Waterstone Edge handling final extension of U.S. trademark application as AIBotics continues development of its proprietary AI-powered wellness robot

MIAMI, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AIBotics, Inc. (OTCID: AIBT) (“AIBotics” or the “Company”), a global technology company building a platform around AI-enabled robotics, autonomous systems and intelligent automation, today announced that it has authorized Waterstone Edge to proceed with the final extension of its U.S. trademark application for PHILL ROBOT™, the Company’s proprietary AI-powered massage and wellness robotics platform.

The extension preserves the PHILL ROBOT™ trademark application through April 16, 2027, providing AIBotics additional time to complete the required Statement of Use and submit evidence demonstrating use of the PHILL ROBOT™ mark in U.S. commerce.

The U.S. trademark application covers massage apparatus, massage apparatus for massaging the entire body, and robotic massage apparatus. AIBotics’ PHILL ROBOT™ trademark application, U.S. Serial No. 97847341, was originally filed on March 20, 2023. AIBotics currently owns and controls the intellectual property associated with the PHILL platform.

“PHILL is more than a product name. It is a brand we intend to build around a new generation of AI-enabled wellness robotics,” said Ben Kaplan, CEO of AIBotics. “We recognize that bringing PHILL to market has taken longer than originally anticipated, and we have had several false starts along the way. However, the additional time has allowed us to refine the technology, evaluate manufacturing alternatives and better position PHILL for commercialization.”

Mr. Kaplan continued, “At the same time, the market for AI-powered robotics and personalized wellness solutions has continued to expand, potentially creating an even greater opportunity than when we first introduced PHILL. We believe the combination of a stronger product, growing market demand and protected intellectual property puts us in a better position to build long-term value for our shareholders. Protecting the PHILL ROBOT name is an important part of that strategy.”

PHILL ROBOT™ is being developed as an AI-powered robotic wellness platform designed to provide personalized, on-demand therapeutic touch for home, wellness, hospitality and recovery applications. The platform combines a foldable robotic arm with adaptive AI control, interchangeable massage functions and connected software designed to personalize the user experience. AIBotics has continued advancing PHILL through product development, real-world pilot activity and U.S.-based manufacturing initiatives.

PHILL previously attracted national media attention as an early entrant in AI-powered robotic massage. Fox News featured the technology in 2023, highlighting its ability to learn and remember user preferences and adapt massage sessions to individual needs.

AIBotics views intellectual property protection as an important component of its strategy for building long-term value around proprietary technologies and brands. A recognized trademark can become a significant business asset as a product moves into commercialization, supporting brand recognition, licensing, distribution relationships and the goodwill associated with a growing product platform.

The PHILL ROBOT™ trademark complements the intellectual property surrounding the robot’s design, functionality, software and underlying technology and is intended to help AIBotics establish and protect the PHILL identity as the platform advances toward broader commercialization.

New agreement with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi establishes a framework for research collaboration as two children receive investigational NEO100 and a third is expected this week.

DENVER, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — (247marketnews.com) — “I wish someone had told me about that company.”

That is a familiar reaction when a stock attracts attention after investors have spent months overlooking it. The harder task is recognizing a developing business story while the chart still gives the market reasons to look away.

NeOnc Technologies Holdings (Nasdaq: NTHI) is giving investors another development to examine. According today’s announcement, NeOnc signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to support research and clinical capability in oncology and central nervous system therapeutics.

24/7 Market News believes the announcement adds substance to a story that deserves a closer look: an investigational brain cancer platform with reported clinical data, expanding compassionate access and a broader framework for development in Abu Dhabi.

A Broader Research Framework in Abu Dhabi

Signed on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, the MoU covers scientific exchange, specialist training, clinical development expertise and the generation and exchange of real-world evidence concerning CNS tumors.

The proposed collaboration includes work on trial design, endpoint selection, response assessment, neuro-oncology imaging and molecular diagnostics. These are practical elements of developing the people, methods and evidence needed to evaluate investigational treatments.

