“The Kia EV3 represents a bold step forward in our commitment to making electric mobility accessible to more Americans,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “With its striking geometric design inspired by EV9, advanced technology, and spacious interior, the EV3 brings the innovation of our EV lineup into an entry EV SUV tailored for the way U.S. customers live, work, and travel.”

The EV3 is tailored to meet the lifestyle and usage of both younger and older buyers, from millennials to baby boomers, centered on universally appealing attributes such as affordability, utility, and maneuverability.  Based on the 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV3 features an energy-dense battery allowing up to a Kia-estimated2 320 miles of range on certain trims with fast charging capabilities.

Right-sized for those who welcome the invitation to go electric, the 2027 Kia EV3 will be available in five trim levels: Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT. It will go on sale in late 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to the EV3’s on-sale date.

Engaging on the Outside

Guided by Kia’s global Opposites United design philosophy, the EV3 juxtaposes contrasts found in nature with those of the human and industrial world. As such, it shares the same fundamental design language as Kia’s pioneering EV6 and EV9 models.

Upon approach, the first thing to catch the eye is the star map DRL design, Kia’s signature lighting concept with standard small cube LED projector head lamps. The vertically arranged lights emphasize the EV3’s broad front-end, while the horizontally configured lights underscore the latest interpretation of Kia’s Tiger Face, giving the EV3 an expressive and futuristic look. Overall, the EV3’s front-facing persona exudes EV9 like boldness and confidence in a concisely wrapped package.

The aerodynamic profile combines short overhangs and a sloping roof that gives the illusion that it’s floating as it moves rearward. Flush-type roof rails are standard (bridge-type roof rails are optional). The roofline leads back to the combination taillamps that reflect the Star Map lighting design found up front. The hidden rear door handles lend to the EV3’s clean side view similar to EV9.

The EV3’s planted stance meets the pavement with either standard 17-inch or available 19-inch alloy wheels wearing all-season tires. Compared to the base trims, the EV3 GT-Line and GT bring exclusive design elements to create more visually striking packages. The GT gets unique 19-inch wheels and eye-catching green brake caliper covers that match other exterior and interior neon green accents.

And on certain trims, a special Nightfall black appearance package, specifically imagined for the U.S., will be available. Nightfall will include unique gloss black wheels, black emblems, bridge-type roof rails, and a unique dark gray interior color to exude a more serious character.

Space, Comfort and Utility Inside

In the same way that ‘Opposites United’ defines the exterior of the EV3, Kia’s unique design language brings nature and humanity together on the inside. Here, designers applied durable materials while still achieving a rich look and feel.

The home-like cabin is headlined by an expansive standard panoramic display consisting of dual 12.3-inch displays and a 5-inch climate display. GT-Line includes a three-spoke steering wheel, metal pedals, and off-white 2-tone seats, while the GT model also gets sport bucket front seats and neon green accented seatbelts, steering wheel, and interior trim.

The driver and front passenger area features a clean and open layout appealing to those who value simplicity and practicality. An open center console with retractable cupholders allows for flexible storage for larger items and features both open and covered storage compartments for the flexibility to meet customer needs.

The cabin experience is further elevated with standard dual-zone Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), optional heated17 and ventilated front seats, and optional multicolor ambient mood lighting. Rear seat passengers can enjoy standard features such as seat backs that recline up to 39 degrees and air vents that provide a restful atmosphere.

In the cargo area, EV3 delivers on roominess and utility thanks to 60/40 flat folding rear seats, a generously sized cargo area with 56.5 cubic feet of capacity behind the first row and 26.1 cubic feet of capacity behind the second row, a standard two-position luggage board with underfloor storage, and a 0.9 cubic foot frunk, a feature not commonly found in this class. An optional Smart Power Liftgate is also available, which automatically opens by way of Smart Key for easy load-in of groceries or gear. Opening height and speed of the liftgate can be set through the infotainment system.

