Controlled study in 50 healthy adults suggests accelerated learning, improved executive efficiency and stronger behavioral coordination.

ROCKAWAY, N.J.,, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — electroCore, Inc. (Nasdaq: ECOR) (“electroCore” or the “Company”), a commercial-stage bioelectronic medicine and wellness company, today announced findings presented by the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) of a controlled functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study evaluating transcutaneous cervical vagus nerve stimulation (tcVNS) during complex visual skill learning.

The study, titled “Enhanced Skill Learning via Cervical Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation: A Neuroimaging Perspective,” was conducted by the AFRL. The investigators used electroCore’s patented tcVNS technology to examine behavioral performance and brain activity during a visual pattern-recognition task designed to model elements of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analyst training.

The results suggest that tcVNS influences how the brain coordinates sequential decisions and recruits task-relevant visual and executive-control networks during learning. The study provides mechanistic evidence supporting the use of tcVNS in complex perceptual learning contexts.

Study Design

Fifty healthy airmen participated in the five-day study and were divided equally between active and sham stimulation groups. Participants learned to identify target vehicles and detect changes in vehicle position within grayscale synthetic-aperture radar images while investigators measured neural activity using task-based and resting-state MRI.

The first day established baseline performance. On Days 2 through 4, participants received active or sham tcVNS during training, and Day 5 assessed follow-up performance. The stimulation protocol targeted the cervical vagus nerve using the gammaCore Sapphire device.

Findings

  • Strengthened behavioral coordination: Mixed-effects modeling indicated a stronger relationship between target-identification reaction time and subsequent change-detection reaction time in the active tcVNS group, suggesting improved coordination across sequential cognitive operations rather than a simple increase in average performance.
  • Accelerated learning: On Day 2, the active tcVNS group showed significantly (p<0.05) greater activation in specific areas of the brain associated with visual learning compared with the sham group.
  • Reduced long term demand: During later sessions, the active tcVNS group showed lower activation of specific brain regions associated with performing the study tasks, a pattern the investigators interpreted as a reflection of reduced executive demand as the task became more practiced.
  • Lasting changes in brain activity: Advanced machine learning analyses revealed distinct patterns of brain activity in participants receiving active stimulation compared to sham, suggesting that stimulation may improve how the brain processes information following training.

Taken together, the behavioral and imaging findings support the potential for tcVNS to be deployed as a tool for supporting the neural processes involved in complex perceptual learning required across a range of training environments. The full results of this study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal at the discretion of AFRL.

With the Flatiron Institute and leading European research institutions, Pasqal used its 256-qubit processor to observe an unexpected slowdown in a 2D quantum magnet, in a regime that current theory and classical simulations cannot yet reliably predict.

Key Takeaways

  • Pasqal’s quantum processor has moved from reproducing known physics to revealing behavior that theory did not predict, a key step toward quantum computers becoming tools that generate new scientific insight.
  • On Pasqal’s 256-qubit neutral-atom processor, a 2D quantum magnet took far longer to settle after being disturbed than theory predicts.
  • The behavior emerges in a regime that current theory and state-of-the-art classical simulation cannot yet reliably predict, the kind of problem where quantum processors are expected to add value.
  • The team modeled the device’s noise and cross-checked against exact calculations to assess the results. The preprint, with the Flatiron Institute and four European institutions, builds on an earlier work in which the same processor reproduced the behavior of a real magnetic crystal.

PARIS, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Pasqal (Nasdaq: PSQL), a global leader in neutral-atom quantum computing, today announced that its 256-qubit quantum processor has revealed an unexpected behavior in a two-dimensional quantum magnet: under certain conditions, the system takes far longer to settle after being disturbed than theory predicts. The results, released as a preprint with the Flatiron Institute, the University of Augsburg, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the University of Regensburg and the Institut d’Optique–CNRS, were obtained in a regime where three state-of-the-art classical simulation methods no longer agree with one another.

A regime theory cannot yet predict
The researchers abruptly pushed the magnet out of equilibrium, a sudden change physicists call a quench and expected it to settle quickly into a new stable state, as most systems do. Under one set of conditions, it didn’t. The result marks a shift in how quantum processors can be used in research: not only to reproduce what scientists already know, but to reveal behavior they did not anticipate.

The system in question is a quantum magnet: a grid of interacting atomic spins described by one of the reference models of magnetism. Models like this are deliberately simplified, but they capture behavior physicists’ study across many magnetic materials, including how magnetic information spreads through a system. In two dimensions, that turns out to be remarkably hard to predict, and hardest of all once the system has been pushed out of equilibrium, where current theory offers no reliable answer.

