Vote For Your Favorite Bear Beginning September 23, 2025

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The bears are back and they are bigger than ever! Fat Bear Week returns for the 11th year September 23-30, 2025, inviting the public to vote for the bear that best embodies preparation for winter. Hosted by explore.org, the world’s leading live nature camera network, and the Katmai Conservancy, this beloved global event celebrates the lives of brown bears in Alaska’s Katmai National Park.

Fat Bear Week is a bracket-style, single-elimination tournament, where the public votes online to determine which bear has gained the most weight after a summer of salmon feasting. Matchups continue until one bear is crowned the 2025 Champion on Tuesday, September 30. The bracket reveal takes place Monday, September 22 at 3pm AKT.

Fat Bear Week began in 2014 with just 1,700 votes and has grown into an international sensation, with over 1.2 million votes cast in 2024 from more than 100 countries.

“Chunk’s resilience, Grazer’s skill, and Bucky’s intelligence were just a few of the powerful stories we witnessed at Brooks River this summer,” says Charlie Annenberg, founder of Explore.org. “Thanks to another great salmon run, the bears are the fattest I’ve ever seen!”

Reigning champion 128 Grazer, the first mother bear to win Fat Bear Week, returns in 2025 while raising a yearling cub. She’s joined by contenders like 32 Chunk, who overcame a broken jaw this spring and remains one of the largest bears on the river.

Voters can explore profiles and compare before-and-after photos on the Fat Bear Week website. Educational live streams with park rangers and experts offer insights throughout the week, and social media buzzes with updates under #FatBearWeek.

The action starts with Fat Bear Junior, a two-day competition for cubs. The bracket reveal is on Wednesday, September 17 at 3pm AKT, with voting on September 18 & 19.

Support conservation efforts by donating to the Katmai Conservancy’s Otis Fund, with explore.org matching contributions from September 23 – October 4 and the Fat Bear Week Celebration Fundraiser on October 4 at 12pm AKT.

Fat Bear Week is a celebration of strength, survival, and the wild spirit of Alaska’s Katmai National Park, a region that is home to more brown bears than people and the largest runs of sockeye salmon left on the planet.

New fuel cell engineered to power city transit buses – lower cost, simplified vehicle integration, smarter fleet services, and enhanced safety

VANCOUVER, BC, Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ – Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP) (TSX: BLDP) will unveil its new-generation transit fuel cell module, the FCmove®-SC, at Busworld in Brussels on 4–9 October 2025. Designed for city transit duty, the FCmove®-SC builds on Ballard’s market-leading FCmove family to deliver greater sustained power, simplified vehicle integration, improved in-service performance and lower lifecycle cost as part of Ballard’s roadmap toward diesel parity.

“The FCmove®-SC is the latest product on Ballard’s new core product platform which anchors broader advances targeting the industry’s core challenge: narrowing the gap in cost of ownership parity with legacy diesel systems,” said Kevin Colbow, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Ballard. “The fuel cell design significantly reduces integration complexity for bus manufacturers while improving life-time cost and performance for transit operators.”

The FCmove®-SC offers several enhancements for bus manufacturers and operators:

  • 30% increase in system power (end-of-life) with improved durability, operating and freeze-start temperatures and higher power density.
  • 25% increase in volumetric power density through integrated DC/DC packaging.
  • 25% higher maximum radiator outlet temperature (60°C → 75°C), simplifying vehicle thermal management.
  • 40% reduction in total part count.

Lower lifecycle cost, better performance
The FCmove®-SC targets a peak power capability of at least 75 kW, optimized for consistent in-service output and higher thermal margins for improved efficiency. These attributes support smaller cooling requirements and provide more usable waste heat for cabin heating — all intended to reduce operating cost and enable competitive total cost of ownership versus legacy diesel systems. Efficient subsystems support an expected service life of approximately 25,000 operating hours under standard transit duty cycles.

Simpler integration
By internalizing the DC/DC converter and power controller, the FCmove®-SC consolidates functionality into a smaller, more serviceable package. Fewer external interfaces and routable parts simplify powertrain integration and reduce diagnostics and preventive maintenance requirements.

