InterTabac World Alternative Awards Names AIR’s Crown Switch™ 2026 Best Vape Device of the Year

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AIR Global PLC (“AIR” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: AIIR), a global leader in advanced flavored inhalation technologies and pioneer of next-generation nicotine delivery systems, today announced that Crown Switch™, developed in partnership with Greentank Innovations Corp. (“Greentank”), a global leader of advanced vaporization hardware and technology, has been named Best Vape Device of the Year at the InterTabac World Alternative Awards. Crown Switch™, AIR’s first rechargeable pod vape system, debuted in Germany last year, and AIR plans to bring the product to market in the United States in the future. AIR’s Crown Switch™ is powered by Greentank’s Quantum Chip™ atomization technology.

The awards recognize alternative nicotine products and innovations in categories ranging from vape devices and e-liquids to modern nicotine pouches and reduced-risk concepts and innovations. Winners are chosen via a combination of public online voting and expert jury evaluations.

“We’re thrilled to receive this exceptional honor, with Crown Switch™ named best vape device of the year,” said Stuart Brazier, CEO of AIR. “It reflects the meaningful progress we’ve made in developing cleaner inhalation platforms and validates what AIR and Greentank have built together. Greentank’s award-winning Quantum Chip technology is the cornerstone of that differentiation, and the reason Crown Switch™ earned this recognition as the best. We look forward to bringing this product to more markets in the coming months.”

Crown Switch™ uses disposable pods and contains zero ceramics or heavy metals in the vaporizer core unlike traditional coil and wick vapes. Greentank’s Quantum Chip™ was also recognized as Best Reduced Risk Concept / Innovation of the Year.

“Our partnership with AIR has allowed Crown Switch™’s innovative product to reach consumers at scale, and we look forward to continued growth for both companies,” said Corey Koffler, CEO and Co-Founder of Greentank. “Quantum Chip is engineered to advance reduced-risk solutions without compromising the user experience. This award-winning innovation, combined with AIR’s flavor expertise and science-backed products, and Crown Switch™ being named best vape device, are testaments to AIR’s strong R&D and category leadership.”

In July 2026, AIR announced a USD $20 million strategic equity investment in Greentank, deepening a partnership the two companies formed in 2023. Additionally, the award recognition follows the release of a pilot study conducted by McKinney Specialty Labs, LLC, an independent, specialty analytical laboratory, that evaluated aerosol emissions from Crown Switch™ and compared its results against published data from a scientific study by Smith and colleagues on harmful and potentially harmful constituents (HPHCs) in FDA-authorized e-cigarette products. The results showed Crown Switch™ pods produced aerosols with carbon monoxide below detection limits, approximately 94% less formaldehyde and 97% less nickel metal than other leading, comparable e-cigarette products in the Smith study.

Amended Kentucky Power agreement advances the second 500 MW phase into 2029 amid strong customer interest

EASTON, Md., Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — TeraWulf Inc. (Nasdaq: WULF) (“TeraWulf” or the “Company”), a vertically integrated owner, developer and operator of large-scale digital infrastructure, today announced that it has executed an amended and restated electric service agreement with Kentucky Power, an American Electric Power (“AEP”) company, increasing contracted power capacity at its Muskie Data Campus in eastern Kentucky from 500 megawatts (“MW”) to 1 gigawatt (“GW”).

The amendment advances planned delivery of Muskie’s second 500 MW phase from 2030 to 2029, subject to Kentucky Public Service Commission approval and Kentucky Power’s construction schedule. Development will proceed consistent with the requirements of Governor Beshear’s Executive Order on Data Center Development (2026-494). The first 500 MW phase remains targeted to begin ramping in 2028.

“Customer interest in Muskie has been tremendous, and power availability is central to those conversations,” said Paul Prager, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TeraWulf. “Securing the next 500 MW and moving its planned delivery into 2029 gives us greater flexibility to meet prospective customers’ deployment needs. It also builds on the progress our teams have made with Kentucky Power since we acquired the site.” Additionally, the Company continues to evaluate the campus’s potential to support up to 2 GW over time, subject to additional utility planning, infrastructure and agreements.

