COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Nov. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — DCAI, a leading AI infrastructure provider operating Gefion, one of Europe’s most powerful AI supercomputers, today announced a strategic collaboration between Siemens Gamesa and Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI), marking the launch of Denmark’s first sovereign industrial AI program powered by the Denmark’s AI supercomputer Gefion.

The collaboration brings together Siemens Gamesa’s framework of engineering expertise through several use cases and state-of-the-art, Danish-hosted AI infrastructure, enabling large-scale AI-driven optimization of critical industrial and energy systems.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov, highlighted the importance of the initiative:

“Gefion is a gamechanger for Danish business. The supercomputer boosts the efficiency of Danish companies and is already an important player in the fight against climate change. Now Siemens Gamesa is leading the way as the first industrial company in Denmark adopting large scale AI. This will allow the company to finely tune its wind turbine development, and it is a major step forward for both Danish manufacturing and our green stronghold.”

Industrial AI Use Cases: Smarter, Greener Wind Energy

The first project under the collaboration will apply AI and machine learning to optimize large scale wind energy infrastructure, an area crucial to both industrial efficiency and the green transition.

Using Gefion’s unprecedented computing power, Siemens Gamesa’s engineers will develop and train advanced AI models capable of:

  1. Analysing entire wind farms in minutes instead of days, allowing operators to simulate and optimize energy output faster than the traditional methods.
  2. Predicting and minimizing energy losses using AI-based airflow models, reducing computation time, unlocking new optimization strategies for wind farms.
  3. Improving maintenance and reliability through AI-based condition monitoring, using real-time and historical operational data from wind farms to predict faults before they happen.

These innovations will lead to more efficient turbine designs, lower maintenance costs, and increased energy production, directly supporting Denmark’s ambition to accelerate industrial innovation and support the green transition.

“The European wind industry has been, and continues to be, a leader in technological innovation, and Siemens Gamesa is proud to be among the companies that pioneered this sector, said Vinod Philip, Executive Vice President for Wind Power in Siemens Energy. “Over the past few decades, our developments have established wind energy as one of the most important sources of electricity, particularly in Europe but also around the world. The rapid evolution would not have been possible without the use of industrial AI. We are therefore pleased to utilize Denmark’s flagship AI supercomputer Gefion. Research and development are the backbone of our competitiveness. Using Gefion’s state-of-the-art AI capabilities and AI-supported product development will allow us to further realize the potential of wind power. Societies will greatly benefit from this.”

Powered by Gefion, Europe’s Leading Sovereign AI Supercomputer

The collaboration will run on Gefion, hosted entirely in Denmark and powered by NVIDIA DGX systems and the WEKA high-performance data platform, enabling:

  • Faster training and inference for industrial-scale AI
  • Full data sovereignty and security compliant architecture
  • Energy-efficient operations powered by renewable energy

“Industrial AI is redefining how the world’s infrastructure is built and operated, and welcoming Siemens Gamesa as a customer reflects how rapidly this transformation is taking place, said Nadia Carlsten, CEO of DCAI. “As the energy transition accelerates, customers need AI partners that can deliver reliability, scale, and long-term vision. We’re proud to bring our advanced AI capabilities to Siemens Gamesa, empowering their teams to optimize performance, accelerate innovation, and redefine what is possible in renewable energy.”

Nationally televised performance will launch The Salvation Army’s 135th Red Kettle Campaign

FRISCO, Texas, Nov. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Nine-time diamond-certified global superstar Post Malone will perform this year’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Airing on CBS at 3:30 p.m. CST Nov. 27, 2025, the live performance marks the official launch of The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign and puts a national spotlight on the urgent needs of millions during the holiday season and all year long.

Now in its 29th year, the Red Kettle Kickoff is a Texas-sized Cowboys tradition for one of the largest, longest-running annual fundraisers of its kind. The iconic halftime show issues a rallying cry to donate to The Salvation Army’s work in communities nationwide.

With his Texas roots, the halftime show is more than a performance for Malone. When he was young, Malone’s family moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex after his father, Rich Post, took a job with the Dallas Cowboys as the assistant director of food and beverage at AT&T Stadium and remained close with the Gene and Jerry Jones family and the Cowboys organization.

