Next-Gen Wellness Stack Combines Precision Science and Ancient Herbal Wisdom, From Visionary Founders of FK+

FK+ supplement-grade wellness products are designed to optimize focus, energy, relaxation, and sleep by harnessing the powerful synergy of functional ingredients—adaptogens, nootropics, and purposefully dosed cannabinoids—for peak human potential. FK+ is now available direct to consumers nationwide via fkplus.com.

MIAMI, May 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The founders of California’s renowned sustainable cannabis brand Flow Kana, together with leaders from one of the U.S. largest herbal tea brands, today announced the nationwide launch of FK+. The breakthrough line is scientifically formulated with synergistic combinations of proven functional ingredients at therapeutic doses for targeted, consistent effects. FK+ products live up to their promise of elevated experiences in your daily life all while promoting long-term health benefits.

“The entourage effect across botanicals and cannabinoids is the next frontier in the functional wellness revolution.”

FK+ meets increasing consumer demand for plant-based solutions for the most common concerns: stress management, mental and physical performance, and quality rest.

“FK+ represents the evolution of plant medicine—combining ancient herbal wisdom with modern scientific validation to create formulations that help people function at their best,” explains FK+ co-founder and COO Kevin Haslebacher, who previously served as Chief Operations Officer at one of the nation’s best-known herbal tea brands. Haslebacher is enthusiastic about bringing his experience in the realm of botanical wellness to the growing legal hemp industry: “The entourage effect across botanicals and cannabinoids is the next frontier in the functional wellness revolution,” he says.

Developed by a multidisciplinary team of plant scientists, certified herbalists, and doctorate-level cannabis experts, FK+ delivers innovative formulations with intentional neurochemical design for ready absorption and bioavailability. Unlike similar products on the market that promise quick fixes for general mood dysfunction with simple ingredients at ineffective doses, FK+ has created powerful precision stacks utilizing full-spectrum cannabinoids (like CBD, CBG, and THC-V) that act synergistically with smart herbs and functional mushrooms to modulate neurotransmitter systems, enhance cognitive function, and support multiple systems in the body.

While FK+ products all promise immediate and predictable results, the formulations are designed to become an integral part of consumers’ health habit stack, with regulating adaptogens and brain-boosting nootropics that provide maximum impact with daily use over two or more weeks.

FK+ formulations also answer the desire of modern cannabis enthusiasts who are evolving beyond recreational use and turning to purposefully dosed cannabinoids to enhance their daily functions. Each formula has been tested in group trials to ensure elevated experiences without a crushing high.

“FK+ meets the demands of health and wellness enthusiasts who aren’t just chasing highs but rather higher functioning, plant-powered optimization,” says co-founder Flavia Cassani. “FK+ is about helping people tune in, not check out, so they can experience higher productivity, better concentration, more restorative downtime, and deeper connectivity to the people and activities that bring them joy.” The FK+ product collection features four distinct formulations available as premium sungrown pre-rolls and fast-acting gummies:

  • FOCUS+: Enhances concentration and mental clarity. Think of this as your workday executive assistant or a centering aid for your next yoga class, while nootropics continue to boost your brain power over time. (Low Potency)
Gummies: Flavor: Passionfruit Guava | THC + CBC + THCv + CBG | Lion’s Mane + Ginkgo Biloba + Yerba Mate + Rosemary
    Pre-roll: THC + CBG + CBD | Terpenes: Limonene + Pinene
  • ENERGY+: Boosts sustainable vitality and motivation. Tackle the mountain or head out for an epic ride with a healthy supply of jitter-free energy. Maca and cordyceps support hormone balance and physical endurance. (High Potency)

    Pre-Roll: THC + CBG + THCv | Terpenes: Terpinolene + Limonene

Gummies: Flavor: Blackberry Açai | THC + CBD + CBN | Turkey Tail + Valerian Root + Passionflower
    Pre-Roll: THC + CBN | Terpene: β-Myrcene + Linalool

Sustainability also remains central to the FK+ mission. The company sources 100% sun-grown, sustainable cannabis from family farms, dramatically reducing environmental impact compared to industrial cultivation methods.

“Indoor cannabis cultivation is among the most energy-intensive agricultural practices today, on par with modern data centers,” notes co-founder Michael Steinmetz. “With the advent of hemp-derived THC, we finally have the opportunity to share superior sungrown cannabis far and wide, doing better for both people and the planet.”

