• Submission marks an important milestone towards bringing a new treatment option to patients with DMD in South Korea.
  • Vamorolone has already received South Korean Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) and Global Innovative Products on Fast Track (GIFT) designation.
  • Targeting regulatory approval in South Korea in 2027 and commercial launch in 2028.

Tokyo, Japan and Cambridge, UK, 22 October 2026 – Nxera Pharma Co., Ltd. (“Nxera” or the “Company”) announces that it has submitted a Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in South Korea for vamorolone for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

As announced on 2 June 2026, vamorolone has received Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) and Global Innovative Products on Fast Track (GIFT) designation in South Korea. GIFT is a priority review pathway designed to accelerate the review of innovative medicines targeting life-threatening or serious diseases, including rare diseases, and is expected to help shorten the review timeline and support earlier patient access to vamorolone. The Company is targeting marketing authorization in South Korea in 2027, followed by a commercial launch in 2028.

In January 2026, Nxera acquired exclusive rights from Santhera Pharmaceuticals Holding (“Santhera”) to develop, manufacture and commercialize vamorolone in Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Nxera is leading regulatory approval, commercialization and manufacturing activities in these territories. Vamorolone is a dissociative corticosteroid developed to preserve anti-inflammatory efficacy while reducing the systemic side effects associated with long-term conventional corticosteroid therapy. It is approved and marketed for the treatment of DMD in the US, European Union, UK and China.

Mr. MinBok Lee, President and Representative Director of Nxera Pharma Korea, commented: ” This submission marks an important milestone towards bringing a new treatment option to patients with DMD and their families in South Korea. Following the ODD and GIFT designations, we are very pleased to have reached this submission milestone as planned. DMD is a serious, progressive disease requiring long-term treatment, and we believe vamorolone has the potential to address an important unmet medical need by offering a differentiated treatment option with a more favorable long-term safety profile. We will continue to explore ways to bring vamorolone to Korean patients sooner, while working closely with the regulatory authorities towards approval.”

About Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a rare inherited X-chromosome-linked disease, which almost exclusively affects males. DMD is characterized by inflammation which is present at birth or shortly thereafter. Inflammation leads to fibrosis of muscle and is clinically manifested by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. Major milestones in the disease are the loss of ambulation, the loss of self-feeding, the start of assisted ventilation, and the development of cardiomyopathy. DMD typically reduces life expectancy to before the fourth decade due to respiratory and/or cardiac failure.

About vamorolone

Vamorolone is a dissociative corticosteroid approved for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). It binds selectively to the glucocorticoid receptor and triggers anti-inflammatory activity through inhibition of NF‑κB-mediated gene transcription, while inducing reduced transactivation of other genes [1]. Vamorolone is not a substrate for 11‑β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11β-HSD) enzymes, which are involved in the local amplification of glucocorticoid activity in tissues and have been implicated in corticosteroid-associated toxicity [2,3]. This pharmacological profile is the basis for its classification as a dissociative corticosteroid, designed to preserve anti-inflammatory efficacy while reducing the systemic effects associated with long-term conventional corticosteroid therapy [1–3].

In the pivotal Phase 2b VISION-DMD study, vamorolone met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement in Time to Stand (TTSTAND) velocity versus placebo at 24 weeks (p = 0.002) [4]. The most commonly reported adverse reactions were cushingoid features, vomiting, weight increase, increased appetite, and irritability; most were mild to moderate in severity [1].

Long-term data from up to eight years of vamorolone treatment were presented at the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinical & Scientific Conference in March 2026[5,6]. In propensity-matched analyses, vamorolone demonstrated durable efficacy comparable to standard-of-care corticosteroids and a differentiated safety profile: a lower incidence of vertebral fractures versus deflazacort-treated cohorts (8.1% vs 41.9%; p = 0.0082) [5]; maintained normal growth trajectory with a mean height advantage of 12.17 cm versus conventional corticosteroids (p < 0.0001) [5,6], and a lower incidence of cataracts versus deflazacort (p = 0.015), with no observed cases of glaucoma [5].

Company advances plans for Chicago-area graphene production facility targeting initial capacity of 10 metric tonnes per quarter, alongside encouraging preliminary lubricant testing results

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Argo Graphene Solutions Corp. (CSE: ARGO | OTCQB: ARLSF | FSE: 94Y) (“Argo” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide an update on its plans to establish a commercial-scale graphene refinery in the Chicago, Illinois area, while reporting encouraging preliminary results from its evaluation of graphene as a performance-enhancing additive in industrial lubricants.

Together, these initiatives advance Argo’s strategy to build a vertically integrated graphene business, connecting commercial-scale production with the development of graphene-based products for industrial markets.

