ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — FREELANDER held its Global Brand Launch at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi on 29 September 2026, opening a new chapter in its international development. Eight distinguished guests bearing the title of His Excellency attended, alongside government representatives, business partners and media. Charlie Zhang, Executive Vice President of Chery International, addressed the event, reaffirming Chery Group’s long-term commitment to FREELANDER and its determination to deepen its presence in the Middle East while expanding internationally.

FREELANDER 8’s first international unveiling in Abu Dhabi

Guests included His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; His Excellency Rashed Al Blooshi, CEO of the ADGM Registration Authority; and Mohamed Ali Al Kamali, Chief Trade and Industry Officer of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). The attendance of senior government and institutional representatives reflected strong interest in FREELANDER’s international development and the foundations for continued engagement between the brand and Abu Dhabi.

Chery Group’s international track record provides a strong foundation for this new chapter. In 2025, the Group exported 1.344 million vehicles, retaining its position as the leading passenger vehicle exporter among Chinese brands for the 23rd consecutive year. In the UK, around two years after beginning the rollout of its brands in 2024, the Group topped the monthly new-car sales rankings in August 2026 on a combined-brand basis. This international experience and global reach will support FREELANDER’s long-term development.

Speaking at the launch, Charlie Zhang reinforced the Group’s commitment to the brand: “We greatly value our partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and our shared ambition for FREELANDER. It is a British brand empowered by Chery’s technology and global capabilities, with its own identity and direction. Chery Group is committed to investing in its long-term development. Together, we aim to set a new benchmark for premium brands.”

Combining Jaguar Land Rover’s design expertise with Chery’s advanced technology, global supply chain and international operating capabilities, FREELANDER is building a foundation spanning product development, manufacturing and global operations. British design heritage, intelligent technology and all-terrain capability are central to the distinctive value the brand aims to bring to customers worldwide.

Abu Dhabi is an important starting point for this international journey. “Abu Dhabi also holds an important place in Chery’s long-term development in the region,” Zhang said. Hosting FREELANDER’s Global Brand Launch in the UAE capital underlined the Group’s commitment to the local market and its ambition to build a lasting presence in the Middle East as it expands internationally.

Lucia Mao, CEO of FREELANDER International, also thanked ADIO for its support. In her remarks, she recalled how, ahead of the launch, FREELANDER had engaged with guests and partners from the Middle East with ADIO’s support—during the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum at The Peninsula Shanghai in June, and at Goodwood in the UK in July. These meetings provided opportunities to share the brand’s vision and listen to expectations for FREELANDER.

From Shanghai to Goodwood and on to Abu Dhabi, FREELANDER’s continued engagement with ADIO has helped the brand build connections with government representatives, business partners and the media. The Global Brand Launch marked both a continuation of that dialogue and an important step in putting its international ambitions into practice.

FREELANDER has established dealer partnerships with Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors in the UAE, laying the foundations for its local sales and service network. Backed by Chery Group’s long-term investment and the support of Abu Dhabi’s government, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and local business partners, FREELANDER will pursue a phased international expansion from its strategic starting point in the Middle East, working towards its ambition to set a new benchmark for premium brands.

– ABI-6250’s pharmacodynamic analysis was recognized as a Poster of Distinction –

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Assembly Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASMB), a biotechnology company developing innovative therapeutics targeting serious viral and liver diseases, today announced that two posters featuring new Phase 1a data from its ABI-6250 program will be presented at The Liver Meeting® 2026, the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), taking place November 5-9, 2026, in Denver, Colorado.

“The Phase 1a findings support ABI-6250’s safety profile and demonstrate potent target engagement, and we are pleased the pharmacodynamic analysis was recognized as a Poster of Distinction,” said Anuj Gaggar, M.D., Ph.D., chief medical officer of Assembly Bio. “We look forward to sharing these results with the hepatology community as we prepare to advance ABI-6250 into Phase 2 studies in both chronic HDV infection and cholestatic liver diseases.”

