PensionBee study suggests alarming AI personal finance trend
PensionBee study suggests alarming AI personal finance trend

NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nearly six in ten (57%) Americans who seek money advice from chatbots would act on its guidance without checking it, according to PensionBee.

The survey of 1,000 US adults who use AI chatbots for personal finance suggests this includes decisions that are hard to undo, like how to invest or when to retire. Nearly one in four (23%) say a chatbot has already given them wrong information about their money, and 5% found out only after they had acted on it.

Click here for more information: https://www.pensionbee.com/us/research-and-insights/2026-ai-and-your-money-report

Older Americans are the least likely to think they’ve been misled. 82% of Baby Boomers who use AI for financial questions say a chatbot has never given them information that was wrong or unsuitable, the highest share of any generation.

Independent research has found AI search tools incorrectly cite or attribute news sources more than 60% of the time. Sharper questions tend to produce better answers, but knowing what to ask depends on financial literacy, which has fallen to a record low in the US.

Which financial decisions are Americans handing to AI?

Higher stakes decisions, meaning ones that may not be reversible.

  • 18% would go ahead with an investment allocation the chatbot suggested.
  • 16% would go ahead with a major purchase.
  • 15% would go ahead with a retirement age the chatbot suggested.

Lower stakes decisions, meaning ones that carry limited cost.

  • 35% would go ahead with how much to save each month.
  • 26% would go ahead with canceling certain subscriptions.
  • 22% would go ahead with paying off debts in a certain order.

Despite 53% of chatbot users reporting “moderate or extreme” privacy concerns, many still trade personal details for a better answer:

  • 32% shared monthly spending or budget details.
  • 29% shared income or salary.
  • 17% shared account balances.
  • 8% shared bank or credit card statements, uploaded or pasted.
  • 4% shared account numbers or credit card numbers.
  • 3% shared a passport number, driver’s license number, or Social Security number.

Younger generations are more likely to trust AI with personal information than older users and more likely to feel comfortable letting it act without checking the outcome. 66% of Gen Z would let AI act autonomously on their behalf, compared to 62% of Millennials, 56% of Gen X, and 47% of Baby Boomers.

“AI expands access to financial knowledge and that can be a genuine gain,” said Romi Savova, CEO of PensionBee. “But it is not without risk. A chatbot may give you one clean answer to a nuanced question, whether or not it fits your life. Retirement decisions are harder to take back, so they deserve a second look before you act.”

Methodology:

This survey was conducted online among 1,000 U.S. adults aged 18 and older, all of whom self-reported using an AI chatbot for help with their personal finances. All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from Attest. Fieldwork ran July 18–21, 2026. The sample was non-probability-based and employed demographic quotas for age, gender, and region.

Voluntary Participation: Participation in the survey was voluntary. Respondents were free to decline participation or skip any questions they chose not to answer. Participants were not required to be PensionBee clients to participate.

Concentrix commissions Everest Group to study driving AI value from transforming operating models, not simply automating work

NEWARK, Calif., Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Concentrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CNXC), a global technology and services leader, today announced findings of an independent market study, conducted by industry analyst firm, Everest Group. The report explores the operating models that successful businesses will use to orchestrate people, AI, data, and technology to deliver better business and customer outcomes.

Reinvent or Evolve: Intelligent Operating Models Shaping AI-Enabled Customer Journeys, discusses that while many enterprises have adopted AI, most could achieve better outcomes by maximizing AI as a key enabler of a broader operating strategy.

This report demonstrates that organizations need to redesign their operating model purposely for AI, with two core paths to maximize competitive advantage: Evolution, where AI makes human-led operations smarter and more efficient through human & AI collaboration, and Reinvention, which sees a wholesale redesign around a native AI and agentic operating environment. Currently, only about 16% of enterprises expect AI to autonomously lead most customer interactions next year.

Based on research independently conducted across enterprise decision-makers, the report finds the biggest barrier to AI success isn’t the AI itself, it’s the ability to establish governance, and orchestrate execution across functions, technologies, and teams at scale.

“The conversation around AI often focuses on technology adoption, but the bigger challenge is operating model transformation,” said Sharang Sharma, Vice President, Everest Group. “As enterprises move toward AI-enabled customer journeys, they need partners that can create a clear framework for governance, accountability and execution. Success will depend less on deploying AI tools and more on creating the organizational readiness to scale them effectively across the business.”

