Expanding Transparency Through As You Know’s Metrics

We recently brought AYK’s data on the Russell 3000 into CSRHub’s big data consensus ESG ratings system. AYK is a recent and innovative entrant into the market for data that supports investor decision-making. It offers 62 metrics on human rights, social justice, diversity, and leadership topics, based on data aggregated from a wide range of community-led organizations.

AYK has now released an updated dataset that highlights pre- and post-U.S. election changes in corporate performance. This dataset is available exclusively via As You Know.

This novel methodology builds on three decades of work from As You Sow, a pioneer in shareholder engagement and corporate accountability. As You Sow has long been a trusted data partner for CSRHub, offering insights that many traditional datasets often miss. Both As You Sow (not-for-profit) and As You Know (for-profit) share CSRHub’s mission of using data to drive positive change across the corporate landscape.

How AYK’s Metrics Align With CSRHub’s Framework

AYK focuses on eight of CSRHub’s twelve ESG cores. While its scores are informed by some of the same input sources CSRHub ingests, each system captures unique signals. AYK’s scoring distribution is notably strict (few companies exceed 50%), offering an important “tough grading” perspective that may highlight risks other datasets understate.

We observed a 30%+ correlation between AYK’s RJI (Racial Justice Initiative) and DEI (Diversity and Equity Initiative) scores and CSRHub’s overall ESG rating, suggesting meaningful alignment in how both systems assess social and governance risk.

Accessing AYK’s Insights

AYK data is available for use by corporations, investors, and nonprofits. Notably, nonprofits receive free access, extending As You Sow’s longstanding legacy of empowering advocacy through open data.

While the current dataset focuses on U.S. entities, many covered companies have significant overseas exposure (value chains, EU operations, cross-listings). AYK expects to expand its coverage into Europe and additional regions.

Integrating “Invest Your Values” Into AYK (Beginning 2026)

Starting in 2026, the full Invest Your Values mutual fund and ETF screening datasets will migrate exclusively to As You Know. This integration brings together three decades of As You Sow’s values-aligned fund screening with AYK’s expanded corporate-level analyses.

Raspberry Pi Foundation is inspiring the next generation of technology creators by making computing education accessible and engaging for all. With support from the Cisco Foundation, Raspberry Pi has been able to expand their impact, from classrooms in rural India to refugee camps in Africa.

Digital Green is co-creating a world where farmers use technology and data to build prosperous communities. Cisco Foundation grants helped to develop and scale FarmerChat, an AI assistant that has supported more than 460,000 farmers since 2023. 

Our partners, like those highlighted above, are reimagining what’s possible in a time of tighter resources and surging community demands. They are using AI to lower costs and digitize resources to improve efficiency and, in turn, deliver deeper impact. Now in its seventh year, Maytag, a Whirlpool Corporation brand, continues to deepen its longstanding relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As part of their annual Day of Dependability, Maytag brand treated 300 members and staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan to a Thanksgiving inspired meal and an evening of fun and entertainment on November 20th.

The evening, held at the Boys & Girls Club’s Fettig Youth Campus in Benton Harbor, kicked off with the singing of the national anthem and a blessing of the food. Maytag brand volunteers served attendees fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, mac n’ cheese and other Thanksgiving inspired fare. Along with the meal, the event included activities including a 360-photo booth, a silent disco party and face painting.

“We’re honored to be able to support and engage with members of our local club and bring them together with our volunteers for a night of great food, entertainment and fun,” said Emily Pines, Maytag brand manager. “Continuing this tradition for seven years reflects the brand’s unwavering spirit of dependability and our commitment to this community.”

Since 2003, Maytag has supported Boys & Girls Clubs of America locally and across the country by hosting over 6,000 volunteers, funding over $9M in donations and scholarships, honoring Boys & Girls Clubs mentors with the Maytag Dependable Leader Award and more. CALGARY, Alberta, December 4, 2025 /3BL/ – Benevity, Inc., the leading global provider of social impact software, today announced that over $150 million was donated to nonprofits through its platform this Giving Tuesday. Nearly 16% of the donations were made by first-time donors, contributing to the biggest single-day participation event across donation and volunteering activity on the Benevity platform.

Benevity data shows more than 165,000 individuals came together to support nearly 60,000 nonprofits in 114 countries and territories on Giving Tuesday 2025. On average, a donation was made nearly every second of the day through the Benevity Enterprise Impact Platform. The most popular causes that companies and individuals contributed to this year include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Room to Read, National Center for Families Learning, Inc., and United Way Greater Toronto.

Melissa Lystad’s introduction to military service began in an unexpected way. Unbeknownst to her, her fiancé had been talking to recruiters, and an invitation for a pizza dinner was extended. Little did she know that decision would soon lead to a lifelong sense of purpose.

“My now husband and I were barely scraping by, and a free pizza dinner offered during a military pitch sounded fantastic,” she said. “While there, my husband mentioned that I have an affinity to learning languages, as I was already using Spanish in my work at the local clinic, and both recruiters took a hard run at me.” 

Following pizza and paperwork, Lystad’s long and meaningful journey with the U.S. Navy began. She enlisted in 1997 and progressed through a variety of roles as a foreign language analyst. 

“My decision to join the Navy has changed my life, and for that I am forever grateful,” she said. “In my 22-year military career, I’ve been lucky enough to visit some of the most amazing places on earth.” 

Lystad retired from service as a Cryptologic Technician, Interpretive (CTI) Chief Petty Officer in 2019. That same year, she joined CACI as part of a program that provides foreign language services to the customer, seamlessly aligning her Navy expertise with the company’s mission. 

With CACI, Lystad has grown her skills through exposure to new projects and challenges. In her current role as CACI’s only Foreign Language Talent and Tradecraft Manager, she is responsible for anticipating the needs of fellow language analysts and ensuring they have access to the most current tools, training, and insights.

“I’ve worked for CACI for over six years now following my military separation,” she said. “This my third role with the company, and I’m still really happy to be here.”

Lystad’s time in the Navy not only shaped her skills but her mindset and work ethic. She carries these values forward with her as she breaks new ground with CACI. 

“The Navy taught me to document everything, guided by the phrase, ‘if it ain’t on paper, it didn’t happen.’ I also learned the importance of strong communication — always yelling up the chain, not down,” she said. “That mindset, along with the network I’ve built over the years, helps me support our analysts with clarity and confidence.”

CACI’s mission emphasizes the importance of service to the nation. The company’s workforce has maintained a strong military presence that reinforces its mission-first mindset, which Lystad can attest to.

“Our contract is almost exclusively former military language analysts, and there is such joy in being able to offer follow-on careers in the field where they have the most skills,” she said. “The relief when a person is hired is fabulous to see, and it offers the opportunity to continue serving the nation — just in more comfortable clothes!”

Lystad’s journey is a reminder that purpose often appears in ways we never anticipate. What began as a simple decision in a difficult moment ultimately led her to a career and community where her skills, experience, and passion continue to make a real impact.

“I don’t know that I would have ever expected to say, ‘Wow do I love my job,’ but here I am, killing it!” she said.  “I’m so grateful to be doing something that I enjoy so much and helps others with their heavy lift as well.”
