• Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital installs Genesis Robotic Magnetic Navigation System, establishing the first robotic program for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia in Latvia
  • First procedures successfully treated patients with a broad range of arrhythmia

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Stereotaxis (NYSE: STXS), a pioneer and global leader in surgical robotics for minimally invasive endovascular intervention, today announced that Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital in Riga, Latvia, has established the first robotic center for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in Latvia and has successfully treated initial patients with the Genesis Robotic Magnetic Navigation System.

“The introduction of the advanced Genesis technology at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital reflects the hospital’s long-term commitment to developing highly specialized, modern, and patient safety focused healthcare services,” said Prof. Andrejs Ērglis, Head of the Latvian Cardiology Center at Stradiņš Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the University of Latvia. “We are proud to make this technology available to the benefit of arrhythmia patients, allowing all patients to benefit from the precision, controlled catheter movement, and safety of robotics. We particularly see value in our robotic program expanding the potential to treat complex cardiac arrhythmia.”

Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital is Latvia’s premier hospital, academic and research center, with a strong reputation in cardiology excellence. The Genesis Robotic Magnetic Navigation system introduces the benefits of robotic precision and safety to cardiac ablation, a common minimally invasive procedure to treat arrhythmias. Tens of millions of individuals worldwide suffer from arrhythmias – abnormal heart rhythms that result when the heart beats too quickly, too slowly, or with an irregular pattern. When left untreated, arrhythmia may significantly increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest.

“We are delighted to establish this new robotic electrophysiology center of excellence with Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital,” said David Fischel, Chairman and CEO of Stereotaxis. “We look forward to collaborating with the hospital and cardiology team to advance patient care in Latvia and advance clinical science that will have a global impact.”

CATSKILL, N.Y., Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Greene County Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) (NASDAQ: GCBC), the holding company for Bank of Greene (formerly the Bank of Greene County) and its subsidiary Greene County Commercial Bank, today reported net income for the three months ended September 30, 2026, which is the first quarter of the Company’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. Net income for the three months ended September 30, 2026 was $12.5 million, or $0.73 per basic and diluted share, as compared to $8.9 million, or $0.52 per basic and diluted share, for the three months ended September 30, 2025. Net income increased $3.6 million, or 40.9%, when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025.

Highlights:

  • Net Income: $12.5 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, a new record high
  • Total Assets: $3.2 billion at September 30, 2026, a new record high
  • Net Loans: $1.8 billion at September 30, 2026, a new record high
  • Total Deposits: $2.8 billion at September 30, 2026, a new record high
  • Return on Average Assets: 1.61% for the three months ended September 30, 2026
  • Return on Average Equity: 17.73% for the three months ended September 30, 2026

“This quarter marked an important milestone as we introduced the Bank of Greene name and delivered record quarterly earnings,” said Donald Gibson, President & CEO. “Our new name reflects the broader region we serve and the relationships we continue to build across the Hudson Valley and Capital Region. Our commitment remains rooted in responsive personal service and local decision making. We are proud of our employees and remain focused on growing responsibly, supporting our customers, and delivering long-term shareholder value.”

Effective September 14, 2026, the Company’s primary banking subsidiary changed its legal name from the Bank of Greene County to Bank of Greene. The name change has no impact on the Bank’s operations and has no impact on the Company’s consolidated financial statements.

At the Company’s Annual Meeting on November 7, 2026, shareholders will consider a related proposal to amend the Company’s charter to change its legal name from Greene County Bancorp, Inc. to Greene Bancorp, Inc. If approved, the name change is expected to become effective following certification of the shareholder vote on November 9, 2026. The Company’s Nasdaq trading symbol “GCBC” and CUSIP number are not expected to change.

Total consolidated assets for the Company were $3.2 billion at September 30, 2026, primarily consisting of $1.8 billion of net loans and $1.2 billion of total securities available-for-sale and held-to-maturity. Consolidated deposits totaled $2.8 billion at September 30, 2026, consisting of retail, business, municipal and private banking relationships.

Pre-provision net income was $12.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to $10.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025, an increase of $1.9 million, or 19.2%. Pre-provision net income measures the Company’s net income not including the provision for credit losses. Management believes that this non-GAAP measure assists investors in comprehending the impact of the provision for credit losses on the Company’s reported results, offering an alternative view of the Company’s performance and the Company’s ability to generate income in excess of its provision for credit losses.