That is precisely the regime Pasqal set out to explore, in two stages. Earlier this year, in a study released as a preprint, conducted with MagLab, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee, Pasqal’s 256-qubit processor reproduced the behavior of a real magnetic crystal and matched laboratory measurements with a high level of quantitative agreement, an important benchmark for using the machine as a scientific instrument.

In the new study, carried out with the Flatiron Institute, and the University of Augsburg, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the University of Regensburg, the Institut d’Optique–CNRS, the team used the same platform to go further: not to reproduce known physics, but to explore beyond it.

Three ways to settle, one unexplained
Watching a 16×16 grid of atoms relax after a sudden change, the team found the system could settle in three different ways depending on the strength of the applied field. Two were expected. The third was not: an abrupt slowdown, in which the system takes far longer to settle than theory predicts. The team says plainly that it cannot yet explain it.

That unexplained behavior appears exactly where classical computation runs out of road. Three different state-of-the-art methods were run alongside the experiment; all three track the processor at first, then peel away from the measurement, and from each other, as the complexity building inside the system outgrows what they can represent. Beyond that point, none of them can reliably describe what happens next, while the quantum processor’s results stay consistent as the system grows.

Before drawing any conclusions, the team confirmed the behavior was genuine physics and not an artifact of an imperfect machine, modeling the device’s noise and cross-checking against exact calculations where those remain reliable.

A second finding broadens the platform’s reach. Under a strong enough field, the magnet begins to behave like a fundamentally different kind of magnet, known as an XY-like magnet. Such systems are also studied for spin transport, the way magnetic information travels through a material, opening a wider range of physical systems to study on the same processor.

“This is what makes quantum computing so exciting: we are not simply reproducing what we already know, but uncovering behavior we did not expect,” said Loïc Henriet, CTO at Pasqal. “There is still much we don’t understand about quantum materials, and quantum processors can help us explore these new frontiers.”

“I am really excited to see quantum computing companies and experts in classical simulation working together to understand and observe new physics. Comparing results from the quantum devices and different classical simulations and understanding where we can trust them and where we can’t is extremely important. This is much more beneficial than just trying to prove quantum advantage as it leads to interesting physics results like we have here that will stand the test of time,” said Joseph Tindall, Associate Research Scientist at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Quantum Physics.

The findings do not constitute a demonstrated computational quantum advantage. Instead, they provide evidence of the potential for quantum processors to serve as complementary scientific tools in regimes where existing theoretical and computational methods face significant challenges.

The results are available in a preprint published on arXiv, titled “Exploring the Relaxation Landscape of a 2D Quantum Magnet on a 256-Qubit Processor”. A companion blog post “Unexpected relaxation in a 2D quantum magnet on a 256-qubit processor,” provides a more detailed look at the scientific findings for technical readers.

Chemours has achieved a 57% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions since 2018, reducing about 454,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MT CO2e) compared to 2024 and remaining on track for a 60% absolute reduction by 2030. Cumulative emissions reductions since 2018 are primarily due to energy efficiency improvements, the implementation of process emissions abatement technology, and investments in alternative energy technologies including renewable energy initiatives.

Chemours’ Scope 3 indirect GHG emissions, which are primarily attributable to downstream use of our refrigerant products, saw an absolute reduction of 30% since 2018. This is due in large part to increased adoption of our Opteon™ low-global-warming potential refrigerants. In addition to the decrease in absolute emissions, we also reduced our Scope 3 emissions intensity— measured as metric tons of CO₂e per ton of production—by 4% compared to our 2018 baseline, representing measured progress toward our goal of 25% emissions intensity reduction by 2030. Chemours calculates and reports Scope 3 emissions in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard.

Leveraging Automation to Align Energy Use with Production Demand

Across a diverse network of manufacturing sites, optimizing energy use is more than just a technical challenge—it’s a strategic commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and smart operations. In 2025, several manufacturing sites implemented projects to match resource use directly to real-time process demands so that energy is only consumed when truly needed.

Combining equipment upgrades, automation, operational discipline, and digital monitoring, each initiative demonstrates a unique approach to achieving the right amount of energy at the right time. These initiatives include:

• Chemours Changshu Works site in China installed high-efficiency water pump motors equipped with variable frequency drives, enabling pump operation to scale with process demand. These upgrades reduced unnecessary continuous operation across both continuous and batch pumping systems.

• Chemours Dordrecht Works site in the Netherlands installed variable speed drives on boiler feed water pumps, allowing pump speeds to match real-time process needs rather than running at a constant rate. This adjustment reduces excess energy consumption during varying demand conditions.