Intelligent services
Ballard is upgrading its fleet services to pair the FCmove®-SC with predictive maintenance and analytics. Onboard communications and Ballard’s FCServiceCloud Customer Insight portal enables preventive and predictive maintenance workflows, helping operators maximize uptime and lower lifecycle support costs.

Enhanced safety
Enhanced safety is central to the FCmove®-SC architecture which introduces industry-leading safety features. The PEM stack enclosure incorporates a new internal geometry that inhibits hydrogen-related risks. This passive safety measure reduces dependence on conventional active safety features such as sensors and software controls.

Proven field performance
The new FCmove®-SC draws on Ballard’s extensive on-road experience. In Europe, Ballard has deployed more than 850 vehicles across cities on the continent. Ballard’s FCmove®-HD module has been produced, scaled, and successfully operated over nearly a hundred million service kilometers. This market-leading operational base has informed FCmove®-SC’s new design, architecture, and component subsystems resulting in lower total cost of ownership for transit operators.

“Our focus is to deliver practical, measurable steps that move fuel cell buses closer to diesel parity,” said David Mucciacciaro, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re benefitting from the most operational experience in the bus segment and on insights from our long-standing customers, to deliver a solution that simplifies vehicle integration, reduces operating and maintenance costs – backed by services that keep fleets reliably on the road.”

Ballard will exhibit the FCmove®-SC and other transit solutions in Hall 9, Stand 579 at Busworld at the Brussels Expo, 4–9 October. Demonstrations are by invitation; transit operators and OEMs interested in scheduling should contact Ballard’s marketing team.

The project brings local employment opportunities and partnerships while helping the Treasure Coast move toward fuel independence

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla., Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Nopetro Energy, a vertically-integrated turnkey producer, distributor and operator of energy solutions across North America, celebrated today the grand opening of southern Florida’s first landfill gas (LFG) to renewable natural gas (RNG) production facility in Vero Beach.

RNG, a biogas and the lowest-carbon alternative fuel, is being produced by capturing and removing methane gas from the Indian River County landfill. The captured biogas undergoes a purification process and is then injected into Florida City Gas’ existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure and will reach customers from South Vero Corridor all the way to Indian River Shores. RNG is fully interchangeable with conventional natural gas and can be seamlessly distributed to customers, creating domestic, affordable and cleaner fuel for buses and trucks while creating cleaner air for the community.

“Opening this facility is a major step, not just for Nopetro’s growing natural gas production and distribution network, but for Indian River County,” said Jorge Herrera, CEO of Nopetro Energy. “We believe in building facilities that support and give back to the cities where they stand. This Vero Beach RNG facility is a catalyst for continued growth, resilience and energy independence, creating opportunities for families and businesses across the Treasure Coast.”

In just the first few weeks of operation, the new facility has removed CO2 to purify the biogas to over 95% methane, exceeding the 90% standard for fueling local homes, vehicles and businesses with RNG. The facility’s construction period and ongoing production have also created jobs and vendor opportunities for area contractors, maintenance providers and local businesses.

“This partnership highlights the value of working with the private sector to bring innovation and investment to Indian River County. It’s a responsible use of resources that supports local families, strengthens our economy and ensures access to dependable energy,” said Indian River County Commission Chairman Joseph Flescher.

The Vero Beach facility was constructed in partnership with engineering, procurement and construction services firm Mead & Hunt, who have previous experience in the field.

In addition to its production arm, Nopetro operates 13 renewable gas fueling facilities across Florida and is actively expanding nationally. RNG is compressed into CNG and used to fuel transit and fleet operations; for example, Nopetro currently fuels the entire transit system in Central Florida via a partnership with the Central Florida Transit Authority. All Nopetro’s natural gas feedstock is produced via renewable sources, including landfills and wastewater treatment plants.