The parties will also assess opportunities for clinical research involving NeOnc’s programs and explore a possible regional presence, including potential manufacturing, supply or distribution activities. The MoU is nonbinding and has a two-year term; specific clinical research and regional operating activities remain subject to separate agreements and applicable approvals.

In our view, the investor significance lies in the scope of that framework. If implemented, it could help NeOnc develop a more substantial base for clinical research and future regional activity.

Two Children Are Already Receiving Compassionate Care

The announcement also describes activity already underway. Two children in Abu Dhabi are receiving investigational NEO100 through NeOnc’s Compassionate Care program. A third child from India is expected to enter the program this week.

NeOnc is separately working to open a Phase 1 study of NEO100 in the Emirate. Its existing Abu Dhabi IND clearances support clinical research, with additional requirements, including separate Institutional Review Board approval, to be satisfied before trial enrollment.

“For families facing brain cancer, access to investigational treatments and clinical research opportunities matters deeply,” said Amir F. Heshmatpour, NeOnc’s Executive Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, in the announcement.

The update follows NeOnc’s October 16 report of early improvement in a critically ill three-year-old boy receiving compassionate-use NEO100 in Abu Dhabi. According to his treating physicians, the child was breathing independently and beginning to move his legs after treatment began. The company described these as early observations in one patient, without establishing that NEO100 caused the improvement.

For families facing an aggressive brain tumor, the importance of access to research and investigational care is deeply personal. That human purpose remains central to NeOnc’s development story.

Clinical Results Give Investors More to Evaluate

In August, NeOnc reported that its 24-patient, open-label Phase 2a study of intranasal NEO100 in recurrent or progressive IDH1-mutant high-grade glioma met its primary endpoint. Six-month progression-free survival was 48.9%, compared with the study’s pre-specified 20% benchmark.

The Abu Dhabi agreement adds a further development opportunity around a program that has already produced reported human clinical data.

Meanwhile, the reported NTHI short interest for September 30 totaled 757,739 shares.

If further studies support the early findings and the proposed collaboration leads to additional clinical development, we believe investors could have reason to reassess NeOnc’s potential.

The recent chart shows where NTHI has been. The next clinical results and development milestones will help determine where the company goes from here.

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Algoma Central Corporation (“Algoma”) (TSX:ALC) announced today that, due to strong demand, it has entered into a revised agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led by CIBC Capital Markets (collectively, the “Underwriters”) to increase the size of the previously announced offering. Under the revised agreement, the Underwriters have agreed to purchase $70,000,000 aggregate principal amount of 6.20% convertible unsecured subordinated debentures (the “Debentures”) at a price of $1,000 per Debenture (the “Public Offering”). Algoma has also granted the underwriters an over-allotment option to purchase up to an additional $10,500,000 aggregate principal amount of Debentures at the same price exercisable in whole or in part at any time for a period of 30 days following closing.

Concurrent with the increased Public Offering, Algoma and E-L Financial Corporation Limited (“E-L”) have also agreed to increase the size of the non-brokered private placement (the “Concurrent Private Placement”). Under the revised Concurrent Private Placement, Algoma has agreed to issue, on a non-brokered private placement basis, $20,000,000 aggregate principal amount of Debentures to E-L on the same terms as the Public Offering. The securities issued pursuant to the Concurrent Private Placement will be subject to a statutory hold period of four months and one day from the date of closing.

The Debentures will mature on December 31, 2031 and will bear interest at an annual rate of 6.20% payable semi-annually on June 30 and December 31 of each year, commencing June 30, 2027. At the holder’s option, the Debentures may be converted into common shares of Algoma (“Shares”) at any time prior to the close of business on the earlier of December 31, 2031 and the business day immediately preceding the date specified by Algoma for redemption of the Debentures. The conversion price will be $46.95 per Share (the “Conversion Price”), subject to adjustment in certain circumstances.