FK+ products are now available nationwide through the company’s website, fkplus.com. Distribution through conventional retail and online delivery platforms is forthcoming.

In the Southwest Region, Chris Leon and Lizy Hoeffer took the top two spots, ranking #1 and #2, respectively. Rodrigo Ballon and Julio Silva were also recognized in NAHREP’s Top 100 Latino Mortgage Originators by Volume, earning the #4 and #6 positions.

“Helping more Hispanic and Latino families achieve the dream of homeownership is not just a goal at CCM — it’s a commitment we’re proud to deliver on,” said Ron Leonhardt, Founder and CEO of CCM. “Representation on this list is an honor, but what matters most is the real impact behind it. I’m proud of our team and ready to do even more in 2025.”

NAHREP’s Top 250 list honors mortgage professionals who are helping drive sustainable homeownership for Latino families, based on the number of closed mortgages during the 2024 calendar year.

In 2024, CCM helped nearly 14,000 Hispanic families purchase homes, funding a record $5 billion in home loan volume within those communities. CCM continues to invest in tools, resources and partnerships that provide authentic, focused support to Hispanic homebuyers — building borrower confidence and expanding access to homeownership.

The company is a national partner of NAHREP and actively participates in its annual homeownership and wealth building conference each year.

“These professionals represent the backbone of Latino homeownership growth in the U.S.,” said NAHREP National President Oralia Herrera. “They have guided thousands of families through a tough housing market, proving that trust, market expertise, and deep community ties are the true drivers of success in this industry.”

Marathon Petroleum Transport Driver Inducted Into NPTC Driver Hall of Fame

Key Points

  • Donald “Todd” Young was inducted into the Driver Hall of Fame by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) for his exceptional safety record and community service.
  • Young has driven for Marathon Petroleum for nearly 40 years and credits his disciplined lifestyle and adherence to the Smith System for his success as a driver.
  • Outside of work, Young has volunteered in his community, tutoring young people in science and math and delivering blood products for the American Red Cross.

Marathon Petroleum Transport Driver Donald “Todd” Young was inducted into the Driver Hall of Fame by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) for his outstanding achievements in safety and community service.

“Todd has earned this honor because of his superior career performance and truly deserves it,” said Markeise Moten, Transport Operations Supervisor at Marathon Petroleum. “Being added to the Driver Hall of Fame promotes excellence within the fleet and establishes a safety career goal for fellow drivers to target.”

Young is part of Marathon Petroleum’s Columbus fleet in Ohio. In 2013, he was named an NPTC Driver All Star for his safety record. To qualify for the Driver Hall of Fame, a driver must have three million miles, 20 years, or 50,000 hours of consecutive driving without a preventable accident.

Young started driving transport trucks while serving in the Marine Corps.

“I spent four years in the military hauling fuel and refueling various vehicles like fighter jets, tanks and jeeps all over the world,” said Young. “After I was honorably discharged at 22 years old, I took a job driving school buses, but that only paid about $4 an hour back then.”

A friend told him about a job driving for Marathon Petroleum, and he applied.

“I realized working for Marathon as a transport driver could help provide me a good foundation, where I could have the house, the car and start a family,” said Young.

Nearly 40 years later, he says he was right. He is home every night, and the pay, health and financial benefits, and stability in the industry have allowed him to live the life he wanted. He’s been married to his wife Marcy for 30 years, and they have two children, seven grandchildren and are fostering a child. He credits a disciplined lifestyle for allowing him to stay safe on the road for all these years.

“As a driver, you need good sleep habits and a happy home life, so you can focus when you are driving,” said Todd. “On the road, I strictly follow the Smith System for effective defensive driving. I don’t let myself get distracted when I’m behind the wheel. There’s too much at stake.”

“Being added to the Driver Hall of Fame promotes excellence within the fleet and establishes a safety career goal for fellow drivers to target.”

While Young says the core job of transporting products hasn’t changed much over the last four decades, he has seen technology affect the way they do business.

“We used to collect paper checks from the convenience store owner/operators for the gas we delivered,” said Young. “And we would call dispatch from the gas station phones to get updates on the schedule. Now we have GPS hardwired in the truck, safety cameras to monitor our driving, and we aren’t taking paper checks anymore.”

