BEIJING, Oct. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — JA Solar, a trusted global partner in green energy, and Australian solar innovator 5B have signed a landmark module supply agreement during the All Energy Australia 2025 exhibition. The agreement covers more than 100 MW of JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for a large-scale solar project in Western Australia, marking the largest collaboration to date between the two companies.

Built on years of close technical cooperation, this agreement combines the complementary strengths of JA Solar and 5B to deliver greater value for PV developers. JA Solar’s high-efficiency modules, renowned for their reliability, have been rigorously tested and optimized for seamless integration with 5B’s Maverick system. The Maverick is a prefabricated, re-deployable solar array designed so that solar farms can be built faster, safer, and at lower cost.

Certified to withstand wind speeds of up to 93 meters per second, the Maverick system provides exceptional durability in extreme weather, a timely advantage as Australia enters its peak storm season. When paired with JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules, the combined solution enables fast-track installation, reduced balance-of-system costs, and consistent energy output. This synergy results in shorter project timelines, lower operational risks, and stronger returns for customers operating in challenging environments.

The signing ceremony brought together senior leaders from both companies, including Daniel Li (VP, East Asia & South Pacific, JA Solar) and David Griffin (CEO of 5B), alongside key regional and technical heads. Their presence highlighted the strategic depth of the partnership and the alignment across commercial, engineering, and market development teams.

“This agreement is more than a supply contract, it is a blueprint for how global technology and local ingenuity can come together to deliver real-world impact,” said Daniel Li. “By combining JA Solar’s proven module performance with 5B’s advanced deployment technology, we are empowering customers with solutions that are bankable, scalable, and built for Australia’s unique conditions.”

The partnership between JA Solar and 5B reflects a shared vision of accelerating the transition to renewable energy through technical excellence, operational synergy, and deep local collaboration, delivering greater value for the customers who are building the future.

HOBOKEN, N.J., Oct. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As the government shutdown threatens to suspend SNAP (food stamp) benefits on November 1, Computers 4 People, a national nonprofit dedicated to closing the digital divide, is launching an emergency relief campaign through its internet service brand, Shield Internet.

Starting today, SNAP recipients across the United States can get at least one month of free 5G internet by visiting www.computers4people.org/shield, entering the coupon code SNAP, and uploading a photo of their SNAP card.

Over 40 million Americans rely on SNAP benefits each month, nearly the same number of people who still lack access to reliable home internet. For millions of families, that means facing a devastating choice between paying for groceries or staying connected to critical news, healthcare, school, and work.

Founded in 2019 by Dylan Zajac at just 15 years old, Computers 4 People began with a simple mission: to make sure everyone has the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of income or access to technology. What started as one teenager refurbishing computers in his bedroom has now grown into a national movement to ensure no one is left offline.

“From conversations with our hundreds of partners, we know internet access isn’t optional anymore,” said Barbara Pinto, Head of Partnerships at Computers 4 People. “When people can’t reach their healthcare portals, bank accounts, or job applications, they’re shut out of daily life.”

The initiative is powered by Mission Telecom, a nonprofit telecommunications provider ensuring high-speed 5G coverage nationwide.

“Access to affordable, reliable internet is essential for families to work, learn, and connect to opportunity,” said Mark Colwell, Director of Broadband Operations at Mission Telecom. “We are proud to partner with Computers 4 People to remove financial barriers when families are most vulnerable, so more households can stay connected at this critical time.”

How It Works

  1. Visit www.computers4people.org/shield

  2. Choose a monthly internet plan
  3. Enter coupon code: SNAP

  4. Upload a photo of your SNAP proof (we’ll verify via email or text)
  5. Receive one month of free internet

Even if you don’t receive SNAP benefits, but need access to affordable internet for education or work, you may still qualify for the Shield Internet low-cost plan at $14.89/month.

