Project supports the Reimagine Middle Branch initiative, restores

coastal ecosystem

and

improves water quality.

BALTIMORE, Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — MedStar Health has launched a major collaborative wetland restoration effort that is transforming more than 2,000 linear feet of degraded shoreline along the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River and reestablishes approximately seven acres of diverse coastal ecosystem. The MedStar Harbor Hospital Wetlands Project, part of the broader Reimagine Middle Branch Plan, will help reduce flood risk by absorbing storm surges, improve water quality by filtering pollutants, and re-establish vital ecosystem and green space that were once prominent along South Baltimore’s waterfront.

The project is part of the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative (MBRI), the restoration arm of the Reimagine Middle Branch Plan adopted by the City of Baltimore in 2023. The initiative seeks to reconnect South Baltimore communities with a cleaner, greener waterfront and to one another. Developed in 2019 through a partnership between the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), GreenVest, LLC, and MedStar Harbor Hospital’s Green & Wellness Team, the project was made possible through MedStar Harbor’s land access and collaboration to secure funding and approvals, helping launch this early phase of the MBRI.

This project, expected to be completed by the end of 2026, represents a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being. Restoring wetlands strengthen coastal resilience while supporting a healthier ecosystem and increased waterfront greenspace for generations to come.

“MedStar Harbor Hospital has always been a proud neighbor in South Baltimore, and this project is an investment in our community’s health and future,” said Jill Donaldson, president of MedStar Harbor Hospital and senior vice president of MedStar Health. “We’re very excited to see this project underway. It means restoring the wetlands that once thrived along this shoreline, reducing the floods that have plagued South Baltimore, and improving the quality of water that flows into the Chesapeake Bay. It’s creating a living landscape for our patients, their families, our associates, and the community.”

“MedStar Harbor Hospital has been an incredible partner in advancing the vision of a healthier, more resilient South Baltimore,” said Brad Rogers, executive director of the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership. “Their leadership made it possible to launch the ambitious campaign to restore over 50 acres of wetlands in the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River. It’s a great example of local institutions stepping up for the environment and their neighbors.”

The MedStar Harbor Hospital Wetlands Project involves restoring wetlands and other habitat features using stone, sand, wood, and native vegetation. Work will occur Monday through Friday during regular business hours. While some construction noise and truck deliveries are expected, there will be no major traffic impacts. The parking lot south of the hospital and a short section of the adjoining trail will be temporarily closed during construction.

Before this effort began, wetlands had largely disappeared from this portion of the river. Their return will re-establish critical habitat for fish, birds, and native plants while improving stormwater management and coastal resilience.

“The Reimagine Middle Branch plan is about creating a stronger, more connected waterfront for all of Baltimore,” said Brian Gray, director of clinical engineering at MedStar Harbor, and the hospital’s sustainability officer. “Projects like this one at MedStar Harbor Hospital show how environmental restoration and community well-being can go hand in hand.”

Design for MedStar Harbor Hospital Wetlands was made possible with funding from Baltimore County, the Federal Emergency Management Agency in partnership with Maryland Department of Emergency Management, and through a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, with support from AT&T and NOAA. Construction of this site is made possible by funding from the Maryland Department of the Environment in partnership with Baltimore City Department of Public Works, Baltimore County, and Maryland’s Whole Watershed Act and Fund.

Packers tight end Luke Musgrave helps celebrate the 5th year of the “Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch” campaign, benefiting charities across Northeast Wisconsin.

APPLETON, Wis., Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave joined representatives from Tork®, an Essity® brand, the Green Bay Packers and Rawhide Youth Services to celebrate a donation of $25,000 in sustainable hygiene products to Rawhide Youth Services.

The donation is the result of the 5th annual “Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch” campaign, which ran through the first five home games of the Packers’ 2025 season and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of hand hygiene and sustainability. For every completed reception during those games, Tork pledged to donate $250 worth of sustainably produced hygiene products, including paper towel rolls and toilet paper, to Rawhide Youth Services.