The Debentures will not be redeemable before December 31, 2029. On and after December 31, 2029 and prior to December 31, 2030, the Debentures may be redeemed in whole or in part from time to time at Algoma’s option, at par plus accrued and unpaid interest, provided that the volume weighted average trading price of the Shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange during the 20 consecutive trading days ending on the fifth trading day preceding the date on which the notice of the redemption is given is not less than 125% of the Conversion Price. On and after December 31, 2030 and prior to the maturity date, Algoma may, at its option, redeem the Debentures, in whole or in part, from time to time at par plus accrued and unpaid interest.

Algoma expects to use the net proceeds of the Public Offering and the Concurrent Private Placement to fund newbuild investments, mergers and acquisitions, and for general corporate purposes.

The Public Offering and the Concurrent Private Placement are expected to close on or about November 4, 2026 and are subject to certain conditions including, but not limited to, the receipt of all necessary approvals, including the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange. The closing of the Public Offering and the Concurrent Private Placement are contingent upon closing of the other.

A preliminary short-form prospectus will be filed by October 23, 2026 with the securities regulatory authorities in all provinces of Canada in connection with the Public Offering. The securities offered have not been and will not be registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from the registrations requirements of such Act. This press release shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy the securities in any jurisdiction.

EARLY WARNING DISCLOSURE

Assuming the Concurrent Private Placement closes, E-L will acquire beneficial ownership of and control or direction over $20,000,000 principal amount of Debentures pursuant to the Concurrent Private Placement.

Prior to the acquisition, E-L and other joint actors, beneficially owned or controlled 29,340,740 Shares. These Shares represented approximately 72.33% of Algoma’s issued and outstanding Shares on an undiluted basis.

Assuming the Concurrent Private Placement closes, E-L and other joint actors will beneficially own or control $20,000,000 principal amount of Debentures, that could be convertible into 425,985 Shares, and 29,340,740 Shares for a total beneficial ownership of 29,766,725 Shares, representing approximately 72.61% of Algoma’s issued and outstanding Shares on a partially diluted basis, assuming conversion of E-L’s Debentures into Shares.

On an as adjusted basis taking into account a previous share split undertaken by Algoma and assuming the Concurrent Private Placement closes, this would result in E-L and other joint actors having beneficially acquired more than 2% of the currently outstanding Shares of Algoma on a partially diluted basis since E-L’s previously filed early warning report and therefore triggering the requirement to make this disclosure.

The Debentures were acquired by E-L for investment purposes. E-L and joint actors may acquire additional securities of Algoma or may sell securities of Algoma, in the future depending on market conditions, reformulation of plans and/or other relevant factors.

This news release is being issued pursuant to National Instrument 62-103 – The Early Warning System and Related Take-Over Bid and Insider Reporting Issues, which requires an early warning report to be filed under Algoma’s profile on SEDAR+ at www.sedarplus.ca containing additional information with respect to the foregoing matters. A copy of E-L’s early warning report will appear on Algoma’s issuer profile on SEDAR+ at www.sedarplus.ca.

New analysis examines why invention provenance, documentation, and ownership records are becoming increasingly important for companies developing AI-assisted innovations

DALLAS, TX, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — PatentVest, an AI-enabled intellectual property law firm, announces the publication of a new article, “Invention Provenance: Why the Verifiable Origin of an Invention Now Decides Who Owns It,” by Will Rosellini, Chief IP Officer at PatentVest.

The article examines how generative AI, distributed research and development teams, and increasingly complex collaboration models are changing the way companies establish inventorship, document contributions, and protect patent ownership.

As AI becomes more deeply integrated into the innovation process, companies face a growing challenge: demonstrating who contributed to an invention, how those contributions were made, and whether the appropriate ownership rights have been secured.

While U.S. patent law continues to require human inventors, AI-assisted invention introduces additional considerations around identifying and documenting significant human contributions.