“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” said Post Malone. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

“The Red Kettle Campaign is more than a tradition — it’s a lifeline,” said Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and former national advisory board chairman for The Salvation Army. “Every ring of a bell is a reminder that small acts of generosity can spark real joy. We’re proud to stand with The Salvation Army once again and are so excited for our biggest fan, Post Malone, to share his immense talent and energy with fans nationwide.”

As the nation’s largest private provider of social services, The Salvation Army operates more than 7,400 centers across the country, uniquely positioning the organization to address local needs with programs tailored to each community. Relying on the generosity of public support, The Salvation Army provides food, housing, and a range of other services year-round to nearly 28 million people.

“For nearly three decades, the Dallas Cowboys and the Gene and Jerry Jones family have been dedicated partners to The Salvation Army,” said Commissioner Merle Heatwole, national commander of The Salvation Army in the United States. “Their unwavering commitment has helped bring hope and care to our most vulnerable neighbors, and we’re deeply thankful to Post Malone for helping us kick off the holiday season.”

This year, the need is great. Both traditionally vulnerable populations and those facing new and unexpected hardships are especially impacted as economic uncertainty continues.

Every donation stays in the community in which it’s given to provide help and hope for those in need. Donations of every amount contribute to creating a powerful and lasting impact.

The following options are available for those wishing to support their neighbors in need:

  • Donate cash, coins, or checks at any Red Kettle.
  • Give a one-time or monthly sustaining gift at Give.SalvationArmyUSA.org.

Grundy County State’s Attorney Provides Perspective

MORRIS, Ill., Nov. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Following the Illinois Legislature’s recent Energy Omnibus Bill passage, leaders from Grundy County and ECA Solar say the new statutory language confirms county authority over solar project siting in unincorporated Morris.

Grundy County State’s Attorney Russ Baker noted that the county followed its established procedures in reviewing the proposed project.

“While we respect the city of Morris’ position, we were surprised Morris decided to pursue litigation,” said Russ Baker, State’s Attorney for Grundy County. “The proposed solar development is located outside city limits and within Grundy County’s jurisdiction, and the County’s approval process was conducted lawfully and in accordance with all applicable zoning and procedural requirements.”

The Energy Omnibus Bill, which Governor JB Pritzker has indicated he will sign, amends the Illinois Counties Code to specify that counties may regulate the siting of commercial solar energy facilities in unincorporated areas outside municipal zoning jurisdiction. The bill states: “A county may also regulate the siting of commercial solar energy facilities with standards that are not more restrictive than the requirements specified in this Section in unincorporated areas of the county that are outside of the zoning jurisdiction of a municipality.” (page 466)

ECA Solar stated that the legislation provides additional statutory guidance as ongoing legal proceedings continue.

“In our view, this new statute helps clarify the framework for solar siting in Illinois,” said Todd Fryatt, Founder and CEO of ECA Solar. “We believe it supports our long-standing position on the jurisdictional boundaries related to this project, and we look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with state and local partners.”

The City of Morris is set to respond to ECA Solar’s motion to dismiss on November 20, with ECA Solar’s reply due December 5.

“Our focus remains on advancing clean-energy investment, supporting landowners, and partnering with local governments,” Fryatt added.

About ECA Solar

Independently owned and operated for over eleven years, ECA Solar develops community-scale solar projects that deliver measurable benefits to local economies, landowners, and the environment. With over 1.3 GW of clean-energy assets in development, ECA Solar partners with investors and local governments to expand renewable-energy access responsibly and efficiently. PHOENIX, Nov. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) has been selected by the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation (DOR) to lead the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and cultural resources compliance processes for the federal designation of the High Desert Trail.

The High Desert Trail, spanning more than 700 miles across western Utah, is a collaborative effort among state agencies, local governments, federal land managers and trail user groups. The project aims to create a resilient, well-maintained trail that enhances recreation, supports tourism, and boosts the economies of the communities along the route.

The trail traverses seven counties, multiple Bureau of Land Management field offices, and U.S. Forest Service lands. It features diverse landscapes, multi-use access, and numerous points of interest. While the trail currently consists of existing public roads, formal recognition by federal land management partners will allow each county to designate staging areas, coordinate maintenance, and add signage—improving the user experience while safeguarding sensitive natural and cultural resources.