Electrified Power and Performance

Underpinned by Kia’s dedicated 400V E-GMP platform, the Kia EV3 is powered by a choice of two batteries options: a standard-range 58.3 kWh battery (Light) or a long-range 81.4 kWh battery (Wind, Land, GT-Line, GT). The smaller of the two batteries provides power to the front-wheels only, while the larger battery makes all-wheel-drive (AWD) possible (optional on Wind and Land; standard on GT-Line and GT). As far as all-electric range goes, the 58.3 kWh battery allows up to a Kia-estimated2 220 miles and the 81.4 kWh battery allows up to a Kia-estimated2 320 miles (FWD).

On the performance side, the EV3 GT outputs 288 horsepower (up from 261 hp on AWD EV3 models). Available Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) and Active Sound Design (ASD) further enhance driving engagement and help deliver a more spirited on-road experience.

The EV3’s driving stability, ride comfort and responsiveness are the result of a Macpherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link geometry at the rear. The EV3 GT benefits from a sport-tuned suspension and steering. Aside from ride and handling prowess, advanced chassis development was aimed at reducing NVH.  Engineers added sound absorption throughout the body and applied damping materials to increase quietness for highway and around-town driving.

To further enhance efficiency and performance, the EV3’s aerodynamics have been improved. Kia expanded use of lightweight body materials, employed aero wheels, integrated a front bumper active air flap and installed a full underbody cover. The result is a drag coefficient of 0.275 Cd.

When it comes to DC fast charging, the EV3’s battery can power up from 10 to 80 percent charge in an estimated 29 minutes1 for the 58.3 kWh (Light) battery and 31 minutes1 for the 81.4 kWh (Wind, Land, GT-Line, GT) battery.

For ease of use, there’s a native NACS charging port on the front passenger side of the EV3. And with the standard Kia Plug and Charge (PnC)3 feature, the EV3 can now charge seamlessly by pulling up to a compatible charging station and plugging in. This process only requires a one-time login and setup through Kia Charge Pass in the Kia Access app.

Kia’s innovative i-Pedal 3.06 system helps drivers to smoothly control the speed of the vehicle and can bring it to a complete stop using only the accelerator pedal. This feature works in tandem with EV3’s adaptive Smart Regeneration System7 function to help recapture energy otherwise lost when brakes are applied. The i-Pedal 3.0 system also now works in reverse and the EV3’s i-Pedal memory function reverts to the last-used i-Pedal setting when the car restarts.

Taking practicality to new heights, the EV3 brings available Vehicle to Load (V2L) functionality,8 allowing the vehicle to provide power from its battery to compatible external devices. This can mean everything from powering a laptop, brewing coffee, charging up an e-bike and countless other applications. V2L opens the door to activities and projects that may otherwise require a cumbersome external power source.

Beyond V2L, EV3 also brings available Vehicle to Home (V2H)18 functionality via a Wallbox bidirectional charging system,19 which can reduce utility costs by providing power back to the home during peak energy usage times. V2H can also help keep parts of the home powered during outages (requires power recovery unit in addition to bidirectional charger).

Packed with Convenience, Tech and Connectivity Features

The EV3 brings together smart and innovative content to elevate the everyday user experience. This starts with Kia’s available Digital Key 2.0.20 This feature transforms your compatible smartphone or mobile device into a virtual car key, enabling locking/unlocking doors, powering the vehicle on, and sharing vehicle access with others remotely via text.

The EV3 features a standard panoramic display comprised of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 5-inch climate display and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Together, these elements form the core of Kia’s connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC). Setting a new benchmark for in-car content, the Kia-pioneered system which first arrived with the EV9, offers robust connectivity and entertainment features that can be enhanced remotely through over-the-air (OTA) software updates.21 Available through the Kia Connect store, Entertainment and Data Services (EDS)15 is an enhancement to Kia’s existing music streaming and Wi-Fi hotspot services and now includes available video streaming through Netflix and YouTube,16 in addition to gaming and productivity apps.

