The Beauty Industry Is A Lie. Ellixi Is Here To Finally Tell The Truth.

CHELMSFORD, Mass., April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In a world where billion-dollar beauty giants pump out water-filled formulas and toxic chemicals in plastic tubes and slap on a “clean” label, Ellixi Beauty is calling BS—loudly, publicly, and without apology.

Founded by esthetician Amanda Bavaro and a small team of clean beauty rebels sick of being gas lit by ingredient lists, Ellixi is not your average skincare brand.  They don’t do fluff.  They don’t do fillers.  They do five-ingredient, waterless skincare made by real people who are done being sold shame from social media and beauty stores in a pretty package.  Let’s break it down:

  • Most of the 15,000 global beauty companies sell “clean beauty” with 30-100 ingredients, most of which you can’t pronounce, and many can be harmful to your health.
  • Ellixi sells 125 handcrafted products with only five all-natural luxe ingredients or less—no water, no preservatives and no corporate lies.
  • Most competitor’s “natural” often means synthetic derivatives with 12 step routines.
  • Ellixi’s “natural” means literally from nature. Period.

“Our products don’t just cleanse, beautify and exfoliate—they expose the fraud,” says co-founder Amanda Bavaro.  “We’re not interested in competing with these huge competitors.  We’re interested in dismantling everything they’ve brainwashed us into believing about beauty.”

What makes Ellixi dangerous to the beauty establishment?  They’re small.  They’re loud.  And they’re telling the truth. Every jar, every balm, every oil is handcrafted with transparency, real results, and ingredients you could actually eat (but please don’t).  This isn’t just skincare.  It’s a revolution.

Ellixi is David with glass and metal packaging.  The billionaire beauty companies are Goliath with a lot of plastic, pollution, and big marketing teams.  And they’re not backing down.  If you’re tired of the greenwashing, the guilt-tripping, and the thousands of ingredients—come stand with Ellixi. Join the rebellion. Glow on your own terms, feel and look better, and burn the rulebook.

Kiddie Academy® students create recycled art for Earth Day

Educational child care provider uses art contest to illustrate learning

ABINGDON, Md., April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Kiddie Academy® Educational Child Care franchise locations nationwide are participating in an Earth Day art contest, with students primarily using reused or recycled materials to construct projects in line with Kiddie Academy’s chosen theme, “Our Colorful Planet.” It’s a hands-on activity that helps children as young as 2 years old understand concepts like recycling in a developmentally appropriate way.

“Teaching children to be good citizens of our Earth starts at a young age,” said Joy Turner, vice president of education at Kiddie Academy. “Through activities they enjoy—like art projects—children can take what they’ve learned and make it tangible. Creating recycled Earth Day art is one way our little ones can learn about protecting the environment while developing creative expression.”

Participating Academies will combine the children’s artwork to create a large-scale, collaborative art installation, which explores the vibrant colors of nature. Throughout the project, children are invited to share their creative process so educators can see how they’re applying their Life Essentials® curriculum learnings to their work. To encourage participation, Kiddie Academy will make a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit environmental organization on behalf of the Academy that best demonstrates originality, craftsmanship and student involvement in their art installation.

“The way our educators facilitate these projects—by focusing on the process of learning and not the final product—allows children to explore their interests without hindering them. By documenting the process, parents and other educators can see progress, which creates a sense of pride and confidence in children,” added Turner.

Kiddie Academy will also make its annual donation to the National Forest Foundation to plant a tree on behalf of every open Academy, with over 345 trees to be planted in 2025. To date, Kiddie Academy has sponsored over 5,000 trees.

Gilead Sciences: Advancing Oncology Care Through Gilead's Research Scholars Program

As a medical oncologist who has practiced in three different countries, Dr. Maria Alice Franzoi is well acquainted with various healthcare systems and has a keen interest in researching patient-centered care models and innovative digital healthcare tools.

“I really think that technology can help us move the healthcare system to be more proactive,” says Maria.

With support from the Gilead Research Scholars Program (RSP), Maria is utilizing a remote monitoring program to help improve cancer care and decentralize it from hospitals to primary care settings. Her project has already been implemented for people living with breast cancer in dozens of centers in Europe, helping to enhance the quality of life of patients.