The presentations will include safety, tolerability and pharmacodynamic findings from the randomized, blinded Phase 1a study of ABI-6250 in healthy participants. ABI-6250 was well tolerated at the doses evaluated, with no serious adverse events reported, and demonstrated dose-dependent, reversible increases in total and conjugated bile acids consistent with sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide (NTCP) target engagement. The Phase 1a findings support Assembly Bio’s plans to initiate Phase 2 studies in patients with chronic hepatitis delta virus (HDV) infection in the fourth quarter of 2026 and in patients with cholestatic liver diseases, focused on primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), in the first quarter of 2027.

Details of the presentations are as follows:

Poster of Distinction Title: Oral NTCP Inhibitor ABI-6250 Elevates Bile Acids in a Randomized, Blinded, Phase 1a Study in Healthy Subjects
Presenter: Edward J. Gane, MD, FAASLD, University of Auckland
Publication Number: 3197

  • Session: Hepatitis – Other Infections
  • Date and Time: November 7, 2026; 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. MT

Poster Title: The Safety and Tolerability of ABI-6250, an Orally Administered NTCP Inhibitor in Healthy Participants
Presenter: Edward J. Gane, MD, FAASLD, University of Auckland
Publication Number: 3204

  • Session: Hepatitis – Other Infections
  • Date and Time: November 7, 2026; 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. MT

Assembly Bio intends to make the posters available on the “Events & Presentations” page in the “Investors” section and on the “Publications” page in the “Pipeline” section of its website at www.assemblybio.com.

About ABI-6250
ABI-6250 is an investigational oral small-molecule inhibitor of the sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide (NTCP), a membrane protein selectively expressed on hepatocytes that facilitates bile acid transport into cells and also serves as the receptor for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis delta virus (HDV) to enter hepatocytes. Assembly Bio is developing ABI-6250 for the treatment of chronic HDV infection, where the targeting of NTCP blocks viral infection and is a clinically validated mechanism. ABI-6250 is also being evaluated in cholestatic liver diseases, such as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), where bile acid accumulation in the liver drives liver inflammation and liver injury. The targeting of NTCP by ABI-6250 blocks the uptake of bile acids into liver cells.

About Assembly Biosciences
Assembly Biosciences is a biotechnology company developing innovative small-molecule therapeutics aimed at advancing the treatment paradigm of serious viral and liver diseases and improving the lives of patients worldwide. Led by an accomplished leadership team in antiviral and liver disease drug development, Assembly Bio is committed to improving outcomes for people living with the chronic impacts of herpesvirus, hepatitis delta virus (HDV) infections, cholestatic liver diseases and hepatitis B virus (HBV). Founded in 2016, Alpha Tau is an Israeli oncology therapeutics company that focuses on research, development, and potential commercialization of the Alpha DaRT for the treatment of solid tumors. The technology was initially developed by Prof. Itzhak Kelson and Prof. Yona Keisari from Tel Aviv University.

About Alpha DaRT®

Alpha DaRT (Diffusing Alpha-emitters Radiation Therapy) is designed to enable highly potent and conformal alpha-irradiation of solid tumors by intratumoral delivery of radium-224 impregnated sources. When the radium decays, its short-lived daughters are released from the sources and disperse while emitting high-energy alpha particles with the goal of destroying the tumor. Since the alpha-emitting atoms diffuse only a short distance, Alpha DaRT aims to mainly affect the tumor, and to spare the healthy tissue around it.

As Strategic Advisor to AIBotics, he is expected to work with Chief Executive Officer Ben Kaplan and the Company on strategic growth, capital-markets strategy, corporate development, international partnerships and the identification of opportunities across AI, robotics, autonomous systems and related technologies.

Tsang is Chairman of Tsang Group, a fourth-generation single family office with interests across technology, real estate and natural resources. Over more than two decades, he has worked across international investment, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development and emerging technology, building relationships across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. He is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Empulser, the defense and dual-use technology platform that AIBotics has agreed to acquire.