The ccNC system also allows drivers to personalize the cockpit with available themed dashboard functions and captivating graphics22 representing some of their favorite sports and entertainment brands, including Disney,23 Marvel,24 National Geographic,25 Pixar,26 Star Wars,27 FIFA World Cup 2026,28 and the NBA,29 with more on the way. Wireless Apple CarPlay30 and Android Auto31 come standard and connect seamlessly to the infotainment system using the smartphone’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.

The EV3 owner can enjoy a more immersive experience with their vehicle by way of Kia’s highly intuitive, voice-recognition-based AI Assistant.32 This system uses machine learning to achieve a higher level of organic interaction between driver and vehicle, which can deepen the human-to-machine interaction over time.

Other available convenience, tech and connectivity features include a 12-inch head-up display (HUD),12 a premium eight-speaker Harman Kardon33 audio system, wireless smartphone charging, 360° Surround-View Monitor (SVM),13 and MyQ Connected Garage,34 an intuitive garage door management system that brings peace of mind by addressing the question, “Did I close my garage door?”

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Driving Convenience

Aside from eight standard airbags,9 including rear side airbags, the EV3 offers an impressive suite of ADAS systems10 that support driving and collision avoidance. Of those, Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) Assist11 is among the most noteworthy, capable of applying automatic emergency braking in certain circumstances to help avoid a collision or reduce the impact of a crash.

Two applications of FCA are standard FCA Junction Turning (FCA-JT) and available FCA Junction Crossing (FCA-JC).  FCA-JT can help avoid a collision with a detected oncoming vehicle when turning left at an intersection with the turn signal active. FCA-JC monitors the roadway when driving straight across an intersection and is designed to detect vehicles approaching on the left or right side. Both systems are designed to initiate audible and visual alerts followed by automatic emergency braking, in certain circumstances.

Other key driving convenience systems available on the EV3 include Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2),35 Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA-R)36 and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA).37

With more cabin space, more cargo space, and more screen space than the previous generation, the 2027 Seltos delivers impressive content for those who crave turning any drive into an adventure.

“With the launch of the second-generation Kia Seltos the goal was to develop a small SUV that would raise the bar for the segment,” said Orth Hedrick, executive director, Product Planning, Kia North America. “Packed with many standard and available features found on the all-new 2027 Telluride, the 2027 Seltos offers a thought-provoking purchase consideration for cost-conscious shoppers who crave adventure.”

In addition to being larger than its predecessor, the five-passenger 2027 Seltos brings in new features that elevate the small SUV segment, such as flush door handles, an available panoramic sunroof, available Surround View Monitor6, and an available up to nearly 30 inches of total combined screens9 with Kia’s latest ccNC infotainment tech, including Over-the-Air updates2. These features, as well as the available memory power seats, Multi-Mode AWD, and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning are all features that can also be found in Kia’s Telluride flagship SUV. In addition to carrying over the normally aspirated 2.0-liter and turbocharged 1.6-liter engines, the 2027 Seltos offers a new hybrid powertrain that combines performance and hybrid efficiency, including a Kia first electric-AWD (e-AWD)1 on a Hybrid SUV. More information on the HEV will be shared closer to the vehicle’s planned on-sale date in late 2026.

The 2.0-liter will be offered in LX, S, EX and X-Line, while the 1.6T will be available in X-Line trim only. The 2.0-liter and 1.6T are expected to arrive in the United States in Q2 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to their on-sale date.

Exterior Design: The Authentic Modern SUV

The Seltos is the latest vehicle to benefit from Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy, bringing together contrasting elements of nature and humanity to create thoughtful, expressive designs. The new Seltos also takes styling cues from the flagship Telluride SUV to carve out its own legacy as a small SUV that embodies a dynamic and energetic persona. Inspired by the design language of the Telluride, amber DRL frames the front fascia, while bold angles, clean lines, combines with flush door handles delivers a strong distinctive presence. At its core, the 2027 Seltos is designed for versatility. It is longer, wider, and boasts a wheelbase that is 2.4 inches greater than its predecessor.

