Zoomlion Advances Global Localization Through Community Action, Building Trust with Care and Long-Term Commitment

MANILA, Philippines, July 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zoomlion”) is strengthening its long-term commitment to localization with a series of meaningful actions that go beyond business. In its latest initiative, Zoomlion Philippines organized a volunteer visit to the Rehoboth Sampaloc Orphanage in Tanay, Rizal, delivering supplies and sharing time with 27 children, an effort that reflects the company’s broader mission of growing with communities, supporting employees, and building lasting trust.

Led by General Manager Xu Jian, the Zoomlion Philippines team brought infant formula, diapers, food packs, toys, and other daily essentials. Carefully selected to meet the children’s needs, the supplies reflected the company’s sincere commitment to giving back. The team spent the day with the children, sharing laughter and warmth. In appreciation, the orphanage awarded a certificate recognizing Zoomlion’s long-standing dedication to social responsibility and meaningful community engagement.

This initiative goes beyond charity, as it reflects Zoomlion’s broader approach to engaging with local communities. Since its establishment in 2021, the subsidiary has steadily expanded its presence across the country. Through this growth, Zoomlion shows that localization is not only about expanding presence, but also about earning trust and creating lasting community value.

For William Joshua M. Cruz, a marketing specialist at Zoomlion Philippines, the journey has been deeply personal. Starting from a support role in inventory, he has grown into a position that blends marketing, operations, and brand management. “My time at Zoomlion has been both thrilling and rewarding,” he shared. “I’ve had the opportunity to take on responsibilities that challenged me and helped me grow. More importantly, I’ve come to see that our work carries real meaning. We don’t just deliver machines; we help shape communities.”

Cruz recalled the moment the children received the toys as deeply moving. “Their smiles said it all. It was a heartfelt reminder that what we do can make a real difference. Initiatives like this remind us that we belong to the community, not apart from it.”

As Zoomlion continues to advance its global strategy, it remains committed to creating shared value in every market it serves. In the Philippines, this means nurturing relationships, growing alongside local communities, and building a brand rooted in care and responsibility. Through each genuine action, Zoomlion is shaping a sustainable future, and is earning the trust that turns presence into partnership.

Envision Energy Powers the World’s First Green Marine Ammonia Bunkering, Pioneering Net Zero Shipping Fuel

DALIAN, China, July 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology, is proud to announce that green ammonia fuel produced from its world’s largest green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Chifeng has successfully powered the world’s first green marine ammonia bunkering operation. The milestone event took place at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry’s terminal in Dalian, where China Shipping & Sinopec Suppliers Co., Limited completed the inaugural bunkering of green ammonia fuel for a 5,500 HP ammonia-fueled port vessel. This historic achievement demonstrates that the entire value chain, from green ammonia production to transportation, bunkering, and operation of ammonia-powered vessels, is now fully established and marks a concrete step by Envision in pioneering the “New Oil” era, showcasing Envision’s leadership in advancing net zero fuels for the global shipping industry.

“This successful bunkering demonstrates how net zero fuels can scale from renewable power generation to hard-to-abate sectors like maritime shipping – a true breakthrough for green ammonia,” said Frank Yu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, “We are proud that our green ammonia powered the world’s first bunkering of its kind. It’s a testament to Envision’s ability to deliver end-to-end net zero solutions that accelerate the replacement of fossil fuels with green energy in shipping and redefine what’s possible for the broader industrial transition.”

The green ammonia fuel supplied for this bunkering is a direct result of Envision’s cutting-edge innovation at the Chifeng Green Hydrogen-Ammonia Project – the world’s largest and most cost-effective facility of its kind. Powered entirely by the world’s largest independent renewable energy system, the project integrates wind, solar, and energy storage with proprietary hydrogen and ammonia production technologies to achieve dynamic coupling of power generation and green molecule production. The project has been awarded the ISCC Plus certification, becoming the world’s first project certified for green ammonia with a verified GHG (greenhouse gas) footprint. Additionally, the green ammonia produced has received renewable ammonia certification from Bureau Veritas, further confirming its environmental integrity and sustainability credentials.

The port tugboat that received the green ammonia fuel is equipped with key technologies including an independently developed ammonia dual-fuel engine and a dedicated fuel supply system. The vessel achieves an ammonia substitution rate of up to 91%, significantly reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels and effectively cutting carbon emissions during operations. This vessel has obtained the “Ammonia Fuel Tug” classification from China Classification Society, setting a benchmark for the future of green shipping technology.

The success of this operation positions Dalian Port as the world’s first port capable of offering biofuel, green methanol, LNG, and green ammonia bunkering services, reinforcing its status as a green energy hub in Northeast Asia. It also fills a critical gap in the supply chain for green ammonia marine fuel for international trade vessels.

This pioneering achievement marks a critical step in the decarbonization of global shipping and sets a scalable blueprint for green fuel ecosystems worldwide. By enabling the full value chain of green ammonia, from production to application, Envision reinforces its leadership in providing practical, scalable solutions for a sustainable energy future, accelerating the green transformation of global shipping and beyond.

