TAMPA, Fla., July 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Good Greek Moving & Storage has been recognized as the Mover of the Month for June 2025 by national nonprofit Move For Hunger, in honor of the team’s outstanding participation in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, held annually by the National Association of Letter Carriers.

“Without movers like them, we could never have reached over 61 million pounds of food collected.”

On May 10, 2025, during the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the Tampa crew transported 10,771 pounds of food, the equivalent of 8,976 meals, to local food banks including Metropolitan Ministries and ECHO of Riverview, helping combat hunger in the local community.

This honor follows a series of accolades for the company, including being named the 2024 National Mover of the Year by the American Trucking Association. The company’s mission to serve extends beyond relocation, integrating community support into its daily operations by collecting non-perishable food on moving day, supporting local food banks, and providing emergency relief during natural disasters.

  • New investments span regenerative agriculture, inclusive financing, and circular packaging ambitions through innovative technology.
  • Investments reflect the company’s three-pronged approach across direct investments, fund investments, and technical assistance to help support bold initiatives.
  • Sustainable Futures focus on circularity, community, and climate aligns with company’s Vision 2030 Sustainability strategy and aims to help people and the planet thrive.

CHICAGO, July 2, 2025 /3BL/ – Mondelēz International, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDLZ) announced a new wave of impact-first investments from its Sustainable Futures Impact Investment platform, aiming to further advance scalable, high-impact solutions at the nexus of climate, community, and circularity. These efforts reflect the company’s sharpened focus on catalyzing innovation aligned with its Snacking Made Right sustainability strategy and Vision 2030 ambitions.

The company continues to employ a three-pronged investment approach: direct investments, fund investments, and technical assistance, all designed to help scale promising solutions that we believe can generate measurable impact.

Direct Investments

New additions to the Sustainable Futures portfolio include:

  • eAgronom, an ag-tech company supporting the transition to regenerative agriculture by helping farmers improve soil health, reduce carbon emissions and enhance financial resilience through sustainable practices. With over 1 million hectares already under more sustainable farming practice through its support, eAgronom’s platform provides a broad set of capabilities covering on-the-ground assistance, technology and financial access, while helping to strengthen farmers’ ability to adapt to climate-related challenges.
  • ZIRO, a fintech startup aiming to provide small merchants with affordable inventory financing, helping them to increase sales, better maintain consistent stock levels, and build financial stability. With a projected reach of approximately 100,000 small merchants over the next three years, Ziro is working to help level the playing field by helping small businesses have the financial tools they require to grow more sustainably.
  • Pack2Earth, an advanced materials company supporting the company in its ambition to replace approximately 60,000 metric tons of plastic packaging with its home compostable material by 2028. Pack2Earth’s bio-based materials aim to offer more sustainable alternatives to single-used plastics, including flexible plastics.

Fund Investments

Mondelēz International continues to support impact funds that align with the company’s goal to catalyze positive change at scale and across geographies:

  • The company is part of an established coalition of global corporations and development finance institutions that supported the launch of Circulate Capital’s Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Ocean Fund in May 2023, underscoring a shared goal to back local innovators tackling plastic waste across Latin America through scalable, impactful solutions.
  • In 2024, Mondelēz International’s investment in Circulate Capital Ocean Fund helped contribute to circulating or avoiding over 7,600 tonnes of plastic, reducing more than 10,700 tonnes of GHG emissions, and creating over 34,900 tonnes in recycling infrastructure capacity across South East Asia and India.

Technical Assistance

MDLZ also provides capacity-building support to early-stage ventures with Sustainable Futures investments aiming to validate their novel technologies through larger-scale pilots and rigorous scientific approaches. With SAM-DIMENSION GmbH the company built out a multi-year pilot that demonstrated the value of the innovative technology in a real large-scale situation and follows clear protocols and methods that help to quantify the positive impact.

“Sustainability is embedded as the fourth strategic pillar of Mondelēz International’s growth strategy,” said Christine Montenegro McGrath, Chief Impact & Sustainability Officer. “These Sustainable Futures investments are part of our company’s investments in new, scalable solutions that we believe can help address key challenges and in turn help create long-term business resilience while contributing to a thriving future for people and planet.”

PORTLAND, Maine, July 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) and Scan Design Foundation (SDF) are pleased to announce the inaugural edition of the Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship in Denmark, that will launch in summer 2026.

The inaugural Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship in Denmark will launch in summer 2026.

This immersive experience is designed to equip interns with practical skills and insights that will enhance their employability and career readiness, while deepening their understanding of environmental sustainability in the Danish context.