The standard wheels are 16-inch alloys, and the Seltos X-Line 2.0L comes with larger 18-inch alloy wheels, with black 19-inch wheels on the X-Line 1.6T and X-Line HEV when equipped with e-AWD. The X-Line trim also features unique bumpers and side sills with Piano Black trim and dark gun metal accents, underscoring its distinctive persona. New colors include Terrain Brown, Frost Blue and Snow White Pearl with a distinctive black roof. Ground clearance has increased from 7.3 inches to an available 8.1 inches.

Interior Design: Functionally Sophisticated

The larger exterior dimensions of the new 2027 Seltos result in a more spacious cabin and the upright greenhouse allows for exceptional outward visibility. The cabin’s overall design is highly influenced by Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy. This includes the squared-off steering wheel, open center console design, and clean lines that visually connect the Seltos to the Telluride. The Seltos interior is further punctuated by “blades” that extend the aesthetic of the dash into the front doors, creating an enveloping effect around the driver and front passenger.

Drawing inspiration from the Telluride and EV9, the Seltos Hybrid features a stalk-mounted shifter and push-button start. This is an ergonomic shift controller that moves right to where your hand naturally rests at the steering wheel. In doing so, the center console is left open, with plenty of space for water bottles, phones, and other small items.

In addition to its unique exterior, X-Line comes with an exclusive monotone black interior with SynTex upholstery and Telluride-inspired mesh headrests. The X-Line seats also boast standard four-way lumbar support and the X-Line Prestige Package includes front driver Relaxation Seat.

The longer wheelbase and greater overall length result in more legroom front and rear with 1-inch increase in rear legroom. Overall head room, hip room and shoulder room also increase.

Cargo capacity is improved, with an estimated 64.1 cu-ft. behind the first row and an estimated 27.8 cu-ft. behind the second row. The new Seltos also features a height adjustable and multi-folding luggage board and new flexible Kia Add Gear attachment points that offer drivers more storage solutions for their next adventure.

Tech Suite: Functionally Sophisticated

The all-new Seltos has thoughtful deployment of technology designed for daily life, highlighted by the digital dash display. It includes a standard 12.3-inch digital touchscreen display and is available with a 12.3-inch instrument display and 5-inch climate display panel9. The ccNC setup features over-the-air2 update capability. Wireless Apple CarPlay10 and Android Auto11 are standard across all trims.

Kia’s generative AI assistant3 allows for a more natural conversation, and can be initiated simply by saying, “Hey, Kia…”. Kia Connect12 allows consumers to use their compatible smartphones to send remote commands such as lock, unlock, cool, heat and start the vehicle13.

The 2027 Seltos is available with Entertainment and Data Services14, which supports streaming for Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube. There are also available display themes for some of Disney’s© most iconic brands, which will be introduced throughout 2026. Display themes are also available for all 30 NBA teams, as well as themes to celebrate Kia’s sponsorship of the 2026 FIFA World Cup15. Kia myQ Connected Garage offers fully integrated, convenient garage access that lets you remotely manage and control your garage door through your Kia touchscreen display16. Experience all the new ways to stay connected and entertained with these upcoming features and more, all available in the Kia Connect Store.

The 2027 Seltos can help keep devices charged with multiple standard USB-C ports that span both rows. The front-row ports are nestled between the center console and the climate controls and include a media port and two charging ports. The rear-seat charging ports are integrated into the first-row seatbacks for easy access.

Seltos Powertrains: Three Ways to Adventure

The Seltos is the only offering in the segment to offer three powertrain options starting with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). For those seeking lively pickup, the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine develops an estimated 190 horsepower with standard advanced Multi-Mode AWD system. This engine routes power through an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual control. The 2.0L powertrain is offered with front-wheel drive or an available advanced Multi-Mode AWD system1. Depending on trim, 8.1 inches of ground clearance, the Seltos bolsters its capability within the segment.