The Company continues to manage its balance sheet with a focus on higher-yielding loans and securities, and disciplined deposit pricing. Deposit rates are actively managed in response to market interest rates and competitive conditions. These efforts contributed to a higher net interest margin for the three months ended September 30, 2026, compared with the same period in 2025.

Uncertainty surrounding inflation, the direction of interest rates, and geopolitical developments continues to influence the economic outlook. The Company remains focused on prudent risk management, maintaining financial strength and pursuing profitable growth, while delivering long-term shareholder value and serving the financial needs of its communities.

Selected highlights for the three months ended September 30, 2026, are as follows:

Net Interest Income and Margin

  • Net interest income increased $4.4 million to $21.9 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, from $17.5 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The increase in net interest income was primarily due to an increase in the average balance of interest-earning assets, which increased $159.3 million when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, an increase in the average yield on interest-earning assets, which increased 16 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, and a decrease in the average rate paid on interest-bearing liabilities, which decreased 30 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025. The increase in net interest income was offset by an increase in the average balance of interest-bearing liabilities, which increased $101.8 million when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025.

Average loan balances increased $113.6 million and the yield on such loans increased 12 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025. The average balance of securities increased $58.4 million and the yield on such securities increased 24 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025. The average interest-bearing bank balances and federal funds decreased $14.6 million and the yield on interest-bearing bank balances and federal funds decreased 125 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025.

The cost of NOW deposits decreased 39 basis points, the cost of certificates of deposits decreased 25 basis points, and the cost of savings and money market deposits decreased 4 basis points when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025. The growth in the average interest-bearing liabilities was primarily due to an increase in certificates of deposits of $51.8 million, an increase in average NOW deposits of $32.7 million, and an increase in average savings and money market deposits of $489,000 when comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025. When comparing the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, yields on interest-earning assets increased while the costs of interest-bearing deposits declined, reflecting continued asset repricing and the Company’s strategic reduction in deposit rates.

  • Net interest rate spread increased 46 basis points to 2.71% for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to 2.25% for the three months ended September 30, 2025.
Net interest margin increased 45 basis points to 2.93% for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to 2.48% for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The improvement reflected higher yields on loans and securities, combined with lower deposit costs, including reduced rates paid on NOW accounts and certificates of deposit. These benefits more than offset the decline in yields on interest-bearing bank balances and federal funds, supporting margin expansion alongside balance sheet growth.
  • Net interest income on a taxable-equivalent basis includes the additional amount of interest income that would have been earned if the Company’s investment in tax-exempt securities and loans had been subject to federal and New York State income taxes yielding the same after-tax income. Tax-equivalent net interest margin increased 46 basis points to 3.24% for the three months ended September 30, 2026, from 2.78% for the three months ended September 30, 2025.

Credit Quality and Provision for Credit Losses

  • Provision for credit losses amounted to a benefit of $432,000 for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to a charge of $1.3 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The benefit for the three months ended September 30, 2026, was primarily attributable to the release of the allowance for credit losses associated with an individually evaluated loan that was repaid in full during the quarter, as well as improvements in the economic forecasts used in the Current Expected Credit Loss (“CECL”) model. The allowance for credit losses on loans to total loans receivable was 1.21% at September 30, 2026 as compared to 1.25% at June 30, 2026.
  • Commercial and commercial real estate loans classified as substandard and special mention totaled $30.8 million at September 30, 2026, and $40.0 million at June 30, 2026, a decrease of $9.2 million. The decrease in the commercial and commercial real estate loans classified during the period ended September 30, 2026 was primarily due to upgrades of commercial real estate and commercial loans that were considered to be performing and paying in accordance with the terms of their loan agreements, and commercial real estate and commercial loans that were paid off during the period. Of the loans classified as substandard or special mention, $29.9 million were performing at September 30, 2026. There were no loans classified as doubtful or loss at September 30, 2026 or June 30, 2026.
  • Net charge-offs on loans amounted to $48,000 and $60,000 for the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 2025, respectively, a decrease of $12,000. There were no material charge-offs in any loan segment during the three months ended September 30, 2026.
  • Nonperforming loans amounted to $3.2 million at September 30, 2026 and $3.9 million at June 30, 2026. The activity in nonperforming loans during the period included $1.2 million in loan repayments, $163,000 in loans returning to performing status, $91,000 in charge-offs or transfers to foreclosure, and $720,000 of loans placed into nonperforming status. At September 30, 2026, nonperforming assets were 0.10% of total assets as compared to 0.12% at June 30, 2026. At September 30, 2026, nonperforming loans were 0.18% of net loans as compared to 0.23% at June 30, 2026.