Gilead looks beyond its own labs to advance scientific innovation and address unmet needs in oncology. Since 2008 the company has invested in the RSP as a way to support early-career investigators like Maria and Katherine Chiappinelli, an assistant professor at George Washington University whose research through the RSP focuses on ovarian cancer. Katherine is advancing her work with epigenetic therapies in the hope it could lead to treatments that activate the immune system to fight ovarian cancer.

Likewise, Dr. Neil Vasan, a physician-scientist and assistant professor at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, is leading work that focuses on understanding oncoproteins in cancer cell signaling, particularly rare PIK3CA mutations. He’s developing a “PIK3CA mutation playbook” to guide clinical decisions for breast cancer treatment.

“Funding is important for a couple of reasons,” he says. “It’s recognition that your ideas are exciting and have the potential to change the world.”

Gilead’s oncology pipeline currently spans 30 clinical-stage programs and has more than 20 potential assets across most tumor types, with a focus on those with high unmet need.

Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator Celebrates First Round of Pilot Awards in the Scalable Tech Program

DENVER, April 15, 2025 /3BL/ – The Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2), a $55-million technology program funded by Wells Fargo & Company and coadministered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), announced the recipients of a pool of $750,000 in pilot funding as part of its inaugural Scalable Tech Track. The awards aim to address demand-side barriers to energy technology adoption by supporting large-scale, high-impact pilots across industries and sectors.

The Scalable Tech program awarded funding to five organizations for pilots of innovative energy technologies with expert support from NREL researchers. The projects include retrofitting HVAC systems, improving school air quality and energy use, optimizing data center cooling, and modernizing aging building infrastructure.

“The projects selected for this inaugural cohort embody the spirit of collaboration and innovation,” said Sarah Derdowski, IN2 program manager at NREL. “By integrating an ecosystem approach with scalable drop-in solutions, these pilots aim to demonstrate how energy technologies can address pressing resiliency and infrastructure challenges while establishing replicable pathways for widespread impact.”

Awarded Pilots:

*Denotes graduates of previous IN2 cohorts.

Pilots launched in early 2025 and will conclude within six months, demonstrating the program’s focus on rapid results and actionable insights to advance adoption. By targeting scalable energy solutions for the built environment, IN2 equips participants with resources, peer collaboration, and third-party validation.

A panel of judges chose organizations based on their feasibility, impact, pilot readiness, and dedication to knowledge sharing. Each project aims to drive meaningful progress toward energy solutions while fostering broader adoption of innovative technologies.

“Effective adoption of energy innovation requires scalability,” said Jeffrey Schub, head of sustainability at Wells Fargo. “These pilot projects represent a critical step in bridging the gap between promising advanced, and often cost-saving, technologies and widespread adoption. By connecting these industry leaders with resources and expertise, we’re helping them be successful as they pursue their energy and resiliency needs.”

Organizations that were not selected for pilot funding have also gained significant value through their participation in IN2. Several have initiated independent collaborations with NREL, leveraging its expertise to advance their innovative energy solutions. In addition, these organizations are developing white papers, case studies, and other resources to share insights and encourage broader adoption of advanced technologies. These activities reflect the program’s ability to drive impact beyond the funded pilots, fostering progress across the energy ecosystem.

The success of the 2024 cohort has paved the way for a second round of the Scalable Tech Track, anticipated to launch applications in late 2025.

Las Vegas Sands Continues Underwriting for National Hispanic Institute’s Las Vegas Program in a New Three-Year Engagement

Published by Las Vegas Sands on February 4, 2025

Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) will contribute nearly $350,000 for the 2024-2025 through 2026-2027 academic years to the National Hispanic Institute (NHI), continuing its Sands Cares support of the transformational leadership development program for Latino high school students in Las Vegas.

The new Sands Cares funding builds on the previous three-year grant, which provided the seed investment for NHI to establish a presence in Las Vegas and annual support for organizational expenses and student stipends. From 2022 to 2024, Sands Cares funding enabled 97 Las Vegas high school students to complete NHI’s leadership development programs, and over 25 students have returned as volunteers.

Students begin their journey in NHI’s leadership development program as rising sophomores focusing on communication skills as tools for self-advancement and community change through participation in the organization’s Great Debate. As rising juniors, students learn about governance, organizational development and policy design through participation in the Lorenzo de Zavala Youth Legislative Session. Finally, rising seniors participate in the Collegiate World Series, which has a dual focus on preparing students for both college admissions and community leadership.