Rounding out the lineup is a hybrid powertrain, which is a first for the Seltos. An advanced 1.6-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine is paired with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission designed to enhance both performance and efficiency. Front-wheel drive HEV improves driving efficiency while available e-AWD1, Kia first on a HEV SUV, provides more power with on-demand all-wheel drive capability to provide a more rewarding driving experience. More information on the Seltos HEV will become available later this year. Official fuel economy figures for these versatile powertrains will be available closer to their respective on-sale dates.

Seltos ADAS: Elevated Peace of Mind

The all-new 2027 Seltos comes with a comprehensive list of standard and available Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)1 bringing features typically found in more upscale SUVs. This includes new-to-Seltos features such as standard Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) Assist with Junction Turning, standard Front and Reverse Parking Distance Warning, and newly available Side Parking Distance Warning with Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance. The Seltos now offers an optional 360° Surround-View Monitor, as well as Kia’s Blind-Spot View Monitor17, which presents a video feed display of the left or right blind spot area on the digital display when the corresponding turn-signal is activated. This Blind Spot View Monitor and 360° Surround-View Monitor are optional on the X-Line trim.

The list of standard ADAS features includes Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, High-Beam Assist, Intelligent Speed-Limit Warning, and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection. It also comes standard with Lane Following Assist 2. Available ADAS features include Intelligent Speed-Limit Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Avoidance and Safe Exit Warning18, which is designed to provide an alert to occupants if it detects another vehicle approaching as they are exiting the vehicle.

Seltos Availability

The all-new 2027 Kia Seltos 2.0L and 1.6T is anticipated to go on sale in the U.S. in Q2 2026, with the HEV expected to arrive in late Q4. Pricing, timing availability, specific trim details, and EPA-rated fuel economy estimates are subject to future announcements.

NEW YORK, April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Join the fight against suicide prevention among young adults and the construction industry this spring. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), a leading suicide prevention organization, invites communities across the country to participate in Out of the Darkness Campus Walks and Construction Hike for Hope events that raise funds for AFSP’s research and education efforts. To participate and find an event near you, visit afsp.org/give.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among those ages 15-24. Through AFSP’s Out of the Darkness (OOTD) Campus Walks, high school and college students, faculty and others get the chance to raise mental health awareness and remind their peers they are not alone. In 2025, AFSP hosted 176 Campus Walks with over 29,000 participants, and they raised over $1.7 million for the cause.

“As someone who has lived with suicidal ideation, I became a walk chair because I believe that community and open conversations about mental health and suicide can create hope and make it easier for people to seek help,” said Tobey Smith, University of Central Florida campus walk chair. “No matter your story — whether you’re struggling, supporting someone, or grieving — you are not alone. Through connection and support, we find the hope and resilience to keep going.”

Additionally, AFSP will host Construction Hike for Hope events throughout the spring and summer. The construction industry faces one of the highest suicide rates of any profession, with an estimated twelve construction workers across the U.S. dying by suicide daily. Through these events, communities come together to share the message that mental health matters in the construction industry, reinforcing the importance of having resources and education to help those struggling in high-risk occupations like construction. For more information on our construction initiatives, visit hardhatcourage.com.

“The construction industry is built on strength and resilience, but real strength is also found in vulnerability, connection, and looking out for one another,” said Jaime Franchi, AFSP Long Island Construction Hike for Hope chair. “Through my work with the Long Island Contractors’ Association (LICA) and as a chair for the Construction Hike for Hope, I am proud to help drive a culture shift where mental health is prioritized and people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach out.”

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide, including those who have experienced a loss. AFSP creates a culture that’s smart about mental health through public education and community programs, develops suicide prevention through research and advocacy, and provides support for those affected by suicide. Led by CEO Robert Gebbia and headquartered in New York, with its Policy and Advocacy Office in Washington, D.C., AFSP has local chapters in all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, with programs and events nationwide. Learn more about AFSP in its latest Annual Report and join the conversation on suicide prevention by following AFSP on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTubeLinkedIn and TikTok.

