Schneider Electric unveils new prefabricated reference design engineered for modular AI factories
  • New Schneider Electric RapidScale Modular Data Center Reference Design offers a flexible hardware blueprint built to support the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform as the market transitions from traditional building methods to manufacturing AI capacity at-scale
  • RapidScale, Schneider Electric’s portfolio for prefabricated modular data center solutions, combines 90% of Schneider Electric solutions with end-to-end lifecycle support to accelerate deployment, improve predictability and reduce project risk
  • New time study co-authored with Compass Datacenters found that prefabricated white space modules cut onsite installation time by 80%

BERLIN, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, today announced its RapidScale Modular Data Center Reference Design 115. The new reference design provides a validated, pre-engineered blueprint for high-density AI infrastructure, streamlining onsite logistics and planning while accelerating deployment times for AI factories globally.

The design brings together the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform and innovative liquid cooling technology, built to maximize processing power while keeping energy use under control. By using advanced fluid cooling with smart temperature controls, it ensures data centers provide peak compute performance without risking overheating or wasting power.

By integrating modularity across the broader infrastructure architecture, this approach transitions operators toward repeatable, risk-tested AI infrastructure blueprints rather than relying solely on custom-engineered data centers. The blueprints combine power, liquid cooling, IT, software, and lifecycle services into a scalable, industrialized delivery model.

Addressing Market Shifts and Critical AI Infrastructure Challenges

The new modular data center reference design comes at a time of rapid growth and transformation across the data center industry, as processing needs for artificial intelligence fundamentally reshape infrastructure requirements.

What were once considered benefits of prefabricated modular infrastructure — speed, predictability, repeatability, and quality — are now essential requirements for AI-scale data center deployment. Schneider Electric estimates that global data center capacity will increase by 170 GW by 2030, reaching 300 GW in total, or 2.3 times the 2025 installed base. By the end of the decade, AI workloads are expected to account for approximately 65% of total demand. This growth is accelerating the need for quick deployment of AI infrastructure, driving simultaneous increases in investment, power demand, and capacity requirements.

Developers relying on traditional stick-built construction face increasing challenges in keeping pace with demand. Meanwhile, high-density computing environments intensify power and cooling requirements, creating complex integration challenges, and increasing pressure on grid capacity, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Skilled labor shortages further complicate these challenges by creating workforce bottlenecks and extending installation timelines for complex AI deployments.

Quantifying the Advantages of Prefabricated White Space

Separately, a new research paper co-authored with hyperscale developer, Compass Datacenters, ‘Prefabricated White Space Module Time Study: Lessons from a High-Density Liquid-Cooled Deployment’ (White Paper 238), highlights the quantitative deployment efficiency gains of shifting from traditional white space builds to prefabricated modular IT pods. According to the study performed at a Compass hyperscale data center campus, prefabricated modular pods shorten onsite installation time from 75.5 hours to just 15 hours per pod, delivering an 80% reduction in onsite installation duration. By shifting critical assembly, integration and verification to a controlled factory environment, data center operators can reduce on-site labor and complexity while bringing AI compute capacity online faster.

“The white space brings together the greatest concentration of systems and trades in the smallest footprint, with each installation dependent on the one before it,” said Adil Attlassy, Chief Technology Officer of Compass Datacenters. “Working jointly with Schneider Electric, we engineered a prefabricated module that integrates these systems into a single assembly, eliminating the need to coordinate multiple scopes of work onsite. By reducing onsite installation time by 80%, we accelerate deployment and help our customers bring their workloads online sooner.”

Schneider Electric RapidScale: An Integrated Industrialized Architecture for the AI Lifecycle

RapidScale is Schneider Electric’s end-to-end industrialized approach for designing, delivering, and supporting prefabricated modular AI infrastructure at scale. RapidScale utilizes deep engineering across power, cooling, IT space, software, and lifecycle services to help customers shift away from complex custom engineering and toward repeatable, risk-tested blueprints. This reference design also represents a foundational first step toward supporting the NVIDIA DSX POD reference design, which enables factory integration and validation of Vera Rubin AI infrastructure before shipment to accelerate time to first token.

