SEOUL, South Korea, and WASHINGTON, Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — President Demian Dunkley: “We stand with the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han, the Holy Mother Han” The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification International strongly denounces today’s summons of the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han by South Korea’s Special Prosecutor.

“This is not a neutral investigation. This is persecution,” said President Demian Dunkley. “We stand with the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han, the Holy Mother Han. Her integrity and lifelong sacrifice for humanity shine brighter than any accusation.”

Dr. Han, now in her eighties, is one of the foremost female religious leaders in the world. For decades she has worked to uplift families, reconcile nations, and advance peace across continents. Millions regard her as a spiritual mother. To see her treated as a suspect is, in Dunkley’s words, “an offense to decency, democracy, and the very principle of freedom of religion.”

The prosecution’s case relies heavily on the word of a disgraced former member who was expelled from the movement for misconduct. “How can Korea, a democratic nation, base its accusations on such tainted testimony?” Dunkley asked. “This is not justice. This is the weaponization of law against faith.”

The Family Federation calls on faith leaders, elected officials, and people of conscience around the world not merely to pray but to act — to speak out, write to representatives, rally communities, and demand that Korea uphold the universal right of religious freedom.

“The eyes of the world are watching Korea today,” Dunkley emphasized. “History will remember who stood silently — and who stood up.”

Rev. Demian Dunkley, President Family Federation USA is available for interviews upon request.

AMC secures nearly 29,000 acres of ecologically critical forest in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness

GREENVILLE, Maine, Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), the nation’s oldest outdoor recreation and conservation organization, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the Barnard Forest in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness thanks to a transformative $10 million gift from MathWorks, the leading developer of mathematical computing software. This acquisition secures nearly 29,000 acres of globally significant habitat and marks a major milestone in the Appalachian Mountain Club’s landmark Maine Woods Initiative, which now totals 127,710 acres.

The gift from MathWorks, the second-largest philanthropic contribution in AMC’s history, enabled the organization to finalize its purchase of the Barnard Forest from The Conservation Fund and The Malone Family Land Preservation Foundation years ahead of schedule, accelerating conservation outcomes in one of the most ecologically important landscapes in the eastern United States.

“This gift from MathWorks is more than generous — it’s catalytic,” said Nicole Zussman, President and CEO of AMC. “It enables us to safeguard an irreplaceable landscape, ensuring its health, access, and biodiversity are permanently protected. MathWorks has made a profound investment not just in land, but in climate resilience, community opportunity, and ecological continuity. I’m grateful they shared our vision and accelerated our ability to protect this landscape two years faster than we’d even hoped.”

The Barnard Forest, a nearly 29,000-acre working forest in Piscataquis County, lies within the Pleasant River watershed, home to the last naturally reproducing population of landlocked salmon in Maine. The forest includes more than 70 miles of stream corridors, critical spawning grounds for endangered sea-run Atlantic salmon, extensive spruce-fir flats, and associated wetlands that provide cold-water habitat for native brook trout and landlocked smelt. The land protects an uninterrupted, undeveloped forest from the Appalachian Trail highlands to the main stem of the Pleasant River, a total continuous conserved land of over 750,000 acres, nearly the size of the White Mountain National Forest.

This conservation milestone was made possible through AMC’s strategic partnership with The Conservation Fund. In 2023, The Conservation Fund and The Malone Family Land Preservation Foundation jointly acquired the southern portion of the Barnard property, giving AMC the time needed to raise funds for its permanent protection. The Conservation Fund’s share was purchased through its Working Forest Fund, with support from the Richard King Mellon Foundation. Today’s announcement brings together the shared vision of multiple partners focused on conservation to permanently protect the property well ahead of schedule.

“This is precisely the type of meaningful, high-impact work The Conservation Fund was created to tackle,” said Tom Duffus, the Fund’s vice president and northeast representative based in Freeport. “Through swift and strategic action, we collaborated to successfully protect this vital place to create lasting benefits for the great state of Maine, local residents, and this region’s many visitors.”

Under the Appalachian Mountain Club’s stewardship, the Barnard Forest will support restoration forestry, habitat connectivity, and climate adaptation. The property will be managed to Forest Stewardship Council standards, with plans to rebuild older forest conditions and expand carbon stocking, which is an integral part of the organization’s broader climate strategy. The forest also contributes to rural economic growth by helping support more than 50 forestry- and recreation-related jobs and reinforcing the AMC’s $8.39 million annual economic impact in the region. The property will remain on the tax rolls of Piscataquis County.

Barnard represents a true convergence of conservation opportunity, ecological importance, and public benefit,” added Steve Tatko, Vice President of Land and Conservation for the Appalachian Mountain Club. “This land was closed to the public for nearly 20 years. Thanks to MathWorks, The Conservation Fund, and countless donors and partners, it will now remain open to future generations for fishing, hunting, recreation, and cultural use, including tribal access. AMC is proud to live its values in a forest like this in service of ecology and people, for the benefit of both.”

