Why it matters
- America’s next chapter depends on innovation and service
- Technology alone isn’t enough; people drive progress
- Communities and collaboration help shape the nation’s future
As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the nation’s story is being told not only through our history, but through the people and ideas shaping its future.
That spirit is at the center of America250, the nonpartisan commission created to commemorate the nation’s semiquincentennial in 2026. Through programs centered on innovation, civic engagement, volunteerism and education, America250 is encouraging Americans not only to reflect on the country’s past, but also to help build what comes next.
Why Leidos is partnering with America250
As America250’s Founding Innovation Partner, Leidos is helping support a nationwide effort that recognizes a simple truth: America’s future will be shaped not only by technological advancement, but by the people who choose to put their talents, ideas and energy toward something greater than themselves.
The partnership reflects values that have long guided Leidos – innovation, service and a commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work. It also provides an opportunity to engage employees, customers and communities in conversations about the future while honoring the spirit of service and civic participation that has defined the American experience for generations.
Advancing innovation for America’s future
Innovation has been a defining characteristic of America’s story for 250 years. From scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements to new ways of solving complex challenges, progress has always depended on people willing to think differently and act boldly.
This focus has been central to Leidos’ participation in America250 initiatives, including the America Innovates series, which brings together leaders from industry, academia and government to explore the ideas and technologies that will help define the future.
Earlier this year, Leidos Chief Technology Officer Ted Tanner joined fellow innovators at the America Innovates Expo to discuss how emerging technologies can help strengthen America’s competitiveness, security and prosperity in the decades ahead.
Innovation is one of America’s enduring strengths, but its true value comes from the impact it creates. The future will belong to those who can transform ideas into real-world solutions that improve lives, strengthen communities and help solve meaningful challenges.
