NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — via AINewsWire — SPARC AI Inc. (CSE: SPAI) (OTCQB: SPAIF) today announces its placement in an editorial published by AINewsWire (“AINW”), one of 75+ brands within the Dynamic Brand Portfolio@IBN (InvestorBrandNetwork), a specialized communications platform with a focus on financial news and content distribution for private and public companies and the investment community.

GPS can no longer be trusted. Lost-signal incidents jumped 220% between 2021 and 2024, and the trend is accelerating. The drone industry’s default fix — bolting more sensors, chips and software onto every aircraft — works one airframe at a time and stalls the moment a fleet grows past a handful.

SPARC AI Inc. takes the opposite approach. Its Overwatch Positioning Network moves positioning off the aircraft entirely: A drone sends the telemetry it already generates to SPARC AI’s servers and gets latitude, longitude and time back in under a second. No new hardware. No added weight. One network serving an entire fleet at once. In a defense, security and commercial drone market projected to exceed $100 billion over the next decade, that software-defined, per-device subscription model puts SPARC AI at the front of next-generation geolocation and targeting.

About SPARC AI Inc.

SPARC AI is a defense technology company solving one of the most critical challenges in modern autonomous systems: accurate navigation and targeting when GPS is unavailable. The company’s AI-powered platform transforms the low-cost inertial sensors already inside commercial drones into precision instruments without additional hardware, external signals, or complex integration. SPARC AI’s software-only approach makes GPS-denied capability for target acquisition and navigation accessible at the price point and scale that modern drone operations demand, from single platforms to fleets of thousands.

Protocol Submitted for IRB Review at a Leading Cancer Research Institution, Advancing the Study Toward Site Initiation

MIAMI, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MIRA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIRA) (“MIRA” or the “Company”), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing novel oral small-molecule therapeutics, today announced that, following review and comments from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Phase 2a protocol evaluating Ketamir-2 in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) has been submitted for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review at a leading cancer research institution.

MIRA incorporated the FDA’s feedback into the protocol and is targeting site initiation in the first quarter of 2027, subject to completion of IRB review and other routine site activation requirements. The study represents Ketamir-2’s first clinical evaluation in patients with CIPN and is designed to generate initial efficacy and dose-response data while further characterizing safety and tolerability.

“We are entering an important stage for Ketamir-2 as we prepare to evaluate the drug for the first time in patients with persistent CIPN,” said Erez Aminov, CEO of MIRA. “This marks the transition from establishing safety and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers to evaluating Ketamir-2’s potential therapeutic effect in patients.”

About the Phase 2a Study

The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, three-period crossover study will enroll adults with moderate-to-severe persistent CIPN. Participants will receive Ketamir-2 at 300 mg and 600 mg, as well as placebo, in a defined treatment sequence across three seven-day treatment periods separated by 13-day washout periods, allowing each participant to serve as their own control.

The study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, efficacy, and dose-response relationship of oral Ketamir-2, including its effect on post-chemotherapy neuropathic pain intensity. Additional assessments will evaluate CIPN-related symptoms and functional status, as well as potential central nervous system adverse effects.

The study builds on MIRA’s completed Phase 1 clinical program in healthy volunteers, in which Ketamir-2 demonstrated a favorable safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile, with no serious adverse events or dose-limiting toxicities reported. The Phase 2a study will be conducted under MIRA’s active Investigational New Drug (IND) application.

Addressing a Significant Unmet Need in Neuropathic Pain

CIPN is a painful and potentially persistent complication of certain commonly used chemotherapies that can continue long after cancer treatment has ended. Treatment options remain limited, and there are currently no FDA-approved therapies specifically indicated for CIPN. Existing treatment approaches offer limited options for managing painful CIPN, underscoring the need for new therapies specifically developed for this condition.

Ketamine has demonstrated analgesic activity in neuropathic pain through modulation of the NMDA receptor pathway, supporting the therapeutic relevance of this mechanism. However, its broader use as a chronic treatment can be constrained by intravenous administration, dissociative and other neuropsychiatric effects, monitoring requirements, and its Schedule III controlled-substance status.

Ketamir-2 is being developed as an oral NMDA receptor modulator designed to engage this therapeutically relevant pathway while potentially overcoming key limitations associated with ketamine. Ketamir-2 is orally administered; its Phase 1 pharmacokinetic profile supports once-daily dosing, and it is not classified as a controlled substance by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

“There is a strong scientific rationale for targeting NMDA receptor signaling in neuropathic pain,” said Itzchak Angel, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Advisor of MIRA. “Ketamine has provided important clinical validation of this pathway, but its properties can limit its practicality for chronic use. Ketamir-2 was designed as an oral NMDA receptor modulator with high selectivity and a differentiated pharmacologic profile, and we believe this Phase 2a study will provide an important first opportunity to determine whether this profile can translate into meaningful pain reduction in patients with persistent CIPN.”

