Buscar Company Acquires 50% Stake in Terramer, Inc. via Stock Swap, Bolstering Sustainable Innovation with Hemp-Based Bioplastics

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Buscar Company (OTC: CGLD), a diversified holding company focused on natural resources and sustainable energy, today announced the acquisition of a 50% stake in Terramer, Inc., a pioneer in hemp-based bioplastics, through a strategic stock swap transaction. This move marks a significant step in Buscar’s diversification strategy, blending its expertise in resource development with cutting-edge green technology to address the global plastic pollution crisis.

Terramer, Inc. is the developer of TERBO-1000, a proprietary hemp-based bioplastic that is 100% biodegradable within 180 days and leaves no microplastic residue. With a 350,000 sq. ft. production facility capable of producing 300 million pounds annually, Terramer is poised to disrupt the $44 billion bioplastics market. The company has already secured $6.8 million in agreed purchase orders and over $80 million in signed letters of intent (LOIs) from the major household brands

Driving Sustainability Through Hemp Innovation
Under this partnership, Buscar and Terramer plan to accelerate the development and commercialization of TERBO-1000, leveraging industrial hemp to produce scalable, compostable plastics for industries including packaging, food service, automotive, and construction. The collaboration aligns with Buscar’s vision of integrating sustainable technologies into its portfolio while capitalizing on the demand for eco-friendly alternatives to petroleum-based plastics.

“Acquiring a significant stake in Terramer represents a transformative milestone for Buscar,” said Alexander Dekhtyar, CEO and Chairman of Buscar Company. “By combining Terramer’s groundbreaking bioplastic technology with our financial and operational strengths, we’re positioned to lead the charge in eliminating microplastic pollution while delivering value to shareholders and the planet.”

A Strategic Stock Swap
The transaction was executed through a stock swap, with Buscar issuing shares to Terramer stakeholders in exchange for a 50% equity position. This structure preserves cash and aligns the interests of both companies toward long-term growth. The deal also enhances Buscar’s holdings (which have been recently bolstered by a 70% surge in gold prices driving the value of its mining assets) by adding Terramer’s innovative IP and revenue-generating potential to its portfolio.

Future Plans and Market Impact
With Buscar’s support, Terramer aims to ramp up production of TERBO-1000 and expand its applications across high-impact sectors. Key initiatives include:

  • Scaling production to meet growing demand from B2B clients.
  • Enhancing R&D through Terramer’s AI-driven Terramer Designer Space to develop custom formulations.
  • Exploring carbon credit monetization opportunities tied to TERBO-1000’s lifecycle emissions reductions.

“Partnering with Buscar accelerates our mission to redefine sustainable materials,” said Paul Leslie Smith, CEO of Terramer, Inc. “Their resources and strategic vision will help us bring TERBO-1000 to a global scale, tackling plastic pollution head-on.”

Danish Government awards Norne Thorning Storage the License to explore the possibility of CO2 storage in Jutland

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, April 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Norne Thorning Storage ApS (“Norne”), a Fidelis New Energy, LLC company, has been awarded the Exploration License for the Thorning structure by the Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities. Norne will soon commence its exploration work program to gather the necessary information about the structure to thoroughly evaluate and confirm its suitability for safe and permanent CO2 storage. If the structure is suitable for storage, this could pave the way for storage before 2030.

Norne will be the operator of the Thorning exploration license working alongside their joint venture partner Nordsøfonden, representing the Danish state. If data acquisition and evaluation confirm that the Thorning geological structure is suitable for safe and permanent storage of CO2, then Norne and Nordsøfonden would then have the exclusive right to apply for a CO2 storage license, which will be subject to the approval of the Danish Energy Agency (“DEA”). In addition to successfully obtaining the CO2 storage license, all relevant environmental permits will be in place and all financial and safety related requirements met before the establishment of any CO2 storage facility.

“The exploration work program has been carefully designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the deep geological structures and their ability to safely and permanently store CO2. Ross, Norne’s Exclusive Subsurface and Wells Partner and their long experience with the subsoil of Denmark has been instrumental in planning the work program, which includes extensive seismic sensors aerial surveys with minimal environmental impacts, extensive 3D seismic surveys, and exploration and appraisal wells,” said Lars Bo Christiansen, President of Norne Climate Impact.

The award of the Thorning exploration license is a major milestone for Norne. Norne has been sponsored by Fidelis New Energy, LLC since 2021 and was chosen as an EU Project of Common Interest (“PCI”) by the European Commission in 2023. Adding the Thorning structure to Norne will bring Denmark and the EU one step closer towards its decarbonization goals with the potential to offer important hard-to-abate industries an integrated solution to reduce their CO2 emissions.

