June 27, 2024 /3BL/ – Members of the media are invited to hear from leaders of Nevada’s public and private sectors on Tuesday, July 9, at 2:00 pm PT as they discuss their efforts to address sustainability challenges and grow the state economy by building clean technology. The event will take place at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson as part of the Nevada Sustainability Summit: Upping the Game.
Nevada stands at the epicenter of global sustainability solutions, balancing its rich natural resources with formidable challenges in climate, water, energy, and air pollution. This unique position — as well as several major private-sector investments in the state to build clean technology — makes Nevada a crucial player in tackling the planet’s most urgent sustainability challenges.
Media are invited to join the Summit’s closing session, an armchair discussion featuring Director Dwayne McClinton of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy and Caleb Cage, executive director of the Nevada Battery Coalition, on opportunities to leverage these historic sustainability investments to bring more prosperity to Nevada. Since the summer of 2022, when the nation’s largest-ever clean energy legislation passed into law, Nevada has secured more than $14.5 billion in new clean energy investments, which are projected to create more than 20,000 new jobs. The Nevada Sustainability Summit will celebrate this success while exploring further opportunities to grow the state’s sustainable economy.
