Responding to a growing need for increased technical skills among the workforce in Bemidji, Minnesota, PotlatchDeltic worked with The Idea Circle, a workforce development consultant, the Minnesota Innovation Initiative (MI2), an affiliate of the local chamber of commerce, and other private, local employers to create a mechatronics program. The Mechatronics program is focused on building competency for maintenance and repair on electrical, mechanical, computer, robotics, and automation systems. The courses are available to any eligible Team Member in our Bemidji mill (production or maintenance) who wants to advance their skills in these areas.

In 2013, PotlatchDeltic became the first company in the Bemidji area to enroll one of its Team Members, Joe, in the Mechatronics program. Joe had just graduated from high school and came to PotlatchDeltic as a summer intern in 2012. He was registered to go to trade school that fall but decided to take a leap of faith with us, declined trade school, and stayed employed as efforts continued to establish the full Mechatronics program. After enrolling, Joe completed the Mechatronics program while also working at our Bemidji wood products facility. Fast forward to today, and Joe is a very successful millwright at our Bemidji mill and is seen as a leader in the maintenance department, as well as the mill’s resident vibration analysis expert.

PotlatchDeltic has had Team Members participating in the program every year since then. In 2023, we had four Team Members enrolled in the Mechatronics program. All courses are offered via e-learning and hands-on skill labs. PotlatchDeltic provides support towards the coursework costs. Participants can choose to complete the introductory courses the first year with the option to continue for a second year to finish the whole program.

The success of this program for production Team Members has been well demonstrated through an increased knowledge and proficiency of their workstations. Maintenance Team Members have increased skills essential to performing troubleshooting, service, and repair on mechanical and electrical systems. For example, a 2023 graduate of the Mechatronics program was recently promoted to full-time millwright.

The Mechatronics program has also expanded into several Bemidji area high schools offering beginning coursework in the program. Our Bemidji wood products facility is a proud sponsor of the Mechatronics Career Academy at Bemidji High School helping to prepare graduates for employment in the industrial sector.

Delivering on our mission requires a strong foundation of effective management, oversight, and accountability. Our Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors provides oversight of the long-term strategic, financial, and organizational company goals. Additionally, the Board and each committee operate in accordance with GoDaddy’s Corporate Governance Guidelines. The results of the annual governance review and these annual evaluations are discussed and evaluated to determine whether changes may be appropriate in any given year.

The Board delegated key oversight responsibilities to each of the Audit and Finance Committee, the Nominating and Governance Committee, and the Compensation and Human Capital Committee, all of which report back to the Board regularly on topics reviewed during their respective meetings.

HORGEN, Switzerland, May 20, 2024 /3BL/ – Dow (NYSE: DOW), Henkel Adhesive Technologies, and Kraton Corporation, have achieved a reduction in product carbon footprint for two of Henkel’s North American flagship products for end-of-line packaging: TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 100 and TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 106M.

TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 100 LE and TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 106M LE formulas designed biobased alternatives reduce the adhesives’ cradle-to-gate carbon footprint by 25%i compared to the legacy products. This reduced footprint is enabled by a proprietary formulation of Kraton’s SYLVALITE™ 2200 biobased tackifiers developed with REvolution™ rosin ester technology and Dow’s AFFINITY™ GA polyolefin elastomers. The lower emission formulations maintain equivalent performance and food safe properties customers expect from the legacy designs.

“At Kraton, we understand the importance of sustainability in today’s adhesive and packaging markets,” said Minco van Breevoort, Kraton Pine Chemicals President. “Supplying Henkel with our REvolution™ technology and biobased tackifiers reflects our long-standing dedication to innovating solutions that satisfy customer needs and reduce environmental impact. We take pride in driving the transition towards sustainable adhesive and packaging solutions.” Sustainable products often carry a premium price due to higher manufacturing costs and increased regulatory pressure for Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions reporting. By investing in lower carbon emission formulations, Henkel, Kraton and Dow are meeting consumer demand for sustainable packaging and making these solutions more attainable for consumer goods manufacturers. As a result of the combined investment, TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 100 LE and TECHNOMELT® SUPRA 106M LE will be available to existing customers at no additional costii.

“Henkel has been leading the efforts on sustainable solutions which promote emission reduction, circularity and safety. Sustainability is not just our responsibility to future generations but integral to our long-term success as a company,” explains Ulla Hüppe, Head of Sustainability for Adhesive Technologies at Henkel. “By working with Kraton and Dow, we are able to offer lower emission solutions and establish new industry precedence.”

“We believe in the power of collaboration with like-minded companies who share Dow’s values and ambition. With Henkel and Kraton, we’re not just forging collaborations, we’re creating a sustainable ecosystem. We’re proud to be setting a precedent of working together with other Press Information industry leaders to drive change and bring value to customers,” said Haley Lowry, Global Director Sustainability, Dow.

Kraton’s REvolution™ is an innovative technology platform designed to deliver enhanced color performance and oxidative stability in biobased tackifiers such as Kraton’s SYLVALITE™ 2200. The technology provides a sustainable alternative to fossil-based products, enabling formulators to achieve a high biobased content and a low carbon footprint. Dow’s AFFINITY™ GA offers advanced performance for extreme temperatures in packaging. The TECHNOMELT ® product portfolio includes other biobased formulations, as well as innovative low temperature hot melt adhesive formulations.

We cannot thank Mary Kay and our other partners enough for their unwavering support of this great program,” said Lindsay Ayers, Business Partnerships, Lewisville Independent School District.

Keysight’s device security research lab can now conduct vehicle type approval evaluations under UN R155 / R156 regulationsAutomotive security regulations become a requirement for all new vehicles produced for United Nations Economic Commission for Europe countries beginning July 2024

SANTA ROSA, Calif., May 20, 2024 /3BL/ – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), device security research lab, Riscure Security Solutions, has received formal approval from the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW) to become a designated technical service provider for approval of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) R155 and R156 regulations.

Created by the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), the UNECE R155 and R156 regulations establish cybersecurity and software update requirements to strengthen the safety and security of automotive systems. UN R155 outlines cybersecurity requirements for vehicle manufacturers and applies to specific vehicle types across all phases of development, production, and post-production. UN R156 specifies software update requirements for vehicle manufacturers and applies to specific vehicle types exclusively during the post-production phase, excluding the development and production phases.

Through this approval, Riscure Security Solutions can now conduct vehicle type approvals according to the UNECE WP.29 regulations, which become a requirement for all new vehicles produced beginning July 2024 for all UNECE countries. Achieving UN R155 and UN R156 compliance from the RDW agency covers vehicles in all 27 European Union countries and 37 countries worldwide, including Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

With Riscure Security Solutions, Keysight further expands its support for automakers and the entire automotive supply chain, providing a comprehensive range of solutions to assess vehicle safety, security, performance, and compliance throughout the complete life cycle of the products.

Marc Witteman, Director of the Device Security Research Lab at Keysight, said: “When we evaluate a component or a system for potential security vulnerabilities, we take into account existing threats and capabilities of an adversary, as well as attack types that may become relevant in the future. Being prepared for the threats of tomorrow is critical in automotive, where the average life cycle of a component is often measured in decades. Approval from RDW marks an important milestone for Keysight, solidifying our position as a trusted partner in ensuring vehicle safety, security, and regulatory compliance.”
