Fremont, CA, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ASUS today announced ASUS Googlebook 14 (CX9406CAA), a 14-inch ultraportable laptop that’s the first ever ASUS laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence. Built for users who want a more connected experience with their Android phone, ASUS Googlebook 14 combines effortless portability, strong performance, and a premium-crafted design that keeps productivity moving seamlessly throughout the day.

ASUS Announces the New ASUS Googlebook 14, Now Available for Pre-Order in the United States

ASUS Googlebook 14 CX9406CAA

ASUS Googlebook 14 comes with 12 months of Google AI Pro. Users can get expanded access to powerful features in Gemini, Flow, and Gemini Notebook as well as Gemini directly in the Google apps they know and use. Plus, they get 5 TB of cloud storage to keep photos and files backed up.1

Featherweight powerhouse with uncompromised strength

Weighing just 2.18lbs with an ultra-thin 0.43-inch frame, the ASUS Googlebook 14 is engineered for mobility without sacrificing durability. Its CNC-machined magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis helps deliver high rigidity and long-term structural stability in a form that’s easy to carry on-the-go.

ASUS Googlebook 14 is finished in a Dusk Ash color, and features Nano Ceramic Technology that helps resist scratches, stains, and abrasion. Tested to meet the US military-grade MIL-STD 810H standard and ASUS Superior Durability standards2, the design brings a premium look and feel to a laptop that is ready for daily use.

ASUS Googlebook 14 delivers performance that belies its ultraportable form factor, with an Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and up to a 512GB PCIe® 4.0 SSD. An advanced cooling system supports sustained performance while keeping operation whisper-quiet, helping users stay productive without distraction. A 70Wh battery delivers up to 18 hours of battery life3, supporting flexible work throughout the day.

Refined sensory experiences for everyday productivity

ASUS Googlebook 14 is designed to make every interaction feel more precise and more premium. The 14-inch 16:10 3K OLED HDR touchscreen delivers vivid detail, deep contrast, and up to 1000 nits peak HDR brightness, while a 120Hz refresh rate helps visuals feel smooth and responsive. Corning® Gorilla™ Glass Victus® with Corning® Gorilla™ Matte anti-glare technology helps improve durability and reduce reflections for clearer viewing in bright environments.

Audio is equally refined. A six-speaker system with dual force-canceling woofers and two tweeters creates a fuller, more immersive soundstage for calls, presentations, and media. The large haptic touchpad uses six-point force sensing to provide consistent click pressure and tactile feedback, while the backlit keyboard with 1.5mm key travel is tuned for comfortable all-day typing. Together, these details help ASUS Googlebook 14 deliver a polished experience across sight, sound, and touch.

Frictionless by design, with Gemini Intelligence

ASUS Googlebook 14 is designed for Gemini Intelligence, bringing personal, proactive help into everyday work.

Features such as Magic Pointer4 and proactive suggestions5 help users take action faster: Magic Pointer lets users point to and select onscreen objects to ask, compare, or create with Gemini; while proactive suggestions give users helpful actions from Gemini, providing suggested actions based on what’s on the screen without the user even having to ask.

With Magic Pointer6, wiggling the cursor activates Gemini. The cursor just got its first glow-up in years. Now users can do more than just point and click — they can turn two images into a poster or see a date and instantly add it to their calendar.

Gemini also provides help that’s a step ahead, surfacing relevant details from emails, recall calendar information, and providing suggestions based on what is currently on screen. The experience stays connected across devices and workflows. With supported Android devices, users can start a task on a phone and finish it on ASUS Googlebook 14, or cast phone apps to the laptop for a more seamless way to work7.

This device is paired with strong local connectivity. ASUS Googlebook 14 includes two Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C® full-function ports that support Power Delivery and DisplayPort™ 1.4; two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports; an HDMI® 2.1b port; and a 3.5mm audio combo jack, reducing the need for adapters. Additionally, WiFi 7 support helps users move smoothly between local workflows and cloud-based collaboration.