Outside of work, Young has spent time volunteering in his community. He has participated in classroom career day events and tutored young people in science and math – subjects he was naturally good at in school. He also volunteered with the American Red Cross, delivering blood products to local hospitals.

Looking back on his career, he’s proud of what he’s accomplished, and he encourages others to consider driving for Marathon Petroleum. He shares this advice with anyone looking for a long-term career.

“Show up on time. Do your job well and get home safe. You’re golden. It’s that simple,” said Young.

This Mini Golf Destination Grew With Digital Tools and Grit

Verizon

When LaNeta and Doug Roth opened Scary Strokes, an 11,000-square-foot black light mini golf course and arcade, they wanted to bring a little family vacation magic to their hometown of Waldorf, Maryland. They were novices to the family entertainment industry, but it wasn’t their first time investing in their community.

Years earlier, after moving to a sleepy town in Maryland with their young children, they found that the nearest kid-friendly activities were more than an hour’s drive away. So the Roths created a youth flag football league that eventually became the largest in the state. “At one time, we were the third largest in the world,” says LaNeta. “We were at maximum capacity at 500 kids. That [shows] how many kids were looking for something to do in our area.”

As their children grew older, the Roths wanted to create something they could still do as a family and turned their focus from youth sports to all-ages entertainment. The question the couple asked themselves was, “What is that one thing that people can do all the way to age 99?” They recalled how much fun they had as a family playing miniature golf during vacations, especially at night time. The wheels started turning on how they could bring the experience to their town.

Doug, a former specialized data technician in the U.S. armed forces, and LaNeta, a marketing and human resources professional, put their heads together to draft a business plan. And after a year researching community arcades and entertainment centers, the Roths opened Scary Strokes in 2017. It became a local favorite, earning accolades as a top family entertainment center.

But despite positive word of mouth, visibility remained a major hurdle. Tucked away in an industrial park with no street-facing signage, Scary Strokes was easy for potential customers to miss. And the Roths were still navigating a learning curve as new entrepreneurs. Startup costs came directly out of their personal savings. But they were ready for the challenge. “Anything good in life isn’t easy; you have to know that going in,” says LaNeta.

A hefty investment in a billboard ad gave them their first big influx of customers, but the difficulty of finding new customers in an increasingly digital world led LaNeta to the free courses and learning tools of Verizon Small Business Digital Ready. “I needed to know more about social media,” says LaNeta, who knew that online platforms were driving business. “That is where I needed to invest.” She launched a new social media account and grew it from the ground up, earning 10 times the average views for new accounts.

LaNeta says that Digital Ready’s live events are a unique program benefit. She appreciated the opportunity to learn from both the instructors and the fellow small business owners taking part in the events. “What I really liked was that the instructors were very open, honest and collaborative. There were people from all different generations, ages, races, salaries, all different walks of life,” says LaNeta. “You’re hearing struggles as well as [successes]. We may not be in the same industry at all, but I’m hearing what it is that’s working for other people.”

In 2024, the Roths were also awarded a $10,000 grant through the Digital Ready program, which enabled them to make much-needed repairs to Scary Strokes’ expansive facility. “The lights are not cheap since they are blacklight and LED,” LaNeta explains.

Like many small business owners, the Roths are considering growth strategies during a challenging economic time. Having expanded their arcade from 17 games to more than 40, they are exploring new locations that would enable them to continue growing and allow for more exterior signage. “Location is everything,” says LaNeta.

In the meantime, they continue to find success in holding to their motto for Scary Strokes, “Every experience matters,” and keeping their facility best-in-class, from cleanliness to customer service. For LaNeta, that translates to forging a memorable brand experience for customers. “You want to make sure people know who you are from the minute they walk through the door,” she says.

She also stresses the importance of continual learning: reading books, researching trends and tapping into the free offerings from the Digital Ready program. “I recommend [Digital Ready] to a lot of people,” says LaNeta. “Dive in and see what you’re wanting to look for. What is going to resonate with you? Where is it you want the most help? You can pick and choose the classes that will be beneficial to you.”

And more importantly, leveraging the Digital Ready community as a resource can be especially fortifying in navigating uncertainty. “It helps young entrepreneurs, as well as people who are older, understand that you’re not alone; other people are also having these [same] challenges,” LaNeta says.