• Chemours Titanium Dioxide manufacturing site in DeLisle, Mississippi retrofitted automatic shutoff controls on blend station motors in the packing area to ensure motors only run during active material transfer. Previously, these sizable motors operated nonstop, regardless of demand. This upgrade slashes idle runtime and closely aligns energy use with actual production activity. Our team in DeLisle also developed a site-wide dashboard to monitor the status of electrical motors during plant shutdowns and trigger automated alerts if motors remain running. The tool improves visibility and accountability, helping ensure motors are powered down promptly after shutdown events and reducing unnecessary energy consumption across multiple plant areas.

Together, these initiatives show how automation and strong operational practices can align energy use with real-time manufacturing needs, delivering measurable savings and enabling continuous improvement.

Innovating to Reduce Process Energy Use

Through advanced data analysis, engineering expertise, and innovative design, we have achieved significant energy reductions at Chemours’ Corpus Christi site in Texas. Here, we installed a Process-to-Process Heat Exchanger to reuse heat directly between two process streams and reduce reliance on external heating. This technology reduced annual steam use by nearly 70 million pounds—lowering overall site energy consumption by nearly 4% and cutting annual GHG emissions by over 2,500 tons of CO2e. These improvements also conserve valuable water resources by reducing steam demand. This initiative demonstrates how continuous improvement and effective collaboration across disciplines can advance Chemours’ commitment to environmental responsibility.

Recognition for an Efficient, Energy-Saving Solution

In 2025, our Titanium Dioxide manufacturing site in DeLisle, Mississippi implemented automated standby logic for steam powered mills that reduced idle time, improved process consistency, and eliminated manual intervention. The zero-capital solution achieved $270,000 in cost savings in its first six months of operation and earned a 2026 Better Project Award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) .

Investing in Renewable Energy

Chemours is continuously exploring cost-effective technology options for on-site energy generation or purchased renewable energy agreements through utilities. Where possible, we prioritize projects that support the increase of renewables to local electricity grids in the areas where we operate when cost beneficial. As of year-end 2025, we have committed to procure approximately 226,493 MWh of renewable power annually and are actively deploying renewable electricity solutions at sites in Dordrecht, the Netherlands; Mechelen, Belgium; Belle, West Virginia; New Johnsonville, Tennessee; Mission & Offerman, Georgia; and Starke, Florida.

Addressing Product CO2 Emissions

As Chemours advances the transition of our current refrigerant portfolio to lower-global warming potential (GWP) products, such as our Opteon™ portfolio, we’re helping customers and consumers avoid generating CO2e emissions, which in turn helps reduce our Scope 3 product-use emissions. In 2025, Opteon™ sales helped prevent the release of over 80 million MT CO2 e into the atmosphere by replacing high-GWP refrigerants. We are pleased to have achieved our 2025 goal, with low-GWP products delivering more than 350 million tons of avoided global CO2e emissions.

HONG KONG, Oct. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — 3 E Network Technology Group Limited (Nasdaq: MASK) (the “Company” or “3 E Network”), a business-to-business (“B2B”) information technology (“IT”) business solutions provider committed to becoming a next-generation artificial intelligence (“AI”) infrastructure solutions provider, today detailed the capital allocation plan for the proceeds of its recently announced $5.0 million private placement (the “Private Placement”). In response to growing enterprise AI infrastructure demand, this financing is designed to strengthen the Company’s balance sheet and financial flexibility. The proceeds are expected to be allocated in accordance with the Company’s established strategic roadmap, focusing on underlying technology research and development (“R&D”), compute infrastructure construction, and supply chain working capital management.

Addressing the “Memory Wall” Bottleneck to Advance the Full-Stack AI Storage Strategy and Controller R&D

Within current AI compute architectures, data throughput and storage bottlenecks, recognized industry-wide as the “Memory Wall,” can represent significant constraints on enterprise-grade AI inference efficiency. Building upon the previously announced initial validation of its AI storage controller architecture and core data flow algorithms, a dedicated portion of the financing proceeds will be utilized to advance the proprietary controller into its next R&D phase. This includes advancing the front-end register-transfer level design and initiating field-programmable gate array prototyping.

This R&D investment is a component of 3 E Network’s “full-stack AI storage strategy.” The Company intends to progressively integrate the proprietary controller into hardware devices such as memory, solid-state drives, and all-flash servers. By optimizing chip-level data flow efficiency, the Company aims to deliver competitive, integrated hardware and software solutions to B2B clients, thereby strengthening its technological capabilities in AI infrastructure.

Advancing Early-Stage Infrastructure and Power Deployment at the Mikkeli Green Compute Center in Finland

In conjunction with the recently executed 9 MVA grid connection agreement, another primary use of the financing is to support the Company’s AI compute center project in Mikkeli, Finland. Following the confirmation of its core grid connection arrangement, the project is advancing into the infrastructure adaptation and early-stage engineering phase as planned.