GUIZHOU, China, April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This is a report from Discover Guizhou:

In the heart of central Guizhou, the Guian New Area, an emerging tech hub tied to China’s national development strategy, is undergoing rapid transformation. Data flows at scale while cutting-edge technologies are gaining momentum. Smart and efficient living is becoming the norm. The Guian Encounters series explores this dynamic region, offering a closer look at Guizhou’s journey toward Chinese-style modernization. One such story begins inside a rather extraordinary factory.

Just graduated, with zero rent? Ready to move in with just your luggage? Is there really such a “magical opportunity”?

In 2025, Gui’an New District in Guizhou completed two youth communities—Anchao • Yunlan and Anchao • Xingyao—and innovatively launched a “free housing” policy for talent. Eligible recent college graduates can live rent-free for one year. So far, seven batches of housing units have been successfully released, providing a “home” for over 4,000 young people.

“I had some bad experiences renting before, but here I feel secure. The room is well-decorated and fully furnished, and it’s close to the subway station, which is very convenient.” After graduating, Wu Lei became one of the first residents of the Anchao • Yunlan community. The community offers fully furnished and smart-equipped apartments, with shared amenities such as laundry rooms, gyms, and study rooms all available. The first year of free rent significantly eases the housing pressure on young people.

With a stable place to live, they gain more confidence to pursue their dreams. Now working as a freelance photographer, Wu Lei travels across Guizhou for his work. In his spare time, he actively takes photos for community events, capturing life through his lens.

“As the new district develops, more young talents need to settle here. There has to be someone serving the community, and I thought if I could take on that role, it would make me feel more involved in society.” After moving in, the enthusiastic Tan Shengshun voluntarily took on the role of an apartment manager, assisting with check-ins and providing 24/7 online support. Every bit of trust and gratitude from residents fills him with a sense of fulfillment. For him, this is not only his “home” but also a “big family” where he works and strives. “We’re all young people, so we understand each other better. From small suggestions to organizing events, we can discuss and decide things ourselves, giving us a real sense of ownership.”

The youth community innovatively implementsa “dual-triangle” governance model: an “inner triangle” formed by young people serving as building leaders, apartment managers, and dedicated grid workers, allowing them to manage themselves; and an “outer triangle” consisting of community police officers, medical staff, and comprehensive law enforcement personnel acting as “part-time grid workers,” together with “dedicated grid workers” and the local community “grid leader,” providing strong support. Through internal and external collaboration, governance here is no longer just management but a vibrant, youth-driven co-creation.

“When I first moved here, I wasn’t familiar with Gui’an, but the community organized a ‘Explore Gui’an’ event, which instantly gave me a sense of belonging.” The lively Yan Liting often participates in community activities such as mural painting, coffee salons, and night school training. After living here for over a year, the community has become her social hub, a place for growth, and a warm harbor.”The community mural features my cat. I’ve had hotpot in Building 15, played Werewolf in Building 19, and visited dogs in Building 18…I have friends in every building here, and every day spent with everyone is joyful.”

Centered on the service system of “housing + employment + growth,” the community collaborates with universities in Huaxi University Town, vocational colleges in Qingzhen Vocational Education City, and leading enterprises in the new district. It regularly organizes vocational training, cultural night schools, and other activities, ensuring “weekly courses, monthly events, and quarterly themes,” providing comprehensive resources for young people’s daily lives, studies, and work. Here, young talents not only settle down and make friends but also broaden their horizons, enhance their skills, and grow personally.

From “free housing” meeting basic needs, to the “dual-triangle” model energizing governance, and then to all-round growth support—this “housing package” is filled not only with the warmth of policy but also with the sincerity of the city: an invitation to you, to chase dreams together in Gui’an.