Noninterest Income and Noninterest Expense

  • Noninterest income decreased $1.1 million, or 27.0%, to $2.9 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to $4.0 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The decrease during the three months ended September 30, 2026 was primarily due to a $1.2 million loss on sales of securities available-for-sale and a decrease of $289,000 in income earned on customer interest rate swaps. This was partially offset by a $140,000 increase in investment services income.
  • Noninterest expense increased $740,000, or 7.4%, to $10.8 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026 as compared to $10.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The increase during the three months ended September 30, 2026 was primarily due to an increase of $582,000 in salaries and employee benefits and an increase of $367,000 in the allowance for credit losses unfunded commitment expense, due to an increase in the Company’s contractual obligation to extend credit.

Income Taxes

  • Provision for income taxes reflects the expected tax associated with the pre-tax income generated for the given period and certain regulatory requirements. The effective tax rate was 13.4% for the three months ended September 30, 2026 and 12.9% for the three months ended September 30, 2025. The statutory tax rate is impacted by the benefits derived from tax-exempt bond and loan income, the Company’s real estate investment trust subsidiary income, income received on the bank owned life insurance and tax credits to arrive at the effective tax rate. The increase during the three months ended September 30, 2026 was primarily due to higher mix of pre-tax income and reflects a lower mix of tax-exempt income from municipal bonds, tax advantage loans, and bank owned life insurance in proportion to pre-tax income.

Balance Sheet Summary

  • Total assets of the Company were $3.2 billion at September 30, 2026 and June 30, 2026.

The allowance for credit losses on loans decreased $417,000, or 1.9%, to $21.4 million at September 30, 2026 as compared to $21.9 million at June 30, 2026. The decrease in the allowance for credit losses was primarily attributable to the release of the allowance for credit losses associated with an individually evaluated loan that was repaid in full during the quarter, as well as improvements in the economic forecasts used in the CECL model.
  • Deposits totaled $2.8 billion at September 30, 2026 as compared to $2.7 billion at June 30, 2026, an increase of $134.4 million, or 5.0%. • Intravenous SCY-247 was generally well tolerated in healthy participants, with no drug-related serious adverse events
  • Once-daily intravenous doses of 50 mg or higher achieved exposures at or above the target identified in murine models of invasive candidiasis
  • Company expects to initiate Phase 2 development of SCY-247 in oral and IV formulations in 2027, subject to regulatory agreement
  • SCY-247 development is advancing with the support of a BARDA contract providing up to approximately $214 million in non-dilutive funding if milestones are achieved

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SCYNEXIS, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCYX) (“SCYNEXIS”, or the “Company”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to advancing innovative solutions for severe rare diseases, today announced topline results from its Phase 1 single ascending dose (SAD) and multiple ascending dose (MAD) trial of the intravenous (IV) formulation of SCY-247, its second-generation triterpenoid (fungerp) antifungal candidate. SCY-247 is under development in both oral and intravenous (IV) formulations for the treatment and prevention of invasive fungal infections with the potential to provide therapeutic advantages by having activity against drug-resistant fungi.

“With Phase 1 studies of both the intravenous and oral formulations of SCY-247 now complete, we can refine our plans for the next stage of development of this second-generation fungerp, designed to address the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance,” said Todd Minga, M.D., SVP of Research and Development at Scynexis. “Having both intravenous and oral formulations could provide flexibility in managing patients with invasive candidiasis and those at risk of invasive fungal diseases. We look forward to initiating a Phase 2 study next year, subject to agreement with the FDA.”

Recently, Scynexis was awarded a BARDA contract (75A50126C00007) providing up to approximately $214 million in non-dilutive funding, if milestones are achieved, to advance the development of SCY-247. The award is structured as a cost-share arrangement, with BARDA providing support for eligible SCY-247 costs. The Company expects to fund its share of near-term program costs for SCY-247 within its existing operating plan. The Company’s previously communicated development plans for SCY-770 to initiate a Phase 2 study in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the Company’s projected cash runway into 2029 remain unchanged.

Phase 1 Study Results

The study evaluated the safety and characterized the pharmacokinetics of intravenous SCY-247 to inform progression to, and dose selection for, a Phase 2 study in patients with invasive candidiasis. The Phase 1 study enrolled 56 healthy participants across seven cohorts: 42 received SCY-247 by peripheral intravenous infusion and 14 received placebo. The study evaluated single ascending doses up to 300 mg and multiple ascending doses administered once daily for seven days up to 200 mg.