Why Invention Provenance Matters

Rosellini’s analysis highlights three areas companies should consider when developing and protecting their intellectual property:

  • AI-Assisted Inventorship: Understanding and documenting human contributions when generative AI is used during the invention process.
  • Collaborative Innovation and Ownership: Managing inventorship and assignment risks across employees, contractors, research partners, and external collaborators.
  • IP Due Diligence: Maintaining reliable documentation that supports patent ownership during financing, acquisitions, licensing, and enforcement.

The article also examines how gaps in invention of records and assignment agreements can create legal and commercial risks that may not become apparent until a company undergoes a transaction or faces a patent dispute.

A Strategic Consideration for Innovation-Driven Companies

As innovation becomes increasingly collaborative and AI-assisted, the invention of provenance is emerging as an important component of patent portfolio management.

For technology companies, the ability to establish the origin of an invention and demonstrate a clear chain of ownership can influence how intellectual property is evaluated during commercial transactions and legal proceedings.

The article emphasizes the importance of maintaining contemporaneous invention records, documenting AI involvement, reviewing ownership agreements, and evaluating inventorship before patent applications are filed.

Later today, Conor Yang joined a high-level panel discussion, alongside representatives from CAAM, Futurise, the National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO Malaysia) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), to discuss the pathway toward operationalizing Malaysia’s low-altitude economy, from policy frameworks and trial validation to commercial operations.

“Malaysia embraces the low-altitude economy as a national opportunity, and we are building the regulatory framework for it through an iterative, learn-by-doing approach, with safety as non-negotiable. We welcome collaboration with pioneering technology companies like EHang to develop the low-altitude economy,” said Dato’ Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.

With its established aviation sector and extensive island and coastal tourism offerings, Malaysia has strong potential for low-altitude economy applications. The sandbox cooperation comes as the country steps up efforts to develop the sector. In August 2026, CAAM released a proposed Low Altitude Economy Framework for public consultation and has been working with Futurise on an Advanced Air Mobility Concept of Operations to guide the development of emerging aviation technologies, including eVTOLs.

The regulatory sandbox approach enables EHang to work directly with local aviation authorities to translate regulatory requirements into concrete validation steps and operational preparations tailored to each market. The expansion into Malaysia further extends this sandbox approach across international markets and supports the Company’s broader global growth strategy. Building on its sandbox initiatives in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Hong Kong, China, EHang is translating its international expansion strategy into tangible progress, working market by market to address local regulatory requirements and advance its certified pilotless eVTOL aircraft toward future overseas commercial operations.

  • Intersected a new mineralized structure above previously defined zones
  • Drilling identifies additional porphyry mineralization immediately below previously defined zones
  • Drilling extends current mineralized zone 25 metres up-dip

TORONTO, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NorthWest Copper Corp. (“NorthWest” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: NWST) is pleased to announce assay results from three additional drill holes in the Western Zone at its 100% owned Kwanika project in British Columbia. These holes form part of the Company’s recently completed 2026 drill program, which comprised 43 holes totalling 12,291 metres. The results achieved the program’s main objectives by confirming geological and grade continuity across the Western Zone while reducing drill hole spacing to approximately 50 metres to support increased confidence in the classification of future mineral resource updates.

The results demonstrate strong copper-gold mineralization over significant widths in the Western Zone. Highlights include drill hole K-26-346, which intersected 110.0 metres (estimated true width of 84.3 metres) grading 0.64% copper and 1.10 g/t gold (1.86% copper equivalent (“CuEq”)), including 39.8 metres grading 2.53% CuEq and 16.1 metres grading 4.37% CuEq.

The drilling also incrementally extended higher grade mineralized Unit 1 up-dip and confirmed persistent palladium enrichment in higher-grade Unit 2. Importantly, drilling intersected a new mineralized structure above previously defined mineralized zones, grading 1.07% CuEq over 30 metres, and identified an additional primary porphyry mineralized zone immediately below previously defined mineralized structures, highlighting further expansion potential at Kwanika.

