In 2022, we consolidated our signature well-being and benefit programs under the Live+Well, Work+Well program. It is our goal for our employees to be equipped to unlock their full potential at home, work and everywhere in between.

Live+Well, Work+Well has five core pillars: Health, Wealth, Self, Connections and Productivity.

Health: Our health programs, resources and tips offer ways to help our employees and their families maintain and improve their physical health. We provide onsite health centers, fitness centers and classes, as well as lifestyle and chronic condition coaching in some countries.

Where applicable, we provide our employees around the globe with comprehensive healthcare coverage, with no employee premiums for employee medical coverage and low or no premiums for family members. We are continuously reviewing and benchmarking our benefits programs to ensure that we are listening to what our employees want and that our programs are positioned competitively

In 2022, we:

expanded our existing Health Club Reimbursement to provide more employees with funds for fitness memberships, club fees, ski lift tickets, registration fees and other fitness-related expenses; enhanced our global minimum maternity, paternity and parental leave benefits; expanded our gender dysphoria medical benefits in the United States; and expanded our coverage in the United States for travel expenses related to obtaining covered medical services that are not available locally to our employees and their families.

Wealth: We believe that good financial health is important for our employees, both in the present and as they look forward to retirement. Our wealth resources provide financial education and strategy so our employees can feel confident about where they are — and where they are going.

We offer our employees participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, savings and retirement tax advantaged-accounts, life and disability insurance, tuition assistance, employee discounts, commuter benefits and a wireless device subsidy program, where applicable. We also host financial seminars and provide access to financial counselling for interested employees.

Self: We understand that in order for our employees to enjoy both work and life, they need to prioritize taking care of themselves. In support of employee selfcare, we provide an Employee Assistance Program, vacation and/or flexible time off, a resiliency resource program, family care resources, accommodations for mothers returning to work and a mental health allies network, where applicable.

In 2022, we continued to designate four additional global holidays each year to enable the majority of our people to take the same day off, which greatly contributes to the ability to fully unplug, relax and recharge. Since their inception in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, global holidays have been exceptionally well received by our employees as a mental health boost.

Connections: We believe that the connections made with colleagues, family, friends and community influence overall well-being. Our Company’s culture of inclusion and passion for our people and their careers have inspired programs that promote building and sustaining our personal networks.

We support employee-driven networks, employeeled interest and hobby groups (known as Qclubs), mentoring programs, community volunteering by employees, service awards, an employee matching grant program and the Qualcomm Ambassador program, through which employees represent our Company in their local community and at internal events.

Our culture empowers employees at all levels to recognize each other’s great work and celebrate milestones. Our online social recognition platform, ThankQ, enables all employees to create public recognitions for their colleagues.

Productivity: We believe that productivity means more than simply getting a lot of work done or done fast. It means continuing to deliver world-changing innovations and technology breakthroughs while operating with behaviors that promote balance and wellbeing.

We provide productivity resources for our employees related to flexible and hybrid work, effective meetings, time management, promoting ethical conduct, managing their email inboxes and supporting inclusivity.

Otis facility in San Sebastian becomes first factory in Spain to obtain LEED Platinum® Certification. All three Otis manufacturing centers in Spain, located in Madrid, San Sebastián and Vigo, have received ‘Zero Waste’ certification. The Otis factory in Vigo completed installation of its photovoltaic plant, expected to result in a reduction of ~44 Mtons of CO2 per year.

MADRID, August 7, 2023 /3BL/ – In line with Otis’ global objective of reducing the environmental impacts of our products, services and operations, its manufacturing centers in Spain have implemented important energy, water and waste initiatives. Otis (NYSE: OTIS) is the world’s leading company for elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service.

