Partnership intended to establish a Texas-based manufacturing pathway for pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine as TIRC advances its planned U.S. development program

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Texas Ibogaine Research Corporation (“TIRC”), the wholly-owned Texas subsidiary of Psyence BioMed, enters manufacturing partnership with Benuvia Operations, LLC for the planned U.S. manufacture of pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine active pharmaceutical ingredient (“API”)
  • Benuvia operates an 83,000-square-foot, DEA-registered controlled-substance manufacturing facility in Round Rock, Texas, with capabilities spanning development through commercial-scale production
  • Partnership is intended to connect TIRC’s planned exclusive U.S. access to PsyLabs’ pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine under TIRC’s previously announced binding term sheet with PsyLabs, with U.S.-based controlled-substance manufacturing capabilities
  • The partnership represents another step in Psyence BioMed’s strategy to build an integrated U.S. supply, manufacturing and regulatory development platform for ibogaine through TIRC

NEW YORK, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Psyence Biomedical Ltd. (Nasdaq: PBM) (“Psyence BioMed” or the “Company”) today announced that its wholly-owned Texas subsidiary, Texas Ibogaine Research Corporation (“TIRC”), has entered into a manufacturing services agreement with Benuvia Operations, LLC (“Benuvia”) of Round Rock, Texas, establishing a manufacturing partnership for the planned U.S. manufacture of pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine active pharmaceutical ingredient (“API”) under current Good Manufacturing Practice (“cGMP”) standards.

The manufacturing partnership builds upon TIRC’s previously announced binding term sheet with Psyence Labs Ltd. (“PsyLabs”), a significant shareholder of Psyence BioMed and in which Psyence BioMed holds an ownership interest, for an exclusive U.S. license, supply and wholesale distribution arrangement covering PsyLabs’ pharmaceutical-grade ibogaine. The term sheet is to be superseded by a definitive agreement, which the parties have agreed to conclude on or before November 30, 2026. PsyLabs’ material is supported by a regulatory-readiness package that includes GMP-compliant production, an Investigator’s Brochure and certificates of analysis.

Benuvia operates an approximately 83,000-square-foot pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Round Rock, Texas, registered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”), with capabilities spanning controlled-substance API development and manufacturing, analytical development, stability programs and regulatory support. According to Benuvia, it currently holds approximately half of the U.S. aggregate production quota for ibogaine, providing an established foundation for potential domestic production. Applications for the import permit and procurement quota required for the planned production are being advanced with the DEA by Benuvia. Because Benuvia’s commercial-scale manufacturing infrastructure is already in place, the Company believes that the timing and scale of any U.S. ibogaine production will be governed primarily by applicable DEA quotas, controlled-substance import requirements and other regulatory authorizations.

“Benuvia brings a DEA-registered U.S. facility with the quota, systems and track record required to manufacture controlled substances to pharmaceutical standards,” said Jody Aufrichtig, Chief Executive Officer of Psyence BioMed and TIRC. “Combined with our planned licensed supply, we believe this has the potential to create an end-to-end pathway from pharmaceutical-grade source material through U.S.-based manufacturing.”

“Benuvia brings more than 10 years of experience in the development and commercial manufacturing of DEA Schedule I–V controlled substances to rigorous pharmaceutical standards,” said Terry Novak, Chief Executive Officer of Benuvia. “Our Round Rock facility was purpose-built for controlled-substance manufacturing and provides the infrastructure, regulatory capabilities, and commercial-scale capacity required for complex programs like ibogaine. While ibogaine has been discussed for decades, pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing capacity in the United States has remained extremely limited. Through our partnership with TIRC and Psyence BioMed, we believe we have an opportunity to change that — manufacturing ibogaine in America, to exacting specifications and at the scale this program will require if and as DEA quota expands. We have the experience, the facility, and the team in place. We are ready to begin.”

“For a regulated ibogaine development program, manufacturing is inseparable from the regulatory strategy,” said Dr. John Thorne, Project Lead, TIRC. “Establishing a U.S.-based manufacturing pathway is intended to strengthen chain-of-custody controls, batch consistency and the chemistry, manufacturing and controls work required to support future regulatory submissions. We believe Benuvia’s capabilities give us an experienced U.S. manufacturing platform on which to build that work.”

Psyence BioMed views this manufacturing partnership as more than a manufacturing milestone; it is part of a broader effort to advance the clinical and regulatory work required to develop potential ibogaine-based therapies for patients facing significant unmet needs, including opioid use disorder, other substance use disorders and mental health conditions affecting veterans.

The Company believes that the combination of pharmaceutical-grade supply at source and Texas-based cGMP manufacturing would position TIRC to support regulated research and clinical programs if and when applicable quotas are expanded. If compliant U.S. production capacity is established, the Company believes it would be better positioned to support the research and clinical development programs that could ultimately underpin future regulatory approvals and patient access.