While CIPN is the initial patient population being evaluated in Phase 2a, MIRA believes that positive clinical evidence in CIPN could support the evaluation of Ketamir-2 across additional neuropathic pain conditions where NMDA receptor signaling may play a role. The Company views CIPN as a potential clinical entry point into the broader neuropathic pain market.

October Scientific Presentation and BioJapan Participation

MIRA expects to present Ketamir-2 at the International Conference on Addiction and Psychiatry in Tokyo, Japan, on October 5–6, 2026, where an abstract titled “An Oral Selective NMDA Modulator for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy—Phase 1 Safety, Pharmacokinetics, and Clinical Development Update” has been accepted for oral presentation by Dr. Itzchak Angel, MIRA’s Chief Scientific Advisor.

MIRA also expects to participate in BioJapan in October as the Company continues licensing and strategic partnership discussions around Ketamir-2 and its broader pipeline.

About Ketamir-2

Ketamir-2 is MIRA Pharmaceuticals’ proprietary oral NMDA receptor modulator in clinical development for neuropathic pain. The compound is designed to selectively modulate the NMDA receptor PCP binding site with low binding affinity and limited off-target receptor activity.

MIRA holds exclusive worldwide rights to Ketamir-2 and is pursuing intellectual property protection across major global pharmaceutical markets.

About MIRA Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

MIRA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIRA) is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing novel oral small-molecule therapeutics. The Company’s pipeline includes Ketamir-2 for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), which has completed Phase 1 and is advancing toward Phase 2a under an active IND; MIRA-55, an investigational oral drug candidate for inflammatory pain; and SKNY-1, an investigational oral drug candidate for obesity. Following scientific review, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has determined that Ketamir-2, MIRA-55, and SKNY-1 are not classified as controlled substances.

Year-to-date console sales exceed full-year console sales in seven of the past 10 years, putting Nuwellis on pace for one of its strongest years in console placements

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nuwellis, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUWE), a medical technology company committed to delivering solutions for patients with cardiorenal conditions, today announced continued commercial momentum for its Aquadex SmartFlow® system, with 31 consoles sold year-to-date in 2026. The Company’s year-to-date console performance already exceeds full-year console sales in seven of the past 10 years and puts Nuwellis on pace for one of its top three years for console sales. The expanding installed base comes alongside broader commercial momentum, including 26% year-over-year U.S. revenue growth during the first half of 2026.

“Selling 31 consoles at this point in the year is an important indicator of the commercial progress we are making to expand our installed base of Aquadex systems,” said Mike McCormick, Nuwellis President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are particularly encouraged by our year-to-date performance in that it is being driven by hospitals that recognize the level of patient care associated with Aquadex. This shows that they are making the informed, deliberate decision to incorporate Aquadex into their fluid-management programs.”

Each additional Aquadex console expands the Company’s installed base and creates opportunities for recurring utilization of the Company’s single-use blood circuits. The Aquadex SmartFlow system consists of a console, catheter, and disposable blood circuit set used to provide controlled ultrafiltration therapy. As the installed base expands and utilization increases, Nuwellis believes console placements can support continued growth in recurring consumable revenue.

Notably, the Company’s highest historical console-placement years included the COVID-19 period, when hospitals expanded access to fluid-removal technologies in response to extraordinary critical-care demand. Nuwellis’ 2026 performance is being achieved in a normalized hospital environment and reflects continued adoption of Aquadex in the U.S. across the Company’s core pediatric, critical-care, and heart-failure markets.

The 2026 console momentum builds upon Nuwellis’ broader commercial performance. During the first half of 2026, the Company reported U.S. revenue growth of 26% compared with the prior-year period, with growth across pediatrics, critical care, and heart failure. The Company believes the combination of an expanding installed base, increasing consumable utilization, and continued commercial execution positions the Company to build a larger and more durable recurring-revenue business.

McCormick continued, “Our objective is to build productive Aquadex programs where clinicians use the technology to treat patients effectively when diuretics fail. Expanding the installed base creates the foundation for increasing utilization, recurring circuit revenue and broader adoption of Aquadex therapy.”

About Nuwellis
Nuwellis, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUWE) is a medical technology company committed to delivering solutions for patients with cardiorenal conditions. The Company develops solutions designed to support patient care through monitoring, therapy, and data-informed clinical decision-making across acute and chronic care settings. Nuwellis’ strategy includes expanding its portfolio through internally developed technologies and strategic commercial partnerships that broaden its presence across acute and chronic critical care. About the HOPE-3 Study

HOPE-3 is a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluating Deramiocel in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The study enrolled 106 patients, randomized to receive Deramiocel or placebo administered intravenously every three months over a 12-month treatment period. HOPE-3 met its primary endpoint, with Deramiocel slowing decline in upper limb function by 54 percent versus placebo as measured by Performance of the Upper Limb (PUL) version 2.0 (p=0.03). One-year results were published in The Lancet in July 2026. Patients who completed the randomized portion of the study were eligible to continue receiving Deramiocel in an open-label extension.

About Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe, X-linked genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration affecting the skeletal, respiratory, and cardiac muscles. It is caused by the absence of functional dystrophin, a key structural protein in muscle cells. DMD affects approximately 15,000 individuals in the United States and primarily impacts boys. Over time, deterioration of the heart muscle leads to cardiomyopathy and heart failure, the leading cause of death in DMD. There is no cure, and treatment options remain limited.

About Deramiocel

Deramiocel (CAP-1002) consists of allogeneic cardiosphere-derived cells (CDCs), a rare population of cardiac cells that have been shown in preclinical and clinical studies to exert immunomodulatory and anti-fibrotic actions in the preservation of skeletal and cardiac muscle function in muscular dystrophies such as DMD. CDCs act by secreting extracellular vesicles known as exosomes, which target macrophages and alter their expression profile to adopt a healing rather than pro-inflammatory phenotype. For the treatment of DMD, Deramiocel holds Orphan Drug, RMAT and Rare Pediatric Disease designations in the U.S., and Orphan Drug and ATMP designations in Europe. The Rare Pediatric Disease designation may qualify Capricor for a Priority Review Voucher upon approval.

About Capricor Therapeutics

Capricor Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CAPR) is a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing cell and exosome-based therapeutics for the treatment of rare diseases. Our lead product candidate, Deramiocel, is an allogeneic cardiac-derived cell therapy in late-stage development for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), evaluated in clinical studies for its potential to preserve skeletal and cardiac muscle function. Capricor is also advancing its proprietary StealthX™ exosome platform for the targeted delivery of oligonucleotides, proteins, and small-molecule therapeutics across a range of diseases. Agreement Reserves Approximately $53 Million of Pendergrass Manufacturing Capacity for Northern Ontario Edge AI Data Center Projects

Represents First Commercial Capacity Reservation Under Previously Announced Approximately $200 Million Utility-Scale Framework

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NeoVolta Inc. (NASDAQ: NEOV) (“NeoVolta” or the “Company”), a U.S.-based energy technology company delivering scalable energy storage solutions, today announced that its majority-owned subsidiary, NeoVolta Power, LLC (“NeoVolta Power”), has entered into a binding capacity reservation agreement with Infinite Grid Capital (“IGC”) to provide battery energy storage system (“BESS”) equipment for North Ontario Edge artificial intelligence datacenter (“Edge AIDC”) projects for calendar year 2027.

Today’s announcement represents the first major commercial commitment under NeoVolta Power’s previously announced utility-scale framework with IGC, which contemplates approximately 1.1 GWh of potential BESS deployments and approximately $200 million of potential supply across multiple markets. The approximately $53M binding commitment advances the Company’s strategy of converting early utility-scale demand visibility into binding commercial relationships as its Pendergrass manufacturing platform progresses through commissioning and production-ramp activities.

“This is an important commercial milestone for NeoVolta Power and a meaningful validation of the platform we have built at Pendergrass,” said Ardes Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of NeoVolta. “The project demonstrates how our BESS manufacturing, a differentiated supply-chain strategy, and scalable energy-storage products can address the rapidly growing power-infrastructure needs of data centers and other energy-intensive customers. As we advance the production ramp at Pendergrass, our focus is on executing this initial commitment and converting additional qualified demand into binding customer orders.”

Utility-Scale Demand Validation

The capacity reservation agreement is intended to support the Northern Ontario Edge AIDC project and represents an initial commercial step within NeoVolta’s broader relationship with IGC. The relationship was previously announced as a non-binding framework spanning approximately 1.1 GWh of potential demand.

The Company believes the initial data-center-related commitment is strategically significant. Growth in artificial intelligence and data-center infrastructure is increasing the need for reliable, scalable power solutions, and BESS is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting grid reliability, load management, and project-level energy resilience. The commitment provides commercial validation for NeoVolta Power’s utility-scale product offering and its domestic BESS manufacturing strategy.

Pendergrass Grand Opening

NeoVolta will host a grand-opening ceremony for its NeoVolta Power facility in Pendergrass, Georgia, later today. Members of NeoVolta management, key strategic partners, media, and local officials are expected to attend.

The event marks the official opening of the Company’s 210,600-square-foot facility, a purpose-built domestic BESS manufacturing platform designed to assemble commercial, industrial, and utility-scale energy-storage products. The Company’s initial Pendergrass production line is advancing through commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing, and the production ramp remains on track for the fourth quarter of calendar 2026.

NeoVolta expects to provide additional updates regarding the commissioning process, manufacturing milestones, and commercial activity as appropriate.