“Sands has made it possible for us to immerse high-achieving Las Vegas students into our multi-level leadership development training, which progressively prepares them to be successful in the public and private sectors, as well as in their lives as a whole,” Nicole Nieto, executive vice president of NHI, said. “With the new Sands Cares funding, we are focusing on expanding our reach in Las Vegas and equipping more students to make positive impact for themselves and their communities.”

Funding for the 2024-2025 academic year will underwrite stipends for student tuition, travel expenses to competitions, recognition ceremonies, a student civic project, an organizational fundraiser, and a local administrator to manage the program, coordinate with the local volunteer alliance and conduct community outreach. With the Sands Cares support, NHI also plans to hold a one-day leadership program for eighth grade students interested in becoming future candidates for NHI’s high school programs and publish a Las Vegas annual report for parents, schools and community members.

“We have seen the tremendous impact NHI’s curriculum makes on students, and it strongly aligns with our commitment to building a highly capable and diverse workforce of the future,” Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs, who spearheads corporate responsibility initiatives, said. “Students leave NHI’s programs with increased confidence, new skillsets and a vision for their futures that supersedes their previous belief systems. It is a remarkable experience, and we encourage local students to take the journey.”

NHI is accepting applications for ninth- and tenth-grade students to enroll in its next program cycle until Feb. 28. Eligible ninth-grade students must have an 85/100 or 3.0/4.0 grade point average, and tenth-grade students must have an 88/100 or 3.2/4.0 GPA. Students from all backgrounds may apply. Students and school officials may contact Regina Legarreta at regina_legarreta@nhimail.com or apply at www.nationalhispanicinstitute.org.

Vantage Foundation Visits SOS Children’s Villages Portugal: Addressing Neglect and Breaking the Cycle

LISBON, Portugal, April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Neglect is one of the most pervasive yet overlooked threats to a child’s well-being. Unlike abandonment, neglect often goes unnoticed—leaving children trapped in cycles of chronic emotional harm, broken trust, and long-term developmental struggles.

During a recent visit to SOS Children’s Villages Portugal in Lisbon, Vantage Foundation met with Corporate Fundraising Coordinator Teresa Conceição and Brand and Communication Lead Emerson Marques to discuss the organisation’s 60-year commitment to protecting children who have suffered neglect, abandonment, or abuse.

Vantage Foundation Visits SOS Children’s Villages Portugal: Addressing Neglect and Breaking the Cycle

In Portugal, every 10 minutes, a child grows up without the support they need to thrive—many facing neglect that can span generations. Because neglect is less visible than other forms of harm, it often escapes intervention, leaving children to endure silent, long-lasting trauma. SOS Children’s Villages Portugal works to break this cycle through prevention, protection, and advocacy, ensuring no child is left behind.

Neglect is more than just the absence of care—it’s a chronic erosion of trust, with devastating effects on mental health and development. Children who experience neglect often suffer from emotional distress, attachment issues and difficulties in forming healthy relationships. Without intervention, the cycle of neglect continues, trapping families in a generational struggle.

SOS Children’s Villages Portugal tackles neglect at its roots by strengthening families through education, mental health support, and emergency assistance. By addressing systemic challenges early, they help prevent family breakdowns and reduce the need for out-of-home care.

When family separation is unavoidable, the organisation ensures that children receive high-quality care in a nurturing environment. This includes keeping siblings together, tailoring care to individual needs, and providing caregivers with specialised training in trauma-informed practices. They also advocate for stronger legal protections for young people transitioning out of care, ensuring they have the tools to build independent lives.

Vantage Foundation Visits SOS Children’s Villages Portugal: Addressing Neglect and Breaking the Cycle

Vantage Foundation recognises that ending neglect requires collaboration. By working with organisations like SOS Children’s Villages, businesses, policymakers, and communities can amplify the voices of children in vulnerable situations—and help break the cycle of neglect within families.

“Child neglect is a deep, invisible, and devastating issue,” emphasises Emerson Marques, Brand and Communication Lead at SOS Children’s Villages Portugal. “The more silent it is, the more dangerous it becomes. Sharing this message is essential to breaking the cycle—we need more people to know, care, and join this cause. Only then can we ensure that no child grows up without the love, respect, and safety they deserve.”

“The work of SOS Children’s Villages Portugal is truly inspiring,” said Steven, Executive Director of Vantage Foundation. “It is a testament to what’s possible when we prioritise children’s futures and reinforce the importance of collective action. Neglect is a silent crisis—but together, we can bring it out of the shadows and create real change.”