“At Otis, we understand that it is our responsibility to be stewards of our natural resources and to do the right thing for our planet and future generations. These certifications are recognition of our efforts to do well while doing good,” said Rosa Querejeta, Otis Executive Director of Manufacturing for Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Spain’s 1st LEED Platinum factory

The Otis factory in San Sebastian, inaugurated a year ago, maximizes energy and water savings while minimizing environmental impact. Features such as its thermal insulation, the use of natural sunlight in addition to the installation of solar panels, and its waste control system have earned it LEED Platinum certification, the highest category in the LEED® green building program, becoming the first factory in the country to obtain it.

San Sebastian´s factory occupies a total area of 17,000 square meters. It is built with sustainable materials and runs on 100% renewable energy. Thanks to the installation of several systems designed to reduce the flow of water inside the building, water consumption has been reduced by 45%, compared to the factory that it replaced.

Energy efficiency

A cornerstone of Otis’ program to reduce emissions is the use of renewable energy. The Vigo factory has just completed the installation of 432 solar photovoltaic panels on its roof. This is expected to reduce annual electricity consumption by 30%, eliminating 44 metric tons of CO2 emitted annually.

All Otis factories in Spain now have solar photovoltaic installations, and all the remaining energy that is purchased for these factories is 100% green energy coming from renewable sources.

‘Zero Waste’ certifications

All three manufacturing centers in Spain also recently obtained ‘Zero Waste’ distinction from AENOR®, a training, accreditation and certification organization. This seal certifies that more than 90% of the waste produced has been diverted from landfills (returned to the production chain).

“I’m proud of the commitment and progress of our Spain operations and their contributions toward helping achieve our worldwide ESG targets,” said Kevin Dix, Vice President, Environment, Health & Safety.

Otis’ commitment to sustainability is reflected in its 13 Environmental, Social & Governance goals, including Environment & Impact goals:

Achieve 50% reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030.Reach carbon neutrality for factory electricity by 2030.Complete ISO 14001 certification for all factories by 2025. (Complete.)Achieve 100% factory eligibility for zero-waste-to-landfill certification by 2025.

In 1966, Light Tree Apartments opened in the community of East Palo Alto, California, with 94 townhomes. Today, the 3.9-acre site has been redeveloped to offer nearly double that in affordable housing units in an area facing a heightened affordable housing crisis – Silicon Valley.

The renovated and newly constructed Light Tree Apartment community was celebrated last month, following a 10-year redevelopment effort lead by affordable housing developer Eden Housing, Inc. and East Palo Alto Community Alliance and Neighborhood Development Organization, with investments from U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance. The community now offers 185 affordable housing units for low-income families, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, formerly homeless individuals and former foster youth.

“There are many people who aren’t making the higher wages and still need to be housed and they deserve a home – this project is doing just that,” said East Palo Alto Mayor Lisa Gauthier. “We want to stop displacement and ensure that people have a home… affordable housing is the key to doing that.

U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance invested about $56.7 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit equity and provided another $56 million in loans toward the redevelopment, as part of the company’s commitment to the communities it serves. As a leading investor and lender in the new construction and renovation of affordable rental housing, U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance has invested more than $15.7 billion in affordable housing across the nation over the last three-plus decades, with about 40% of its investments in California.

“It’s a very complicated financing structure in the land of tax credits,” said Linda Manodlini, president and CEO of Eden Housing, Inc. “We care a lot about our partnerships and we don’t pick just any partner to work with…we pick partners we know share our values.”

U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance and Eden Housing have partnered on a number of affordable housing projects in California over the last several years.

“Not only are we excited to celebrate with Eden Housing on another exciting and transformational housing development, we truly value our relationship with Eden Housing in making an impact in the communities we serve,” said Lisa Gutierrez, director of business development for affordable housing at U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance.

At Light Tree, in addition to renovating existing apartments and building additional units, residents now have many new amenities to enjoy including community gardens, a basketball court, play structure and a pool. On-site services and case management for residents is being provided by Eden Housing Resident Services, Housing Choices and San Mateo County Behavioral and Health Recovery Services.

For resident Charles, who first moved into his Light Tree apartment in 1982, the renovations are welcome.