ABOUT NOPETRO ENERGY

Founded in 2008, Nopetro Energy is a vertically integrated energy leader focused on the production and distribution of renewable natural gas (RNG) for heavy duty transportation and industrial consumption. We provide end-to-end energy and transportation management solutions, helping government agencies and companies strengthen fuel independence and create lasting economic value. FORT COLLINS, Colo., Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Voodoo Ranger, America’s #1 IPA, is hitting the road with a massive 21-foot tanker of Juice Force IPA on a rangerous four-state tour. From California to Texas, fans lucky enough to spot the rolling tallboy can help empty it one Juice Force at a time.

Kicking off tailgate season, the Voodoo Ranger Juice Force Tanker is making pit stops at major football games, festivals, and concert venues across the Southwest. Of the top five IPA brands in the U.S., only two are experiencing growth, and both are from Voodoo Ranger: Juice Force IPA and Imperial IPA. The brand now commands more than a third of craft beer singles sold in convenience stores, fueled by five consecutive years of double-digit growth. In real time, every 1.3 seconds, someone in the U.S. cracks open a Voodoo Ranger. When it comes to the beer aisle, no craft brand shows up or stands out like Voodoo does.

“Juice Force is a rocket ship within our portfolio right now, and the Tanker is the perfect way to give it the attention it deserves,” said Michelle Robertson, Senior Brand Manager at Voodoo Ranger. “The Juice Force Tanker Tour turns crushing beers with friends into a larger-than-life experience. Whether it’s a bar crawl, the tailgate before a game, or just catching sight of a tanker-sized tallboy barreling down the highway, it’s about serving up the wild antics Juice Force was made for.”

The tour includes stadiums, festivals, and tailgates across California, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. Key market dates are listed below and check out emptythetanker.com for the full list of events.

  • Los Angeles: 9/17-9/21
  • Front Range (Colorado): 9/24-9/30
  • Dallas/Fort Worth: 10/3-10/6
  • Austin: 10/9-10/12
  • Phoenix: 10/15-10/18

Fans can follow along at emptythetanker.com and Voodoo Ranger’s Instagram channel to see where the tallboy rolls up next. Must be 21+ to purchase. Live rangerously, not recklessly. Never drink and drive.”

NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — J.Crew unveils a new campaign spotlighting its iconic Rollneck™ sweater. Originally designed in 1988 and celebrated as a timeless staple for nearly 40 years, the Rollneck sweater’s nostalgia is reimagined by a dynamic group of next-generation talent across film, TV, and music, each selected for their distinctly personal takes on American style.

The campaign brings together a vibrant mix of American talent capturing the playful, optimistic energy of a new generation through a nostalgic lens. Featuring Benito Skinner, Dominic Sessa, Lukita Maxwell, Maggie Rogers, Molly Gordon, Rome Flynn and Taylour Paige-Angulo, the cast embodies today’s creative and pop-culture landscape.

“The Rollneck is an icon of our brand: it’s a timeless piece that represents classic American style, but is diverse enough to be worn and styled in so many different ways” said Julia Collier, Chief Marketing Officer, J.Crew. “We wanted to celebrate that through this cast of characters who individually represent the many facets of our heritage: classic, prep, country, collegiate, and are redefining what those things mean to a new generation of Americans.”

The Rollneck is one of J.Crew’s most enduring signatures; a piece that stands for both ease and elegance. Knit from 100% cotton with a distinctive rolled neckline and relaxed fit, the sweater has been a staple in wardrobes for decades: the kind of style you reach for year after year, season after season. This Fall, the icon returns with 27 colors and patterns available in men’s, women’s, and crewcuts fits– plus accessories and more!

Classic American style is more relevant than ever, and J.Crew continues to define the conversation in a way that feels familiar and refreshingly new. Bringing this to life this Fall through sophisticated collections, compelling partnerships, and immersive experiences, J.Crew’s distinctive point of view shapes not only how people get dressed, but an inspired lifestyle. Balancing aspiration with accessibility, the brand has built its legacy on timeless pieces that resonate across generations. This campaign is the purest expression of that spirit: iconic design reimagined for today, worn by a cast of talent whose individuality and creativity mirror the brand’s own.