“The Foundation is grateful to our directors for their dedication to advancing our mission to improve health and quality of life through education, research and service consistent with our osteopathic heritage,” said Terri Donlin Huesman, president and CEO of the Foundation. “We are pleased to recognize Dr. deVillers’ years of service, leadership and commitment to osteopathic medicine and community health with the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Rebecca E. deVillers, DO.”

deVillers designed the scholarship with broad criteria so it can support any KCU osteopathic medical student. By keeping the requirements flexible, she hopes the fund will help students facing different challenges or opportunities—reflecting her gratitude for the role osteopathic medicine has played throughout her career and her desire to extend support to future physicians.

“Being an osteopathic physician has been one of the greatest blessings of my life,” deVillers said. “Osteopathic medicine set me on a path that shaped everything that followed.”

Additionally, deVillers personally contributed $25,000 to the scholarship, bringing the total amount to $550,000. “My education at KCU opened every door for me,” she said. “Supporting students ensures those doors remain open for others. If this gift helps even one student focus more on learning and less on financial stress, then it’s worth it.”

KCU President and CEO Marc B. Hahn, DO, praised the Foundation and deVillers for their vision and generosity. Dr. deVillers has devoted her career to caring for others, and service to our country. This scholarship extends that legacy to future osteopathic medical students,” Hahn said. “We are honored by the Foundation’s recognition of her remarkable service and deeply appreciative of the impact this investment will have on generations of KCU‑trained physicians.”

deVillers is a retired board-certified family medicine physician. A 1976 graduate of the KCU College of Osteopathic Medicine, she earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University. She began her career as a naval flight surgeon and retired as a captain in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy in 2006. After military service, she continued her medical training at Doctors Hospital, followed by nearly four decades in private practice in central and southeastern Ohio. Before her recent retirement, she served in physician leadership for OhioHealth’s southeastern Ohio market. Her service also includes leadership roles on the OhioHealth Doctors Hospital medical staff and on state and county developmental disabilities boards. She has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2012.

MIAMI BEACH, FL, April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ – GFL Environmental Inc. (NYSE: GFL) (TSX: GFL) (“GFL” or the “Company”) today announced the closing of the acquisition of Frontier Waste Solutions (“Frontier”), a vertically integrated network of solid waste assets across 24 sites in Texas. The Frontier assets are supported by a fleet of over 650 vehicles and nearly 1,000 employees.

“We have admired watching Frontier grow into a leading regional business under CEO John Gustafson’s leadership,” said Patrick Dovigi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GFL. “John and the other Frontier shareholders have rolled US$100 million of transaction proceeds into GFL shares, a testament to their belief in the future value creation opportunities of the combined businesses. We are excited that John and Frontier’s other senior management will continue to lead the business going forward as both employees and shareholders of GFL.”

Mr. Dovigi added, “The acquisition of Frontier provides a highly complementary set of assets that densifies our footprint and strengthens our presence in the Texas Triangle, one of the fastest growing regions in the United States. The favorable market dynamics in this region combined with deep expertise of the Frontier management team are expected to drive outsized revenue growth over the coming years. The acquisition also enhances our ability to deliver reliable, essential services to the communities that we serve in this market.”

Mr. Dovigi continued, “In addition to the acquisition of Frontier, since the start of the year we have completed seven other tuck-in acquisitions across multiple geographies, further densifying our existing footprint. Together, these acquisitions are expected to contribute $425.0 to $450.0 million in aggregate annualized revenue.”

Mr. Dovigi concluded, “We continue to demonstrate our ability to successfully execute our growth strategy of pursuing strategic and accretive acquisitions. With the transactions closed to date, we are positioned to meaningfully increase our guidance for 2026 when we report our first quarter results later this month. Furthermore, the strength of our balance sheet and our industry leading organic growth allow us to deploy capital into these acquisitions while maintaining our 2026 Net Leverage target of low to mid 3s.”

GFL financed the acquisitions completed year-to-date through its credit facility, cash on hand and the issuance of 2,582,463 subordinate voting shares as partial consideration for the acquisitions.