Alector grants Genentech exclusive rights to develop and commercialize AL050, an investigational GCase Enzyme Replacement Therapy (ERT) enabled by Alector Brain Carrier (ABC), Alector’s proprietary blood-brain barrier delivery platform

Alector to receive $100 million upfront payment, with potential for up to $1.17 billion in additional milestone payments, as well as tiered royalties on net sales

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Alector, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALEC), a biotechnology company focused on developing therapies to counteract the devastating progression of neurodegeneration, today announced it has entered into an exclusive global licensing agreement with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, granting Genentech worldwide rights to develop and commercialize Alector’s AL050 program, its brain-penetrant engineered glucocerebrosidase (GCase) ERT.

AL050 is designed to address GCase deficiency, a driver of neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s Disease that is most pronounced in – but not limited to – carriers of GBA1 mutations. It combines an Alector-engineered GCase, optimized for greater enzymatic activity and a longer half-life, with Alector’s ABC, which is designed to transport therapeutics across the blood-brain barrier. Delivered into the brain, the enzyme is intended to break down glucosylsphingosine and glucosylceramide, lipids that accumulate in neurons and other brain cells upon GCase deficiency and contribute to neurodegeneration, with the aim of reducing cellular dysfunction and slowing disease progression.

“Deficient GCase activity is increasingly recognized as a contributor to Parkinson’s Disease, and there is still no approved therapy that addresses the underlying enzyme deficiency,” said Arnon Rosenthal, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Alector. “The challenge in treating GCase deficiency is twofold: engineering an enzyme with optimal activity and durability and successfully delivering it to the brain. AL050 addresses this by pairing an engineered GCase enzyme with our proprietary Alector Brain Carrier technology designed to cross the blood-brain barrier. Genentech’s long-standing commitment to Parkinson’s Disease makes them an ideal partner as this program moves toward the clinic”.

“Parkinson’s Disease is one of the fastest-growing neurological conditions worldwide,” said Boris L. Zaïtra, Head of Roche Corporate Business Development. “By partnering with companies such as Alector we aim to delay or halt the progression of Parkinson’s so patients maintain and prolong their independence.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Alector will receive an upfront payment of $100 million and is also eligible to receive additional payments of up to $1.17 billion upon the achievement of development, regulatory, and commercial milestones. Alector is also eligible for tiered royalties on net sales. Under the collaboration, Genentech will be responsible for development, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercialization across all indications.  Alector retains ownership of ABC and full rights to apply the platform across its wholly owned pipeline.

“This partnership extends our cash runway into 2029, providing resources to advance our fully active, subcutaneously delivered, brain-enabled anti-Aβ antibody to multi-cohort clinical data in Alzheimer’s patients, and move our subcutaneously delivered, brain-enabled Tau siRNA and alpha- synuclein siRNA programs through IND-enabling studies and to IND filings,” said Dr. Rosenthal.

Alector R&D Webinar on Wholly Owned Pipeline

Alector will host a scientific webinar on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT, focused on AL137, its brain-enabled anti-Aβ antibody; AL164, its tau siRNA program; and AL062, its alpha-synuclein siRNA program. Registration and webcast information will be available on the Events and Presentations page of the Alector corporate website.

DV helps advertisers measure the impact of advertising in ChatGPT across the customer journey while developing brand risk and suitability pilots for conversational advertising

NEW YORK, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DoubleVerify (“DV”) (NYSE: DV), the leading software platform to verify media quality, optimize advertising performance and prove campaign outcomes, today announced the launch of attribution measurement for advertising on ChatGPT. Advertisers can now incorporate ChatGPT Ads as a touchpoint within the broader customer journey, helping them understand its contribution to outcomes and overall return on ad spend (ROAS).

DV and OpenAI are also developing a brand suitability evaluation pilot designed to enable independent partners to collaborate with OpenAI to assess and help inform brand suitability policies and guardrails in a controlled testing environment, without accessing private user conversations.

Understanding ChatGPT Ads’ Role in the Customer Journey

With this announcement, DV enables advertisers to measure ChatGPT Ads alongside their other marketing touchpoints, helping brands understand how the channel contributes to acquisition goals, conversions and overall campaign performance. By incorporating ChatGPT Ads into their attribution measurement, advertisers can evaluate its impact alongside other channels rather than viewing performance in isolation.

“Advertisers want to understand not just whether a new channel is performing, but the business impact it’s actually driving,” said Mark Zagorski, CEO of DV. “By bringing ChatGPT Ads into DV’s attribution measurement through DV Rockerbox™, marketers can connect engagement on ChatGPT to outcomes and return on ad spend, giving them a clearer view of its role across the customer journey.”

Early results demonstrate the value of this approach. Weight Watchers added ChatGPT Ads as a new source of member acquisition and used DV Rockerbox to independently measure its performance. ChatGPT’s attributed cost per acquisition was 15.3% below Weight Watchers’ established benchmark during the measured period, providing an early signal of the channel’s potential as the company evaluates increased investment.