SCY-247 administered by peripheral intravenous infusion was generally well tolerated. The most commonly reported adverse reactions were mild to moderate erythema and pain at the infusion site. There were no drug-related serious adverse events or discontinuations due to a related adverse event.

Intravenous doses of 50 mg once daily or higher achieved exposures at or above the efficacy target identified in murine models of invasive candidiasis (AUC0–24 of 20 µg·h/mL). A previously completed Phase 1 study indicated that oral doses of 100 mg or higher are also anticipated to achieve the target exposure for efficacy. Overall, the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile observed in this study support the continued clinical development of SCY-247. Further details of the results from this study will be presented at an upcoming scientific meeting.

Invasive candidiasis is associated with high mortality, and resistance to the limited available antifungal options is making treatment increasingly challenging. Designed to address these limitations, SCY-247 has demonstrated in vitro and in vivo activity against several challenging Candida strains, including Candida auris, as well as most azole- and echinocandin-resistant strains. SCY-247 has been granted Orphan Drug, Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP) and Fast Track designations by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Future activities for this project may be funded in whole or in part with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR); Center for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), under contract number 75A50126C00007.

Approximately 22-day field program to be managed by Lonquist, with results to feed 3D gravity inversion and 2D modelling along key seismic profiles

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vortex Energy Corp. (CSE: VRTX) (OTC: VTECF) (FSE: AA3) (“Vortex” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has secured the approvals, permits and land access permissions required to commence its planned ground gravity survey at the Robinsons River Salt Project in Newfoundland and Labrador. The current survey design comprises approximately 500 planned measurement stations, with field acquisition expected to be undertaken by McKeown Exploration Services under the management of Lonquist Field Service (Canada), ULC (“Lonquist”). The survey will target gaps in existing gravity coverage and areas of exploration interest across the Project, including areas west of the Cloverleaf target and within the eastern block. Planned stations include traverses along selected historical seismic lines, allowing the new gravity measurements to be evaluated alongside existing seismic interpretations. Field acquisition is estimated to require approximately 22 working days, with final station locations and timing subject to access, weather and ground conditions, and completion of contractor arrangements.

The Mineral Lands Division of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Energy and Mines approved the proposed geophysical survey program through Letter of Acceptance E260510, dated October 16, 2026. The survey will be conducted in accordance with the letter’s conditions, including in regard to environmental protection and archaeological requirements.

The Company aims to compare the new measurements with the Project’s historical airborne gravity-gradiometry data to assess consistency between the datasets, with the goal of improving confidence in the subsurface interpretation. The Company is planning to subsequently complete a modelling program that would include three-dimensional gravity inversion and targeted two-dimensional modelling along key seismic profiles near potential drilling locations. This work is intended to refine the interpretation of prospective salt structures and support decisions on future exploration drilling.

“We now have a detailed survey plan that builds directly on the technical work completed at Robinsons River,” said Paul Sparkes, Chief Executive Officer of Vortex. “These additional measurements will help us better understand the priority target areas and make more informed decisions about where to focus the next phase of exploration.”

The program advances the ground gravity survey announced on September 3, 2026, and Lonquist’s engagement announced on September 14, 2026. Vortex will provide further updates as fieldwork progresses. Gravity interpretations are non-unique and require integration with geological and drilling information; gravity data alone cannot establish salt composition, thickness or continuity.

The company’s L-Series timing devices are designed to scale between COTS and traditional space-grade solutions, offering shorter lead times at competitive price points

CHANDLER, Ariz., Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Microchip Technology (Nasdaq: MCHP) today announces the expansion of its L-Series of timing devices with the launch of its LX-820 Radiation-Tolerant Quartz Oscillator, designed for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and other space applications. The L-Series portfolio provides satellite developers with a wide range of oscillator architectures to select from, each with varying frequency stability, phase noise, power and size, catering to different mission requirements.

The L-Series is positioned between commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) oscillators and traditional high-reliability space products, combining commercial- or military-grade components with production inspection, electrical and thermal analysis and hybrid manufacturing. The L-Series oscillators have passed Total Ionizing Dose (TID) and Single-Event Latchup (SEL) testing as complete, functioning devices, with radiation tolerance up to 50 krad and SEL testing to 40 MeV·cm²/mg. Additionally, most L-Series products also use swept quartz to reduce radiation-induced frequency drift. The L-Series OCXOs incorporate ruggedized construction and four-point crystal mounts designed to survive launch and the intended mission profile.