Eight undergraduate and/or graduate students will be selected to intern and study in Denmark from May 19 – July 12, 2026. Each will receive a fellowship award that covers the full program cost, airfare, and a living stipend. During the program, participants will intern with a host company in Copenhagen focused on environmentally sustainable business practices and aligned with their skills and career goals. They will also complete a 6-credit internship seminar, explore the local Danish sustainability culture, and participate in networking opportunities, including events at local sustainability start-up hubs. Plus, a professional development workshop series, which builds on the internship seminar and covers topics such as job searching and resume writing, will prepare the interns to navigate the complexities of the modern job market and achieve their professional goals.

Internship opportunities will be available at a wide range of Danish host companies, from a cleaning supplies producer committed to creating positive environmental and social outcomes through sustainable infrastructure development, to a company focused on accelerating sustainability strategy implementation and cultural change within organizations, to a company that specializes in developing innovative biomass gasification technologies designed to reduce the environmental impact of energy production.

“The objective of this program is deeply rooted in Scan Design Foundation’s mission to advance Danish American relations by supporting cultural exchanges focused on environmental sustainability,” said Fidelma McGinn, president of Scan Design Foundation. “Through this cross-cultural experience, participants will gain a clear understanding of Denmark’s commitment to transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon, resource-efficient society. They will learn core Danish approaches to environmental sustainability and be able to compare them meaningfully with U.S. approaches and practices.”

“This program will strengthen the US-Denmark relationship, nurturing the historically affectionate relationship between the two countries,” said James P. Pellow, Ed. D., President and CEO of CIEE. “We are delighted to partner with Scan Design Foundation to provide this opportunity for students interested in sustainability and environmental fields to develop the problem solving, intercultural communication, and self-leadership skills most valued by employers in today’s globally interconnected workplace.”

“This first cohort of interns will develop a network of personal and professional international contacts that will prepare them for successful future careers tackling environmental issues that require global cooperation on solutions,” said Dr. Pellow.

Applications for this competitive award will open September 15, 2025.

Eligible applicants who complete an application for the Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship but are not selected for the program will receive a CIEE Grant of $1,500 that can be used toward any of CIEE’s 200+ summer and semester study abroad programs through Spring 2027.

May 28 was World Hunger Day, an observance supporting efforts to address food insecurity around the world.  Feeding communities is foundational to the way Yum! Serves Up Good everyday – as a matter of fact, Yum! has donated more than 215 million pounds of food to those in need since 1992 through efforts such as Harvest.

KFC South Africa’s Add Hope program is one example of how our brands and markets are making an impact in their communities.  Statistically, one in four South African children experience severe food poverty, placing them at risk of life-threatening malnutrition. KFC’s goal is to help feed these children so that they may have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.  Since launching 16 years ago, the Add Hope program has provided meals for 1.2 million children in South Africa, collecting over $66 million through guest donations and sales, averaging more than 133,000 meals served daily to children in need.

CHICAGO, July 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Edward and Ludmila Smolyansky, long-term shareholders of Lifeway Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: LWAY) who together exercise voting control with respect to approximately 23.2% of the outstanding shares of Lifeway Foods, today announced the filing of a definitive consent statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The filing initiates a process to remove Lifeway’s current board of directors and elect a new slate of nominees who will be focused on restoring accountability, transparency and long-term shareholder value.

Mr. Smolyansky and Mrs. Smolyansky are seeking shareholder approval on four proposals: to repeal any bylaw amendments adopted after March 24, 2023; to remove all current directors, including CEO and Chair Julie Smolyansky; to elect a new board of seven highly qualified nominees who collectively have deep experience in governance, finance, operations, and consumer products; and to amend Lifeway’s by-laws to prohibit it from employing or engaging any immediate family member of its President or Chief Executive Officer. The Board Removal and Director Election Proposals are conditioned on one another to ensure continued board leadership during the transition.

“It is apparent to us that the current board has no intent to engage with us. We believe this consent solicitation is the most direct and effective way to return Lifeway to the people who actually own it,” said Edward Smolyansky. “The company’s circumstances demand bold, unprecedented action. We must end entrenched, self-serving control and bring in leadership that will act in the best interests of all shareholders.”

“We believe that the board has repeatedly disregarded shareholder feedback, failed to articulate a credible strategy, and chosen to reward failure. It’s clear to us that this board cannot be trusted to lead Lifeway forward,” said Edward Smolyansky

Participants in the Solicitation
