Direct Relief and FedEx Respond to Texas Flooding With Critical Medical Aid

When severe flooding struck Texas, homes were destroyed, roads were impassable, and access to medical care became critical. In response, Direct Relief quickly mobilized to support healthcare providers and first responders on the front lines of the crisis.

Among the most urgent needs were emergency medical backpacks, packed with life-saving medications, medical tools, and essential supplies. These backpacks were requested to support ongoing search and rescue efforts and connect people facing flood effects with needed healthcare and services in the hardest-hit areas. However, with infrastructure severely disrupted, getting these supplies to where they were needed most was a challenge.

That’s where FedEx stepped in. Through their in-kind shipping support, FedEx ensured the timely delivery of six emergency medical backpacks to Texas. They also funded the backpacks, making it possible for Direct Relief to provide this vital assistance.

These backpacks will supply healthcare workers and first responders with the necessary tools to care for flood survivors, helping them provide immediate relief in an already overwhelming situation. The collaboration between Direct Relief and FedEx highlights the importance of swift and reliable support in times of crisis, ensuring life-saving resources reach communities in need.

This effort underscores how organizations can come together to make a tangible difference when disaster strikes. With FedEx’s logistics expertise and Direct Relief’s response efforts, communities in Texas are receiving the support they need to recover and rebuild.

LG’S ENDANGERED SPECIES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN WELCOMES THE PYGMY OWL

Community Votes Shine a Spotlight on the Pygmy Owl in Latest Endangered Species Campaign in New York Times Square Billboard

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — LG Electronics unveils the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl as the latest animal featured in its 3D anamorphic billboard series in New York City’s Times Square. Part of LG’s ongoing Endangered Species Series, the campaign highlights vulnerable species, selected by the community.

Launched in 2024, the LG Endangered Species Series in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), aims to educate K-12 students and raise awareness on biodiversity, wildlife conservation, and climate action, while reinforcing LG’s broader commitment to environmental responsibility and its global brand promise, “Life’s Good.”

This series brings to life LG’s partnership with NBC’s The Americas, a 10-part nature documentary series showcasing the wildlife and wild places of North and South America, including the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl and other vulnerable and endangered species. The series is streaming on Peacock.

Listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act, the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl stands just six inches tall (about the size of a soda can) and is native to southern Arizona, Texas, and parts of Mexico. This small, fierce owl faces growing threats from habitat loss, fragmentation, invasive species, and climate change.

Previous features in the campaign include the snow leopard, bald eagle, Galapagos sea lion, red wolf, monarch butterfly, and West Indian manatee. The cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl was selected by the public through online and in-person voting conducted earlier this year, reflecting strong community interest in raising awareness for lesser-known species. Additional animals will be revealed throughout 2025.

“At LG, we believe ‘Life’s Good’ means creating a better, more sustainable future for all,” said Jeannie Lee, director of Corporate Marketing at LG Electronics USA. “Through our Endangered Species Series and our partnership with The National Wildlife Federation and NBC’s The Americas, we’re using the power of immersive storytelling to help inspire people to care for and protect the natural world we all share.”

As part of its continued partnership with NWF, LG Electronics has launched an educational initiative to engage K-12 students in conservation efforts. The program offers interactive content that highlights the importance of at-risk and endangered species in ecosystems, while empowering students with practical steps to protect biodiversity and habitats. These free resources are available online for educators, students, and families.

Additionally, NWF has published a blog spotlighting the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl – featuring unique behavioral insights and the species’ ecological role. Students and nature enthusiasts can also test their knowledge through an interactive quiz designed to foster a deeper understanding of the pygmy-owls and other owls.

LG’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the classroom through its support of NWF’s EcoSchools U.S. and EcoLeaders programs, which equip students, educators, and communities with tools for real-world environmental impact. To help drive these efforts, LG has pledged $170,000 to NWF to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders and advance the protection of wildlife and wild places.

The Americas is now streaming on Peacock. Explore The Americas watch kits from NWF, which features educational activities, amazing animal facts, and actions families can take to help protect wildlife like the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl and more.

GoDaddy 2024 Sustainability Report: Environmental Impact | Climate Change

Originally published in GoDaddy’s 2024 Sustainability Report

Climate Change

We operate with the future in mind.