“The biggest opportunity organizations have with AI isn’t to automate what’s already there. It’s to create entirely new ways of delivering value,” said Chris Caldwell, President & CEO of Concentrix. “The organizations seeing the strongest results are redesigning customer experiences, embedding AI into the flow of work, and combining human expertise with intelligent technology to achieve better business outcomes. That’s where the next generation of competitive advantage will emerge.”

The report found that organizations are moving beyond AI as a standalone tool, to reshaping customer experiences through operating model redesign. For example, a leading retailer was able to deliver responses 31% faster with Agentic AI, creating a scalable path to lower cost-to-serve.

As AI moves from experimentation to enterprise scale, businesses need partners that can orchestrate strategy, consulting, technology, and operations into a united ecosystem. Through its proprietary iX Suite, Concentrix helps clients unite people, technology, data, and operations to evolve existing journeys and enable AI-native experiences.

New Filing Seeks Broad Protection Around Creative Medical’s Cell-Free Regenerative Platform, Including Product Composition, Functional Potency, Manufacturing Controls and Additional Therapeutic Applications

PHOENIX, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Creative Medical Technology Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELZ) (“Creative Medical” or the “Company”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company advancing regenerative medicine solutions, today announced the filing of a new U.S. provisional patent application designed to expand intellectual property protection surrounding Ultrasome™, the Company’s proprietary cell-free regenerative medicine platform.

The newly filed application builds upon Creative Medical’s existing regenerative medicine intellectual property and seeks protection across multiple aspects of the Ultrasome platform, including proprietary product composition, biological potency, manufacturing and quality-control methodologies, stability characteristics, delivery approaches and therapeutic applications.

The filing is intended to strengthen the Company’s long-term intellectual property position as Creative Medical advances Ultrasome beyond its initial osteoarthritis program and evaluates the platform’s potential across additional areas of regenerative medicine.

“As our understanding of the Ultrasome platform continues to advance, we believe it is important to protect not only its therapeutic applications, but also the underlying product characteristics, biological activity and manufacturing framework that distinguish the platform,” said Timothy Warbington, President and Chief Executive Officer of Creative Medical Technology Holdings. “This filing represents another step in building a broad intellectual property estate around what we believe can become a highly scalable cell-free regenerative medicine platform.”

Building Intellectual Property Around Product Function, Not Simply Particle Identity

Creative Medical’s development strategy for Ultrasome incorporates both physical product characterization and biologically relevant functional testing designed to evaluate activity associated with tissue protection and regenerative signaling.

The newly filed provisional patent application seeks intellectual property protection around multiple aspects of this approach, including methods intended to characterize the biological activity and consistency of manufactured product.

Management believes that integrating product composition, functional potency and manufacturing control may provide important differentiation as the field of extracellular-vesicle and secretome-based therapeutics continues to evolve.

The patent application also includes intellectual property directed toward methods for evaluating changes in product biological activity that may not be reflected by particle measurements alone.

“A central component of our development strategy is establishing reproducible biological activity across manufactured product,” Warbington added. “We believe that connecting manufacturing, product characterization and functional performance is important both scientifically and strategically as we advance this platform.”

Builds on Previously Announced Ultrasome™ Knee Osteoarthritis Program

The new patent filing follows Creative Medical’s previously announced pilot study evaluating Ultrasome in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

As announced in April 2026, the study reported that approximately 93% of participants demonstrated clinically meaningful improvements in mobility and pain, and no serious adverse events were reported.

The Company continues to view osteoarthritis as an important initial application for Ultrasome while exploring the broader potential of the platform across regenerative medicine.

The new provisional filing includes intellectual property intended to preserve development flexibility for musculoskeletal and cartilage disorders as well as selected clinical applications. These additional applications remain in various stages of research and development and should not be interpreted as evidence of clinical efficacy or regulatory approval in those indications.

Extending a GMP-Based Regenerative Medicine Platform

Ultrasome is being developed from Creative Medical’s proprietary Olastrocel™ regenerative medicine platform.

The underlying cellular source is derived from an independently validated Good Manufacturing Practice master cell bank, with manufacturing and quality information maintained within a U.S. Food and Drug Administration Drug Master File.

A Drug Master File is a confidential regulatory submission containing manufacturing and quality information and does not itself constitute FDA approval, clearance or authorization of a therapeutic product.

Creative Medical believes the ability to leverage a controlled cellular starting material across both cell-based and cell-free programs may support future manufacturing scalability, product consistency and expansion of its regenerative medicine pipeline.