In today’s market, supply chain management becomes the new critical component in reducing scheduling uncertainty and project risk. Schneider Electric addresses this challenge through a globally integrated supply chain that spans from individual components to complete modular solutions. Backed by manufacturing capacity that has grown fourfold since 2025, Schneider Electric’s footprint spans eight primary sites totaling 1.35 million square feet of capacity, complemented by three additional facilities and 12 partner sites across 10 countries.

Leveraging its broad portfolio, RapidScale incorporates approximately 90% in-house manufactured equipment. This ensures predictable performance, supply chain certainty, and full lifecycle support from day-one deployment through long-term optimization.

“As AI infrastructure scales at unprecedented speed, customers need solutions that are standardized, reliable, and deployable with certainty,” said Manish Kumar, Executive Vice President, Secure Power & Data Centers at Schneider Electric. “Through our portfolio of reference designs and prefabricated solutions, combined with global supply chain strength and lifecycle expertise, we help AI factory operators accelerate time to value while building the resilient infrastructure required for next-generation compute.”

Schneider Electric is recognized by Omdia¹ as the No. 1 global manufacturer of prefabricated power solutions, the No. 1 manufacturer of prefabricated modular data centers in North America, and one of the top six providers globally outside North America.

Attacker adoption of agentic AI is lagging the technology, but adversaries are already exploiting high-severity vulnerabilities in an average of just three days, leaving defenders a narrow window to reduce exposure

BOSTON, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rapid7, Inc. (NASDAQ: RPD), a leader in AI-powered managed cybersecurity operations, today released its Quarterly Threat Landscape Report, revealing that human operators remain the primary drivers of modern cyber threats despite widespread warnings about autonomous AI attacks.

The report shows AI is used as an operational component in just 8% of tracked incidents. While automation increasingly handles tactical execution, human actors still select most targets and dictate attack intent. Drawing from vulnerability research, frontline incident response, and underground monitoring, the newly announced Rapid7 Intelligence connects these insights to deliver a comprehensive view of adversary operations.

“Board decks often confuse the real explosion in AI-driven vulnerability discovery with actual exploitation, which hasn’t materialized. Only 8% of tracked reporting cites AI as an operational component,” said Christiaan Beek, Vice President of Rapid7 Intelligence. “But that’s a snapshot of adoption, not a ceiling. Agentic capabilities are advancing faster than any organization, attackers included, can rework its processes around them. The question is when, not if, agentic exploitation scales. Defenders need to move past reactive patching and start grounding their risk appetite in concrete days of exposure.”

Key findings include:

  • Vulnerability exploitation continues to accelerate: Attackers exploit high-severity vulnerabilities within an average of just three days, with 71% occurring in the first week—underscoring the urgent need to address critical exposures faster than traditional patching cycles allow.
  • U.S. organizations accounted for the largest volume of ransomware listings. Rapid7 recorded 1,112 U.S. ransomware leak-site listings, roughly eight times Germany’s total, with The Gentlemen (342), Qilin (339), and INC Ransom (99) leading group activity.
  • “Holy Grail” vulnerabilities drive attacks. 79% of exploited flaws required no authentication and no user interaction, giving adversaries direct, remote access into enterprise environments.
  • Compromised access drove underground market activity. Of 63 monitored posts, 41 advertised Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or network access.

Across espionage and cybercrime campaigns, threat groups change, but core tactics persist, including command and scripting interpreters, credential theft, and remote-access exploitation. These patterns underscore the need for behavioral detection and response, not static lists of known groups.

What this means for security operations

The findings from the third quarter of 2026 point to clear priorities for security teams: identify exposed assets, assess what attackers can exploit, and prioritize fixes by business impact. While the report findings show cyber threats remain human-driven, attackers are still leveraging AI to accelerate campaigns, making it critical for defenders to rapidly patch remotely exploitable vulnerabilities rather than wait for scheduled updates.