Adds AI accelerators and vision processors to existing product portfolio

CHANDLER, Ariz., Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Microchip Technology Incorporated (Nasdaq: MCHP), a broadline supplier of semiconductors committed to making innovative design easier through total system solutions, today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Hailo, a provider of accelerated edge AI processors, vision processors, robotics processors and AI software technologies. The acquisition advances Microchip’s strategy to enable intelligent, connected systems at the edge and expands its ability to deliver complete solutions for Edge AI, machine vision, robotics and Physical AI applications. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on Microchip’s financial results.

As artificial intelligence rapidly moves from experimentation to deployment, developers increasingly require solutions that combine AI acceleration, embedded processing, connectivity, security, power efficiency and long-term product support. By bringing together Microchip’s broad embedded systems portfolio with Hailo’s AI and vision technologies, Microchip has broadened its ability to help customers move more quickly from prototype to production.

“AI is becoming a foundational capability across embedded systems, from industrial automation and robotics to intelligent transportation, smart infrastructure and advanced vision applications,” said Steve Sanghi, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Microchip Technology. “Hailo strengthens our ability to deliver complete, production-ready platforms that enable customers to deploy intelligent systems at scale. This acquisition expands our product offerings in one of the most important technology transitions in the embedded industry.”

The addition of the Hailo product portfolio expands Microchip’s Edge AI offerings with proven AI accelerators and vision processors supporting computer vision, transformer-based models, multimodal workloads and advanced video analytics.  With this acquisition, Microchip’s portfolio will enable customers to develop intelligent edge systems ranging from low-power smart cameras to high-performance robotics, autonomous machines and next-generation Physical AI platforms.

“The completion of this acquisition is an important enhancement to Microchip’s Edge AI strategy,” said Mark Reiten, Senior Corporate Vice President of Microchip’s Intelligent Compute Business Unit. “Hailo brings industry-leading edge AI acceleration, vision processing expertise and a vibrant developer ecosystem. Combined with Microchip’s embedded processing, FPGA, connectivity, security, analog and power solutions, we can deliver a broader and more complete platform for customers building intelligent edge systems.”

Hailo brings an established ecosystem that includes more than 100 customers, an active developer community exceeding 10,000 users and broad engagement across open-source and AI development platforms. Microchip’s strategy is to continue investing in software tools, development environments and next-generation technologies that simplify AI adoption and accelerate deployment into production applications.

“Joining Microchip opens exciting opportunities for our customers, partners and developer community,” said Orr Danon, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hailo. “Microchip’s global reach, customer relationships and embedded systems expertise provide a powerful platform for expanding access to advanced Edge AI and vision technologies.  As part of Microchip, we are well positioned to accelerate innovation and help customers bring intelligent systems to market faster.”

Microchip plans to continue supporting Hailo’s existing product portfolio, software environment and customer engagements while driving future innovation across AI acceleration, vision processing and intelligent edge computing.  Customers will be able to benefit from expanded access to Microchip’s worldwide sales organization, technical support resources and broad portfolio of embedded solutions.

ASUS Googlebook 14 Launches in Canada as the First ASUS Laptop Designed for Gemini Intelligence

TORONTO, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ASUS today announced ASUS Googlebook 14, a 14-inch ultraportable laptop that’s the first ever ASUS laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence. Built for users who want a more connected experience with their Android phone, ASUS Googlebook 14 combines effortless portability, strong performance, and a premium-crafted design that helps work stay in flow throughout the day.

ASUS Googlebook 14 will be available for pre-order in Canada starting September 21, 2026, across the ASUS Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Canada Computers, Costco, and Staples, with availability in store from October 4, 2026.

Featherweight powerhouse with uncompromised strength

Starting at just 0.99kg and as thin as 10.9mm, ASUS Googlebook 14 is engineered for mobility without sacrificing durability. Its CNC-machined magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis helps deliver high rigidity and long-term structural stability in a form that’s easy to carry between entertainment, commutes, and remote workspaces.

ASUS Googlebook 14 delivers performance that belies its ultraportable form factor, with up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Series 3 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 512GB PCIe® 4.0 SSD.

Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® with Corning Gorilla Matte anti-glare technology helps improve durability and reduce reflections for clearer viewing in bright environments.

Features such as Magic Pointer4 and proactive suggestions5 help users take action faster: Magic Pointer lets users point to and select onscreen objects to ask, compare, or create with Gemini; while proactive suggestions power users with proactive help from Gemini, providing suggested actions based on what’s on the screen without the user even having to ask.

With Magic Pointer6, wiggling the cursor activates Gemini. The cursor just got its first glow-up in years. Now users can do more than just point and click — they can turn two images into a poster, or see a date and instantly add it to their calendar.

Gemini also provides help that’s a step ahead, surfacing relevant details from emails, recall calendar information, and providing suggestions based on what is on screen at the moment. The experience stays connected across devices and workflows. With supported Android devices, users can start a task on a phone and finish it on ASUS Googlebook 14, or cast phone apps to the laptop for a more seamless way to work7.

This device is paired with strong local connectivity. ASUS Googlebook 14 includes two Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C® full-function ports that support Power Delivery and DisplayPort™ 1.4; two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports; an HDMI® 2.1b port; and a 3.5mm audio combo jack, reducing the need for adapters in day-to-day work. WiFi 7 support helps users move smoothly between local workflows and cloud-based collaboration, while the thin chassis still offers the port selection needed for serious productivity.

Launch offers across Canada

To celebrate the launch, ASUS Googlebook 14 arrives with limited-time offers8 at retailers across Canada, starting September 21, 2026, at 9:00 A.M. ET.

Company Advances Toward Larger Contracts Pending ITAR Certification

Sector 4 import authorization—approved and effective September 17, 2026—positions HGI and Premier Graphene to pursue larger defense contracts pending ITAR certification

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Premier Graphene Inc. (OTC: BIEI) today announced that its affiliate, HGI Industrial Technologies, S.A.P.I. de C.V., has received official authorization from Mexico’s Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT), the country’s Tax Administration Service, to expand its registration in the Padrón de Importadores de Sectores Específicos (Registry of Importers of Specific Sectors) to include Sector 4: firearms, spare parts, accessories, and ammunition.

Issued and effective September 17, 2026, the authorization covers Sector 4, “Armas de fuego, refacciones, accesorios y munición” (firearms, spare parts, accessories, and ammunition). The SAT confirmed that HGI’s application for Actualización – Aumento y Disminución de Sectores Específicos (Update – Increase and Decrease of Specific Sectors) fully complies with applicable regulations under the Reglamento Interior del Servicio de Administración Tributaria (Internal Regulations of the Tax Administration Service) and the Reglas Generales de Comercio Exterior (General Rules of Foreign Trade), and the authority rendered the request “PROCEDENTE” (APPROVED / PROCEEDING).

With this authorization, HGI Industrial Technologies is now cleared to import products under the applicable tariff classifications, including munitions classified under fraction 9306.30.99. This classification covers bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, missiles, cartridges, and other munitions, projectiles, and their parts (including shot, pellets, and wads for cartridges), as well as related ammunition such as mortar rounds and other specialized munitions and accessories, including aircraft and vessels for military use, in each case subject to the applicable non-tariff regulations and restrictions.

Premier Graphene Inc. Chief Executive Officer Ivan Mendez said the Company is currently awaiting two pending approvals: ITAR brokerage certification and ITAR certification for the sale of graphite and graphene materials. Once those certifications are in hand, Premier intends to advance to larger contracts involving these product categories.

Pedro Mendez of HGI Industrial Technologies commented: “Approvals of this kind take time, as they require a thorough vetting process, and we are pleased to have secured these important authorizations. We now await the pending certifications of our affiliate, Premier Graphene Inc., which will allow us to pursue more complex, higher-value contracts that advance the national security interests of both countries.”

As is standard, the SAT notification notes that the authority retains the right to suspend registration in the Padrón de Importadores (Importers Registry) or the Padrón de Importadores de Sectores Específicos (Registry of Importers of Specific Sectors) under the conditions set forth in the applicable rules. All related registration and update procedures with the SAT are provided free of charge.