Western Zone Drill Hole Highlights:

K-26-346: 110.0 metres of 0.64% Cu and 1.10 g/t Au (1.86% CuEq) from 378.0 metres

K-26-259: 115.1 metres of 0.42% Cu and 0.69 g/t Au (1.19% CuEq) from 406.9 metres

K-26-264: 50.9 metres of 0.38% Cu and 0.73 g/t Au (1.19% CuEq) from 487.0 metres

Paul Olmsted, CEO of NorthWest stated: “These results continue to demonstrate the consistency and quality of the Kwanika mineralized system with additional expansion potential opportunities identified. With results now reported from 14 of the 43 holes completed in the 2026 program, we are making meaningful progress toward increasing confidence in the classification of the existing mineral resource while identifying prospects to create additional value through refinements of known mineralized structures. The broad distribution of mineralization across the Pit, North Pit Extension and Western Zones reinforces our belief in the scale and potential of the Kwanika system. We look forward to reporting the remaining assay results and assessing their potential impact on the ongoing work on the Preliminary Economic Assessment.”

2026 Kwanika Exploration Program

With the three holes reported in this release, the Company has now reported results from 14 of the 43 holes completed during the 2026 Kwanika drill program, which totaled 12,291 metres. Collar locations for the holes of the 2026 drill program are presented in Figure 1, along with the location of the cross section (351325 E) containing the holes reported in this release.

Figure 1: Kwanika Central 2026 drill hole location map

Kwanika Central 2026 drill hole location map

Geoff Chinn, VP Business Development and Exploration added: “The three new holes on Section 351325 E succeeded in improving the grade and geological continuity of the Western Zone, while reducing drill hole spacing to about 50 metres. The geology model is performing well in the context of this new information. We are excited by the unexpected intersection above Unit 1 in hole K-26-264 and the new information it provides on the northern portion of the Western Zone. Equally positive are the extension of mineralization below Unit 2 in K-26-346 and the up-dip extension of Unit 1, as well as the persistence of palladium in Unit 2 down-dip. These results strengthen our understanding of the Western Zone and highlight opportunities to extend mineralization.”

Kwanika Exploration Drill Hole Summaries

Results of three drill holes are presented on cross-section 351325 E (Figure 2) with mineralized intersections listed in Table 1 and collar locations provided in Table 2. The cross-section is located in the Western Zone. The holes were designed to infill an area previously tested by low angle to mineralization to improve geological and grade continuity by reducing drill hole spacing to approximately 50 metres to support Indicated classification. A summary of the geological aspects of holes is presented below.

Western Zone:

Hole K-26-259 was drilled with HQ to 201 metres and NQ sized core and sampled on 2-metre intervals from half sawn core and drilled on 0° azimuth at a -90° dip to a depth of 576 metres.

After 24 metres of overburden the hole intersected post-mineralization Cretaceous sediments to 369 metres then a maroon-green hematite altered tectonic breccia to 375 metres, and a hematite-chlorite altered maroon porphyritic monzodiorite dyke to 407 metres. This was followed by a mineralized light beige potassic altered and fractured porphyritic monzonite with dismembered early quartz veins to 530 metres (Comps 1, 2, and 3). Higher-grade Au Unit 2 is identified by its higher palladium content (Comp 3). The interval ends in wider quartz-pyrite veins and increased amounts of massive irregular calcite and anhydrite veins. Monzonite continues and is gradually increasing dark green propylitic mottled alteration hosting abundant fine grained disseminated pyrite dominating over early quartz veins mineralization (Comp 4). The hole ends in low-grade copper-gold mineralization.

Hole K-26-264 was drilled with HQ to 335 metres and NQ sized core and sampled on 2-metre intervals from half sawn core and drilled on 0° azimuth at a -90° dip to a depth of 650 metres.