Initial funding for this project came from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, the EJK Foundation, and other lead individuals and foundations. AMC’s three-year campaign to protect and reopen Barnard Forest resulted in nearly $24 million in gifts, grants, and program-related investments to support the acquisition, perpetual stewardship, and capital necessary to re-establish public access to Barnard Forest. MathWorks completed the purchase of the Barnard Forest with a transformative $10 million donation, part of its commitment to sustainability and science-based climate solutions.

“At MathWorks, we believe in solutions that scale, endure, and benefit both people and the planet,” said MathWorks SVP and CFO Jeanne O’Keefe. “Supporting the permanent protection of Barnard Forest reflects this commitment. We’re proud to help accelerate the Appalachian Mountain Club’s work in the Maine Woods and protect this extraordinary landscape for future generations.”

The Barnard Forest acquisition is part of AMC’s Maine Woods Initiative, the largest multi-use conservation and recreation project in the eastern United States. With this addition, the initiative now encompasses nearly 130,000 contiguous acres — an area nearly three times the size of Acadia National Park.

Since its founding in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club has led major conservation milestones, including advocacy for the creation of the White Mountain National Forest. Under Nicole Zussman’s leadership, the organization is building a bold new legacy, one rooted in science, scaled through partnership, and focused on lasting impact for the land and the people who depend on it.

‘Stranger Things’ Star Noah Schnapp Joins the California Milk Processor Board to Pay Tribute to a Pop Culture Phenomenon and Celebrate a Reimagined Legacy

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Thirty years after the Got Milk mustache became a cultural phenomenon, the California Milk Processor Board (CMPB) is rewriting history. For the first time ever, the iconic mustache will feature not celebrities, but everyday Californians — the teachers, small-business owners, athletes, and artists who keep the state moving.

To mark this milestone, Got Milk teamed up with actor and entrepreneur Noah Schnapp (‘Stranger Things’) to headline the Milk Mustache 30th Anniversary: Real California Icons celebration in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Schnapp was joined by an engaging roster of talent, creators and everyday innovators driving culture forward who share the campaign’s spirit of authenticity and community.

“30 years ago the milk mustache became a cultural icon, turning everyday milk into a symbol of strength, style, and staying power,” said Steve James, Executive Director, California Milk Processing Board. “From athletes to actors, the campaign redefined cool and made milk unforgettable for generations. We’re not bringing back the old campaign — we’re reinventing it.  True influence today isn’t about fame. It’s about authenticity, diversity, and community pride. That’s what the reimagined Milk Mustache campaign represents.”

GOT MILK PHOTO STUDIO TOUR: A LIVING PORTRAIT OF CALIFORNIA

This summer, to celebrate 30 years of the Milk Mustache, Got Milk hit the road to capture fresh milk mustache moments up and down California. From hometown heroes to familiar faces, the tour brought the legacy to life, one iconic photo at a time. The ‘Got Milk Photo Studio Tour’ transformed streets, parks, and plazas from San Diego to Sacramento into pop-up photo studios, where anyone could step into the spotlight with their very own milk mustache – and be the stars.

  • More than 12,000 portraits captured statewide
  • More than 1,000 posters printed and delivered directly to participants
  • A campaign that now lives inside homes — framed and hung by Californians themselves

From Annie Leibovitz to Aldo Chacón: for this anniversary, the creators of Got Milk turned to a new voice behind the lens. Chacón, a young Mexican American photographer, was chosen for his ability to reflect the authenticity, diversity, and pride that define California today. His portraits capture real people with striking intimacy — turning everyday Californians into timeless cultural icons.

FROM TOUR TO GALLERY TO BILLBOARDS

At the Los Angeles event celebrating the anniversary, Schnapp helped unveil a gallery exhibition featuring portraits from the ‘Got Milk Photo Studio Tour’. These same portraits are now debuted across billboards and digital platforms statewide, marking the first time in Got Milk’s history the mustache campaign features only consumers — no celebrities.

Adding to the excitement, the celebration welcomed entertainment notables whose presence connects the milk mustache campaign’s legacy as pop culture’s first influencer movement to a future where social media empowers everyone to be influential: Noah’s ‘Stranger Things’ co-star Priah Ferguson, best known for her role as Erica Sinclair; Latina actress Keyla Monterroso Mejia, star of the multi-Emmy nominated series ‘The Studio’; Jesse Williams, star of Amazon Prime’s ‘Hotel Costiera’ and alum of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’; and Nick Barrotta, known for his role on ‘Tyler Perry’s The Oval’. Their attendance underscores how the campaign continues to resonate at the center of entertainment and cultural relevance.