With 100 catches recorded in the first five home games, the campaign generated $25,000 in essential hygiene products for Rawhide’s residential and community-based programs. This brings the total donated by Tork through “Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch” over the last five seasons to $136,750 in sustainable hygiene products for local charities in Northeast Wisconsin and the Milwaukee area.

“Each season, ‘Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch’ gives our fans another reason to cheer,” said Justin Wolf, Director of Corporate Partnerships Sales & Activations for the Green Bay Packers. “We’re proud to work with Tork and Rawhide Youth Services to turn on-field success into real impact for kids and families across Wisconsin.”

Maintaining clean, hygienic environments is critical at large venues like Lambeau Field, which welcomes more than 80,000 fans on gameday, as well as in community organizations that serve youth and families. “Together with the Packers, we are proud to spearhead community initiatives like ‘Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch’ to deliver hygienic experiences to fans while giving back to organizations like Rawhide,” said Cindy Stilp, Marketing Communications Director at Essity.

During the visit, Musgrave toured Rawhide’s New London campus, including the Bart and Cherry Starr Museum, and spent time meeting with youth and staff to learn more about the programs co-founded by John and Jan Gillespie and Packers legend Bart Starr and his wife, Cherry Starr.

“Rawhide is honored to be this year’s ‘Tackle Hygiene with Every Catch’ recipient,” said Alan Loux, president and CEO of Rawhide Youth Services. “These sustainable hygiene products help us provide a safe, healthy and dignified environment for the youth in our care, so they can focus on healing, learning and building a better future.”

MOUNT DORA, Fla., Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — When national breast cancer organizations turned them away, Florida-based Vedder Holsters found a better solution: giving directly to someone who needed it. The concealed carry manufacturer donated over $10,000 to a local woman battling breast cancer, bypassing several charities that refused to partner with a Second Amendment company.

In September, as the company planned its Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, staff reached out to three prominent national breast cancer organizations about a potential partnership. Two rejected them outright, citing that the Second Amendment-adjacent company was “not a good fit.” The third never responded.

Rather than abandon the idea, Vedder Holsters changed its approach: bypass the large charity middleman and donate directly to someone fighting breast cancer. Their search led them to a local public servant and mother in the community who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, and they decided to help.

Throughout October, the company pledged $1 for every sale and $2 for sales including a pink holster, ultimately raising $11,902. The full amount went directly to the woman’s GoFundMe campaign, helping surpass her $30,000 goal to cover medical expenses, lost wages, household bills and childcare.

The campaign’s success was driven by Vedder Holsters’ customers, whose October purchases proved that meaningful change doesn’t require permission from institutions that choose ideology over impact. The company will continue supporting causes it believes in, undeterred by those who let politics stand in the way of doing good.

“It is unfortunate that the organizations we reached out to turned down a partnership due to Vedder being connected to the Second Amendment. Our goal was to make an impact, donate to a good cause and inspire others to do the same. However, despite the setback of being rejected by multiple organizations, we pivoted, and every dollar went directly to someone in the 2A community who is fighting her own brave battle against breast cancer. Our customers made that possible, and we are thankful for their support,” Vedder Holsters Co-owner Brooke Vedder said.

About Vedder Holsters

Vedder Holsters is a family-owned American manufacturer specializing in premium handcrafted Kydex holsters and concealed carry accessories. Founded in 2012 by Mike and Brooke Vedder, the Central Florida company serves responsible firearm owners nationwide.

Investment strengthens community food resources for families struggling to access healthy meals

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sunshine Health and Centene Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), today announced a strategic and timely investment aimed at addressing food insecurity across Florida, including $300,000 in emergency funding to one of Florida’s largest and most trusted food insecurity partners, Farm Share, Inc. This initiative comes as millions of Americans face increasing challenges in accessing nutritious meals due to recent disruptions to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), food insecurity currently affects approximately 47.4 million people nationwide, including 13.8 million children.

