Newburgh, NY — The Green Tech Conference, an essential part of the East • Northeast International Film Festival, will be held June 17-21, 2019.  The weeklong event will promote green technologies, good health & well-being, sustainable food production, clean energy and more efficient water usage; all while creating thousands of new green collar jobs and careers.

East Northeast International, founded by actor-writer-director Robert Fontaine and his business partner Michael Muyot, conference director, are hosting a five-day (5) conference in the historic and scenic Hudson River Valley in Newburgh, NY — the first municipality in NYS to be electrified by Thomas Edison himself.  Mr. Muyot, conference director, gave a presentation to the City Council on May 23rd, he stated, “We seek to set a shining example of how to empower people through learning, connections and career advancement opportunities.” Newburgh is on the forefront of helping solve some of the country’s greatest environmental, social and economic challenges.

According to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)'s 2018 New York Clean Energy Industry Report, the state rates as the third-highest in the country for energy efficiency and solar jobs, including a 6.1% increase in clean energy jobs in 2017—more than 3% higher than the figure, nationwide. More than 13 per every thousand jobs in the Mid-Hudson Valley (and Western New York) were in clean energy in 2017.

Bureau of Labor statistics (BLS) shows that jobs in solar and wind are projected to grow fastest over the coming decade. Employment for solar installers and wind turbine technicians is expected to double. From 2016 to 2026—solar photovoltaic installers (105% increase) and wind turbine service technicians (96% increase)—involve “green” work. Starting median salaries for Solar Installers are $39,490 and they have a well-defined career path to becoming a Solar PV Technician, which has a median salary of $53,070, then Solar Fleet Manager which pays $85,400 per year.  Visit IREC Solar Career Map for more details,

The mission is to be a catalyst for the transition to clean and renewable energy while creating attractive and exciting career opportunities in the Hudson Valley Region.  The blueprints include a fast growing clean energy supply chain which holds the potential to generate millions of new exciting careers in sustainable energy generation and delivery, smart-grid infrastructure, transportation and vehicle systems along with complementing product and service industries in food, wellness and the arts.

To that end, the ENE Green Tech conference will include end-of-day panel talks on careers in the industry, including apprenticeships and job training.  For more information or to purchase tickets go to