“We look forward to working alongside the DEA and collaborating with Nordsøfonden to explore the CO2 storage potential of the Danish subsoil, with the hope of establishing Thorning as a safe site for CO2 storage,” said Bengt Järlsjö, Co-Founder and President of Fidelis New Energy. “This license award highlights Denmark’s leadership in decarbonization once again, aiding both Danish and European industries in their pursuit of significant carbon emission reductions. Since 2021, we have engaged actively with the Danish government, local authorities, Port of Aalborg, and industry partners throughout Denmark and Europe. Our vision has consistently centered on promoting effective and safe onshore carbon capture and storage policies, while creating efficient and cost-effective CO2 infrastructure solutions for Denmark and Europe.”

Exploration and potential development of geological storage of CO2 is important for Denmark to achieve its carbon reduction targets for 2030 and beyond. Norne’s long and engaging discussions with Danish and EU industry players that need CO2 storage to decarbonize has enabled a concept where costs and environmental impact of Danish CO2 reductions can be significantly reduced as facilities are utilized by both Danish and EU emitters. Norne enables multiple modes of delivery of CO2 to Thorning. A CO2 receiving terminal at the Port of Aalborg will make it possible to receive CO2 from Danish, Baltic and European CO2 emitters.

About Norne:
Norne, also referred to as the Norne Carbon Storage Hub, consists of CO2 receiving facilities, pipelines, and storage facilities designed for safe and permanent storage of both biogenic CO2 and CO2 from hard- to-abate industries such as cement plants. Norne aims to receive and store CO2 from Danish and European industries that have no alternatives other than carbon capture and storage to reduce their carbon emissions. Henkel Makes Further Progress Across All Areas of Its Sustainability Strategy

  • Climate action: reduction of CO2 emissions in production per ton of product by 64 percent (base year: 2017)
  • Circular economy: use of recycled plastic in consumer goods packaging rises to 25 percent
  • Equal opportunities: significantly more employees take parental leave in 2024; share of women in management climbs to 42 percent
  • Fair working conditions: new additional assessment introduced to ensure living wages worldwide
  • Governance: first sustainability report applying all content requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)

Düsseldorf, Germany, April 11, 2025 /3BL/ – Henkel has published its sustainability report for 2024. The company has advanced further, especially in the areas of climate protection and circular economy, but also in social issues. Already this year, Henkel voluntarily reports in line with the content-related requirements of the European Union’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

“We have made great progress and delivered tangible improvements in sustainability over the past year – across all areas of our sustainability strategy,” said Carsten Knobel, CEO of Henkel. “Even in challenging times, we stand by our fundamental values: through our products, processes, and contribution to society, we are committed to a more sustainable world. This is also reflected in our net-zero roadmap aimed at reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 90 percent by 2045.”

“I am proud of our progress on key sustainability initiatives,” said Sylvie Nicol, Executive Vice President Human Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainability. “In 2024, for example, we have increased the proportion of recycled plastic in our consumer goods packaging to 25 percent. And we introduced gender-neutral parental leave of at least eight weeks with full pay worldwide – which has received an excellent response. In addition, we have implemented the first sustainability report in line with the content requirements of the new ESRS, which has also further improved our internal processes.”

New targets for climate protection

By the end of last year, Henkel had reduced CO2 emissions in its production per ton of product by 64 percent compared to the base year 2017 and increased the energy purchased from renewable sources to 47 percent.

Henkel also set Net-Zero targets last year, which cover a larger part of the value chain than its climate targets before. By 2045, Henkel aims to reduce its absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90 percent. As short-term climate targets, Henkel plans to reduce its absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42 percent and its absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 30 percent by 2030 (compared to 2021). The new targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), a climate change organization that supports companies in setting GHG reduction targets that are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. By the end of 2024, Henkel had reduced its scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions by 20 percent (compared to 2021).

To further decarbonize the value chain and better capture CO2 emissions in the supply chain (scope 3), Henkel accelerated its engagement program for its global suppliers last year. It collects emissions data and defines specific measures to reduce emissions.

Sustainable packaging solutions

Henkel has further increased the share of recycled plastic in its consumer goods packaging to 25 percent. By the end of this year, the company expects to reach 30 percent.

Two examples highlight this progress: In Europe, Henkel has increased the share of post-consumer recyclate in liquid detergent and hair care packaging to at least 50 percent. This includes brands such as Persil, Weißer Riese, Spee and Gliss. In North America, the company has introduced a new packaging for its liquid hand soap Dial, which is now made of 100 percent recycled plastic.

Henkel also aims to design all consumer packaging for recycling. End of 2024, this share had reached 89 percent.

With the adhesive innovations of its Adhesive Technologies business unit, Henkel is setting new standards for more sustainable packaging. For example, a new hot melt adhesive of the Technomelt brand, which is used for food packaging, among other things, consists of at least 49 percent bio-based raw materials. At the same time, significantly less energy is required for customers during the application phase of the product.

