World class equipment and services company, CNH, has launched its A Sustainable Year magazine. The annual publication promotes the company’s innovation and sustainability initiatives.

The first story in the series explains how humans can learn to trust the recommendations of artificial intelligence (AI). AI has broad manufacturing applications that can increase efficiency and productivity, so it is important to understand how it arrives at its conclusions.

This is why CNH is exploring the potential of explainable AI (XAI) with the XMANAI (eXplainable MANufacturing AI) project in San Matteo, Italy. Included in this story is an interview with academic expert, Dr Fabio Grandi, from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

This June, Bath & Body Works welcomes Pride Month – a time of celebration and self-acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, and a time for reflection on the progress made and the work still needed to achieve equality for all.

Bath & Body Works is committed to honoring the culture and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month and throughout the year. Below are just a few ways we’re celebrating this important month.

Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community

We are proud to continue our support of It Gets Better and their mission to uplift, empower and connect LGBTQ+ youth around the globe. Bath & Body Works is donating $100,000 to It Gets Better as part of our commitment to improving people’s lives in underserved and underrepresented communities across the country. We’re also supporting It Gets Better Canada with a $30,000 CAD donation.

As a central Ohio company, Bath & Body Works is sponsoring the Stonewall Columbus Pride March. This celebration brings more than 700,000 visitors to central Ohio to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, and hundreds of Bath & Body Works associates and their families join the march in support.

Supporting Bath & Body Works Associates

PRISM, our Inclusion Resource Group for LGBTQ+ associates and allies, welcomes all Bath & Body Works associates to participate in a full month of virtual and in-person programming to learn, reflect, celebrate and connect. Activities include the opportunity to contribute to a quilt inspired by the historic AIDS memorial quilt, a special Pride movie night and an associate celebration featuring special guest speakers, panels and a resource fair with LGBTQ+ vendors.

Celebrating Pride with Love Always Wins

Perfumers Victor Bartash and Chiaki Nomura along with Bath & Body Works designer Julianne Fletcher collaborated on this year’s Love Always Wins collection which is available in stores and online.

Love Always Wins includes an array of products across personal care and home fragrance in a new vibrant fragrance featuring notes of rainbow citrus, water lotus and wood sage.

When designing the collection, Julianne Fletcher drew inspiration from the history and power of the AIDS Memorial Quilt and brought in a colorful, hexagonal pattern to the product packaging.

“My strongest connection to the LGBTQ+ community is being a proud mom, supporter and an ally to my youngest son Sam,” says Fletcher. “To have my designs representing Pride Month gives me hope and makes me proud.”

Continuing Our Support of Future Perfumers

The American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program awards undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups, majoring in chemistry-related disciplines and careers. As part of a three-year partnership which began in 2023, the Bath & Body Works Foundation has donated a total of $200,000 to support both the ACS Scholars Program and the ACS Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Respect’s mission. This donation will help open doors for the next generation of leaders in chemistry-related fields, like perfumers and more.

The Albertsons Companies Foundation announced the launch of a new collective effort focused on addressing childhood hunger this summer. By bringing together a coalition of leading nonprofit organizations, the first-of-its-kind initiative aims to drive awareness and boost participation in the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) new Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer for Children Program (Summer EBT), also known as SUN Bucks.

“Childhood hunger is a complex problem that requires partners from across the food system to come together and collaborate,” said Christy Duncan Anderson, President and Executive Director of Albertsons Companies Foundation. “Through the collective knowledge, expertise and extensive network of prominent nonprofits and the Albertsons Companies Foundation, we aim to connect with a greater number of families than we could individually.”

For the millions of kids who rely on free or reduced-priced meals at school, summer can mean a lack of access to nutritious food. To help combat this, the USDA has launched Summer EBT, a new program available in 37 states, all five U.S. territories, and two Tribes. The program will provide grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families in participating states will receive $120 per eligible school-aged child to purchase groceries.

“We have advocated for the creation of a summer EBT program like SUN Bucks for more than a decade and we are thrilled that this program will be available to families facing food insecurity this summer,” said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. “Working alongside people facing hunger and partners like Albertsons Companies Foundation, we will make a real impact on summer hunger and lay the groundwork for more states to participate next year.”

The Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors program together with an Advisory Group of leading players across the food system will work together to ensure as many families as possible benefit from the program in this critical first year. The Advisory Group is comprised of representatives from Feeding America®, Food Research & Action Center, Gift Card Bank, Hunger Free America, mRelief, No Kid Hungry, Partnership for a Healthier America, and WhyHunger. This group reaches more than 200 foodbanks, 500 school districts and community organizations, and over 1500 partner organizations across the country.

“Summer is the hungriest time of the year for the millions of children who rely on school meals, and the rising costs of groceries means families are feeling the pinch even more,” added Anne Filipic, CEO of Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign. “We believe that by joining Albertsons Companies Foundation and their partners, together we can get one step closer to ensuring every single child in America has the food they need to grow up healthy and strong.”

Through a surround-sound approach designed to reach parents and caregivers online and, in their communities, the initiative aims to ensure families have access to the information they need to learn how they can benefit from this new program.

In addition, the coalition launched a new website, SummerEBT.org, which gives families a simple, fast way to check if they are eligible and connect to their state sign-up site. For families that live in states that are not participating, the site directs them to other food resources, such as the USDA Summer Meals program, and enables them write to their elected representatives encouraging their state’s participation next summer.

BELLEVUE, Wash., June 13, 2024 /3BL/ — T-Mobile announced today that it was chosen as a wireless solutions provider by the U.S. Department of the Navy as part of the $2.67 billion Spiral 4 contract. This new contract will give all Department of Defense agencies the ability to place orders for wireless services and equipment from T-Mobile for the next ten years.

With Spiral 4, the Department of Defense will have the opportunity to leverage T-Mobile’s leading 5G network for state-of-the-art wireless solutions that meet the evolving needs of government operations. The comprehensive, multiple-award contract includes voice, data, fixed wireless solutions, Internet of Things and mobility management solutions. It will help ensure robust and reliable connectivity for government activities — from mission critical communications to network solutions that serve military personnel and federal civilian agencies.

“The Spiral 4 contract award is a testament to T-Mobile’s leading 5G network and to our focus on building solutions that meet the critical needs of our government customers,” said David Bezzant, Vice President of Sales, T-Mobile for Government. “With a cutting-edge product portfolio, a proven track record and a clear vision for the future, we’re ready to take government innovation to the next level. It’s an honor to serve those who serve this Nation.”

This new contract replaces the previous iteration, Spiral 3, in response to changes in industry standards and technological advancements. Since participating in Spiral 3 starting in 2017, T-Mobile has significantly grown its range of services for government operations. It launched 5G Advanced Network Solutions, a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge 5G solutions and applications — like 5G private and hybrid networks — that meet specific performance needs of government agencies.

T-Mobile also introduced Government Internet, a 5G fixed wireless solution that can function as the main internet connection or as unlimited backup, enhancing reliability and support for critical communications. T-Mobile and 3rd Eye Technologies are making it easier for government agencies to stay compliant with federal message archiving laws with a ready-to-use solution that securely captures and stores SMS and MMS message logs. And in the future, government agencies could leverage T-Mobile’s partnership with SpaceX, which aims to merge T-Mobile’s network with Starlink’s satellite capabilities with the goal to provide groundbreaking, near-universal connectivity.