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO), a global technology leader that designs, develops, and supplies semiconductors and infrastructure software, today announced the launch of Arcot Scam Defense, a groundbreaking new feature of Arcot by Broadcom, designed to block social engineering fraud during card-not-present (CNP) transactions.

“Financial institutions are experiencing broad increases in fraud attempts driven by sophisticated, AI-enhanced social engineering attacks,” said Matt Cooke, vice president and general manager, Payment Security Division, Broadcom. “While technological security systems have advanced and are highly effective at blocking fraud, fraudsters have pivoted their efforts to hacking customers directly. By impersonating trusted brands and institutions, they trick cardholders into revealing passwords or completing step-up authentications. Cardholders usually remain unaware that they have handed over the keys to the castle until after the scam.”

How Social Engineering Works
During a payment flow, once a cardholder completes a 3-D Secure authentication challenge, by entering a one-time password (OTP) or using a biometric, the transaction is treated as legitimate and is approved by a financial institution’s primary risk models. While real-time risk assessment models are highly effective at flagging suspicious transactions, they are not designed to stop a legitimate account holder actively under the influence of a scam.

Introducing Arcot Scam Defense
“Arcot Scam Defense closes a critical gap,” added Cooke. “It serves as the definitive safety net against social engineering attacks. Operating as a real-time second layer of defense, it leverages advanced intelligence during authentication to flag suspected fraud – even after a successful challenge. By closing the approval door on these attacks, we increase cardholder safety and drive down fraud losses, while continuing to allow legitimate transactions through.”

Arcot Scam Defense analyzes a broad range of signals across transaction information, device intelligence, historical behavior, and the challenge interaction itself to identify patterns indicative of social engineering. These can include discrepancies in the location and behavior of the transacting checkout device and the authenticating device, delayed OTP entry, the use of an alternative authentication method, or a significant physical distance between the two devices. These signals are evaluated collectively to inform a real-time decision rather than relying on any single indicator. Additionally, the solution can integrate with third-party solutions to determine if the authenticating device is on an active phone call, which is a prime indicator of social engineering.

Even if a cardholder falls for a scam and hands over their credentials, Broadcom’s Arcot Scam Defense feature can help identify the behavioral shift and block the transaction in real time.

The scale of the problem is immense, with nearly half a billion dollars in fraud reported over the last 12 months on successfully authenticated challenges. In pilot testing validated on a full month of live data, the Arcot Scam Defense feature demonstrated exceptional performance. For one major pilot issuer, reviewing just the top 1% of successful challenges would have protected an estimated $4 million in fraud in just a month, at a cost of only 0.38 points off their authentication success rate.

Looking ahead, Broadcom expects to expand Arcot Scam Defense’s capabilities by adding new signals, including cardholder and device attributes, and a dedicated challenge history profiling engine to learn each cardholder’s past challenge behavior.

Arcot by Broadcom is exclusively focused on 3-D Secure payment authentication. For more information on how Arcot is redefining payment security, visit https://www.broadcom.com/products/software/payment-security.

OLON connects merchants and consumers through simpler payments, smarter commerce and more rewarding experiences.

LEAWOOD, Kan., Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Euronet (NASDAQ: EEFT), a global payments infrastructure company and leader in payment processing and cross-border transactions, today announced the launch of OLON, a next-generation commerce ecosystem designed to help businesses simplify complexity in accepting and processing payments, helping to accelerate their growth and unlock new opportunities in an increasingly connected economy, while also creating a scalable foundation for Euronet’s continued expansion in merchant services.

OLON, from the Greek word ‘όλον’, meaning ‘the whole’, represents completeness and the power of interconnected parts working together as one. In merchant services, this philosophy comes to life by connecting payments with technology, integrated business applications and systems and value-added services into a unified ecosystem that evolves and grows alongside the merchant. The result is a connected commerce experience that helps businesses operate more efficiently, grow more effectively and engage customers more meaningfully, while giving consumers greater choice, seamless interactions and enhanced value at every touchpoint.