GoDaddy remains conscious of our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. We prioritize efficiency, productivity, and sustainable practices across our operations and measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to annually to track our progress. We hold ourselves to our commitment to be good environmental stewards and focus on areas where our impact is most significant — our data centers and corporate real estate.

Through our recently completed DMA and climate scenario analysis, we took steps to identify and assess potential climate-related risks and opportunities within our operations and supply chain over multiple time horizons. Both our DMA, as referenced in the Sustainability Governance section, and our climate scenario analysis, which is discussed in detail in the Frameworks & Metrics section (page 48), support our sustainability approach and strategy.

In 2024, we introduced our new Environmental Policy, detailing our approach to climate change, resource usage, biodiversity, and our high standards for our suppliers. The Nominating and Governance Committee of the Board approved and oversees this Environmental Policy. We believe that we can continue operating our business responsibly, while minimizing the environmental impact of our operations and supply chain and complying with applicable laws.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Through our GHG inventory process we closely monitor emissions from our operations and supply chain. The inventory results help to inform the key areas where we can improve as we evaluate our environmental impact and opportunities to drive value.

In 2023, we surpassed our initial goal of reducing scope 1 and 2 (market- based) emissions by 50% from a 2019 baseline—achieving this milestone two years ahead of schedule. Building on this success, in 2024 we set our new target to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions (market-based) by 90% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline.

As of December 31, 2024, we exceeded our planned emissions reductions, achieving an 88% reduction of scope 1 and 2 emissions (market-based) relative to our 2019 baseline. The 2024 GHG inventory results reflect our continued focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy. For additional details on these efforts, please refer to the Energy section (page 45).

GoDaddy follows the GHG Protocol (operational control approach) and our established Inventory Management Plan to complete our annual emissions calculations. Until we achieve our new reduction target, we intend to measure our interim progress annually by comparing our scope 1 and scope 2 (market-based) emissions at the end of the relevant reporting year to the same emissions from December 31, 2019.

We seek opportunities to refine our calculation methodologies, where relevant, in line with the GHG Protocol and best practices. In 2024, we added scope 3 category 9 Downstream Transportation and Distribution to our GHG inventory to capture emissions from our products after the point of sale. We also aim to evaluate opportunities to reduce scope 3 emissions.

  • 1%: Scope 1
  • 5%: Scope 2 – Market-Based
  • 65%: Scope 3 – Purchased Goods and Services
  • 3%: Scope 3 – Capital Goods
  • 3%: Scope 3 – Fuel and Energy Related Activities
  • <1%: Scope 3 – Upstream Transportation and Distribution
  • <1%: Scope 3 – Waste Generated in Operations
  • 2%: Scope 3 – Business Travel
  • <1%: Scope 3 – Downstream Transportation and Distribution
  • 4%: Scope 3 – Employee Commuting
  • 15%: Scope 3 – Use of Sold Products
  • <1%: Scope 3 – End of Life Treatment
  • <1%: Scope 3 – Investments

Operating Efficiently

Protecting the environment starts with efficiently managing the resources our operations consume. We seek opportunities wherever possible to minimize water use, waste generation, energy consumption, and pollution. Through reuse, recycling, and thoughtful consumption, we also work to minimize waste and e-waste, ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations related to air, land, and water.

Our Global Real Estate and Workspaces (GREWS) Team collaborates with IT to responsibly manage e-waste, including batteries, laptops, and other technology. We repurpose and reuse materials when we can, but when items reach end-of-life, we ensure they are sustainably recycled through our trusted third-party partners.

Our hybrid work model reduces GoDaddy’s demand for physical office space. The GREWS Team continues to optimize our real estate footprint and coworking spaces by evaluating utilization patterns, reducing wasted resources, cutting costs, and lowering our operational energy footprint. Additionally, our data centers play a significant role in our operational GHG emissions. For details on our approach to operating our data centers efficiently refer to the Energy section (page 45).

How PotlatchDeltic Identifies Special Sites

Sustainable forestry requires a thoughtful balance between responsible resource management and the protection of ecologically, culturally, and historically significant sites. At PotlatchDeltic, foresters combine technology with hands-on expertise to identify and preserve these special places, so that forests remain productive while safeguarding their conservation value.