Designated funds are expected to be used for early-stage site structural modifications to meet the engineering requirements of high-density AI servers regarding load-bearing capacity, thermal aisles, and physical space. Concurrently, the funds will support the planning of the internal power distribution network and the preliminary procurement of core power distribution and switchgear equipment. By securing critical long-lead-time components in advance, the Company aims to mitigate potential delays in the global supply chain. Furthermore, the technical team plans to use a portion of the proceeds to conduct internal network topology testing and the initial development of the compute orchestration architecture, with the aim of supporting the compute center’s transition to the server deployment and commercial operation phases according to schedule.

Optimizing Supply Chain Working Capital to Support Bulk Enterprise Hardware Fulfillment and Core Operations

In addition to technology and infrastructure projects, this financing is also intended to support the Company’s core operations. The cross-border distribution of bulk, high-end enterprise IT hardware (such as all-flash arrays and high-density storage servers) typically involves a prolonged cash conversion cycle and significant upfront working capital requirements.

Regarding the recently disclosed approximately $5.0 million core storage hardware order, the financing proceeds are expected to supplement the working capital required for supply chain operations. This measure is intended not only to assist the Company in securing more favorable commercial terms in procurement and absorbing supply chain lead-time fluctuations, but also to provide working capital support for existing large orders and potential future B2B bulk procurements, thereby supporting the cash flow management of the Company’s core business.

Management Participation Reflects Confidence in Long-Term Strategy

In this $5.0 million Private Placement, Dr. Tingjun Yang, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, subscribed to approximately $2.1 million through an affiliated entity, representing over 40% of the total subscription amount. This transaction structure, which closely aligns management and shareholder interests, conveys to the capital markets a positive expectation from the management team regarding the Company’s current business fundamentals and the execution prospects of its dual-engine strategy.

Management Commentary

Dr. Tingjun Yang, Chief Executive Officer of 3 E Network, stated, “In the AI infrastructure sector, the ability to translate technological innovation into commercially viable solutions is critical for corporate development. The substantive participation of the management team in this financing reflects our confidence in the Company’s ability to execute its business plans. The Company will continue to adhere to a disciplined approach to capital allocation while steadily advancing our strategic objectives.”

Dr. Yang added, “The allocation of this $5.0 million has clear strategic directives: by supplementing working capital, we aim to safeguard current hardware deliveries and maintain a healthy cash position; by advancing the early-stage infrastructure of the Finnish center, we plan to secure medium-term compute service scale; and by progressing the R&D of the AI storage controller, we are committed to building long-term technological assets. The Company will ensure that capital is effectively deployed into business nodes with strategic compound value, with the objective of generating sustainable long-term value for our shareholders.”

Our opportunity is to build on that experience with other applications that are accessible, engaging and relevant to other performance-focused customers.”

Turning Brain Signals into Interactive Training

Versus uses dry-sensor EEG to measure brainwave activity and transmit signals wirelessly to its first app. Flight and driving simulations respond to targeted brain-activity patterns, providing immediate feedback as users practice maintaining focus and regulating their brain state, while session-level tracking allows users to monitor their progress over time.

This combination of portable hardware, personalized training and interactive software provides a foundation for Firefly to pursue opportunities in additional human-performance applications.

Connecting Today’s BCI Applications with Firefly’s Brain Foundation Model Strategy

Versus complements Firefly’s previously announced initiative to build what the Company believes would be the world’s first EEG/ERP-based foundation model of the human brain, connecting commercial products with its longer-term investment in AI and brain data.

While Versus deploys real-time EEG feedback for interactive human-performance training, Firefly’s foundation model initiative aims to use broader patterns in brain activity by harnessing its U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k)-cleared Evoke platform, its proprietary database of more than 200,000 standardized EEG/ERP scans, its AI, and NVIDIA GPU acceleration.

Firefly believes these capabilities could ultimately enable more personalized training, more sophisticated interpretation of brain signals and new non-invasive BCI applications, subject to further development and validation.

“Versus and our foundation model initiative connect two strategic priorities: understanding brain activity more deeply and translating that understanding into new biomarker discoveries and practical products,” said Greg Lipschitz, Chief Executive Officer of Firefly. “Versus provides a commercial application today, while our foundation model project could create opportunities to contribute to the broader BCI and AI ecosystem. As BCI continues to evolve with innovators such as Elon Musk’s Neuralink, Sam Altman’s Merge Labs, and others advancing their respective technologies, we believe Firefly’s focus on standardized EEG/ERP data and AI could position us as a valuable contributor to this exciting new field and create additional avenues for long-term commercial growth and shareholder value.”