A Public-Market Track Record

Under Patrick Tsang’s leadership, an early-stage investment was made in Pulse Evolution Group in 2018, alongside a strategic advisory role. Pulse subsequently became part of FaceBank Group, which completed its merger with fuboTV in 2020, culminating in fuboTV trading on the New York Stock Exchange during the Covid period.

Empulser: Defense, Autonomy and the Infrastructure Behind Intelligent Machines

Empulser is focused on building a U.S. defense and dual-use technology platform around wireless power and autonomous systems. Its development strategy centers on technologies intended to address a fundamental challenge facing unmanned platforms: extending operational endurance while reducing dependence on manual charging and support infrastructure. Empulser’s broader vision includes wireless power transfer, autonomous aerial and ground systems, AI-enabled mission functionality and infrastructure designed to support unmanned operations across defense, government, critical-infrastructure and commercial environments.

Empulser remains in a development and commercialization phase. Future technology, product, testing, certification, customer and revenue milestones will be announced only as they are achieved and can be substantiated. AIBotics and Empulser intend to build public communications around documented execution rather than projected milestones.

Transaction Overview

Under the Exchange Agreement, AIBotics will acquire 100% of the issued and outstanding membership interests of Empulser from the Empulser Members in exchange for up to 2,200,000 shares of a newly designated Series C Preferred Stock having an aggregate stated value of up to $22.0 million. The Certificate of Designation provides for an original issue price of $10.00 per share. Of the total acquisition consideration, 220,000 shares, representing 10%, are allocated to the closing and 198,000, representing 9%, shares are allocated to each of ten separate earn-out milestones.

The earn-out period begins at closing and continues for 36 months. The milestones cover specified patent filings and issuances, product demonstration and flight testing, acceptance into a formal test, evaluation or pilot program, and achievement of $500,000 in cumulative recognized revenue. Shares tied to a milestone are earned only if that milestone is achieved during the earn-out period; unearned milestone shares will cease to be issuable or will be forfeited and cancelled, as applicable under the Exchange Agreement.

The Series C Preferred Stock pays no dividends and generally has no voting rights except as provided in the Certificate of Designation or required by law. Each share is convertible at the holder’s option into AIBotics common stock under the formula set forth in the Certificate of Designation. The initial conversion price will equal the closing price of AIBotics common stock on its principal market on the trading day immediately preceding the transaction closing, subject to specified adjustments. Conversion is subject to certain beneficial-ownership limitations, subject to the notice and waiver provisions described in the Certificate of Designation.

AIBotics may, in its sole discretion, advance up to $2.0 million to Empulser before closing for expenditures under an approved budget. Any advances will be structured as loans secured by a first-priority security interest in all of Empulser’s assets and will be subject to the promissory note and related security documents to be negotiated.

Closing is subject to customary and transaction-specific conditions, including the transfer of 100% of Empulser’s membership interests, compliance with the parties’ covenants and representations, delivery by Empulser of audited financial statements for the periods required by Regulation S-X prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and AIBotics being current in its SEC and/or OTC Markets filing obligations and labeled “Current” on OTC Markets. The Exchange Agreement provides for termination in specified circumstances if the transaction has not closed within 90 days after October 2, 2026 or if applicable closing conditions have not been satisfied or waived by January 2, 2027. There can be no assurance that the transaction will close.

As disclosed in the Form 8-K, Tsang is to provide consulting and advisory services regarding AIBotics’ existing business for 90 days or until a chief executive officer agreement becomes effective. Subject to applicable law, a satisfactory background and eligibility review, approval by AIBotics’ Board of Directors in the exercise of its fiduciary duties, and execution of a satisfactory CEO agreement, AIBotics intends to appoint Tsang as Chief Executive Officer and a director effective upon closing of the Empulser acquisition.

The foregoing is a summary of selected transaction terms. Additional information regarding the Exchange Agreement, the Series C Preferred Stock, the closing conditions and the proposed transaction is contained in AIBotics’ Current Report on Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including the Exchange Agreement filed as Exhibit 10.1. The full agreement and filed disclosure should be reviewed for a complete description of the transaction.