After 27 metres of overburden the hole intersected post-mineralization Cretaceous sediments to 340 metres then a maroon-green hematite altered tectonic breccia to 345 metres and a propylitic altered fractured dark green porphyritic diorite hoisting finely disseminated pyrite and dismembered early pyrite-magnetite quartz veins to 379 metres. This was followed by a sericite altered porphyritic dyke to 383 metres and a wide potassic and propylitic altered fault zone with vein hosted pyrite and dismembered early quartz veins to 401 metres. An unexpected, mineralized intersection of mottled maroon-green potassic and porphyritic monzonite was encountered to 442 metres (Comp 5 and 6) hosting both disseminated and quartz vein sulphides with thicker veins occurring at 412 metres, representing a new mineralized structure to follow-up. Dark green propylitic altered porphyritic monzodiorite continues to 473 metres that was crosscut by an orange potassic altered porphyritic late dyke to 482 metres. A mineralized fractured propylitic altered green-orange monzonite continued to 538 metres (Comp 7 and 8) with mineralization hosted mostly in early quartz veins. Mineralization is truncated by a light grey-pink porphyritic late dyke to 547 metres. A coherent sericite-chlorite altered pink to green to light tan monzonite continues to 584 metres hosting a quartz stockwork followed by a light tan to green porphyritic dyke to 602 metres and a weakly mineralized dacite dyke to 607 metres, where mineralization continues in a propylitic altered light tan to green monzonite continued to 623 metres, including elevated palladium values (Comp 9). Low-grade mineralization picks up again in coherent potassic altered locally salt and pepper textured monzodiorite with planer to irregular continuous quartz veins and lightly disseminated pyrite including elevated palladium values (Comps 10). The hole helps define the north potion of the Western Zone mineralized units and demonstrates the continuity of palladium enriched intervals correlated to Unit 2.

Hole K-26-346 was drilled with HQ to 150 metres and NQ sized core and sampled on 2-metre intervals from half sawn core and drilled on 170° azimuth at a -80° dip to a depth of 501 metres.

After 24 metres of overburden the hole intersected post-mineralization Cretaceous sediments to 377 metres then a tectonic breccia to 378 metres and a mineralized hematite altered maroon and light tan porphyritic monzonite to 409 metres, including two well mineralized intervals (Comp 12 and 13) hosted in dismembered early quartz stockwork. Mineralized monzonite is followed by a sericite altered light tan to medium grey mottled porphyritic late dyke to 414 metres. Mineralized monzonite continued on the other side of this dyke to the end of the hole and includes a two of mineralized intervals (Comps 14 and 15), including, a palladium enriched interval between 412 and 454 metres, consistent with Unit 2 and a well mineralized interval between 458 and 478 metres hosted in a coherent primary porphyry mineralization.

Section Summary: The drilling on Section 351325 E provided high-angle drill intersections that improve the geological and grade continuity in the Western Zone. The intersections demonstrate the continuity of Units 1 and 2, the persistence of palladium enrichment in Unit 2, a new mineralized structure in hole K-26-264, the up-dip extension of Unit 1 in K-26-346 and the expansion of low-grade below Unit 2 associated with Unit 16.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Drilling at Kwanika in 2026 was designed and supervised by NorthWest and implemented by InData Geoscience with assay QA/QC checks by Explore Geosolutions. Samples were collected, tracked and an external QA/QC program was implemented using coarse blanks and certified prepared blanks and standards to monitor analytical accuracy and precision. The samples were sealed on site and shipped to Activation Laboratories Ltd. (“Actlabs”) in Kamloops, BC. The laboratory’s internal quality control system complies with global certifications for quality ISO 17025. Drill core samples were analyzed using a combination of Actlabs multi-element 1F2 analysis for low level concentrations (4-Acid Digestion, ICP-OES) and the 8-4 Acid ICP-OES analysis for higher level concentrations (4-Acid Digestion, ICP-OES with automatic over limits for base metals and silver). Gold, platinum and palladium assaying was completed with 1C-OES method, using a 30-gram fire assay with ICP finish analysis. In addition, about 5% of the sample pulps are re-assayed at a secondary laboratory to confirm reproducibility and check for bias.