This philosophy is structured around three interconnected pillars: Payments, Commerce and Growth. Together, they bring payment acceptance, business application integrations and value-added services into a single, adaptable ecosystem.

Modular, flexible and future-ready by design, OLON allows merchants to activate the capabilities most relevant to their business and add new ones as their needs evolve. Its modular architecture combines the simplicity of one ecosystem with the flexibility to support different merchant needs, enabling efficient deployment and expansion across markets.

One Scalable Ecosystem for Payments, Commerce and Growth

More than a payments platform, OLON is a unified commerce ecosystem that simplifies how merchants operate, manage and grow their business and how consumers interact with merchants.

At its core, OLON provides a comprehensive payment acceptance layer across physical and digital commerce, spanning every physical acceptance channel (desktop, mobile, unattended, tap on phone), eCommerce, payment links, international and domestic card schemes, digital wallets, account-to-account payments and local payment methods.

This breadth enables OLON to address the global market country by country, adapting its proposition to local market needs and specificities rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all model. Building on more than 30 years of presence in Europe, Euronet provides critical payments infrastructure across local markets, supported by established operations, connectivity to national payment networks and long-standing business relationships. This provides a strong foundation for OLON’s expansion.

Beyond payments, OLON becomes part of the merchant’s everyday business ecosystem. Seamless integrations with global and local technology providers across ERP, ECR, invoicing, fiscal, retail, hospitality, restaurants, booking, ticketing and other industry-specific applications connect payments directly to core business processes while meeting the needs of different verticals and markets. Reporting, settlement monitoring, customer loyalty, analytics and reconciliation capabilities provide merchants with a single environment to better understand, manage and control their operations.

Another key differentiator of OLON is its unique, growing portfolio of value-added services within the broader Euronet ecosystem, designed to strengthen customer engagement and unlock new revenue opportunities for merchants. These include tax-free shopping services, bill payments, digital wallets, foreign exchange (FX) solutions, liquidity services, and meal vouchers, among others. OLON also enables merchants to distribute digital products and services from leading international brands, transforming the point of sale from a payment acceptance endpoint into a broader commerce and service channel. By bringing these capabilities together in a single platform, OLON lets merchants enrich their customer proposition, differentiate their offering, generate additional revenue streams and expand their role in the digital economy, while giving Euronet more opportunities to deepen merchant relationships over time.

Built for Local Markets. Designed for Scalable Growth.

OLON creates a commerce ecosystem that can be deployed consistently across markets while adapting to each country’s specific needs. A common platform can accommodate local payment preferences, regulatory requirements, business practices, global and local enterprise applications, and market-specific integrations. In a highly fragmented global market, Euronet’s established presence, infrastructure and market knowledge provide a strong foundation for growth.

Built around modularity, flexibility and adaptability, OLON lets merchants activate the capabilities that best fit their business today and expand as their needs evolve. OLON can add new payment methods, services, integrations and commerce capabilities over time, evolving alongside merchants, customers and the markets they serve while supporting disciplined expansion without building separate platforms for each market.

For consumers, OLON is designed to make everyday commerce simpler, more connected and more rewarding, giving people greater choice in how they pay while creating more seamless experiences across participating merchants. By bringing payments and merchant services into one connected ecosystem, OLON aims to strengthen the relationship between merchants and their customers and create greater value around every transaction.

For merchants, OLON is designed to make commerce simpler, smarter and more connected, bringing payments, business applications and value-added services together within one ecosystem. By giving businesses the tools to accept payments, manage and grow their operations and engage more effectively with customers, OLON aims to reduce complexity, improve efficiency and help merchants build stronger, more valuable customer relationships.

Nikos Fountas, EVP & CEO Payments Infrastructure Americas and EMEA, commented,

“OLON reflects our ambition to go beyond payment acceptance and create a broader commerce ecosystem that brings together the capabilities merchants need to operate, engage their customers and grow. Combined with Euronet’s international scale and assets, OLON creates an ecosystem that is locally relevant, accelerates merchant growth and scales consistently across markets.”