Equal opportunities and fair working conditions

A milestone in the area of diversity and equality is the gender-neutral parental leave program that the company has introduced for all of its 47,000 employees worldwide. It guarantees a minimum of eight weeks of fully paid parental leave and applies to all family constellations, including adopted or foster children, LGBTQ+ couples and single parents. The response to the offer was very positive; around 30 percent more employees worldwide took parental leave than in the previous year.

In addition, Henkel was able to increase the proportion of women in management to 42 percent.

As part of its commitment to fair working conditions, the company has introduced an additional annual assessment to ensure that the remuneration of Henkel employees worldwide remains consistently aligned with local living wage benchmarks.

External recognition for sustainability performance

External, independent rating agencies have once again recognized Henkel’s sustainability progress. Among others, the ESG rating agency EcoVadis awarded Henkel the Gold Medal. This makes Henkel one of the top five percent of the companies evaluated. In addition, Henkel was recognized as a Top-Rated Company by Morningstar Sustainalytics for its sustainability performance. And the company received another award from Corporate Knights in its 2025 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World ranking. Henkel was also honoured with the Sustainable Future Award 2024 by the F.A.Z. Institute and Cision Germany for its many years of credible sustainability communication.

Elizabeth Pike Named Global Winner of the 2024 IOC Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champions Award

International Olympic Committee news

Professor Elizabeth Pike PhD, a leading expert in sport and gender from the University of Hertfordshire (Great Britain), is the Global Winner of the 2024 International Olympic Committee (IOC) Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Champions Award. On the eve of International Women’s Day, the IOC is celebrating Pike, alongside five continental winners who are all breaking barriers in #SportForAllWomenAndGirls.

A Professor in Sport, Health and Exercise, Pike has dedicated her career to creating life-changing opportunities for women in sport and empowering female coaches.

While gender parity was reached for athletes competing at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, only 13 per cent of coaches were women. As the project director of the Women in Sport High-Performance (WISH) programme, a mentorship and training programme for female coaches supported by Olympic Solidarity, Pike has helped tackle this under-representation.

Some 120 female coaches from 22 sports and 59 countries have graduated from the programme, equipped with the tools needed to take on roles at the highest level of their sport. Ten WISH graduates were in coaching roles at Paris 2024.

Elizabeth Pike’s dedication to creating opportunities for women in sport, especially through the WISH programme, greatly contributes to strengthening gender equality in sport. Her work has made a significant impact on the lives of many female coaches, and we celebrate her remarkable achievements today.

Thomas Bach
IOC President

Pike emphasised that her work, part of a larger team effort, is aimed at helping others reach their full potential. “I feel very honoured the IOC has recognised the part that I have played in helping to unlock the full potential of really talented individuals,” Pike said.

“What we do is try to work with the women to identify what tools, resources and support they need to succeed at the high-performance level – as a coach, but also as a leader,” Pike added.

Pike is also the co-founder of the Anita White Foundation and Fund, which supports female leaders in sport around the world; a co-developer of the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy with the Females Achieving Brilliance network; and the research lead for the International Working Group (IWG) on Women and Sport.

The 2024 continental winners alongside Pike are:

  • Africa: Syra Sylla, Senegal
  • Americas: Patricia María Malik de Tchara, Argentina
  • Asia: Dunya Abutaleb OLY, Saudi Arabia
  • Europe: Lubomira Kozanova, Slovakia
  • Oceania: Annett Edmondson, Australia

Empowering women to coach at elite levels

Pike, who was interested in sport from a young age, was struck by the systemic gender inequality in sports research during her university studies. She embarked on an academic career focusing on the power of sport for social inclusion. Her background has given her excellent insight into the barriers facing women in coaching.

“The WISH programme is very much about not fixing the woman, but fixing the system. So we talk to them about how we can dismantle these obstacles to create this more inclusive and equitable system,” Pike said.

WISH was launched in 2022, following a successful pilot in 2019, to support the Olympic Movement’s drive to achieve gender equality at all levels in sport.

The coaches from WISH are not only making changes for themselves and their athletes, but they also inspire other women and girls in sport. They do this by starting to work with the cultures and the systems in their countries and their sports to demonstrate the value and the positive impact of gender equality.

Professor Elizabeth Pike PhD
Global Winner of the 2024 IOC Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champions Award

While the WISH programme focuses on elite coaching, female representation at the grassroots level is also crucial.

“For there to be real change for women coaching at all levels, there are multiple stages, and having women coaching at the grassroots level is absolutely key to all of this,” Pike said. “The first thing we need to do is to raise awareness of the issue – to advocate for and showcase successful women coaches locally and globally. Then, we need to challenge those stereotypes and highlight the importance of gender diversity and sports leadership at all levels, including at grassroots. Then we need to instigate the deliberate practice to address the issue, through sustained investments, National and International Federations having gender-equality action plans, and the importance of male allies.”