By confronting neglect head-on, we can build a world where every child grows up with love, respect, and safety.

This initiative is part of Vantage Foundation’s ongoing commitment to empowering vulnerable communities. To learn more about SOS Children’s Villages Portugal, visit https://www.aldeias-sos.org/.

Hyundai Motor Group Presents Action Plans for Waste-to-Hydrogen Ecosystem in Indonesia

  • Hyundai Motor Group to collaborate with Pertamina and West Java Province to build a waste-to-hydrogen ecosystem, advancing sustainable hydrogen solutions
  • By 2027, the Group plans to launch an on-site hydrogen refueling station utilizing Pertamina’s CNG infrastructure
  • Building on its successful W2H model in Korea, the Group plans to expand the ecosystem in Indonesia as its first overseas initiative
  • The April 2025 summit in Jakarta featured Indonesia’s national hydrogen roadmap, with major contributions from Hyundai and government ministries

SEOUL, South Korea and JAKARTA, Indonesia, April 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) today outlined action plans to establish a waste-to-hydrogen (W2H) ecosystem in West Java Province, Indonesia, during the Global Hydrogen Ecosystem Summit held in Jakarta.

At the summit, the Group unveiled comprehensive plans for the initiative in partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), and PT Pertamina (Persero), an Indonesian state-owned energy company.

Hosted by the Indonesia Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (IFHE), the event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), representatives from the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), and executives from Pertamina and Hyundai Motor Group. During the event, ESDM presented Indonesia’s national hydrogen roadmap, while BAPPENAS outlined hydrogen policies for Nusantara, the country’s new capital city.

As part of the initiative, the Group will establish an on-site hydrogen refueling station using Pertamina’s existing compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure, targeting operational launch by 2027. The station will be supplied with low-carbon hydrogen produced from biogas sourced at the Sarimukti landfill near Bandung, the capital of West Java Province.

Following the completion of a technical feasibility study on Sarimukti landfill development, the Group plans to commence construction this year. To bring Korea’s advanced hydrogen policies and technologies into the project, the Group is supporting the effort through a consortium of leading Korean organizations and companies.

The roadmap underscores significant advancements in the Group’s commitment to sustainable hydrogen solutions, as highlighted by its senior management at events in Indonesia and abroad. It also aligns with the objectives of Indonesia’s central government ministries and is reflected in the country’s National Hydrogen and Ammonia Roadmap.

Indonesia Marks First Overseas Milestone in W2H Initiative

The Sarimukti landfill in Indonesia handles about 80 percent of the 1,500 tons of waste generated daily in Bandung. In recent years, neighboring communities have faced repeated natural disasters – including large-scale fires, floods, and landslides – driven by the ongoing effects of global warming and increasingly extreme weather conditions.

Reaffirming its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, the Group has partnered with Good Neighbors to improve local access to drinking water and healthcare. Collaborating with Sejin G&E, the Group plans to secure the Sarimukti landfill, preventing disasters and ensuring safety, while extracting biogas for low-carbon hydrogen production via Hyundai Rotem’s steam methane reformer.

The robust partnership between the Group and Pertamina has paved the way for the development of a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem covering land provision for refueling stations, hydrogen production and transport, and vehicle utilization.

With strong support from key Indonesian government bodies, this collaboration not only addresses urgent waste management challenges but also lays the groundwork for low carbon hydrogen production.

Reolink cameras play a crucial role in protecting species and reducing human-wildlife conflicts. In Italy, Salviamo l’Orso uses Reolink Go Ranger PT cameras—the world-first 4K 4G pan & tilt trail camera—as part of its AI-powered Wild Animal Detection and Alert System (WADAS) to protect the critically endangered Marsican brown bear. “We were amazed to see how the cameras continually send images and videos, providing invaluable data for our conservation efforts,” said Stefano Dell‘Osa, WADAS Project Team Lead.

In Canada, Gates’ Wildlife Control, a leader in humane wildlife removal, has deployed nearly 50 Reolink Go Ultra cameras—a 4K 8MP 4G battery-powered model with pan & tilt—to monitor urban wildlife. “Reolink’s cellular cameras allow us to remotely monitor the removal process 24/7,” noted Cassandra Gates, Technician at Gates’ Wildlife Control. “The continuous footage enables us to observe and learn from animal behavior.”