Greece to Be the First Market to Fully Deploy OLON

Building on Euronet’s merchant services presence in more than 15 European countries, OLON will fully roll out first in Greece, one of its initial markets, reaching approximately 225,000 merchants across 300,000 physical points of sale and 7,000 eShops. OLON is also taking shape in Germany and other Southern European markets, with capabilities tailored to each market’s needs and dynamics. The ecosystem will continue to evolve, with new services and capabilities introduced to meet merchant needs and market opportunities.

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Shimmick Corporation (NASDAQ: SHIM), a leading provider of water and critical infrastructure solutions, today announced that it completed a $14.3 million equipment refinancing transaction during the third fiscal quarter of 2026 with Sixty-First Commercial Finance.

The five-year, fixed-rate financing refinanced existing equipment debt, reducing the Company’s borrowing rate from 12.50% to 9.31%, an improvement of approximately 319 basis points. Eligible investors can contribute digital assets directly in exchange for shares of select Grayscale products

STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Grayscale, the world’s largest digital asset-focused investment platform*, today announced that it is providing eligible investors with the ability to participate in-kind to select Grayscale products. Through in-kind, eligible investors can contribute an underlying digital asset directly in exchange for shares of a Grayscale product, rather than first selling the asset for fiat currency and making a cash investment.

“As digital assets mature, investors are seeking more secure and efficient ways to manage their crypto holdings,” said Steve Vanourny, Head of Index at Grayscale. “With growing cybersecurity threats, including self-custody and DeFi exploits, institutional custody is increasingly valuable. In-kind investing bridges direct crypto ownership and traditional portfolio management, offering access to professionally managed investment products while helping to unlock benefits such as margin and collateral use, estate planning, and broader portfolio flexibility.”

The Grayscale products currently available for in-kind and their respective approximate** minimum investment amounts, as of October 20, 2026, are outlined below:

Grayscale Avalanche Staking ETF (Ticker: GAVA)  $235,800+
Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF (Ticker: BTC)  $364,800+
Grayscale Chainlink Trust ETF (Ticker: GLNK)  $107,900+
Grayscale Ethereum Staking Mini ETF (Ticker: ETH)  $232,300+
Grayscale Dogecoin Trust ETF (Ticker: GDOG) $95,550+
Grayscale Hyperliquid Staking ETF (Ticker: HYPG)  $282,600+
Grayscale Solana Staking ETF (Ticker: GSOL)  $80,300+
Grayscale Sui Staking ETF (Ticker: GSUI)  $148,400+
Grayscale XRP Trust ETF (Ticker: GXRP) $257,000+
The Zcash ETF (Ticker: ZCSH) $322,600+

Minimum investment amounts are subject to change without notice.

For investors who already hold digital assets, in-kind investing may provide a more direct way to move existing positions into traditional investment vehicles while maintaining exposure to the underlying asset through shares of the vehicle.  Shares may be held through brokerage or retirement accounts and incorporated into conventional portfolio management and estate-planning frameworks.

By holding exposure through shares, investors may also gain access to capabilities that are more difficult or unavailable when holding the underlying token directly. By contributing eligible tokens to a Grayscale product, investors can reduce the operational burden of self-custody and safekeeping while potentially lowering the execution costs associated with transacting on crypto marketplaces. Shares may also be eligible for use as margin or collateral, providing access to traditional lending markets, and can be paired with listed options to hedge exposure, help generate incremental income, or support estate planning.

Grayscale expects in-kind investing to become increasingly relevant as investors take a more sophisticated approach to managing digital asset exposure. The firm welcomes the opportunity to work with eligible investors and their advisors to evaluate whether the strategy may be appropriate for their circumstances and investment objectives.

Clients seeking to access in-kind subscriptions through the primary market must work with an Authorized Participant or another conduit to an Authorized Participant. In-kind subscriptions remain subject to product availability, facilitator fees and applicable terms. Clients should consult their financial, legal, and tax advisors regarding their individual circumstances.