LG Energy Solution Releases 2025 Second-Quarter Financial Results

  • LG Energy Solution posts KRW 5.6 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 492.2 billion in operating profit in Q2 2025
  • The company records quarterly operating profit even without North American production incentive, thanks to product mix improvements and enhanced cost efficiency
  • In response to recent policy changes and market demands, the company to focus on ESS business in North America and optimizing its product, technology portfolios

SEOUL, South Korea, July 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — LG Energy Solution (KRX: 373220) today announced its second-quarter earnings for 2025, posting a quarterly operating profit even without North American production incentive, mainly through product mix improvements and continued efforts to improve cost efficiency.

The company posted consolidated revenue of KRW 5.6 trillion, an 11.2 percent decrease quarter-on-quarter. The operating profit was KRW 492.2 billion, marking a 31.4 percent increase quarter-on-quarter, with operating profit margin of 8.8 percent. The operating profit includes North American production incentive, which is estimated at KRW 490.8 billion.

“In the second quarter, we secured stable EV battery sales and also started production at our new ESS battery facility in North America,” said Chang Sil Lee, CFO of LG Energy Solution. “However, constrained customer purchase sentiment, coupled with the reflection of metal price decline to our average selling price (ASP) affected our quarterly revenue.”

Lee added, “At the same time, we saw improvements in our product mix thanks to increased production in North America, along with enhanced cost efficiency and favorable material cost ratio, all of which contributed to the quarterly operating profit even when excluding North American production incentive.”

At the earnings conference, LG Energy Solution outlined its market outlook and strategic action plans for the second-half of the year. Following tariff and policy changes in the U.S., Europe, the U.K. and the associated cost pressure on major automakers, the company anticipates a short-term slowdown in EV demand. At the same time, it expects advancements in autonomous driving technology to drive mid-to long-term growth momentum.

The company projects increased demand in the energy storage system (ESS) market, capitalizing on new business opportunities from both existing and new renewable energy plants and AI data centers. It also predicts that the IRA Investment Tax Credit (ITC) will present more opportunities by incentivizing a shift in the supply chain toward non-Chinese battery suppliers.

In terms of market competition, the company expects recent policy changes to strengthen barriers against Prohibited Foreign Entities (PFE) entering the U.S. battery market, thereby reinforcing the advantage for battery companies that have already secured local production capabilities and stable operational competencies.

Taking these transitions into account, LG Energy Solution now aims to build on its second-quarter accomplishments and maintain its growth momentum. In the second quarter, the company focused on establishing local ESS battery production, which recently came to fruition with the start of production at its first North American ESS battery manufacturing hub in Michigan. By proactively adjusting its capacity expansion plans, the company now aims to expand its annual production capacity for ESS batteries to 17GWh by the end of this year.

In terms of operation, LG Energy Solution will first maximize the utilization of its existing production capacity by focusing on ESS batteries and new form factors and chemistries. Also, it will reduce fixed costs by adjusting and scaling down investment plans while securing competitiveness in the supply chain and sourcing.

In terms of its business portfolio, the company will continue to expand its ESS business in North America and secure over 30GWh of annual production capacity in the region by the end of 2026. In Europe, it will start mass producing mid- to low-end batteries such as high-voltage mid-nickel and LFP batteries at its Poland facility in the second-half of the year.

In terms of technological advancement, LG Energy Solution plans to enhance its mid- to low-end product portfolio with EV/ESS LFP batteries and EV LMR (lithium manganese-rich) batteries, while also advancing product competitiveness—including energy density—through innovative technologies. The company will also launch EV batteries with the charging speed of less than 10 minutes by 2028. For dry electrodes, a key driver for cost innovation, the company will evaluate the production feasibility within this year and establish sample production system at its facility in Ochang, Korea.

Climate Activists Exploit Jasper Wildfire Anniversary – ICJ did no Due Diligence says Friends of Science Society

Climate activists falsely conflate climate change and wildfire as they exploit the anniversary of the Jasper wildfire, says Friends of Science Society. The International Court of Justice did improper due diligence on climate change evidence and used “phantom experts”; unanimous advisory opinion flawed from the get-go.

CALGARY, AB, July 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As the anniversary of the 2024 disastrous wildfire in Jasper National Park arrived, climate activists falsely conflated climate change and wildfire to sway public opinion says Friends of Science Society in a new video, Climate Fanatics Exploit Jasper Wildfire Anniversary.”

As long-time climate policy analyst Roger Pielke, Jr. wrote in his 2023 Substack “What the media won’t tell you about…wildfires,” “The IPCC has not detected or attributed fire occurrence or area burned to human-caused climate change.”

As reported in the Western Standard of July 07, 2025, in a January 2025 Climate Change Risk Assessment report for the Municipality of Jasper, Parks Canada (the federal agency that manages the park) downplayed residents’ concerns about wildfire: ‘Parks Canada expressed that the actual risk of fire is less than the public perception.’