“It’s been a big change from the time I moved here, it’s really nice. It’s a really nice place now. It’s clean and it does feel safe, it feels really safe,” he said. “I’ve lived here for more than 40 years and want to live here until the end.”

KeyBank is proud to announce it recently was named a Community Champion by Mile High United Way, the highest corporate partner recognition by the Denver nonprofit. As the Partner in Service winner, KeyBank is honored to be named as an exceptional philanthropic partner, making a positive impact across the Metro Denver community.

KeyBank has been a supporter of Mile High United Way for many years in different ways. Most recently Key marked its 32nd annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day, one of the banks most visible community volunteer projects where over 16,000 hours were given to nonprofits across the banks footprint. Thousands of teammates from around the country left their offices to volunteer for various local community organizations, projects and causes, including Mile High United Way. This is one of many ways Key supports this organization.

“We all love our community and take pride in living in and supporting our neighbors,” said Mike Katz, KeyBank’s Colorado Market President. “Supporting Mile High United Way is an honor and privilege as we respect the work they are doing in our community to make real, lasting change.”

This recognition comes as Mile High United Way concludes a year-long celebration of its 135th anniversary as the first United Way in the world. Founded in Denver in 1887, Mile High United Way serves a seven-county footprint, providing families with wraparound support centered on three interconnected community priorities: giving all children a strong start, supporting academic success and creating economic opportunity for all.

Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) has released its latest environmental, social and governance (ESG) report outlining the company’s 2022 progress on the corporate responsibility ambitions and priorities established for its 2021-2025 reporting period.

Targeted for achievement by 2025, Sands’ performance on its ambitions in the People, Communities and Planet pillars of its corporate responsibility program through 2022 included:

People – Aiming toward its 2025 target to invest $200 million in workforce development initiatives to advance Team Members and local talent in the hospitality industry, Sands invested $56 million in 2022 and $113 million since 2021. Funding has supported core initiatives such as the Sands Academy Team Member training and development program and the Sands China F.I.T. (financial support, invitational matching, and training and development) program for small and medium enterprises, as well as other regional workforce development initiatives.

Communities In 2022, Sands exceeded its 2025 goal of contributing 150,000 Team Member volunteer hours to support local communities with 192,330 volunteer hours provided to date. Extensive Team Member volunteer support for pandemic-related initiatives in Macao, such as community testing and vaccinations, propelled accomplishment of this ambition in just two years. Sands plans to set a new 2025 target this year, which will be presented in the 2023 ESG Report.

Planet – Greenhouse gas emissions remained significantly below the 2018 baseline for Sands’ 2025 emissions reduction goal of 17.5%, achieving a 50% reduction in 2022. While the pandemic continued to impact property visitation, the company has pursued a number of emissions reduction projects to ensure it remains on track to meet the target in 2025 as business is expected to rebound, increasing energy consumption. In 2022, Sands properties installed controls to reduce energy use while guests are away in 3,300 hotel rooms and are replacing hard-to-convert incandescent and fluorescent lighting to LED solutions. The company purchased 151,000 megawatt hours of renewable energy certificates and generated 235 megawatt hours from solar plants. Sands properties also worked on transitioning their fleets to electric vehicles and installed additional electric charging stations for Team Members.

“We set targets that push the company to achieve tangible results, and the work we have outlined toward these ambitions has put us on a solid track to reach our goals,” Katarina Tesarova, senior vice president and chief sustainability officer, said. “Beyond these three primary ambitions, we have a full range of core priorities under our People, Communities and Planet pillars that have also produced significant impact and are summarized in the report.”

Underscoring Sands’ performance in 2022, the company was again recognized on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for World and North America, and Sands China was named to the DJSI World Index for the first time, along with a repeat appearance on the DJSI Asia Pacific Index. In addition, Sands was also recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies and listed as one of the Drucker Institute’s 250 best-managed publicly traded companies, the only company in the gaming industry to be included in this top-tier group.