Investors interested in exploring in-kind subscriptions and whether they may be appropriate for their circumstances can contact inkind@grayscale.com.

The Grayscale ETPs are not investment companies registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, and therefore are not subject to the same regulatory requirements as mutual funds or ETFs registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Investing in digital assets involves significant risk and heightened volatility, including possible loss of principal. An investment in the ETPs is not suitable for all investors, may be deemed speculative and is not intended as a complete investment program. An investment should be considered only by persons who can bear the risk of total loss associated with an investment in the ETPs. An investment in the ETPs is not a direct investment in any cryptocurrency.

This information should not be relied upon as research, investment advice, or a recommendation regarding any products, strategies, or any security in particular. This material is strictly for illustrative, educational, or informational purposes and is subject to change. This press release is not an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy any security in any jurisdiction where such an offer or solicitation would be illegal, nor shall there be any sale of any security in any jurisdiction in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of that jurisdiction.

Digital assets are assets designed to act as a medium of exchange, though some arguably have not achieved that purpose. Digital assets are an emerging asset class. Digital assets generally operate without a central authority (such as a bank) and are not backed by any government. Digital assets are not legal tender. Federal, state and/or foreign governments may restrict the use and exchange of digital assets, and regulation in the United States is still developing.

Converting tokens in kind into Grayscale’s spot crypto ETPs may require selling or swapping tokens into the underlying asset, creating exposure to market impact, slippage, and timing risk. The ETP shares received may trade at a premium or discount to NAV, so the economic exposure may not match the value of the contributed assets. The mechanism depends on authorized participants, custodians, and operational processes, introducing counterparty and execution risk, including potential loss from transfer errors or custody failures. Tax treatment is uncertain and may trigger taxable events, particularly when contributing assets other than the ETP’s underlying crypto.

The Sponsor does not store, hold, or maintain custody of the ETPs’ digital assets but instead has entered into the Custodian Agreement with a third party to facilitate the security of its digital assets. The Custodian controls and secures an ETP’s digital asset accounts, a segregated custody account to store private keys, which allow for the transfer of ownership or control of the digital asset, on a ETP’s behalf. If the Custodian resigns or is removed by the Sponsor or otherwise, without replacement, it could trigger early termination of an ETP.

Jiangsu HUHU to deliver testing, certification, and compliance services; award decision expected in the coming weeks

WUXI, China, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — HUHUTECH International Group Inc. (Nasdaq: HUHU) (“HUHUTECH” or the “Company”), a system integration provider that designs and implements integrated facility management systems and industrial automation monitoring systems for the optoelectronic, and semiconductor, telecom, and logistics industries, today announced that its operating subsidiary, Jiangsu HUHU Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. (“Jiangsu HUHU”), has formed a consortium with an East China-based semiconductor facility engineering company to bid on a gas delivery system engineering project for a fab expansion at an integrated circuit manufacturer in China. The total project value is expected to exceed RMB 60 million (more than US$8 million).

Under the consortium agreement, the engineering partner will lead technical design and equipment installation while Jiangsu HUHU will be responsible for testing, certification, and related compliance work. The consortium members are jointly and severally liable to the project owner for performance of the contract. Jiangsu HUHU’s scope represents a portion of the total contract value, and its share will be determined by the final award. The Company expects to provide an update, including Jiangsu HUHU’s share of the contract value, once the bid results are announced.

“Testing and certification sit at the point where a gas system either qualifies for production or it doesn’t, and that is where we have positioned Jiangsu HUHU in this consortium,” said Mr. Yujun Xiao, Chief Executive Officer of HUHUTECH. “By teaming with an experienced engineering partner, we can compete for larger fab expansion projects than we would bid on alone, and this is a model we intend to repeat: pairing our testing, certification, and compliance capabilities with engineering partners on fab projects across China. We look forward to reporting the outcome of this bid.”
