Yourway Learning Named FETC PitchFest Finalist for Pedagogy-First AI Innovation

MIAMI LAKES, Fla., Jan. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Yourway Learning has been selected as a finalist in the FETC PitchFest at the Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC), one of the nation’s premier gatherings of education leaders and innovators.

PitchFest 2.0 brought together cutting-edge EdTech companies to compete live at FETC in a new interactive format where attendees voted on emerging solutions shaping the future of teaching and learning. Finalists were selected based on their potential to deliver meaningful, measurable impact in K–12 classrooms and districts nationwide.

Yourway Learning earned its finalist position for its district-ready, customizable suite of AI services designed to strengthen instructional coherence, enable personalized learning, and empower educators as the primary decision-makers in instruction.

The company’s PitchFest presentation was delivered by Carolyn Hanser during the live finalist session before an audience of education leaders and industry experts.

“The response we saw at PitchFest validated what we’re hearing from districts across the country: educators want AI solutions that work with them, not around them,” said Stephanie Spiritoso, Director of Marketing at Yourway Learning. “Within minutes of our pitch, we had district leaders at our booth asking how quickly they could pilot our platform. They’re hungry for AI that integrates seamlessly into existing instructional workflows, respects educator expertise, and delivers the kind of practical, trustworthy impact that translates directly to student outcomes.”

Yourway Learning partners with schools and districts to deliver research-informed, standards-aligned, and ethically designed AI tools, assistants, and activities that bring clarity and coherence, and so much more than time savings.

DentaQuest Contributes $30,000 to University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics

The investment supports expanding the Geriatric and Special Needs Dentistry Program

WELLESLEY, Mass., Jan. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — DentaQuest, part of Sun Life U.S., today announced a $30,000 contribution to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. The donation supports the college’s Geriatric and Special Needs Dentistry Program, which addresses complex challenges related to aging and special needs, and provides comprehensive dental services to these vulnerable populations.

This donation is DentaQuest’s most recent investment to support efforts to diversify and expand the dental workforce. The U.S. population of adults ages 65+ is growing, necessitating the need for more geriatric dental care specialists. This funding will help attract talented dental residents, preparing them to treat this underserved population and encouraging an interest in academia. The program has produced 19 graduates to date, helping to fill vacant faculty positions nationwide.

“This contribution from DentaQuest and Sun Life is an important investment in the clinicians and educators who will shape the future of geriatric and special needs dentistry,” said Dr. Leonardo Marchini, professor and Chair of the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry at the University of Iowa. “Our residents gain experience caring for patients with complex medical and behavioral needs, and support like this allows us to expand that training and reach more individuals who rely on such oral health expertise. We are grateful for this partnership and the shared commitment to improving care for vulnerable populations.”

The program is recognized as a leader in efforts to address the growing challenge of ensuring geriatric and special needs populations have access to oral care. It is known for employing mobile dental units to deliver comprehensive care to institutionalized older adults and focusing on the community’s future oral health needs.

“Sun Life and DentaQuest are proud to support programs that strengthen care for people who often face the greatest barriers to oral health,” said Dr. Todd Gray, chief dental officer at Sun Life U.S. “The University of Iowa’s commitment to training specialists who can confidently serve older adults and individuals with unique care needs aligns with our mission to expand access to care for higher-risk communities. By helping cultivate emerging leaders and educators in this field, we’re investing in a future where more patients receive the tailored, compassionate dental care they deserve.”

Prior to this contribution, DentaQuest has supported a number of Iowa community-based non-profits including the Mission of Mercy and Focus on Diabetes. DentaQuest this year has also supported academic dentistry programs at the University of Oklahoma, Louisiana State University, and several other colleges and schools across the country.

Both teams will incorporate pink into their game-day attire as a visible show of solidarity with those affected by breast and gynecologic cancers. Net proceeds from the evening will be donated directly to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, continuing a tradition rooted in awareness, compassion, and community impact.

  • General Admission Tickets: $5
  • T-Shirt: $20

Ticket Sales:

Since its inception in 2010, Pink the Rink has become a signature event for Pittsford Hockey, raising more than $121,000 to support local individuals and families navigating cancer. What began as a simple idea has grown into one of the most anticipated nights of the hockey season, bringing together players, families, sponsors, and fans for a meaningful cause.

The event was originally inspired by Celeste Frohm, a Friends of Pittsford Hockey Board Member, after watching her son participate in a similar fundraiser while playing collegiate hockey at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Her vision to combine the energy of high school hockey with community-driven philanthropy continues to shape the event more than a decade later.

Event Highlights

Attendees can look forward to an exciting and impactful evening, including:

  • Back-to-back hockey games featuring Pittsford JV and Varsity teams vs. the Fairport Red Raiders
  • Pink-themed uniforms worn by both teams
  • Honor signs recognizing individuals who have battled cancer
  • Chuck-A-Puck contests and additional fundraising activities
  • Concessions and community spirit throughout the rink

Sponsorship & Support

Pink the Rink is made possible through the support of local families and businesses. Sponsorship opportunities include Honor Sign Sponsors, Corporate T-Shirt Sponsors, and Signature Corporate Sponsors, with recognition throughout the rink, in programs, on event T-shirts, and via in-game announcements. All proceeds directly benefit the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

Pink the Rink is more than a hockey event — it is a reminder of the power of sport to unite a community in support of something bigger than the game.

The Pittsford Hockey community invites fans, sponsors, and supporters to join them on January 31st as they look to make the 16th Annual Pink the Rink the most impactful one yet.