“As new advertising channels emerge, we need to understand how they contribute to the broader customer journey,” said Jake Dmochowski, VP of Growth, Weight Watchers. “DV Rockerbox helped us put ChatGPT Ads performance into context alongside our existing investments, giving us an encouraging early signal and greater clarity as we evaluate how to scale.”

Advancing Brand Suitability for ChatGPT Ads

As part of this announcement, DV and OpenAI are developing a brand risk and suitability evaluation pilot designed to assess conversational context at scale, helping advertisers determine whether ad placements align with their brand suitability preferences. The goal is to give advertisers greater transparency into how those policies and guardrails work while protecting conversation privacy.

“Conversational environments are fundamentally different because context is dynamic. What a user asks, how the AI responds and how the conversation evolves can all shape the environment in which an ad appears,” added Zagorski. “That requires a new approach to brand risk and suitability. As advertising on ChatGPT scales, advertisers need confidence that their brands are appearing in suitable environments, with context evaluated while user privacy is protected.”

Together, attribution and brand suitability measurement will address two fundamental advertiser needs: understanding the business impact of their investment and gaining greater confidence in the context in which their brands appear.

DV’s brand suitability and attribution capabilities are part of the DV Media AdVantage Platform (DV MAP™), the full-spectrum media effectiveness platform that combines media verification, AI-powered optimization through DV Scibids AI™ and campaign outcomes measurement with DV Rockerbox to maximize media effectiveness and return on ad spend. These capabilities help advertisers drive stronger business outcomes across channels, devices and formats.

Findings highlight opportunities for further improvement in treatment use and adherence, despite the availability of multiple long-term prophylaxis and on-demand treatment options

ZUG, Switzerland, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Pharvaris (Nasdaq: PHVS) a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel, oral bradykinin B2 receptor antagonists to help address unmet needs of those living with bradykinin-mediated angioedema (AE-BK), such as hereditary angioedema (HAE) and acquired angioedema due to C1 inhibitor deficiency (AAE-C1INH), today announced that insights from a Pharvaris-funded analysis of the multinational Adelphi Real World HAE Disease Specific Programme™ (DSP) dataset evaluating how HAE is managed in clinical practice have been published in Advances in Therapy.

The analysis evaluated real-world patterns of HAE disease management including frequency, severity, and characteristics of HAE attacks; use of long-term prophylaxis (LTP) and on-demand treatment (ODT); patient and physician decision-making around treating or not treating attacks; treatment adherence and reasons for suboptimal adherence; and patient and physician perspectives on treatment satisfaction and unmet needs.

“By incorporating both physician-reported clinical data and patient-reported experiences, this analysis provides a comprehensive view of how hereditary angioedema is managed in routine clinical practice,” said Peng Lu, M.D., Ph.D., President of Pharvaris. “Early diagnosis and effective treatment remain critical, yet this real-world analysis highlights remaining gaps between guideline-recommended care and the actual experience of people with HAE. Addressing these gaps may help improve treatment outcomes, enhance patient satisfaction, and optimize overall disease management. These findings highlight the importance of understanding how treatment decisions are made in real-world settings and the barriers that may still limit alignment with clinical guidelines. At Pharvaris, we are committed to supporting the HAE community by leveraging insights to inform decisions and to identify solutions that may further inform medical care and address the practical and clinical needs of patients and physicians in everyday practice.”

Study Insights
The analysis identified gaps that currently persist between guideline-recommended care and real-world practice. Patient satisfaction with treatment and the decision to change treatment were mostly driven by ease of portability, route of administration, perceived efficacy, and the odds of experiencing adverse events. In addition, treatment burden—particularly related to route of administration, convenience, and integration into daily life—continues to impact patient behavior and satisfaction.

With regards to on-demand treatment of attacks, a substantial proportion of patients do not treat all HAE attacks, most commonly because attacks are perceived as not severe enough to use treatments patients perceive being associated with increased burden. Other reasons included the lack of availability of therapy and pain associated with injectable treatments. With regards to LTP treatment satisfaction, daily oral treatment was preferred over biweekly or monthly injections. These findings highlight ongoing unmet needs and suggest that real-world factors, including patient preferences and treatment usability, play a critical role in treatment outcomes.

Study Details
The analysis used data from the Adelphi Real World HAE DSP, a cross-sectional, retrospective survey conducted between January 2023 and January 2024 across the United States, Europe, and Japan. The study included 225 physicians, who completed record-based assessments for 1,131 patients with HAE, as well as 279 patients who provided direct, self-reported insights through questionnaires. This dual approach enabled comparison of physician-reported clinical data with patient-reported experiences, offering a comprehensive view of real-world HAE management. The survey captured both clinical characteristics and patient perspectives, including treatment behaviors and quality-of-life impact. Although the HAE treatment landscape has evolved between the time of the survey and present, the findings from the study are still considered actual.