With the $300,000 investment from Sunshine Health and Centene Foundation, Farm Share plans to distribute at least 125,000 pounds of food, equal to over 104,000 meals. Families and individuals can find food distribution sites on Farm Share’s website.

“The shutdown has created a wave of uncertainty for thousands of Florida families,” said Stephen Shelley, CEO of Farm Share. “Thanks to Centene Foundation’s partnership, we can respond with action, compassion and the simple promise that food will be there when it is needed most.”

An additional $110,000 investment from Sunshine Health and Centene Foundation is being allocated to organizations across the state, with at least one in every Medicaid region. These organizations include: DSR Public Health Foundation, Lutheran Social Services of NEFL Food Pantry, People Helping People in Hernando County, One Community Now, Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE), Loving Hearts and Praying Hands, Community Cooperative, Vero Beach Salvation Army, Our Village Okeechobee, United Way of Broward County, and Bridge of Hope.

“At Sunshine Health, our mission is rooted in uplifting the communities we serve,” said Charlene Zein, President and CEO of Sunshine Health. “We are grateful for the unwavering support of the Centene Foundation and our partnership with our nonprofit partners like Farm Share, who allow us to extend vital resources to those most in need. Together, we are not only responding to immediate challenges but also building a foundation for healthier, more resilient communities across Florida.”

This funding is a continuation of Sunshine Health’s commitment to supporting access to healthy, nutritious food in communities across Florida, including the company’s monthly food pantries at its 10 Community Connections Centers.

“Your award of $10,000 is HUGE for our community,” said Leah Suarez, Chief Executive Officer at Our Village Okeechobee. “This award is bringing me to tears, for the good that we can do to feed our children and families in unprecedented times.”

This investment is part of a $1.5 million commitment from the Centene Foundation to organizations across the country, particularly food banks, and other community-based groups that are typically preparing for winter but may already be experiencing critical shortages.

“Families across the country are facing unprecedented challenges as essential nutrition programs experience strain and demand for food assistance continues to rise. Local organizations have been working tirelessly to meet these needs, and this emergency funding will strengthen their efforts — helping ensure that children and families most at risk have access to healthy meals during this critical time,” said Centene’s Chief Health Officer Alice Chen. “Access to nutritious food is foundational to good health, and sustained investment in these programs is essential to improving long-term outcomes for vulnerable communities.”

Centene has long championed the fight against food insecurity. With more than 95% of its Medicaid plans offering food or nutrition intervention programs, which help address the social factors driving 80% of health outcomes, access to nutritious food remains a vital health priority.

In 2024, Centene invested $77.1 million toward food security. Specifically, Centene’s efforts have spanned multiple states, leveraging innovative, community-based partnerships to combat food insecurity and chronic disease – from Fresh Food Pharmacies in Michigan to farmers market produce vouchers in Illinois, grocery support for diabetic members in Nebraska and maternal care food programs in Arkansas – reinforcing Centene’s long-standing commitment to food as a critical driver of health.

These investments reflect Centene’s broader mission to transform community health through locally driven solutions, addressing drivers like access to nutritious food and promoting long-term sustainability by integrating food access with healthcare services.

The new PowerUp Points provide increased access to Level 3 public fast-chargers within each metro, cut EV charging times to just 20 minutes

WASHINGTON, Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Inspiration Energy, an Inspiration Mobility Group company and a leading developer of fleet-focused electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, announced a milestone in its continued partnership with zTrip, the nation’s largest taxi fleet operator. Together, the companies are expanding access to EV charging by opening the first publicly-accessible Level 3 fast-charging hubs near the downtown metro areas of Kansas City, MO, and Pittsburgh, PA.

The two public PowerUp Point (PuP) stations provide drivers with up to an 80% charge in about 20 minutes, dramatically reducing charging times from hours to minutes. Together, the sites initially provide twelve high-power ports in Kansas City and six in Pittsburgh, filling a critical gap in urban EV infrastructure where public fast-charging options were practically nonexistent.