Designed to address two persistent challenges for satellite developers, the L-Series helps ease supply chain constraints while reducing budget pressure. Many timing solutions qualified for space environments have extended lead times and significant procurement costs. The L-Series is designed to provide a more accessible alternative, with many configurations available from stock or with lead times of less than 20 weeks. Additionally, the L-Series oscillators may lower overall program costs by reducing the need for the component pedigree, documentation requirements and inspection overhead that are typically associated with traditional high-reliability space-grade timing products.

“Satellite developers should not have to choose between dependable precision timing and the cost and schedule requirements of their mission,” said Randy Brudzinski, corporate vice president of Microchip’s frequency and time systems business unit. “Our L-Series oscillators bring together the performance, radiation tolerance and supply availability our customers need to confidently deploy their New Space applications using a precision timing solution that helps reduce both schedule and mission risk.”

The new LX-820 is available in a compact 3.2 mm × 2.5 mm surface-mount package and is designed to operate across a wide temperature range from -55°C to 125°C. The rugged device is engineered to meet MIL-PRF-55310 Level B and provides ±100 ppm performance. Additionally, the LX-820 supports CMOS output frequencies from 1.25 MHz to 135 MHz and low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) output frequencies from 100 MHz to 250 MHz.

Modern satellite systems rely on highly accurate timing references to support communications, navigation, Earth observation, mapping and emerging lunar missions. As these applications can have different timing requirements, Microchip’s L-Series encompasses crystal oscillators (XOs), temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs), oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) and a pulse-per-second (PPS) disciplined oscillator. These products allow developers to use compact XOs where size and broad frequency coverage are priorities, TCXOs where tighter temperature stability and lower power are needed, OCXOs for more demanding stability and phase-noise requirements, and a disciplined oscillator where PPS synchronization and holdovers are required.

Microchip offers an extensive portfolio of clock and timing systems, ranging from miniature component oscillators, to small plug-in timing server cards, to atomic clocks and multi-rack time scale systems. As a primary contributor to the world’s time, Microchip’s timing solutions are trusted, reliable and resilient. For more information, visit Microchip’s clock and timing solutions webpage.

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE: CRS) (the “Company”) today announced financial results for the fiscal first quarter ended September 30, 2026. For the quarter, the Company reported operating income of $196.4 million and earnings per diluted share of $3.25.

First Quarter Fiscal Year 2027 Highlights

  • Delivered $196.4 million of operating income, up 28 percent year-over-year and down 5 percent sequentially
  • Sequential performance reflects productivity improvements, mix management and benefits from pricing actions, offset by planned downtime for preventive maintenance activities
  • Generated Specialty Alloys Operations (“SAO”) segment operating income of $216.3 million, up 27 percent year-over-year and down 6 percent sequentially
  • Delivered adjusted operating margin of 37.7 percent in the SAO segment, up from 32.0 percent in the prior year first quarter and in line with 37.8 percent in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026
  • Strong bookings for Commercial Aerospace, led by aerospace structural and distribution sub-markets which saw bookings increase 23 percent sequentially and 49 percent year-over-year
  • Executed $133.9 million in share repurchases against repurchase programs; announced additional $1.0 billion share repurchase program in August 2026
  • Realized earnings per diluted share of $3.25 in the quarter
  • Generated $52.8 million of cash from operating activities

Outlook

  • For the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, anticipate between $192 million to $197 million in operating income
  • Maintain fiscal year 2027 operating income outlook in the range of $850 million to $880 million, representing a 21 percent to 25 percent increase over fiscal year 2026 operating income
  • Well positioned for continued growth beyond fiscal year 2027 with strong market demand for our broad portfolio of specialized solutions, ongoing productivity improvements, product mix optimization, and realization of pricing actions

“Carpenter Technology delivered another strong quarter, generating $196.4 million of operating income in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027,” said Tony R. Thene, Chairman, President and CEO of Carpenter Technology. “This was the most profitable first quarter in the Company’s history, up 28 percent over the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, establishing a strong foundation for the rest of the fiscal year. The results, driven by productivity improvements, mix management and the benefits of pricing actions, were impressive for a quarter with increased preventive maintenance activities. Specifically, the SAO segment delivered $216.3 million of operating income and adjusted operating margin of 37.7 percent in the quarter, both significant increases over the previous year first quarter.”

