The world is experiencing some of the most important secular growth trends that we will see in our lifetime: the rise of digitalization and the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables—changes being driven by unprecedented growth in electrification and climate change.

We’re responding by deploying our four-part sustainability strategy, which addresses environmental, social and governance issues. It also allows us to meet today’s changing power management needs, while making good on our mission to improve the quality of life and the environment.

Within our four part strategy sit our 2030 sustainability targets, which include reducing the carbon emissions from our operations by half, lowering product and supply chain emissions, certifying all manufacturing sites as zero waste to landfill, and achieving carbon neutral operations. We have also set targets to further enhance employee safety, development and engagement, and to provide more transparency into the progress we’re making toward achieving our ESG goals.

New Holland Agriculture, a brand of CNH Industrial, recently attended the 31st Aapresid Congress, the Argentine Association of Producers in Direct Sowing, which took place at the Metropolitan Convention Center of Rosario, Santa Fe, from August 9 to 11.

The motto of the 31st Aapresid Congress was “C, element of life”, in reference to Carbon and the importance of improving soils to fight climate change. With this, New Holland took the opportunity to present the T6 Methane Power tractor, which has been recently acclaimed for its performance and sustainable design.

The T6 Methane Power tractor features the latest technology and is powered by nature itself. In this way, we include our customers in the challenge of producing more and in an increasingly sustainable way,” said Tomás Liceda, Commercial Director of New Holland Argentina.

With the T6 Methane Power tractor, the reductions in matter emissions exceed 90% and achieve a reduction of up to 80% of CO2 compared to a diesel tractor, maintaining the same performance as a similar conventional one. By using biomethane, the carbon footprint of rural property can reach zero. With this, CNH Industrial is proud to showcase its T6 Methane Power tractor as a symbol for its strong commitment to sustainability.

Protecting Industrial Systems with City Block

CACI’s City Block provides cybersecurity specialists, network administrators, industrial control systems, and operational technology (ICS/OT) security testers with a software-based, cyber-physical modeling and simulation environment to test their industrial systems against intrusions.

City Block technology leverages Unity and merges ICS/OT networks with IT networks to provide a holistic testing and training solution in a scalable, virtual reality (VR) platform for more realistic – and more memorable – testing and training experiences at a fraction of the cost of physical models. This results in more resilient systems and teams that can ensure continuity of operations under the most challenging conditions.

CACI’s City Block technology started as a LEGO® model of a “city block” that included an electric substation and traffic lights. The program evolved from there and in 2020, the company completed City Block’s first proof-of-concept using the Unity Gaming engine, and CACI has used it exclusively for its cyber-physical interfaces ever since.

“City Block provides customers with a realistic environment for employees to test and train, which can be anything from testing new hardware and software to training personnel on the systemwide effects of a cyber-attack. The original City Block plastic brick model is now a new permanent display at the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology. The display leverages technologies used in City Block to teach children about the computer systems that control varying aspects of the world today and helps to preemptively prepare the cyber warriors for the future.

In 2022, the site’s nature trail achieved Certified Gold status by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC)—the highest level of certification. The Washington Works integrated approach encompasses the creation and maintenance of a variety of wildlife habitats on the manufacturing site and land adjacent to the site. The program serves a wide variety of flora and fauna, 2.72 miles of networked nature trails, and learning programs geared to all ages. Across the organization, seven of our sites have received WHC certification—five gold, one silver, and one basic certification—and are engaged in 67 actively managed WHC projects.