About Computers 4 People

Computers 4 People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that refurbishes and donates computers while providing affordable internet access to families in need. The organization has donated over 5,000 computers and connected thousands of households to opportunity across New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts, and is now expanding its mission nationwide through Shield Internet.

C4P has been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30, and honored by the Aspen Institute for leadership in digital equity.

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In an effort to support the safe, widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and associated infrastructure across the nation, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) released today the October 2025 Gaps Progress Report. This vital document reflects efforts by standards developing organizations (SDOs) and other stakeholders to address the gaps identified in the Roadmap of Standards and Codes for Electric Vehicles at Scale, published in 2023 by the ANSI Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP). The progress report provides updates on standards, research, and conformity assessment activities against 31 previously identified gaps. It also captures suggested modifications to existing gaps, such as prioritization and scoping, and identifies 21 additional gaps to be considered for future roadmaps.

The June 2023 roadmap identified 37 standardization gaps and corresponding recommendations across the areas of vehicle systems, charging infrastructure, grid integration, and cybersecurity. Of the 37 gaps, 14 were identified as high priority, 20 as medium priority, and three as low priority. In 23 cases, additional pre-standardization research and development activities were identified as needed. Representatives from 130 public- and private-sector organizations supported the roadmap’s development, including U.S. federal government agencies and national laboratories, SDOs, industry, academia, and others.

The gaps report is not a consensus document, but rather is intended to serve as a “living document” that will be maintained and periodically re-published as standards development work continues or until the EVSP undertakes a next version of its roadmap.

The ANSI EVSP is a cross-sector coordinating body whose objective is to foster coordination and collaboration on standardization matters among public- and private-sector stakeholders to enable the safe, mass deployment of EVs and associated infrastructure in the United States with international coordination, adaptability, and engagement. It does not itself develop standards.

The next gaps progress report is expected to be issued in spring 2026. To receive future updates, suggest edits to the report, or to get involved in EVSP activities, email evsp@ansi.org. For more information, visit www.ansi.org/evsp.

About ANSI

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance both the global competitiveness of U.S. business and the U.S. quality of life by promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems, and safeguarding their integrity. Its membership is comprised of businesses, professional societies and trade associations, standards developers, government agencies, and consumer and labor organizations.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A short consumer alert video, produced by Consumer Watchdog and narrated by Eaton fire survivor Ellen Snortland, warns Eaton fire survivors that the company’s new “Fast Pay” program to pay survivors may not equal “fair pay.”

“Edison’s ‘Fast Pay’ program may not be fair,” warns Snortland, a Consumer Watchdog board member and the LA Press Club’s Best Columnist and Journalist of the Year for two years in a row. “It is designed to appeal to people who need money quick, and may not realize they are giving up their right to seek many times more than they are offered.”

The video warns:

“If you are an Eaton Fire Survivor you should consider these facts when considering the ‘Fast Pay’ system and consult a lawyer:

The amounts offered by Edison are non-negotiable. Edison determines the amount unilaterally.

Expert estimates show the amount owed fire survivors based on Edison’s proposed formula can be only 53 -73% of the actual rebuilding cost for the building.

Edison automatically subtracts the value of your insurance policy payment, even though most people are not getting what they’re owed from insurance and even if you haven’t received it.

The plan says renters, children, and those who suffered smoke damage deserve less.”

The Edison plan was designed by Ken Feinberg, a controversial mediator who has been accused in multiple settlements of providing pennies on the dollar offers to victims in disaster funds. Edison has not disclosed how much it is paying Feinberg.

The legislature created a Wildfire Fund to backstop utilities when they spark fires, half of the fund is paid for by ratepayers and half is paid by utilities shareholders. Edison has announced its “Fast Pay” Program that draws from this wildfire fund.

Snortland concludes: “Don’t be burned twice. Talk to an attorney and beware of Edison’s Fast Fund. Fast pay doesn’t mean fair pay. Get the facts at ConsumerWatchdog.org/fastpay