“Our goal is to make EV charging as easy and reliable as filling up a gas tank,” said Josh Green, CEO of Inspiration Mobility Group. “By adding commercial-grade Level 3 fast-charging solutions in both cities, we’re helping accelerate the shift to electric transportation and ensuring fleets and local drivers can charge quickly, reliably, and conveniently.”

Until now, Kansas City drivers had access to only a handful of public fast chargers, none of which were located within five miles of the city’s downtown, with Pittsburgh drivers facing similar charging challenges. The new, Inspiration-owned and managed charging depots provide dependable, 24/7 access to Level 3 fast charging, supporting local businesses, rideshare drivers, delivery fleets, and everyday EV owners.

“As the nation’s largest taxi fleet operator, we know how critical reliable charging is to keeping drivers on the road and passengers served,” said Bill George, CEO of zTrip. “Partnering with Inspiration not only supports our own EV transition but also strengthens the entire EV community in both cities.”

To open these PowerUp Points to the public, Inspiration teamed with Presto, an all-in-one EV charging platform purpose-built for scalability. Drivers can easily find, charge, and pay through the Presto network, ensuring a seamless and reliable experience.

“The PowerUp Points are exactly what Presto was built for: shared-use infrastructure that grows with demand and delivers consistent, fast-charging access,” said Ashwin Dias, CEO of Presto.

Located in Kansas City’s downtown Paseo West district and Pittsburgh’s historic Manchester neighborhood, each PowerUp Point operates year-round and features 180-kilowatt-hour chargers compatible with CCS connectors and NACS (with an adapter). By reducing charging times from hours to minutes, they provide essential infrastructure where it’s needed most, powering economic activity and enabling the transition to electric transportation.

Opening these PuPs to the public marks the next phase of Inspiration and zTrip’s partnership, which launched its first charging depot exclusively for zTrip fleet drivers in November 2024. With additional charging hubs planned in major metro areas in 2026, the companies are accelerating the shift toward cleaner, more cost-effective fleet operations and equitable EV access nationwide.

Equipment will provide high-accuracy, long-term performance monitoring

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — EKO Instruments USA announces today that a suite of weather stations featuring the MS-80SH Pyranometer have been installed at the 110MW-scale Three W Solar project site owned by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in Hill County, Texas. Installed prior to commissioning and capacity testing, the solar sensors will play a key role in ensuring accurate performance measurement at the solar site, which will supply the ERCOT market.

The Class A MS-80SH solar sensors provide spectrally flat and fast-response irradiance data to Campbell Scientific data loggers, which, via the Supervisory Control and Data (SCADA) system, will deliver high-accuracy, -resolution and -precision data to the site’s system operator. To ensure year-round monitoring, the MS-80SH’s high-efficiency dome heating function clears the sensor cover of frost, which blankets Texas in the winter and spring.

Emerson’s Ovation™ Green solar solutions ─ consisting of SCADA, asset management and power plant control ─ integrate solar field device data, including the EKO sensors installed on the weather stations, into a single intelligent platform that enables supervisory control and a unified view of solar site operations. The combination of these cutting-edge technologies will support continuous and long-term performance monitoring into the operational phase, helping to verify high-level yield.

The site’s power will be supplied in the wholesale market and to industrial customers through Mitsui’s fully-owned subsidiary, Mitsui & Co, Energy Marketing and Services (USA), Inc. (MEMS) to support the increasing demand for renewable energy in the ERCOT market. For Mitsui, the site is a step forward towards the vertical integration of its Texas portfolio’s energy value chain, which will span generation to retail.

“We’re proud to support Mitsui & Co. in advancing its renewable energy ambitions through precise and reliable solar measurement technology,” said Wayne Burnett, Chief Strategy & Technology Officer of EKO Instruments USA. “EKO’s Class A pyranometers and integrated weather stations provide the foundation for accurate performance monitoring and data-driven optimization over the lifetime of the plant. Collaborations like this reflect our commitment to go ‘beyond accuracy’ and support the global energy transition with innovation, quality, and long-term reliability.”