Argo’s commercialization strategy is built around its exclusive worldwide licence to Grapherry’s proprietary STREAM™ production technology. The agreement also establishes a contractual pathway to full ownership, supporting Argo’s long-term objective of owning its core production technology.

Advancing Argo’s Graphene Refinery Strategy

Argo continues to advance its plans to establish a commercial-scale graphene refinery in the Chicago area, representing an important step in the Company’s transition from pilot-scale production toward commercial manufacturing.

The Company is in the final stages of securing a facility intended to house its STREAM™ production operations, supporting the manufacture of graphene and graphene oxide for a broad range of industrial applications.

A wholly owned Nevada-incorporated subsidiary of Argo Graphene Solutions Corp. has been granted Authority to Transact Business in Illinois by the Illinois Secretary of State, effective October 15, 2026. The subsidiary is undergoing a corporate name change to better reflect Argo’s expanding portfolio of graphene and graphene oxide products and industrial applications. The Company will announce the new name following regulatory approval.

Argo’s initial development phase targets production capacity of approximately 10 metric tonnes of graphene per quarter, with plans to expand to approximately 90 metric tonnes per quarter as the Company advances its longer-term commercialization strategy.

Argo also plans to expand its graphene oxide production capabilities, initially targeting 30 metric tonnes per quarter of graphene oxide dispersion at a 20% concentration, with further capacity expansion contemplated as commercial operations develop.

The proposed facility is intended to support Argo’s vertically integrated refinery model, combining graphene production with material testing, application development and customer qualification programs.

Following the completion of its C$1.47 million financing in September 2026, Argo intends to advance facility development, production scale-up and customer qualification programs. The planned refinery is expected to support the development of graphene and graphene oxide products for industrial markets, including construction, energy storage, composites, coatings and lubricants, while providing a foundation for future commercial partnerships.

Expanding Industrial Applications: Graphene-Enhanced Lubricants

Alongside its refinery development, Argo is advancing its evaluation of graphene-enhanced industrial lubricants, representing another potential commercial application for its graphene technology.

Preliminary testing has produced encouraging results, demonstrating that graphene remained dispersed in a specially formulated mineral oil for multiple weeks at tested concentrations ranging from 0.05% to 0.50% by weight. Maintaining stable dispersion is an important step toward developing lubricant formulations with the potential to reduce friction, minimize equipment wear and improve operating efficiency. Initial friction testing has also yielded encouraging observations, supporting further performance evaluation and formulation development.

The global lubricants industry represents a substantial market for potential performance-enhancing additives. According to Grand View Research, the global lubricants market is projected to reach approximately US$155 billion in 2026, growing to more than US$204 billion by 2033. Graphene-based additives could potentially enhance existing lubricant formulations across industries including transportation, manufacturing, construction, mining and energy.

Argo intends to continue testing and refining its formulations, with a focus on validating performance improvements and identifying commercially viable applications.

“Our planned Chicago-area refinery is a key step in building the production capabilities needed to commercialize graphene across multiple industrial markets,” said Dr. Vikas Berry, CEO of Argo Graphene Solutions Corp. “The encouraging results from our preliminary lubricant testing highlight another potential application for graphene. Our focus is on advancing production, validating performance and translating these opportunities into commercial products.”

Inspection tips enable access to MMC fibre connections in high-density environments without disturbing critical network infrastructure

Eindhoven, Netherlands, Oct. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — As AI, cloud and high-speed networking drive higher fibre density in data centres, technicians installing or troubleshooting fibre connections need to inspect connector end faces hidden within densely populated patch panels. The process increases troubleshooting time, operational complexity and the risk of network disruption. To address these challenges, Fluke Networks today announced new inspection tips for the FI-3000 FiberInspector™ Pro, enabling access to MMC fibre connections in high-density environments without disturbing critical network infrastructure.

The new portfolio consists of two MMCE extended-reach inspection tips, available in keyed and keyless versions, that eliminate one of the most common challenges in high-density data centres: accessing fibre connectors for inspection without disturbing active infrastructure. The tips provide direct access to bulkhead connectors and patch panel ports from the front of the rack, reducing the need to disconnect multiple fibre assemblies while accelerating troubleshooting and helping protect network uptime.

Contaminated fibre remains one of the leading causes of optical network performance issues. In an NTT-Advanced Technology study, 96% of installers and 80% of network operators reported problems related to connector end-face contamination. As connector density increases, so does the challenge of inspecting and maintaining fibre connections. Multi-fibre connectors create more opportunities for contamination while making access and inspection more difficult. The new MMC inspection tips help technicians follow fibre inspection best practices, inspect hard-to-reach connectors and maintain fibre quality without adding workflow complexity.