Retired forester Ken Hodges, in subsequent hearings into the disaster, had scathing comments. Hodges had independently advocated for years for aggressive action to address the risk of such a mega-fire due to hectares of standing deadwood in the iconic park.

In a July 21, 2025 op-ed in Canada’s National Observer, Chris Hatch claims that journalists are failing to tag climate change as the ‘why’ of wildfires.  In the article, he references climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe and a new paper that encourages people to link extreme weather events to climate change as a means of garnering more public support for “climate action.” In spite of this, as Friends of Science Society reported in a press release of July 17, 2025, polls in Canada and the US show that public interest in climate change has waned.  Only 14% of Canadians listed climate change as a priority.

As reported in the Western Standard on July 20, 2025, Canada’s Privy Council operates a “nudge” unit and spent $720 million over two years to use psychological tactics to try and shape Canadian behaviours and attitudes; climate action is one of the topics.

On July 23, 2025, AP reported that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had issued a unanimous advisory statement on the issue of climate obligations. As BBC reported on July 23, 2025, the issue was originally brought to the UN General Assembly by youth climate activists from small Pacific islands, led by Vanuatu.  AP claims that the ruling, wherein “UN’s top court says failing to protect planet from climate change could violate international law, theoretically puts the United States at risk of international law suits as it has withdrawn from the Paris Agreement and other climate obligations.

Friends of Science Society points out that the ICJ did little due diligence on the scope of climate change and accepted the viewpoint of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the sole authority.  The ~2,000 scientists and scholars of CLINTEL – the climate intelligence network based in The Netherlands – have issued the World Climate Declaration detailing why there is no climate emergency.

In the IPCC’s AR6 Working Group I Physical Sciences report of 2021, the words ‘climate emergency’ and ‘climate crisis’ are only mentioned once, each, in relation to media coverage.  Likewise, the much vaunted 2 °Celsius (or subsequent 1.5 °Celsius) global warming boundaries were simply made up, according to scientist Steve Koonin and Mark Mills, in “The Paris Accords as Climate Insurance – Unaffordable and Unnecessary.”

Friends of Science Society says it is deeply concerning that the ICJ engaged in a non-transparent process with the IPCC, exposed by legal scholars Michael A. Becker and Cecily Rose, as discussed in this Dec. 03, 2024, commentary, “The Return of Not-Quite “Phantom Experts”? The ICJ Meets with IPCC Scientists

Canada is spending some $476 billion on climate action between 2020-2030. According to a Fraser Institute report by Ross McKitrick, the reduction in global warming is estimated to be an immeasurable 0.007 °Celsius (seven thousandths of a degree C) by 2100.

High School Surfers Rally Santa Monica Leaders to Safeguard Beach and Ocean Health

Spearheaded by Pacifica Christian High School’s SurfersWhoServe, dozens of students will gather July 29 to advocate for continued leadership in ocean safety and environmental care following reports of elevated bacteria.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Student surfers from Pacifica Christian High School’s surf team, through their youth-led initiative SurfersWhoServe supported by The Coastal Alliance, will join with peers from schools across Los Angeles at Santa Monica City Hall on Tuesday, July 29, urging city leaders to protect and improve beach and ocean health.

Event Details:
4:30 PM – Rally & Press Conference outside Santa Monica City Hall (1685 Main St)
5:30 PM – Public Comment during City Council Meeting

More than two dozen students from Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, and the South Bay will deliver science-based comments, visuals, and calls for action. Their goal: keep beach water safe, uphold Santa Monica’s leadership in environmental protection, and collaborate with the city on future solutions.

“Our beaches are our backyard—and our classroom,” says 17-year-old team co-captain Teal Greene. “We surf these waters daily. We know when something’s wrong. We’re asking city leaders to listen to the science and keep the ocean safe for everyone.”

Their action comes after recent water tests by the LA County Department of Public Health revealed elevated bacteria levels in nine popular swim zones—despite no recent rainfall. Students hope their voices will shape the city’s upcoming environmental policy discussion at the council meeting.

“Pacifica’s surf team shows the next generation won’t wait for change—they’ll make it happen,” says surf coach and AquaSurf founder Dylan Sohngen. “Santa Monica once led on coastal protection. Now it’s time to lead again.”

Students will present tangible ideas, including youth-led water monitoring and expanded storm drain awareness, and offer to collaborate on local projects.

“Young people have a powerful voice when given tools and space to lead,” says Ashley Oelsen, Executive Director of The Coastal Alliance. “These students are not just surfers—they are scientists, advocates, and changemakers. We’re proud to support their leadership.”

Adds SurfersWhoServe founder Joe Holscher, “After the Palisades Fire, we understand what’s at stake. We want a seat at the table to protect ocean health.”

Why It Matters:

  • Public Health: Clean water safeguards surfers, swimmers, and marine life.
  • Environmental Justice: Students call for equitable investment in infrastructure across all beach communities.
  • Civic Engagement: This effort shows how teens can lead on policy and service.
  • Local Economy: Clean beaches protect tourism, recreation, and small businesses.