TeraWulf acquired Muskie in May 2026 for phased development as an AI and high-performance computing campus. Kentucky Power is developing a 765-kV / 345-kV substation connected to the regional transmission network to serve the site.

The Muskie amendment follows TeraWulf’s approach to large-scale development in Kentucky: coordinate with the utility on the infrastructure needed to serve the campus, provide financial protections for utility investment and structure the agreement to benefit existing customers. In August, the Kentucky Public Service Commission approved the separate electric service agreement for TeraWulf’s Justified Data Campus in Hawesville, finding that its terms adequately protected existing customers and appropriately allocated the costs and risks of serving that project.

About TeraWulf

TeraWulf develops, owns and operates large-scale, power-backed digital infrastructure in the United States, purpose-built for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads. The Company combines long-term control of land, power and interconnection infrastructure with deep in-house expertise in energy markets, infrastructure development and data center operations. TeraWulf operates the Lake Mariner Data Campus in New York and is developing and pursuing additional large-scale campuses in Kentucky, New York and Maryland. The Company also operates existing bitcoin-mining infrastructure at Lake Mariner, portions of which are being repurposed to support contracted HPC development.

The abstracts are available on the ASN Kidney Week 2026 website here.

In addition to the above poster presentations, Ardelyx will host an Exhibitor Spotlight session titled “Expanding Perspectives in Hyperphosphatemia Treatment: A Different Approach” on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 am MDT. Leading nephrologist Samuel A. Kantor, MD, will present an in-depth look at XPHOZAH (tenapanor), a first-in-class phosphate absorption inhibitor (PAI). Dr. Kantor will cover XPHOZAH’s mechanism of action, efficacy and safety data, and practical guidance for its use as an add-on therapy for dialysis patients who remain above guideline-established serum phosphorus targets despite current phosphate binder treatment.

About XPHOZAH® (tenapanor)
XPHOZAH® (tenapanor) is the first and only phosphate absorption inhibitor (PAI) approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to reduce serum phosphorus in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis as add-on therapy in patients who have an inadequate response to phosphate binders or who are intolerant of any dose of phosphate binder therapy. With a differentiated mechanism of action, XPHOZAH blocks phosphate absorption through the paracellular pathway, the primary pathway of phosphate absorption, and is administered as one tablet taken twice daily. Diarrhea was the most common side effect experienced by patients taking XPHOZAH in clinical trials. Please see Important Safety Information below and click for full Prescribing Information.

About Hyperphosphatemia
Hyperphosphatemia is a serious condition characterized by elevated levels of phosphate in the blood that affects many of the approximately 550,000 people in the United States with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on maintenance dialysis. As kidney function declines, the kidneys are unable to adequately eliminate excess phosphate, leading to its accumulation in the blood. Elevated phosphate levels are associated with adverse clinical outcomes in patients with CKD on dialysis. International KDIGO treatment guidelines recommend lowering progressively or persistently elevated serum phosphate toward the laboratory-specific normal range. In adults, a commonly used reference range is approximately 2.5–4.5 mg/dL.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
CONTRAINDICATIONS
XPHOZAH is contraindicated in:

  • Pediatric patients under 6 years of age
  • Patients with known or suspected mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Diarrhea
Patients may experience severe diarrhea. Treatment with XPHOZAH should be discontinued in patients who develop severe diarrhea.

MOST COMMON ADVERSE REACTIONS
Diarrhea, which occurred in 43-53% of patients, was the only adverse reaction reported in at least 5% of XPHOZAH-treated patients with CKD on dialysis across trials. The majority of diarrhea events in the XPHOZAH-treated patients were reported to be mild-to-moderate in severity and resolved over time, or with dose reduction. Diarrhea was typically reported soon after initiation but could occur at any time during treatment with XPHOZAH. Severe diarrhea was reported in 5% of XPHOZAH-treated patients in these trials.

INDICATION
XPHOZAH (tenapanor), 30 mg BID, is indicated to reduce serum phosphorus in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis as add-on therapy in patients who have an inadequate response to phosphate binders or who are intolerant of any dose of phosphate binder therapy.

