount to ongoing cultural genocide.

“Indigenous women and girls are still being trafficked, abused, and murdered—with impunity,” Howell said.

The complaint draws attention to multiple human rights violations, including the disproportionate rates of murder, abduction, and trafficking among Indigenous women and girls, and systemic failures by Canadian law enforcement to investigate these crimes. Howell also argues that historic and ongoing separation of Indigenous children from their families through biased child welfare systems and covert relocation and re-education strategies have deprived Canada’s Indigenous people of their human rights in violation of numerous international laws, including the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Canada’s domestic legal systems have failed these communities,” said Howell. “International scrutiny is now necessary.”

Howell calls on the Special Rapporteur to:

  • Launch an urgent investigation into the Canadian government’s role in systemic abuses against Indigenous peoples;
  • Host listening sessions with victims and families in First Nations territories; and
  • Encourage international oversight and reporting on missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG).

Howell, whose legal career has spanned work in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, is also producing a documentary film on the subject, amplifying first-person accounts of Indigenous survivors and the families of missing women and children.

This filing follows Howell’s recent testimony to the California State Assembly on state surveillance practices and is part of his broader mission to combat institutional harm and expand accountability for marginalized communities.

General Matter Signs Lease to Revive Dormant Paducah Enrichment Site

PADUCAH, Ky., Aug. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — General Matter is bringing uranium enrichment back to the United States, starting at the site where the U.S. enrichment industry was born.

General Matter Signs Lease to Revive Dormant Paducah Enrichment Site

General Matter, the American uranium enrichment company, proposed a plan in coordination with the Department of Energy, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the local Paducah community to build a commercial uranium enrichment facility at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Paducah, Kentucky.

The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant was the first location where the U.S. industrialized enrichment technology, enabling the eventual widespread adoption of commercial nuclear power.

“Today’s announcement marks a significant step in the Department’s fulfillment of Secretary Wright’s vision of ensuring reliable, affordable, and secure energy for all Americans,” said Deputy Secretary of Energy James P. Danly.

This proposed enrichment facility will produce the fuel needed for the next generation of nuclear energy, central to America’s aspirations in AI, manufacturing, and other critical industries. The plant will also offset a large percentage of foreign imports from adversarial countries, saving the U.S. approximately $500M per year. In addition, it will bring significant economic benefits to the Paducah community, employing 140 people in well-paid, locally sourced jobs. The plant will be the anchor for over $1B in potential investment in the local area, and will catalyze the growth of the nuclear and manufacturing industries in Paducah and broader Western Kentucky.

“I want to congratulate the team at General Matter on this major step toward what would be the largest economic investment ever for Western Kentucky,” said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. “This lease reflects Kentucky’s leadership in nuclear energy and our strong partnerships at the federal and local levels, as well as in the private sector. I am looking forward to being back in Paducah soon to celebrate the next key milestone for this exciting and historic project.”

“Sooner or later, I think America will understand that domestic use of nuclear energy is the way forward,” shared U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell during his remarks at the announcement ceremony. “All of you here deserve a round of applause for creating the kind of environment that would attract the plants of the future. I’m looking forward to witnessing what happens. Like I said, this is a big deal.”

“This is great news for Paducah, McCracken County, and the entire western Kentucky region,” added U.S. Senator Rand Paul. “I look forward to continuing to support the community as this project moves forward and to seeing new job opportunities and investment take root on this site and throughout the Commonwealth.”

“What a great day for West Kentucky, and what a great day for America,” said U.S. Congressman James Comer during his remarks at the announcement ceremony. “I’ve been in Congress almost nine years. This is the first time in my nine years that I’ve been at an event where both U.S. Senators, the U.S. Representative, and the Governor are all in attendance to celebrate the same thing.” Congressman Comer continued: “You can’t have economic development without energy, and that’s what we’re here to see today.”

“Seventy-five years ago, the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission selected Paducah to help lead the nation’s original enrichment efforts,” said General Matter CEO Scott Nolan. “We are proud to return to and reactivate this historic site to power a new era of American energy independence, and we thank our partners in Kentucky and at the DOE’s Office of Environmental Management and the Office of Nuclear Energy for supporting us in this landmark investment in American nuclear infrastructure.”

General Matter is the first privately-funded American company to develop uranium enrichment technology. The company was selected by the DOE as an awardee in both its LEU and HALEU enrichment acquisition programs, and it plans to be enriching uranium at the Paducah site by the end of the decade.

Enrichment is a safe, proven process that involves only separation processes, and zero nuclear or chemical reactions. Strict safety and environmental standards would be followed during development and operation, under oversight from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission during the licensing process.

About General Matter: General Matter is enriching uranium in America to reshore domestic nuclear fuel capacity and power the American energy production needed to lead in AI, manufacturing, and other critical industries. General Matter is backed by Founders Fund, the first institutional investor in SpaceX, Palantir, and Anduril. The company brings together a team of American experts and engineers, recruited from across the U.S. with deep backgrounds in nuclear, tech, and government. General Matter focuses on speed, accountability, and transparency to deliver real progress in clean energy and national security. Their work is designed to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign fuel and power America’s future.