The power of grassroots sport

Pike has witnessed the power of grassroots sport in her own work with the Anita White Fund. The Fund supports women leaders globally, promoting social inclusion through projects which focus on grassroots sport for women and girls, many of whom are living with disabilities. The projects foster networking and coalition building, often combining sports development with economic advancement opportunities for women.

Such grassroots projects are vital in giving women and girls the opportunities linked to participating in sport.

“We know that girls who play sports develop confidence, can learn to work in teams, tend to stay in school longer and often get better jobs,” Pike said. “We also know engagement in sports has significant physical, mental and social benefits for older women, particularly in those activities that emphasise social interaction, and that in itself can challenge gender and age stereotypes to advance gender equality across all ages.”

Celebrating inspiring changemakers

Known as the IOC Women and Sport Awards from 2000 to 2021, the IOC GEDI Champions Awards celebrate the outstanding work of inspiring changemakers who are committed to promoting the advancement of gender equality, diversity and inclusion in and through sport.

Six GEDI Award winners are announced each year – one at world level and one each for Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

Hartford Foundation Launches First-of-Its-Kind Scholarship Providing Up to $100,000 for Hartford Public School Students

Unprecedented $20 Million Initiative Aims to Eliminate College Debt, Drive Economic Growth, and Set a New National Model for Student Success

HARTFORD, Conn., April 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving today announces the launch of the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund, a pioneering new initiative that provides qualifying Hartford Public School students with up to $100,000 over four years to pursue higher education — without the crushing burden of student debt.

“Every student deserves the freedom to choose their own future without being held back by financial barriers.”

This first-of-its-kind program, developed in partnership with Hartford Promise, marks a bold investment in education, economic mobility, and Greater Hartford’s future as part of the Foundation’s 100th anniversary initiatives.

The scale of the initiative — the number of students it will support, the size of the financial investment, and the breadth of resources provided — is unlike any other program of its kind in the U.S.

With an initial $20 million investment, the Hartford Foundation will award each qualifying member of the Class of 2025 with $20,000 annually, which paired with Hartford Promise’s existing $5,000 annual scholarship award, will provide scholars with up to $25,000 per year — or up to $100,000 over four years.

More than 110 members of the Class of 2025 will receive the scholarship, with plans to expand the program to support as many as 500 students annually.

“Every student deserves the freedom to choose their own future without being held back by financial barriers,” said Jay Williams, President and CEO of the Hartford Foundation. “The Greater Futures Scholarship Fund is more than just tuition assistance — it’s a comprehensive support system that will change lives, strengthen communities, and serve as a national model for education-driven economic transformation.”

A Scholarship Unlike Any Other

In addition to significantly lowering or eliminating student debt for hundreds of future graduates annually, the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund delivers each student up to 10 years of wraparound support through Hartford Promise’s highly successful Reaching Forward, Reaching Back program. Services include:

  • One-on-one coaching for academic and career guidance
  • Financial assistance for books, laptops, and emergency needs
  • Mental health support and wellness resources
  • Soft skills training in time management, professionalism, and resume writing
  • Career development including internships, mock interviews, and networking opportunities.

With a last-dollar scholarship paired with full wraparound support, the program is designed to empower students to excel in their classwork, graduate from college, and continue to develop as leaders in their communities.

Who Qualifies?

The Greater Futures Scholarship Fund is open to all Hartford Public School students who meet the following criteria:

  • Hartford resident enrolled continuously in Hartford Public Schools since 9th grade.
  • 93% attendance rate or higher throughout high school.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.

An Investment in Hartford’s Future

The impact of student debt extends far beyond individual graduates — it affects families, communities, and the broader economy.

By significantly reducing or eliminating college debt, the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund will empower graduates to buy homes, start families, invest in businesses, and build wealth — without the constraints of student loans.

The new scholarship will also have tangible benefits for the city of Hartford, providing incentives for families to live in the city, send their children to city schools, and remain actively engaged in their educational journey.

“This program is truly transformative — not just for students, but for the entire city of Hartford,” said Sivan Hines, M.D., president of Hartford Promise. “It incentivizes families to stay in Hartford, strengthens our local workforce, and sets a new precedent for how philanthropy can drive economic growth.”

Join the Movement
As part of its centennial celebration in 2025, the Hartford Foundation has also launched a $10 million fundraising campaign to expand the reach of the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund. Donors and corporate partners are invited to be part of this groundbreaking initiative to ensure that every Hartford student has the freedom to dream, achieve, and succeed.

“This isn’t just about college — it’s about creating generational change that elevates all Hartford residents,” Williams said. “Together, we can break the barriers of college debt, open doors for more employment opportunities, and set a bold new standard for what’s possible when philanthropy, higher education, and policy makers work together.”
