MONTREAL, Sept. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Stingray Group Inc. (TSX: RAY) (“Stingray” or the “Corporation”), the world’s leading connected streaming media company, today announced that the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) has approved the renewal of its normal course issuer bid (“NCIB”), authorizing Stingray to repurchase up to 4,420,643 subordinate voting and variable subordinate voting shares (the “Subordinate Shares”), representing approximately 10% of the “public float” (as defined in the TSX Company Manual) of Subordinate Shares as at September 14, 2026.

The net average daily trading volume for the six-month period preceding September 1, 2026 represents 39,657 Subordinate Shares. In accordance with TSX requirements, Stingray is entitled to purchase, on any trading day, up to a total of 9,914 Subordinate Shares representing 25% of this average daily trading volume.

Stingray believes that the purchase of up to 4,420,643 Subordinate Shares under the NCIB is an appropriate use of its funds and a desirable investment for Stingray and, therefore, would be in the best interests of Stingray. By making such repurchases, the number of Subordinate Shares in circulation will be reduced and the proportionate interest of all remaining shareholders in the share capital of Stingray will be increased on a pro rata basis.

Stingray may repurchase Subordinate Shares on the open market through the facilities of the TSX as well as through other alternative Canadian trading systems as well as outside the facilities of the TSX pursuant to statutory exemptions or exemption orders issued by securities regulators, from time to time, over the course of twelve months commencing September 27, 2026 and ending at the latest on September 26, 2027.

The actual number of Subordinate Shares purchased under the NCIB, the timing of purchases and the price at which the Subordinate Shares are bought will depend upon management discretion based on factors such as market conditions. All shares repurchased under the NCIB will be cancelled upon their repurchase.

In connection with the NCIB, Stingray has established an automatic securities purchase plan with a designated broker whereby shares may be repurchased at times when such purchases would otherwise be prohibited pursuant to regulatory restrictions or self-imposed blackout periods. Under the automatic securities purchase plan, before entering a self-imposed blackout period, Stingray may, but is not required to, ask the designated broker to make purchases under the NCIB. Such purchases will be made at the discretion of the designated broker, within parameters established by Stingray prior to the blackout periods. Outside the blackout periods, purchases are made at the discretion of Stingray’s management. The automatic securities purchase plan constitutes an “automatic plan” for purposes of applicable Canadian securities legislation and has been pre-cleared by the TSX.

As of September 14, 2026, Stingray had repurchased a total of 606,326 Subordinate Shares through the facilities of the TSX as well as through other alternative Canadian trading systems pursuant to its last NCIB (which will expire on September 26, 2026 and allows the repurchase of up to 3,710,428 Subordinate Shares) at a weighted average price of $13.83 per share. As of the close of business on September 14, 2026, there were 54,122,434 Subordinate Shares issued and outstanding of which 44,206,433 Subordinate Shares comprised the “public float”.

The Winds of Syex̣t Project Team

The New Winds of Syex̣t Logo

The new name and logo were chosen from submissions made by LNIB community members earlier this year..
The new name and logo were chosen from submissions made by LNIB community members earlier this year..

Merritt, British Columbia, Sept. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lower Nicola Indian Band (“LNIB”) and Capstone Infrastructure Corporation (“Capstone”) are pleased to announce that the Mount Mabel Wind Project has been renamed Winds of Syex̣t. The Project is now held by the legal entity Winds of Syext Energy Inc. This 142.8 MW wind energy project is jointly owned by LNIB (51%) and Capstone (49%) and is being developed on the traditional, ancestral territory of the nłeʔkepmx people, approximately 25 km northeast of the City of Merritt in British Columbia’s Nicola Valley. The Project secured a 30-year Electricity Purchase Agreement in BC Hydro’s 2024 Call for Power in December 2024.

Winds of Syex̣t: Looking After Tomorrow

Syex̣t means “tomorrow” or “future” in nłeʔkepmxcin, the traditional language of the nłeʔkepmx Nation and LNIB. It is most closely pronounced “sh-ee-x̣-t.”

LNIB members were invited to help shape the Project identity through a community naming and logo contest. LNIB Chief and Council selected the name submitted by Sophie Beckett and the artwork submitted by Katie Smith, which were combined to create the final logo. The artwork draws from the Nicola Valley landscape and the lived experience of being on the land. Its flowing forms evoke wind, movement, and connection, while the landscape-inspired shapes speak to the hills, rivers, wildlife, and gathering places that continue to shape community life.

Together, the name and logo Winds of Syex̣t tell a local story about connection to home, responsibility to the land, and the opportunity to build benefits for future generations. The new name and artwork mark an important milestone for the Project and reflect the shared focus of LNIB and Capstone on building a project that recognizes local identity, strengthens community benefits, and supports B.C.’s low-carbon future.

Artist Statement:

“I created this logo as a reflection of my connection to home. My family has lived in these valleys for generations, and some of my happiest memories are of being out on the land—walking the hills, fishing, gathering berries, watching wildlife, and spending time with family. Those experiences shaped my appreciation for the beauty, abundance, and resilience of this place, and I wanted the design to capture that sense of belonging.

For me, this logo represents more than renewable energy—it represents balance. It reflects the belief that caring for the land, supporting our communities, and building a sustainable future can all exist together. I am proud to see Lower Nicola Indian Band and Capstone Infrastructure working in partnership to create opportunities that honour both the people and the place we call home. Ultimately, this logo is a celebration of connection: to the land, to one another, and to the generations who will continue these stories long into the future.”

— Katie Smith, Lower Nicola Indian Band

Quotes

kʷúkʷpiʔ Nicholas Peterson, Lower Nicola Indian Band:

“For generations, projects came into our territory, and we had to respond and react to decisions someone else had already made. Winds of Syex̣t puts us in the driver’s seat. We are not being consulted on this project; we are creating it. That matters because we are honest about what development means: there will be an impact, and when we are the ones making the decisions, we can address that impact in alignment with our own values. Our people have been here since time immemorial and we will be here forever, and we are taught to make decisions for seven generations ahead. A name that means ‘tomorrow’ is a tangible expression of that. The real benefit of this project is coming tomorrow, for the generations after us.”

David Eva, CEO, Capstone Infrastructure:

“Winds of Syex̣t is being developed and will be operated as a true partnership between Capstone and Lower Nicola Indian Band. Our partnership goes beyond shared economic interests, it means working together on environmental stewardship, skills development, and training, and, as this name and logo symbolize, recognizing the ancestral homeland and values of the nłeʔkepmx people. The name chosen by LNIB members that means ‘tomorrow’ captures the essence of our partnership, towards building a lasting benefit for future generations, while helping power British Columbia’s low-carbon future.”

About Lower Nicola Indian Band

The Lower Nicola Indian Band (nʔeʔiyk) is located near Merritt, B.C. and is part of nłeʔkepmx (Nlaka’pamux) Nation. With over 1,500 members LNIB is one of the largest Nations in the Southern Interior. LNIB has a long history of combining economic development with stewardship of our traditional lands and resources and protection of their culture, language, and traditional knowledge. Through its business arm, LNIB has been an innovator in economic reconciliation and development and has built a portfolio of business ventures which provide opportunities for their members, and which sustainably develop the natural resources located in their traditional territory.