Management Commentary

Ben Kaplan, Chief Executive Officer of AIBotics, said, “This is an important step in the evolution of AIBotics. Patrick brings a rare combination of global capital-markets experience, public-company transaction expertise, technology investing, corporate development and international relationships — and he has built Empulser around technologies that fit directly into where we believe AI and autonomous systems are heading. The definitive agreement gives us a potential foundation for building a much broader defense and dual-use technology platform. Patrick’s experience identifying emerging opportunities, attracting capital, developing strategic relationships and navigating public markets can be extremely valuable as we move into this next phase.”

Patrick Tsang said, “This transaction marks an important new chapter for Empulser. We believe the opportunity in autonomous systems is much broader than building another drone or robot. The real challenge is enabling intelligent machines to operate for longer, with greater resilience and less human intervention. Empulser is being built around that challenge — combining wireless power, autonomous systems and enabling technologies to increase the persistence and effectiveness of unmanned platforms. Working with Ben and the AIBotics team gives us a public-market platform from which to develop the technology, attract world-class partners and capital, and build a significant U.S. defense and dual-use technology company.”

During the pre-closing period, Tsang’s advisory role is expected to include strategic growth, capital formation, public-market strategy, corporate development, international partnerships and the evaluation of complementary emerging technologies and acquisition opportunities. As disclosed in the Form 8-K, following the closing of the acquisition of Empulser, AIBotics also intends, subject to the conditions described in the Exchange Agreement, to appoint Tsang as Chief Executive Officer and a director. The Company expects to provide additional updates as the Empulser transaction progresses and as material operating milestones are achieved.

Strategic connectivity relationship helps support resilient operations across Caesars Superdome and Saints facilities while enhancing the experience for fans, staff, partners and business stakeholders

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Uniti Fiber, a leading fiber infrastructure provider, and the New Orleans Saints today announced a partnership to provide scalable, high-capacity fiber connectivity supporting critical business operations, venue systems and connected experiences across the Saints organization, including periods of elevated demand.

As sports and entertainment venues increasingly depend on reliable, high-capacity networks to power everything from gameday operations to business applications, Uniti Fiber will help support connectivity across Caesars Superdome and other Saints facilities. The relationship is designed to strengthen operational resilience, improve continuity for critical systems and enable the connected experiences fans, employees, partners and guests expect on gameday and throughout the year.

“Reliable, high-performance connectivity is essential to every part of our organization, from providing our coaching staff and football operations personnel with the tools they need to supporting daily business functions and delivering the experience our fans expect on gameday,” said Jody Barbier, New Orleans Saints vice president of Information Technology. “In a business where preparation, precision and real-time communication are critical, having a first-class network is vital. Our partnership with Uniti Fiber strengthens that foundation and gives us the capacity and flexibility to meet our technology needs as they evolve.”

Fiber infrastructure provides the speed, capacity and reliability required to support the Saints’ technology ecosystem from secure business systems and point-of-sale activity to media workflows and real-time communications. Uniti Fiber’s scalable network helps create a resilient foundation for evolving operational needs and connected fan experiences.

“The Saints operate in an environment where dependable connectivity is critical every day, not only on gameday,” said Megan Meyer, regional vice president for Uniti Fiber. “We’re proud to bring our local fiber expertise and commitment to reliability to one of Louisiana’s most iconic organizations, helping provide the scalable foundation it needs to serve employees, partners and fans with confidence.”

The partnership builds on Uniti Fiber’s continued investment in Louisiana, where its high-capacity fiber network supports businesses, healthcare organizations, government entities and other operations that depend on reliable connectivity.

Beyond connectivity and operational excellence, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to the communities both organizations serve. The New Orleans Saints have long been leaders in supporting military members, veterans and their families throughout the Gulf South, and Uniti Fiber is proud to partner with organizations that invest in the people and communities that make Louisiana strong. Together, the organizations are helping strengthen connections not only through technology, but through a shared commitment to service, resilience and community impact across the region.

Through the partnership, the Saints and Uniti Fiber are establishing a resilient connectivity foundation designed to support evolving business operations, venue technology and connected experiences for years to come.