Expanding Creative Medical’s Intellectual Property Portfolio

The new application is part of Creative Medical’s strategy of building intellectual property protection around multiple layers of its regenerative medicine technologies, including:

  • proprietary cell-free compositions;
  • functional biological characteristics;
  • manufacturing and quality-control methodologies;
  • stability and product-release approaches;
  • targeted delivery methods; and
  • therapeutic applications across selected regenerative medicine indications.

As a provisional patent application, the filing establishes an initial U.S. priority date for the disclosed subject matter and provides the Company with the opportunity to pursue U.S. and international patent protection through subsequent filings.

The provisional application has not been examined by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and there can be no assurance regarding the scope or issuance of any future patent claims.

Strategic Focus

Creative Medical intends to continue advancing its intellectual property portfolio in parallel with its clinical and translational development programs.

Management believes a combination of clinical development, proprietary manufacturing, functional product characterization and intellectual property protection may create multiple opportunities for future platform development, strategic collaboration and value creation.

“Our goal is to build durable value around the science,” Warbington concluded. “We believe the combination of our clinical-stage regenerative platform, expanding cell-free programs and growing intellectual property portfolio positions Creative Medical to pursue multiple high-value opportunities while maintaining disciplined development of our core programs.”

About Ultrasome™

Ultrasome™ is Creative Medical Technology Holdings’ proprietary cell-free regenerative medicine platform derived from the Company’s umbilical cord tissue technology. The platform is being developed to deliver biologically active regenerative signals through scalable, off-the-shelf formulations for potential use across selected degenerative and regenerative medicine applications.

Ultrasome’s initial clinical development has focused on osteoarthritis of the knee.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Surgery Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGRY) (“Surgery Partners” or the “Company”), a leading short-stay surgical facility owner and operator, today announced it has completed the previously announced sale of its ownership interests in its Idaho Falls facilities to Intermountain Health.

Under the terms of the Securities Purchase Agreements, Surgery Partners received $797 million in gross proceeds and $587 million in net cash proceeds at closing, subject to customary post-closing adjustments. The transaction includes Mountain View Hospital and Idaho Falls Community Hospital (together, referred to as Idaho Falls Facilities). Under Intermountain Health leadership, physician ownership of Mountain View Hospital will remain unchanged.

“With the completion of this important transaction, Surgery Partners enters a new chapter better positioned for long-term growth as a pure-play short-stay surgical provider,” said Eric Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Surgery Partners. “As we recently disclosed in our second quarter earnings call, our core business is delivering strong results, with same facility revenue growth driven by our continued focus on higher-acuity procedures and a differentiated operating platform. Our updated full-year 2026 outlook underscores the benefit of our portfolio optimization actions, with this transaction expected to be accretive to adjusted earnings growth on an annual basis, in addition to reducing our balance sheet leverage and improving free cash flow conversion. We are encouraged by our recent momentum and remain confident in our long-term strategy and ability to deliver sustained value for stockholders.”

Financial Highlights

  • The transaction values the combined Idaho Falls Facilities at approximately $1.15 billion, with total consideration to Surgery Partners of approximately $797 million of gross proceeds and $587 million of net cash proceeds.
  • Transaction proceeds represent an approximately 7x multiple based on the Idaho Falls Facilities’ last 12 months adjusted EBITDA performance (through June 30, 2026), and an approximately 17x multiple based on average distributions received from Idaho Falls over the past three years.
  • Balance sheet leverage, as calculated under the Company’s credit agreement, is expected to improve by 30bps, from 4.4x at the end of Q2 2026.
  • Transaction proceeds will be used primarily to pay down debt.

Operational Highlights

This transaction significantly streamlines Surgery Partners’ business and portfolio. Excluding the Idaho Falls Facilities, the Company expects:

  • 50% reduction in Medicaid payor mix, with new annualized mix expected to be under 2% of revenue.
  • 100% elimination of neonatology and obstetrics service lines.
  • 50% reduction in intensive care beds and majority reduction in total emergency department visits.
  • 75% reduction in non-surgical admissions.
  • 100% elimination of inpatient pediatrics businesses.
  • 100% reduction in retail and compounding pharmacy service lines.

Updated 2026 Guidance

  • Full-year 2026 revenue guidance is in the range of $3.08 billion to $3.18 billion and Adjusted EBITDA guidance is at least $489 million, reflecting the removal of the Idaho Falls Facilities’ contribution for the remaining portion of the year.
  • On a pro forma basis, excluding the Idaho Falls Facilities for the full-year 2026, revenue guidance is in the range of $2.60 billion to $2.67 billion and Adjusted EBITDA guidance is at least $414 million.