Guests enjoyed an immersive art installation, including the traveling photo studio, live music, milk-inspired mocktails and cocktails, and California food tastings.

NOAH SCHNAPP: A VOICE FOR HIS GENERATION

During the celebration, Schnapp delivered special remarks tying the legacy of the milk mustache to its reimagined future. “Influence today is about the people who shape our everyday lives,” Schnapp said in prepared remarks. “That’s what this campaign is all about: real Californians. Real icons.” Schnapp also highlighted the significance of the portraits: “Walking through the gallery tonight and seeing these portraits — it’s powerful. Each one tells a story. Each one represents pride, resilience, and the culture that makes California what it is today.”

The ‘Got Milk Photo Studio Tour’ 30 years anniversary campaign is the brainchild of creative agency GALLEGOS United, along with its sister agencies ROX United and CANVAS United, agencies within the UNITED COLLECTIVE creative communications group. Rooted in authenticity, diversity, and community pride, the campaign redefines what influence looks like today — turning locals into icons and making everyone the new face of milk.

“As an agency, we’re focused on creative solutions to help drive growth for our clients,” shared John Gallegos, Founder and CEO, GALLEGOS United. “For Got Milk, this has involved a multi-year approach to modernize their marketing efforts, reaching increasingly diverse audiences in authentic and impactful ways. As a campaign that’s marrying modern social, influencer, and PR-driven tactics celebrating diverse Californians from around the state as the “stars”, our 30th Anniversary of the Milk Mustache campaign is a perfect example of how Got Milk has evolved to meet a younger, more diverse generation.”

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As the U.S. navigates the evolving, clean, renewable energy landscape, a new collaboration between IAC and The Price Companies (TPC) offers a timely and scalable solution: sustainable biomass. Together, these two companies are aligning North American leadership in biomass sourcing and thermal processing to deliver reliable, cost- effective renewable energy alternatives for today’s most energy-intensive industries.

Our goal is to develop a “Sustainable Biomass Feed Stock to Create the Energy to Power Tomorrow’s Future Business,” said Glenn A. Smith, Jr. IAC Founder & CEO. “This collaboration delivers scalable, affordable, and renewable energy options for industries seeking reliability, performance, and environmental stewardship.”

Unlike solar and wind, which can be costly and inconsistent in operation, responsibly harvested biomass derived from abundant wood and agricultural materials presents a powerful and practical option. It’s ideally suited for high-performance energy consumers such as data centers, manufacturers, and ESG-focused operators looking to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising productivity.

TPC, with 43 locations, brings industry-leading sourcing and logistics capabilities to the table. The Price Companies is capable of processing over 30 million tons per year of wood chip materials. Which ensures a stable, long-term feedstock pipeline which is critical for dependable and scalable biomass energy production.

IAC contributes large scale EPC capabilities and reputation to provide engineering, IAC OEM equipment supply and expertise, and process equipment to transform that feedstock into valuable renewable energy. At the core is IAC’s patent-pending indirect arrayed Drop Tube Calciner (DTC), a groundbreaking system that enables 10-to-1 scalability over traditional rotary calcination technologies. A single facility built by IAC as an EPC Contractor using this system can achieve:

  • Torrefied wood production: 100 tons per hour
  • Biochar production: 50 tons per hour
  • High-quality bioproducts include heat and syngas for energy generation or co- generation applications.

IAC also brings a full product line of OEM technologies and support systems designed to ensure performance, efficiency, and rapid deployment:

  • Syngas / Biogas Gas cleanup technology
  • Baghouses and dust collection systems for clean air compliance
  • Wet Electrostatic Precipitators (Wet ESPs) for fine particulate and acid mist control
  • Bulk material handling systems including conveyors, silos, and hoppers
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and process automation for precision control and reliability
  • Drying, grinding, classification systems, and calciners engineered for biomass processing
  • Fast-track integrated cooperate capabilities are utilized to accelerate site construction, meet delivery commitments, and commission on time.

Together, IAC and TPC offer the biomass industry a turnkey EPC model from raw material sourcing to facility design and delivery. The result: unparalleled efficiency, lower CAPEX/OPEX, and a renewable biomass solution ready to scale with industrial demand.

Jack Carmical the Director of New Business Development for TPC stated, “We are excited to collaborate with IAC, as successful sustainable projects rely on large-scale, cost-effective technology.”

To assist with implementing these opportunities, IAC has chosen to work with the engineering firm PPS Services Group, known for its proven expertise in designing power plants specializing in biomass, wood, and alternative fuels, with over 40 plants completed.

“These biomass-based renewable products aren’t just a bridge to the future, they are the future,” said Michael Jones, IAC’s Chief Technology Officer. “Whether powering hyperscale data centers, replacing coal in industrial furnaces, or enabling green steel production, this collaboration delivers a scalable, sustainable energy path forward.”