“Notably, in the current quarter we saw a step up in demand, especially in the commercial aerospace supply chain. Customers in the aerospace structural and distribution sub-markets have increasing confidence in the industry’s ability to ramp and our engine customers are increasing activity to support new builds and elevated MRO activity. As a result, we saw increased sequential bookings across the commercial aerospace sub-markets, with the aerospace structural and distribution sub-markets leading the way. Further, in the strong demand environment, pricing continues to strengthen across our business.”

“We maintain our recently communicated fiscal year 2027 operating income outlook of $850 million to $880 million and our fiscal year 2029 operating income target of $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion which reflects the accelerating demand environment, continued benefits of pricing actions and the expected contribution from our brownfield capacity expansion project.”

“In addition, we are currently working on specific actions and projects to exceed our operating income targets for fiscal year 2027 and fiscal year 2029. With macro trends so strong and accelerating, we see additional upside to demand, pricing opportunity and productivity improvement that could drive our operating income even higher.”

“Altogether, we believe we have a compelling value creation story. We are delivering record results today with strong operating margins and levers to expand margins further, we see accelerating demand across our key end-use markets, and we continue to benefit from pricing actions. As a result, we have a clear path to significant earnings growth over the next several years, and we are positioned to create substantial long-term value for our shareholders.”

Net sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 were $798.2 million, compared with $733.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, an increase of $64.5 million (or 9 percent). Net sales excluding surcharge were $634.8 million for the current quarter, an increase of $31.7 million (or 5 percent) from the same period a year ago.

Operating income for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 was $196.4 million compared to operating income of $153.3 million in the prior year period. Earnings per diluted share for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 was $3.25 compared to earnings of $2.43 per diluted share in the prior year first quarter.

Cash provided from operating activities in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 was $52.8 million, compared to $39.2 million in the same quarter last year. Free cash flow in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 was negative $24.8 million, compared to negative $3.4 million in the same quarter last year. The increase in operating cash flow in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 reflects higher earnings partially offset by changes in working capital, primarily inventory, compared to the same quarter last year. The unfavorable change in free cash flow reflects increased capital expenditures compared to the prior year period, namely from the brownfield expansion. Capital expenditures were $77.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 compared to $42.6 million in the same quarter last year.

During the quarter ended September 30, 2026, the Company purchased 241,924 shares of its common stock on the open market for an aggregate of $133.9 million. As of September 30, 2026, $985.0 million remains available for future purchases under the $1.0 billion share repurchase program authorized in August 2026.

Total liquidity, including cash and available revolver balance, was $658.6 million at the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. This consisted of $159.5 million of cash and $499.1 million of available borrowings under the Company’s Credit Facility.

The Company has two reportable segments, Specialty Alloys Operations (“SAO”) and Performance Engineered Products (“PEP”).

The SAO segment is comprised of Carpenter’s major premium alloy and stainless steel manufacturing operations. This includes operations performed at mills primarily in Reading and Latrobe, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas as well as South Carolina and Alabama.

The PEP segment is comprised of the Company’s differentiated operations. This segment includes the Dynamet titanium business, the Carpenter Additive business and the Latrobe and Mexico distribution businesses. The businesses in the PEP segment are managed with an entrepreneurial structure to promote flexibility and agility to quickly respond to market dynamics. It is our belief this model will ultimately drive overall revenue and profit growth.

Corporate costs are comprised of executive and director compensation, and other corporate facilities and administrative expenses not allocated to the segments. Also included are items that management considers not representative of ongoing operations and other specifically-identified income or expense items.

The service cost component of net pension expense, which represents the estimated cost of future pension liabilities earned associated with active employees, is included in the operating results of the business segments. The residual net pension expense is included in other income, net, and is comprised of the expected return on plan assets, interest costs on the projected benefit obligations of the plans, amortization of actuarial gains and losses and prior service costs.

Management believes that removing the impact of raw material surcharge from operating margin provides a more consistent basis for comparing results of operations from period to period, thereby permitting management to evaluate performance and investors to make decisions based on the ongoing operations of the Company. Management uses its results excluding this amount to evaluate its operating performance and to discuss its business with investment institutions, the Company’s board of directors and others.

Management believes that the presentation of free cash flow provides useful information to investors regarding our financial condition because it is a measure of cash generated which management evaluates for alternative uses. It is management’s current intention to use excess cash to fund investments in capital equipment, acquisition opportunities and consistent dividend payments. Additionally, we will discretionarily use excess cash for a share repurchase program up to $1.0 billion of our outstanding common stock. Free cash flow is not a U.S. GAAP financial measure and should not be considered in isolation of, or as a substitute for, cash flows calculated in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