“The industry’s push toward greater fibre density is transforming data centre infrastructure, but it’s also creating new challenges for the teams responsible for keeping networks running reliably,” said Mark Mullins, Global Product Manager, Fluke Networks. “Technicians shouldn’t have to disrupt installed infrastructure just to inspect a fibre connection. With these new FI-3000 inspection tips, we’re removing a longstanding operational tradeoff by enabling access to hard-to-reach MMC connectors from the front of the rack. That means faster installation and troubleshooting, less complexity and greater confidence that critical networks remain online and performing as expected.”

Together, the new inspection tips help reduce the operational burden associated with maintaining and troubleshooting fibre infrastructure. Rather than disconnecting adjacent connections to gain access or spending time locating the correct fibre from the back of a rack, technicians can inspect connectors directly through the front of populated patch panels. This streamlined workflow helps accelerate commissioning, troubleshooting and routine maintenance activities.

The MMC tips are designed for use with the FI-3000 FiberInspector Ultra, part of Versiv™, the industry’s leading Cabling Certification platform, which also supports twisted pair cabling along with single-and multifibre connections.  Contractors using the platform report minimal training time and Fluke offers factory-certified training with over 10,000 certified technicians worldwide. Documentation of results is offered through LinkWare™, the most widely accepted reporting software with nearly 40,000 downloads and nearly 200 million results stored.

To learn more about the new MMC inspection tips for the FI-3000 FiberInspector Pro and how they simplify inspection of critical fibre connections in high-density data centre environments, please visit FI-3000 FiberInspector Pro MMC Inspection Tips.

A number of factors, many of which are beyond the ability of the Company to control or predict, could cause actual results to differ materially from those in its forward-looking statements. These factors include, but are not limited to: (i) the strength of the local, state, national and international economies and financial markets (including effects of inflationary pressures); (ii) effects on the U.S. economy resulting from actions taken by the federal government, including the threat or implementation of tariffs, immigration enforcement, and changes in foreign policy and tax regulations; (iii) the economic impact of any future terrorist threats and attacks, widespread disease or pandemics, military conflicts, acts of war or threats thereof (including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and the recent military actions in Venezuela), or other adverse events that could cause economic deterioration or instability in credit markets, and the response of the local, state and national governments to any such adverse external events; (iv) new or revised accounting policies and practices, as may be adopted by state and federal regulatory agencies, the Financial Accounting Standards Board or the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board; (v) changes in local, state and federal laws, regulations and governmental policies concerning the Company’s general business; (vi) the imposition of tariffs or other governmental policies impacting the value of products produced by the Company’s commercial borrowers; (vii) increased competition in the financial services sector, including from non-bank competitors such as credit unions and fintech companies, and the inability to attract new customers; (viii) changes in technology and the ability to develop and maintain secure and reliable electronic systems; (ix) unexpected results of acquisitions which may include failure to realize the anticipated benefits of the acquisitions and the possibility that transaction costs may be greater than anticipated; (x) the loss of key executives and employees, talent shortages and employee turnover; (xi) changes in consumer spending; (xii) unexpected outcomes and costs of existing or new litigation or other legal proceedings and regulatory actions involving the Company; (xiii) the economic impact on the Company and its customers of climate change, natural disasters and exceptional weather occurrences such as tornadoes, floods and blizzards; (xiv) fluctuations in the value of securities held in our securities portfolio, including as a result of changes in interest rates; (xv) credit risk and risks from concentrations (by type of borrower, geographic area, collateral and industry) within our loan portfolio and large loans to certain borrowers (including CRE loans); (xvi) the overall health of the local and national real estate market; (xvii) the ability to maintain an adequate level of allowance for credit losses on loans; (xviii) the concentration of large deposits from certain clients who have balances above current FDIC insurance limits and who may withdraw deposits to diversify their exposure; (xix) the ability to successfully manage liquidity risk, which may increase dependence on non-core funding sources such as brokered deposits, and may negatively impact the Company’s cost of funds; (xx) the level of non-performing assets on our balance sheets; (xxi) interruptions involving our information technology and communications systems or third-party servicers; (xxii) the occurrence of fraudulent activity, breaches or failures of our third-party vendors’ information security controls or cybersecurity-related incidents, including as a result of sophisticated attacks using artificial intelligence and similar tools or as a result of insider fraud; (xxiii) changes in the interest rates and repayment rates of the Company’s assets; (xxiv) the effectiveness of the Company’s risk management framework, and (xxv) the ability of the Company to manage the risks associated with the foregoing as well as anticipated. These risks and uncertainties should be considered in evaluating forward-looking statements and undue reliance should not be placed on such statements.