For additional safety information, please see full Prescribing Information.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Prime Medicine, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRME), a biotechnology company committed to delivering a new class of differentiated one-time curative genetic therapies, today announced that the first patient has been dosed in the Company’s global Phase 1/2 clinical trial of PM577a, an investigational in vivo Prime Editor for H1069Q-mutated Wilson disease. The milestone marks the initiation of the first clinical study of an in vivo Prime Editing therapy from Prime Medicine, as well as the first clinical evaluation of the company’s liver franchise. The company also announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Rare Pediatric Disease (RPD) designation to PM577 for Wilson disease.

“Dosing the first patient with PM577a is a meaningful step toward our goal of delivering a transformative, one-time treatment for people living with Wilson disease,” said Allan Reine, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Prime Medicine. “We’ve seen strong interest from patients and physicians that, together with our patient identification and prescreening efforts, positions us well for efficient enrollment. More broadly, PM577a reflects the modularity of our platform. While this initial candidate is designed to correct H1069Q, the most prevalent disease-causing mutation in the United States and Europe, the same shared LNP delivery approach provides a path to expand into additional Wilson disease patient populations globally, beginning with our follow-on candidate designed to correct the R778L mutation, the most common mutation in East Asian populations.”

“Wilson disease is a serious, progressive genetic disorder with no approved curative therapy. Current pharmacologic treatments require lifelong management and can be limited by tolerability and adherence challenges,” said Mohammed Asmal, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer of Prime Medicine. “PM577a is designed to correct the H1069Q mutation at its genetic root through a single administration, with the potential to offer patients a one-time curative treatment, ideally before irreversible liver and neurological damage occur. Because Wilson disease frequently presents during childhood and adolescence, we are particularly encouraged by the FDA’s Rare Pediatric Disease designation for PM577, which underscores the significant unmet need for therapies capable of altering the course of disease early in life.”

Phase 1/2 Clinical Trial

The Phase 1/2 clinical trial is an open-label, global, first-in-human study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and preliminary clinical efficacy of ascending doses of PM577a in adults and adolescents with Wilson disease containing at least one p.H1069Q allele in the ATP7B gene. The study will initially enroll adults who are clinically stable on standard-of-care therapy. Initial efficacy measures may include copper efflux by 64Cu PET, serum ceruloplasmin, non-ceruloplasmin-bound copper, and 24-hour urinary copper excretion, among others. The trial will also evaluate discontinuation of baseline standard-of-care therapies.

Additional information about the trial is available at ClinicalTrials.gov under identifier NCT07748403.

Rare Pediatric Disease Designation

FDA grants Rare Pediatric Disease designation to investigational therapies intended to treat serious or life-threatening diseases that primarily affect individuals from birth through 18 years of age and affect fewer than 200,000 people in the United States. Under the FDA’s Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher (PRV) program, a sponsor that receives an approval for a New Drug Application (NDA) or Biologics License Application (BLA) for a rare pediatric disease may qualify for a voucher that can be redeemed to receive a priority review for a subsequent marketing application, or it can be sold or transferred to another company.

About PM577

PM577 is a family of lipid nanoparticle-formulated Prime Editing products designed to correct pathogenic ATP7B mutations in hepatocytes through a single intravenous infusion. Prime Medicine’s initial candidate, PM577a, targets the ATP7B H1069Q mutation, the most prevalent Wilson disease-causing allele in North America and Europe. PM577a has been granted Rare Pediatric Disease designation by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of Wilson disease. The Company intends to develop additional products to address the majority of pathogenic variants on a global basis. A follow-on candidate is in preclinical development targeting R778L, the most common mutant allele in East Asian populations.

About Wilson Disease

Wilson disease is a rare, serious and progressive genetic disorder of hepatic copper transport caused by loss-of-function mutations in the ATP7B gene. Impaired biliary excretion drives progressive copper accumulation in the liver, followed by multiorgan involvement, including the brain, kidneys and cornea. Current pharmacologic therapies, including copper chelators and zinc salts, are non-curative, require lifelong daily treatment and carry tolerability and adherence challenges. Liver transplantation remains the only curative option but is constrained by organ availability and carries substantial procedural risk. PM577a is designed to offer patients with H1069Q-mutated Wilson disease a one-time therapy that corrects the disease at its genetic root.