Some areas within working forests hold unique ecological or cultural importance. These sites may include rare ecosystems, critical wildlife habitats, historic landmarks, and indigenous cultural sites. PotlatchDeltic follows rigorous standards, as required by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) standards. Identifying and protecting these places requires more than just policy – it takes careful planning, innovative technology, and deep local knowledge.

Before any operational activities begin, foresters follow a robust standard operating procedure, which includes using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze spatial data, overlay habitat and environmental restrictions, and pinpoint areas that require special care. By identifying these areas early, foresters can make informed decisions that balance conservation with responsible land use.

Technology has significantly improved the ability to detect and protect special sites. For example, drone technology has helped foresters locate sensitive wildlife habitats, such as gopher tortoise burrows, that might otherwise go unnoticed. However, technology alone isn’t enough. Engaging with local stakeholders, including indigenous groups and historical societies, adds a crucial layer of insight. These collaborations help verify a site’s cultural and environmental significance.

Once identified, these special sites can become an integral part of PotlatchDeltic’s conservation strategy. Protections are embedded into the company’s GIS database, so that conservation measures can be considered in connection with timber harvesting, road placement, and land-use planning. Foresters carefully tailor conservation efforts to each site’s unique needs. In areas with endangered species, buffer zones are established, and harvest schedules may be adjusted to minimize disturbance. For newly discovered nesting sites, forestry operations may be postponed until the nesting season concludes, so that wildlife populations can remain undisturbed. In riparian zones, best management practices focus on protecting water quality and maintaining habitat conditions for aquatic species.

Training plays a vital role in maintaining these protections. Foresters and contractors are equipped with knowledge and tools that enable them to recognize special places in the course of their field work. Structured environmental management systems bring conservation priorities to the forefront, with automated planning tools that flag restrictions tied to sensitive areas. Annual inspections and compliance monitoring on larger, unique aeras further reinforce these safeguards, so that special places can continue to provide ecological and cultural value over time.

The importance of safeguarding special places has never been greater. By integrating technology, stakeholder engagement, and best management practices, the company takes steps to safeguard critical habitats, historic sites, and high conservation value areas while maintaining a sustainable supply of timber. PotlatchDeltic’s approach demonstrates that sustainable forestry and conservation can coexist.

Low Cost Pet Vax Shifts Outdoor Clinic Hours to Beat Texas Summer Heat – Now Open at 8 AM Saturdays, 9 AM Sundays

IRVING, Texas, July 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As temperatures continue to soar during Texas’ “dog days” of summer, Low Cost Pet Vax is adjusting its summer schedule. Starting in mid July, Low Cost Pet Vax’s outdoor pet vaccination pop ups now open at 8:00AM (previously 9:00AM) so pets and their owners can beat the heat.

“Heat stress isn’t just uncomfortable; it’s a serious health risk for pets in our area,” said Dr. Rodney Munsell, the owner and CEO of Low Cost Pet Vax. “By opening earlier, we’re protecting pet’s paws, preventing heat exhaustion, and making visits safer.”

Texas summers are at their hottest mid July through late August, and temperatures can easily get in the triple digits in cities such as Dallas, where Low Cost Pet Vax operates. Such conditions can be dangerous, especially for pets.

Low Cost Pet Vax’s Summer Safety Measures at a Glance:

  • Clinic Hours: Saturday, 8AM–3PM; Sunday, 9AM-3PM
  • Cold water stations for both pets and owners.
  • Digital check‑in lets owners stay in air‑conditioned vehicles – no waiting outside.
  • Fast service minimizes time outdoors, which is especially critical during Texas humid summers.

Rising Texas temperatures can threaten pet health, causing heatstroke, dehydrated paw pads, and respiratory distress. Certain dog breeds are more susceptible to heat stroke, such as brachycephalic breeds. These dogs, also known as “short nosed dogs” include Boston Terriers, Pugs, English Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, and Boxers. Overweight, very old, and very young pets are also especially vulnerable to rising temperatures.

Low Cost Pet Vax clinics operate outside across Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston and Austin in partnership with local businesses. No appointment is needed – pet owners are recommended to arrive early and check in digitally to stay cool. Clinic locations and additional details are available at https://www.lowcostpetvaccinations.net

Low Cost Pet Vax clinics provide Rabies vaccinations at only $10, as well as other critical preventative care such as Distemper/Parvo vaccinations, heartworm testing, heartworm & flea prevention, and microchipping.