“We’re excited to partner with the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation and their county partners,” said Gretchen Semerad, senior environmental planner at SWCA. “Our Salt Lake City team not only works here, but plays here, too, giving us an in-depth understanding of local land management. It’s a privilege to apply our expertise to the places where we recreate with our families and friends.”

In providing support to the DOR, SWCA will facilitate a public comment period, agency meetings, conduct cultural resources surveys, identify issues, complete a comprehensive impact analysis, prepare an environmental assessment, and catalog and analyze public comments. SWCA has completed over 560 NEPA-related documents and over 300 cultural resources projects in Utah in the past five years.

CHICAGO, Nov. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — National partners of Feeding America are joining together this holiday season to support neighbors facing hunger. Several partners, including Amazon Fresh, Carhartt & Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, Crate & Barrel Holdings, Food Lion, Fresh Thyme Market, Maverik, Walmart and Wawa are giving back to make sure every family has what they need to celebrate.

Across the country, people are working hard to keep their families nourished during the holidays, even as they navigate SNAP disruptions, missed paychecks from the government shutdown and the highest food insecurity rate in a decade. The Feeding America network is working alongside local communities and companies to help every family gather around a full table this holiday season.

“People experiencing hunger want the same thing we all want for ourselves during the holidays, the opportunity to gather with families to celebrate our traditions,” said Casey Marsh, chief development officer at Feeding America. “As more people turn to food banks for support this year, we’re grateful for our partners and supporters whose generosity and commitment helps to ensure everyone can feel the same peace of mind we all want this holiday season.”

Here are the many ways shoppers can help people facing hunger during the holidays:

  • Amazon Fresh

. From Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, Amazon Fresh will donate $0.10 from each purchase of any Amazon Grocery, Amazon Fresh, Aplenty, Amazon Saver, or 365 by Whole Foods Market brand product by a customer online in the Amazon Fresh storefront and in an Amazon Fresh store located in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

  • Carhartt & Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation. Carhartt & the All Within My Hands Foundation are making more meals possible year-round through their Giving Tuesday campaign celebrating the farmers across the country who help make holiday meals possible. Together they will make a combined gift of $500k supporting Feeding America as part of their “Making the Holidays Possible” campaign.

  • Crate & Barrel Holdings.
Across Crate & Barrel Holdings’ family of brands, customers will have the opportunity to donate to Feeding America in stores and online from November 13 – December 25, 2025. Its brands, including Crate & Barrel, Crate & Kids, CB2, and Hudson Grace, will also donate a designated amount for every purchase made of select items benefiting Feeding America.

  • Food Lion

. From Nov. 5 – Dec. 9, you can join Food Lion in fighting hunger this holiday season by buying a Holiday Food Box or making a cash donation. For every box sold, Food Lion will donate to their local Feeding America partner food bank.

  • Fresh Thyme Market

. Give hope this season with Fresh Thyme Market by donating at the register or selecting a food drive bag that helps provide essentials: $5 donation for a produce bag, $10 donation for a grocery bag or $15 donation for a body care bag.

  • Maverik

. To kick off the Round Up Your Change Campaign, Maverik recently donated $1million dollars to Feeding America partner food banks throughout Maverik’s 20-state footprint. When people visit any Maverik between now and Dec. 3, they’ll have the option to round up their cash or credit transaction to the nearest dollar, or more.

  • Walmart

. Many families are feeling the need this season – and we can make a difference. From Nov. 3 – 26, Walmart and Sam’s Club will match every customer register donation to support local Feeding America partner food banks — up to $5 million — doubling the impact. Together, we can make a real difference in our communities.

  • Wawa

. The Wawa Foundation is partnering with Feeding America from Oct. 27 – Dec. 28. Wawa customers can round up their purchases at self-checkout or donate at the register to support local food banks. Donations collected at Wawa stores for this in-store fundraising campaign will go to The Wawa Foundation nonprofit partners, including Feeding America and Feeding America partner food banks that serve each store’s community.

Help build a future where everyone has food on the table and hope to share. To make a difference this season, visit FeedingAmerica.org/Holiday to give, or contact your local food bank to learn how you can support our neighbors during the holidays and throughout the year.
